Why not using the barricade just outside the fortress instead? They don't drift of far and you can collect the drops, if you want. And consider the Fortress guards which are just a few squares away...

Sell the mithril bars if you want some profit, unless someone can think of a mithril item which is worth more than 1k cash and made of a single bar. And maybe you should try to test both methods (smelt only and smelt then smith) to see which one is the fastest, because it's not all about which item gives the most experience. To be honest I think the willow comp bow is another bling.. I'd stick with a maple short anyways.. Also, bows do not affect arrows power anyhow. It depends on what kind of metal they are made of and the attack style you're using. Shortbows, longbows... They all have the same ranged bonus for the same material. Except that the latter has a longer range.

You can range the moss giants at Crandor even with 3 other people. It's all about speed and you can eventually outskill the competition due to the ranger's higher speed. I tried them at 57 ranged on another account and they were fine. But I'm not sure if they are ok at 47 range. If you had a high enough magic level, you could alch the black and mithril sq shields they drop too.

If you are 13 or under you can only talk on quick-chat I think... With cursing you will spend around 455k cash to 70 mage. 37 mage pl0x?? You can stand on the hill near the black knights fortress and curse the guards from below. You'll be safe because they can't reach you. Look for the spot in your world map if you want. EDIT: Use armour with negative mage bonus (full rune-bronze, boots from stronghold of security, any amulet besides power and mage, and green dhide vambs). Otherwise, it will NOT work! Once you get a higher mage level, preferably in the low 50s/high 40s, mage the lesser demons at Crandor island or Karamja dungeon. Even with fire strike I can destroy the level 82 demons... Again, use the world map if you have trouble finding such places.

Except that everytime I go there, I find people mining mithril! Either superheat coal and mith ores at Hobgoblins' mine and bank at Bounty Hunter bank or mine at Lumbridge swamp mine in the south-west corner, tele or home-tele to Lumbridge and use the bank in the top floor.
