No Mather, I mean a computer in the sense one would use it normally. I'm just imagining a near dead, rocky world, where a computer formed completely by chance and starting there.

I wonder what the chances of a computer occuring naturally are. Very slim, I would imagine, but I still like the idea, and will probably base my machine race on that.

Most of those reasons are not even included as features, really. populace happiness only plays a part if you do something really stupid (Herpaderp I strap all my people to a giant production machine), otherwise it is generally ignored, power hungry neighbors are inherent, and important to the fun side of it (A game is not fun if it is easymode all day erry day). Research brings the creative side into it, and if there is a good moderator (There usually is), then not too much OP stuff slips through the net, and strategic/tactical thinking is half the fun. No wait, it's more or less all the fun, because let's face it, war is the most fun part of hegemony. But hey, you clearly don't handle micromanagement very well, so I can see why it wouldn't be your thing.

Wow. Heh. The WW2 thing was pretty funny.

Doubt it. Dual wielding isn't THAT buggy. But it is pretty buggy.

I'm digging through these veins upwards, so no HFS yet. They're probably all too stupid anyway, since one of my best dwarves dodged off a bridge and drowned. Another one is using two swords, an artifact adamant sword, and an artifact iron sword, in the same hand, and an adamantine shield in the other.

http://monsterhunter.wikia.com/wiki/MH3:_Long_Sword_Controls A good dragon weapon in general is the bane of Jhen Mohran. At least 3 Alat weapons are required to kill it in high rank, and unless you have an Alat/Jho weapon, nobody should ever be doing anything except using the cannons. People who jump onto Jhen's back the first chance they get and start slashing away with their Guan Dao make me weep.

Mother of god. That is a large rat. I'm sure my cat would love to meet it.

I am swimming in two veins of adamantine and have a master strand extractor working right next to the stockpile of raw adamantine. Most of my military are dressed in full adamantine armour+weapons (except hammerdwarves, of course), and I had some left over for adamantine cloaks... So I thought why the hell not make goblets/furniture.

Because it's a bad idea. Basically, this is how longswords work, you get it in offline and think "Hey, this is cool", and spam the spirit slash because it is usually more effective while playing solo. You then take your longsword online, where you continue to use that same tactic, and that's it, you become "sephirot", the bane of all hunting groups, the one who will trip the greatsword before he uses his charge, the one who will make sure the entire team gets hit by that lava beam because they are all trip locked, and the one who disrupts the hammer user and aims for the head instead of where he should be. If you really want to use it, follow these rules: -DO NOT spirit slash past yellow aura. Yellow aura gives you a 14% attack boost and lasts longer than the red one. -See an opening? DO NOT instantly use the spirit slash. Use the fade slash. -See a bigger opening? Use the infinite combo. -See a really, really big opening? That is your chance to spirit slash up to yellow aura. -Stay away from the head. The longswords place is at the tail and legs. (Applies to online only) Sorry if I sound incredibly bitter, but you do not know how many times I've been trip locked by a bad longsword user, just to be caught in Agnaktor's beam and killed by it. (I believe it's about... 11 times by now.) Also, there is no inherently best weapon. If you're good with the switch axe, it will do a lot more damage than the longsword.

Indeed... I always say real life is more important, but you should still designate some time where you aren't likely to be interrupted.

I have 108 adamantine goblets worth 15,000 each. Heh. Also, Mather, use Therapist and make a corpse collector, turn off all labours except burial, and then that dwarf should collect bodies and place them in coffins. Also, advice for everyone to follow - Dig down to the magma sea ASAP when you start. That way, you can use all of your fuel rocks for steel (Assuming you don't hit adamantine on the way, which is quite possible)

Oh man. I love SS13, but I haven't played for a while because it turned into a griefing simulator. Then again, I was part of the problem, since I always went atmos tech and flooded the station with Neurotoxin, or superheated the air so everything died. To Nex; No, no you should not. To everyone else; I just got back from a 3 day trip, if you were wondering where I was.

You know what is great against conga line invasions? Ballistae.

There is no trading. If there were, you'd end up with players who are really bad at high rank simply because they were carried by their weapons and armour, as it is, most players learn as they gain new stuff.

Er... I know how breeding works, and Mather, you are wrong. Why can you not accept that. If you were actually any good, you'd know to have a ditto of every (good) nature, and use that to selectively breed natures into pokemon.
-
The Back Room
You are so very wrong I simply cannot believe it. Five bagons? That isn't even a decent number. I have seen people who have bred hundereds of pokemon to get perfect IVs. Breeding perfect IVs is absurdly difficult and time consuming as it is, and an imperfect Nature will utterly ruin it. Nature NEEDS to be correct, or it isn't a perfect pokemon. Breeding and training six perfect pokemon, is therefore, nigh on impossible to do in anything less than 250 hours or so of gameplay. (Also, exp share method sucks. Macho brace/power items are the way to go.) (Also, the fact that you just got it from 1-7 in the league has already screwed up it's EVs, so nice job)
-
The Back Room
Mather, believe me, I know how to speed breed and speed hatch, and it doesn't work. It will still take months to get perfect IVs and Nature. Also, stat boosters only work to add 100 EVs I believe.
-
The Back Room
Without hacking the game, getting a pokemon with perfect IVs and nature can take months.

Okay, let's all stop arguing and let Archi do the balancing, because giving that responsibility to the player is like saying "You are fighting in this match and you are also the judge"
-
The Back Room
Oh, believe me, I would LOVE to watch you breed to get perfect IVs and nature, and then train it with perfect EVs, and then train six of said perfectly bred pokemon to level 100 without screwing up, but it would take years upon years upon years. Shoddy removes the grind, which helps the competetive players fight it out quickly and effectively.

Delta V
Mather, how exactly would they be able to reach through solid matter? That is stupid and overpowered, you can't have something which can just pass through all solid matter... Also, if they were sucked to the planets core, I'm pretty sure they would be crushed and superheated by their own weight untik they stopped functioning, unless they can function at several thousand degrees celsius... But I trust Archi to do the balancing, and not allow it to be completely one sided.

Mather, Earth and Nex, you completely miss the point of shoddy battle. Shoddy is basically pokemon minus the training, leaving just the battling. It's designed to perfectly mimic the battles from the games, so yeah. It's good for the pokemon nuts out there (Used to use it myself) and is purely competetive. Making overpowered things is what you are supposed to do, it's the entire point. Well, not really, since every good pokemon can be countered by something else, bringing in the strategy, where you allocate your EVs, Natures items, which moves to use, abilities, etc. It's exactly the same as the games, but without the grinding. If you don't like pure competition, then it is not for you, since it is literally designed to show who is best at pokemon without having to spend days getting a pokemon in the real game fully EV trained and levelled to 100. Rocco, you sort of miss the point too, since it is exactly pokemon minus everything but the battling. Nex, a lightning weapon if you have one, which you probably don't. I'd go with a fire weapon, and something with paralysis resist or just barroth armour really.
