  1. Switching to Lynx from Vista has been amazing. (I previously didn't use Ubuntu much because of some severe problems with my drivers.)
  2. Good advice, but I have better: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
  3. I like the idea, and I remember this from Redwall as well.
  4. Agreed. Somehow I don't think that it's possible to make that much anymore though: I think people are getting a lot more inventive, and paying a lot more attention, now that high herblore is so useful.
  5. It's whiny emotional lyrics interspersed with splashes of poor COB imitation riffs. I can't see anyone really caring what it's called. Metal has divided into so many different sub-genres that it's quite difficult to keep them straight.

being one of the few vegetable sources of saturated fat (not that it's a benefit). Other benefits: it tastes good. you can live off it for several weeks if you get stranded on a desert island, a coconut with a straw in it before competitive athletics will definately scare opponents, nothing like a piña colada half-time. Also usually filled with preservatives, has sugar and/or flavoring added, and carcinogen compounds present from canning. If you consume it fresh, it's much better, but is hardly a necessary component of any diet. Fixed.

Sounds weird. Glad to hear that you are actually considering more dimensions of it then just your own success though. I had a friend who's teacher did something similar, his teacher said something about deserving a better mark. I dunno how they reach decisions about stuff like that, but glad it worked out for you.
  8. How often do you see fat kids playing a sport that requires a lot of running. Correlation not causation. A fallacy that most people fall into over and over, and yet make surprisingly little effort to avoid. Y'see, 'round these parts, if you're going to claim the fish was this big, you need a picture of the fish before anyone will believe you. I never made any allusion, overt or otherwise, to any member of TIF being slow, if that indeed is what you are implying. I am however, sorry to say that I did not include my source. I apologize, I was tired and didn't have a digital copy at the time. I've turned up a collection of noted from the section concerning it, from Gary Taube's [Good Calories, Bad Calories If his credentials are to be called into question: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_TaubesWikipedia is in itself not a valid source, but it provides links to sources that are.

Apparently, my Civics teacher doesn't want to hear about who actually runs our government lives. Funny thing is though, I still have 97% in the class. I didn't try at all, it just happened. Now it's a little bit frustrating though, because I feel obliged to work hard at it now.
  10. Your setup looks awesome. Congratz, that's a nice 99 to have.
  11. They won't make much difference in terms of actual XP gained, but people are probably thinking that it will have an impact.
  12. I wish I had a girlfriend who would be willing to go to RuneFest. Actually, I kind of wish that I had a girlfriend at al... wait, lets not go down this path.

 I've done that before. A worse word, but still, a similar scenario.

  15. Familiarity breeds apathy.
  16. Obesity and physical activity actually has quite a limited link.
  17. Taking "responsibility" means very little: after all, they'd be quite willing to take credit for it if they though it would whip the media into a frenzy of coverage over them and their cause. I'm also under the understanding that they retracted their statement after it failed.
  18. Not sure I've heard much about Christians planting bombs in busy areas recently, have you? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timothy_McVeigh That's just one
  19. But what you do to yourself is your choice. Getting blown up by a bomb certainly is not. That's not my point: I'm not discussing suicide and depression, but random searches, racial profiling and pointless "security" measures created to keep people "safe."

I just finished installing the new Ubuntu release (10.04 Lucid Lynx) and I'm setting my stuff up on it as I type. Being free of Microsoft Crashware really is awesome. Reading Little Brother by Cory Doctorow (anyone who's read it will get the reference above) and it's just awesome. I was thinking about buying his new book, For the Win, and now I'm quite sure I will.
  21. What we do to ourselves is worse than anything that they can do to us.
  22. Excellent pun. And all I can do is wish I had a car to be angry with.
  23. Yea, but I would choose AGS over AGS.
  24. Unless you find prayer really expensive, as I do, spend a lot of time Slaying (drop tons of bones) and don't care about chaotic weapons.
  25. I've used the prayer book, and it's awesome. Haven't used the totem though.
