  1. I DO want to worry about dangerous chemicals, which is why I use a Brita... :? I don't really understand what you are getting at. Also theres a big difference between swimming in a pool with chlorine in it and ingesting chlorine all day every day of my life. I wear clothes on my skin, but I dont eat clothes. But really I dont understand what youre saying? OK, I'll try again: I'm sure that you're aware that chlorine was one of the first chemicals to me mobilized as a weapon. (BTW, like the clothes metaphor.) Now, there is very little scientific research, and nothing respectably conclusive saying that small amounts of chlorine in one's diet has a negative effect upon a body. Now, converting that tiny concentration into an aresol (as happens in a shower) is probably not good. Yet you don't have a Brita on your shower. When you swim in a pool, especially over-treated public ones, you can't avoid the fumes and ingesting some of it, no matter how small that amount may be. And I assure you, that is a massive amount of chlorine. Additionally, I'm not sure if it exists, but I have yet to see any references or documentation pertaining to the supposed benefits of using a waterforum.tip.ithly doubt that any such claims are actually extensively regulated or even verified by the FDA or a similarly reputable organization.
  2. Read thoroughly. It was in response to: People don't refer to glucose as a "drug" but the withdrawal from absence of it in your system is the same. Try going without it in your diet for a day. It's an addiction.
  3. Congratulations. You linked to a document showing that the water company puts chlorine into the drinking water. Removing the chlorine is one of the main things that a Brita does. Also, it removes many metal oxides that are picked up in the pipes on the way to your house. But really, you call it stupid to use a device that removes chlorine, and then post a document that proves use of chlorine. Wonderful. =D> Actually it is. The same people arguing against chlorine in the water supply worry about the harmful effects of fluoride. Then they swim in a pool, and take a shower. Want to worry about "dangerous chemicals"? Start worrying about what you're ingesting, and what you're breathing. BTW, ever heard of Sodium Benzoate? If you leave a soda containing it in the sun, and it will contain one of the chemicals that makes cigarettes dangerous: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benzene http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benzene_in_soft_drinks#Formation_in_soft_drinks The poster you quoted stated that there is a suggestion that sugar is somewhat addictive. And other people have given alternatives to the caffiene addiction. Unsweetened tea or coffe will more than deliver on your caffiene addiction. Or you could supplement in a caffiene pill. [/quotforum.tip.it that way dude. Ever used drugs before? You start off small, but then every time, you need a little bit more. When I started getting into computers with friends a couple of years ago, I couldn't have a Coke without being unable to sleep at all over the next 10 hours. Within a few months, I needed an energy drink just to get my butt in gear.

My USB TV Tuner sucked up the better part of my morning... 3 hours later and I finally realized that it was a loose connection. Wow. Then I spent the afternoon taking the memory and graphics card out of our old computer, and sticking it in my sister's. Now, to spend the next few hours doing schoolwork. Fun.
  5. Software that never mentions being a trial or requiring a license key until you've started using it. :x

Bought a T.V. USB Tuner. Plus, my parents bought a new desktop with WIndows Media Centre - hello DRM, commercial free programming!
  7. I'd never seen this before, but that's just epic.
  8. I kind of like it: I mean, I don't level up a ton, so it's nice to have some other stuff floating around in it. Although now that you say it, it would be nice if it did it a little less often.
  9. **Sigh** I got 99 WC about two months before Ivies came out.
  10. Unless something out of our control happens like a massive meteor hits the earth and wipes out the human race or a new virus forms with no cure then we will all survive for millenia to come. Global warming ISN'T a problem, the air is made up of about 0.03% of co2 so all this crap about recylcling every little thing and do everything to reduce the amount of co2 you produce is total crap. Think about the hypocrisy aswell there flying around in private jets with a few people on board all over the world all the time, couldn't they just go business class? I agree that CO2 is not the problem. First of all, your "argument" is senseless crap. Because a few people choose to remain ignorant, does that really mean that our behavior should be altered? After all, this is a topic for discussing religion. Now, to deal with CO2: http://uanews.org/node/4815. There. Done. Literally. You can't insist that there isn't more going on than just carbon floating in the air. The next question to put to a sforum.tip.it20whether or not they can predict and compare solar flares. Interestingly, we can't (closest we've come, and read the limitations: http://physicsworld.com/cws/article/news/3075). Remember, it takes massive amounts of energy (and I mean massive amounts: http://www.bwea.com/ref/faq.html#payback). Read the chapter on it in [super Freakonomics/i], and you'll encounter arguments with far more detail concerning the tipping point and other challenges to the argument, including the accusation that funding can no longer be found for research that might refute the current hypothesis, aside from oil and coal companies However, for all practical purposes, I entirely support the anti-global-warming agenda: after all, how can you say carbon-caps (punishing corporations for their excessive fossil-fuel consumption) renewable energy (we need something: it's just a matter of when we'll actually require it) and conservation of natural resources. Food for though.

  12. Good idea. I've always been curious to know exactly when I started to play.
  13. I just finished watching Ice Age 3 with my little brother and sister. It's kind of lame. I mean, it's good for a little kids movie, but aside from that. I plan to watch Cargo (Swedish SF movie) with a friend next time we hang out. Maybe a Firefly show/movie marathon? I've been wanting to do that for a while...

  16. I get about 1,400 alcs per hours, fairly focused. If you Graahk natures, you should probably be able to do ~1.8k/hour, focused. Do the math. =D
  17. Teleports have limited use, really only if you're farming, and happen to have high magic. Superglass and plank make, however, do have some significant uses.

  19. I heard that on NPR the cleanup costs are going to total in the billions, and the cap is currently set at $75 million.
  20. Why? It's the same principle as when people try to stop smoking. If you go cold turkey you'll get strong urges to drink the soda again because your body is used to it. Instead you gradually lower your intake and wean your body off of it while getting used to consuming more water gradually at the same time. If you cut it out completely right away I think there is a much lesser chance of you stopping drinking the soda in the long term. Unlike smoking/cigarettes, there are no addictive drugs in soda. Some studies have suggested the body becomes addicted to sweet things, but it's really not the same. Just go "cold turkey" which brings me to my next point, delicious ice-water really makes it for me. You might want to buy a water-filter for your tap or a filter-pitcher to just run water through. I quit sodas cold turkey, and it contributed greatly to my weight loss. I actually laughed when I read this. Ever heard of a glucose craving? Almost all "sparkling-beverages" (Coca-Cola propaganda) have caffeine (worse than nicotine, and some other "hard-core" drugs by far: http://www.drugsense.org/tfy/addictvn.htm). As for tap-affixed water filters, they're just stupid. Research your municipality's water purification process and locate it in this (.pdf, clean) document: www.ene.gov.on.ca/envision/gp/4448e01.pdf and then tell me that the equivalenforum.tip.itiner is really going to make any difference beside the psychological.
  21. Sorry for double post, my browser seems to be acting up... or perhaps my connection.
  22. Disciple - Slayer. For some reason, I now feel like listening to bagpipe music.
  23. Any why, exactly, would you insist on poor grammar and worse spelling? SerpentEye: Don't worry, I fixed his spelling errors for you. :]
