Spirit of Fire? Those aren't in 2010... Most of the demon types now are randomly generated.

Dwarf fortress
Drafted into the military to guard the miners in the adamantine veins. Died after killing eleven demons in a single tile corridor. His armour had over 100 different creatures bloodstains on it.

Still trying to work that one out myself. I can transfer most of the workshops, but the alchemy stuff appears to be missing when I do so, and editing the stone types in is a bit of a nightmare. I'll mess around with the raws and see what happens a bit more, I guess.

The Back Room
I didn't have too much trouble with it, IIRC. Just ignore the small birds and keep your health high.

Look at the nearest ore vein, and tell me if it's got a different graphic than the one you had before.

Dwarf fortress
Nex, has your DF switched to a different tileset?

Mmm, but I think adamantine still makes for god-awful crushing weapons. I'm waiting on them to make the alchemy compatible with Phoebus graphics, because that's a pretty extensive feature.

Chaos dwarf theives are annoying. They don't trigger traps, and they move really fast. Also, one of my weaponsmiths had a fey mood and produced a ruby and star ruby engraved... Skullcracker. Brilliant ADAMANTINE CRUSHING WEAPON. Why couldn't they have used the billion lead bars or platinum bars I have laying around instead. Still, it's worth about 1/4 of my fort right now, so I'm not complaining TOO much.

http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=31157.675 Do not install the entire mod, it will net you a bad graphics pack. copy and paste the entity files to the phoebus DF object raws, and you should be able to get your very own war crabs. Speaking of civforge animals, one of my dwarves has [edit: Make that 8] beetles as pets. He is sick. Very very sick. I think it's time for him to pull the magma lever.

He shall die by my adamantine flambard, and legions of war crabs. I trained one of my dwarves shield and dodging skills so high using a danger room that she can practically do the matrix thing. I had to make a new danger room just for her that uses bronze spikes instead of wooden training spears. Any other person who goes into that room gets torn to shreds, she SLEEPS IN IT. Civforge weapons, for the record. Flambard was from a strange mood, and the thing is abusrd. It cuts enemies like butter. Army of war crabs is self explanatory. They aren't that great, but ARMY OF WAR CRABS. Also, recursion: Damn bauxite fetishists.

Have not seen that one yet. Also, holy crap. I nearly survived breaking into the circus and leaving it open. I also figured something out: The first wave of clowns is freaking huge, no lie about that, and surviving it is tough as hell, but if you manage it, they start only coming at a slow trickle, which can easily be handled. New goal: Declare war on clowns and Survive HFS.

Nah, but generating such a pillar causes the game to move so slowly that they might as well. It literally grinds to a halt.

You mean the beard hair of armok. He was shaving one day, and one of the hairs fell and pierced the earth, or so it is said. I tried running that map, but I was getting like 2 fps. The sayings are true. Nobody can start a fortress there because all the dwarves just drop to their knees and stare at the pillar in awe until they starve to death (Or you turn it off due to low fps) On a slightly irrelevant note, am I the only one who always scans an embark map with DFprospector before doing anything else?

I have a U.R.I.S.T Artificial intelligence fort tucked away somewhere in my files. It's actually more efficient than normal, provided you use notes to keep track of all the levers... Which I did at first, but then everything drowned in magma because I got the floodgate levers mixed up. Yeaaaaahhh... Nex, that's the one with the 85 sword skill dwarf and the artifact adamantine armour, right?

2025
I'd rather go off the front page and give any new players 3.5 points into skills and a little money to spend on equips.

Dwarf fortress
I modded DF with the civforge pack (Adds like 8 other races, some of which trade, others of which are aggressive) and there is a slight problem with it... They keep making the dwarvern civilisation go extinct, which means no migrants, which means I need to regen a world. I'm sure it's just been bad luck, but 3 worlds of no dwarves seems a little excessive.

The Back Room
Irrelevant, Gurren Lagann is incredible and you should probably watch it. At one point, they fire beams at every point in time and space simultaniously.
-
Dwarf fortress
Nah, just tame and butcher those. If a big monster comes along, say, giant tiger/elephant, those are the monsters you want to train on. Also, seiges supply vast amounts of "gladiators", if you have a 3x15 corridor filled with cage traps.

The Back Room
You guys need to watch Gurren Lagann. 3 billion light year tall mecha, awesome characters and about a million uses of the word drill. I actually think it's kind of parodying itself in a way. The universe it's in just gets more and more absurdly... well, absurd, until they start throwing galaxies like shurikens and firing the equivilant of the big bang at each other. Also, Code Geass. Despite the characters looking like noodle people, it's a very good anime. It's your typical lawful good vs. chaotic good style affair, but which one is which depends entirely on your perspective, which is wierd, but pretty cool in a way. It has mecha as well.

My race is mechanical too. Bleh heh.

The Back Room
I watched the whole series a while back, it's pretty funny.

My cat went out in the rain and now my couch is soaked God damnit. How is it that a cat can absorb so much water.

Much appreciated Earth. Thanks.
