  1. Wouldnt most people consider aids killing you if it causes a disease that you would never contract otherwise?
  2. If there isnt a scientific method of selection how do you intend for me to explain it to you? Your opinion doesnt bother me, as I have addressed whether or not you will admit I have is that there are bad mods we get it already. There are bad rs players maybe we should just end the game (insert other simple example here). What bothers me is that you seem to believe you are somehow right because you had a bad experience with a mod and proceed to put words into my mouth when I post and the fact you think we have some personal vendetta against you. Mods do have a very important purpose, they aid jagex in reporting serious problems such as the already mentioned advert bot for a hack or adult rated site. Yes, any player can report but once jagex sees a player is consistently reporting things that need dealth with they can grant them extra priveledges ie modship. The actual need for a crown is a subjective matter, but good mods function as mentors to other players; they are able to teach, help, and guide players who are new to the game and in general make things better.
  3. Because you won't give a straight answer. So you're afraid to admit that I could be right in some areas, otherwise a plain and simple yes or no with explanation would have sufficed. Bingo - Thank you, you have told me all I need to know. =D> I cant give a straight answer about a process that noone here is familair with. Quickly explain the entirety of quantum mechanics and if you dont your avoiding answering(see the flaw in your logic here) You are right that there are some bad mods, thats pretty much it. One piece of your idea being right does not justify the rest. If you claim that 1+1 equals 2 as part of a proof the moon is made of cheese the 1+1 part does not make the rest of the proof accurate. Glad I could tell you your own opinion  , again, just because one piece of your idea is good doesnt make the rest accurate.
  4. You called me unimaginative for providing a possibility of an infinitely old universe or a universe created by god to look infinitely old. He is stating that calling that unimaginitive is the same as calling you unimaginative for breathing the same stuff as other humans.(I also dont see how my model is unimaginative) Im not sure about the first part though
  5. How do you expect me to explain the mod selection process when noone outside of jagex knows it? Also, you can insult me and say I havent read as much as you want its not going to make you correct. Clearly, me acknowledging that there are bad mods and saying that the process may be refined is a clear attempt to stonewall your opinion. Its as if Im answering your questions to the fullest extent of my ability in an underhanded attempt to force my "absolute" opinion on you I already addressed that the mod selection process could use some improvement, and there are people that report just to get mod status. Almost all of your posts include a line saying I am claiming something that I am clearly not. Stop trying to apply a hidden meaning to everything I say, Im not Shakespeare, there isnt a metaphor to everything I say.
  6. I fail to see how your feeling that player mods talk to much is relevant, seems like you just have a grudge against them for whatever reason. My cop example is directed specifically your plan to eliminate all mods based upon your dislike of a few. We all understand that cops are not a direct equivilency to player mods, thats why its an example. Stereotyping all mods as power hungry or anything based off of a few experiences of your own is hardly reason to remove them. edit--we arent taking pot shots, your trying to use your personal experiences as a universal opinion which it isnt. We disagree at varying levels about the purity of the p mods, but it is not true that they are all report hungry and full of themselves.
  7. according to you I sure seem to know a lot of things that arent true Would as many people try to get modship if it didnt have a crown, probably not. Would the players that deserve to be mods still report people that need reported(serious offenses not report hunting) yes. Your argument focuses on a few bad mods that are a problem, and jagex probably does need to be more careful about who they select. My main problem is that you are overgeneralizing mods, some are bad, most are good players who are helpful. Most mods dont report hunt, and in fact mods are instructed to tell someone they are breaking rules before reporting if it is something trivial( for instance good mods wont report someone for saying that socks). Saying we should remove that status just because some misuse it is unrealistic. Should we remove the police because some are bad? Should we go to anarchy because government isnt perfect? Should we stop driving because a car can malfunction? The answer is no, and the same reasoning applies to mods.
  8. cough, he said those people were idiots cough. OO. Does that mean that mods are idiots in general then as all these 'idiots' want the crown? So we shouldnt have any mods because you dont like some of them? We all fully acknowledge some mods arent good, most are. Why should we remove something just because you had a bad experience with a mod. If a mod is breaking rules or whatever then report them, just because you dont like something is no reason to get rid of it. Dont quote sections of my post unless you're answering them. In particular I like the fact that you seem not to recognise that there is something wrong about using the reporting system to up your status, and not for the good of the game. You made statements so I used direct quotes from you. Excellent. the advert bot......and....um..................z.z.z.z.z. What exactly is the etc? you quoted someone as support for your point, but did not quote the part where they said their friends were idiots. That part of the statement is relevant because we all agree that bad mods are a problem There is something wrong with reporting to up your status, there is a difference between players who are reporting because they want to be special and players who want to report and potentially be a mod because they want to help the game more. intentionally warping what I said is attempting to put words in my mouth. I have said that there are bad mods, and they should be dealth with. My problem is your opinion that all mods are corrupt and that somehow your personal experience proves it. advert bots, spamming of obscence pictures through chat, stopping a flame war through speech or if absolutely necessary muting, explaing rules to a confused player. edit-- Thats true to some extent, the reason mods have a crown is so that they can be recognized as mods. Without a crown the classic im a mod and if you drop your stuff and press alt+f4 scam would appear.
