  1. I kind of figured the avengers would be about like that. I don't plan to go see it.. Saw The Grey. It was about what I figured...as in it was "meh". Not great, not awful...just meh. Good acting, but I found the plot was quite cliched and predictable, as well as somewhat unrealistic (which ordinarily I don't mind but it seemed like this film was trying to be realistic).
  2. I never said the songs he sings are good, they're quite ridiculous in my opinion. But just because someone belongs to a (largely) untalented genre doesn't mean they're untalented, often quite the contrary. Lady Gaga is also quite talented as well, but ruins that by being completely ridiculous. That's the misfortune of the popular music industry...
  3. The guy is actually talented too, that's the sad part. I think that's pushing it. A good performer he may be, but he is certainly no musician (I say this as someone who doesn't post hate about him). Clearly you've never heard him sing without auto-tune then. He actually has a pretty good voice.
  4. I don't like apple any more than the rest, but this is a pretty ridiculous claim...
  5. Yeah, sand tends to preserve stuff really well. Cool find.
  6. Ehh I can't stand the big ice. So hard to get any pressure going...

What back end language are you using?
  9. A lot of people do stuff as a kid/teen they regret (myself included). I wouldn't judge him based on that, this far after the fact. Granted, I'm not all that impressed with Romney in general, but more because of what he's done as an adult.
  10. Yep. Smart political move.
  11. I'm terribly sorry OP, but I'm not sure what you're asking. In fact, I'm not sure if it's even written in English. If you can provide a translation, I'll be happy to assist.
  12. If she rejected you, sounds like she's not interested and is just trying to stay friends.
  13. I think he was offered a once in a lifetime spacewalk starting today.
  14. My advice is that whenever you need to ask for help as simple as this, you don't have the necessary knowledge of the language to tackle such a project (although the calculators are not that complex). PHP is not an overly difficult language to learn, but I don't think JavaScript is either. If I were you I'd try working through some php or JavaScript tutorials online, doing some simple programs, and by that point you should have a much better idea of exactly how to go about making a calculator.
  15. And thar goes philly. I'm surprised it was NJ, but not surprised they're out. Have fun with Bryzglolov for the next 9 years :D
  16. Yeah. And Philly in quite the hole as well.. Seriously, who would have predicted a Phx/LAK Conf final...
  17. Dated my gf while we worked together (being her superior), never again.
  18. It's certainly possible to do using php, although I'm not sure why it would be easier. If you use javascript, you can do all the processing client side - using php the main change is passing the parameters (such as skill level, xp, etc) to the server, calculating the result there, and returning it. Do you have any any prior experience with either javascript or php?
  19. You don't necessarily need to use javascript, but I do agree that it probably makes the most sense. You'd probably want to start by familiarizing yourself with the various formulas for the calcs.
  20. http://www.adherents.com/misc/adh_prison.html That's just the total number. There are obviously a lot more religious people in America than not. It should be no surprise that more end up in jail. Something accurate would be "number imprisoned per 10,000 of [belief]" @assume i'll reply in a minute Yeah, seeing a statistic based on percentage would be much more useful
  21. I'd personally like to see some statistical evidence that religious people are more likely to engage in criminal activity than atheists, to be honest.
  22. It doesn't have to be a big deal....doesn't hurt to try it and see how it goes.

Bravo for a post that's sane. Eggs: Ultimately, your gf was the one who chose to leave you. You need to learn to deal with that rejection and not take it out on someone who, while involved, is not really the bad guy in this situation.
  24. Oh good, this thread again. Because this hasn't already been discussed to death... Anyway, I think there is probably some kind of sentient force controlling the universe. As to what exactly that is I can't be sure...

No, there isn't, he's being infantile. It's the other guy's fault his ex cheated on him, not hers