  9. void mage only increases accuracy not max hit.
  10. cough, he said those people were idiots cough. So we shouldnt have any mods because you dont like some of them? We all fully acknowledge some mods arent good, most are. Why should we remove something just because you had a bad experience with a mod. If a mod is breaking rules or whatever then report them, just because you dont like something is no reason to get rid of it. Finally, stop trying to put words in my mouth, when I said mods are not absolutely necessary I mean that the game would go on without them. IMO they are beneficial to runescape, you clearly disagree, but you also choose to disregard that good mods can be quite helpful in situations such as the classic advert bot etc. Just because something isnt perfect doesnt mean we should just throw it out the window.
  11. For good results it needs to be on one monster for the 100 kills. Look at it this way, you are testing a drug to see its usefullness against the flu. If you tell people to take the flu pill but they decide to randomly take another pill it will throw off your results.
  12. pay attention to the words I used. Perhaps mods are not absolutely necessary, they are however very beneficial. The fact that good mods can be very beneficial in both educating and helping players is justification for their existence. Maybe Jagex needs to be more careful about who they select for a mod, but mods as a whole are a good thing. I could say the same thing about cops in the real world, are they unnecessary just because a few are corrupt?
  13. Marijuana should probably be legalized, its not much more harmful then already legal stuff(cigarretes and alcohol specifically). Also, its not as if banning marijuana has actually hurt its availability, does anyone believe the illegal status has made it harder for school children to get the stuff? If legalized, the tax money is one clear benefit, another is the harm it would cause to illegal dealers. With a legal marijuana it can be assumed that some company would begin to produce and undercut street dealers, this would lead to a fall in crime, and allow police to focus on more serious drugs such as heroin that have a much more harmful effect on society.
  14. Actually my personal experience is what makes me right, personal bias is negligible for people that debate based on other things then presuming we are correct. Sure, some mods do build an ego based off of their title, the fact stands that good mods do not. Many of the mods I have met are genuinly good people who are just glad they can be more of a help to jagex. Are mods absolutely necessary, maybe not, but nothing is quite as effective as a mod muting the classic rs3 beta spambot sitting outside of bounty hunter.
  15. let me guess you know this through personal experience  my best friend is a mod, and doesnt care about the crown. To him, helping enforce the rules is more important then any status symbol. Also, you can presume as much as you want, it doesnt make you correct.
  16. What is your basis upon which you claim that? Most mods would still want the ability to mute even if it didnt come with a crown.
  17. Heard this a few times, but it is a nice story could you remove like 2 lines in between each thing? The spaces do add effect but I think its a tad much.
  18. you may want to change some of your word choice, you sound horribly biased in some parts such as "Range has only one good special attack(Dark Bow), although enchanted bolts have non relyable special effects." while the effects are not a guarentee, single bolts do have a lot of hitting power Im not saying I disagree with the statement that melee is overpowered, but to call this scientific requires an opening post that is objective
  19. The ability to mute someone instantly that is saying stuff that can cause serious harm gives mods their merit.
  20. [hide=] [/hide] 1. You can have a certainty of 99.9 percent, but your margin of error is immense due to the whole you cant prove god you cant disprove god(referring to a god not any specific god.) 3.(where did 2 go?) If you note, what I said is actually a better backing for atheism then theism. The main point here is that if the universe is here currently, either conservation of mass can be violated or what we have now came from a past universe or god. If the matter/energy that exists today can go back forever without creation then a god also could. 4. Let me clarify this, evolution does not contradict with the belief that something beyond reality ie a god can exist. For a given religion/religious text there will be varying levels of contradiction with science. I dont follow any religious text, and believe firmly in science so there isnt a contradiction. 5. sure it doesnt prove god, but it shows that you cant disprove him(harms the 99 percent argument) 6. I devoutly believe in science, the thing here is you are over generalizing a belief in god into a belief in a christian like god.
  21. Here is the difference between an assault rifle and a 6 shot revolver self defense--both can be used to take out one or two attackers easily going on a killingn spree--opening up in a crowded mall with a revolver lets you fire 6 shots without reloading, thats 12 kills under the luckiest of circumstances. By the time you reload a revolver, most people will have run out of your firing range. Something like a tec 9 allows you to fire at least 20 shots before reloading and has a fireing range that allows for at least one reload before anyone could escape the initial firing range.
  22. Those are economic systems, and A Capitalist society with moderate socialist policy is the most viable at this time. I hate rednecks that think they are cute because they cant speak english, yes they really think they are real cute because they are illiterate.
  23. my advice would be to try and find a text copy of the qu'ran(spelling) online and read over it for yourself. I doubt Islam promotes violence inherently any more then Christianity does inherently. As for the spin of religious sects, I feel within this limited time frame that Islam is currently a little bit more violence promoting.
  24. that second paragraph was a little over the top rocco eh, Im sure humanity will still be here, if were lucky maybe a few of us even considering what medicine may become capable of.
  25. I remember reading over that from his wiki page, that we all owe mankind something is probably the best advice ever given.
