Hey, people dress like santa even in July. It doesn't matter if you look silly, as long as you're fine with it. You've just got to ignore the dopes online. Heck, Verac's super manly, and he wears a skirt.

Jan. 7 Poll Clues! Sailing Skill [NEW] Exploration Skill
Cheefoo replied to Gandorf61's topic in General Discussion
"There's something big on the horizon!" Yet... there was no horizon involved. Just stop getting all hyper because you heard the world sailing said by Jagex. Yeah, I'd like the skill too, and I think it's probably coming eventually. However, you don't need to quote Jagex whenever they say something even sailing related. -
"Goodness, gracious, great bird of fire!" Examine of the phoenix.

Okay, which skills do you think people can brag about? Which skills are difficult to train, slow and/or expensive to train, and useful all the way up to 99? I can think of summoning, and that's it. Maybe the quest cape, but that's not a skillcape. Why single out firemaking (and cooking) as n00bier than the others, when only one other skill actually meets your criteria for being worthwhile? Any skill you can brag about. Though it's not the best choice for training a skill that is alost never used. How often do people brun shades? How often do people make pyre ships? How often do people even make fires besides training? Here are some skills useful all the way to 99: Attack, Defence, Hitpoints, Strength, Magic, Range, Construction, Woodcutting, Smithing, Mining, Runecrafting, Hunter, basically anything that has increased efficiency every level. With higher firemaking, you may only light fires a bit faster, but making fires is near useless. I have nothing against the "easier" skillcapes, such as fletching, cooking, and firemaking at all. It's just firemaking has no real use except a few quests, a few minigames, and the ability to burn away your money. It's really just a waste of time is all, unless you like bragging. But if you do something just so you can brag about it is a little [bleep]y.

I don't think a kangaroo is as dangerous as a mammoth. It's rather hard to compare real world animals with ones that aren't existant. Maybe mammoths actually have some allergies to kangaroos that we never discovered, but I think a mammoth would win. Kangaroo as a high summoning familiar for fighting? Could it really be compared to the mythical dragons and great beasts of Runescape? I don't think it would be for fighting, probably as a beast of burden. That would have been nice, but we already have enough beasts of burden. Penance healer would probably outclass the bunyip for healing. I don't know about the unicorn stallion though, but maybe penance healers would be hard to make like phoenixes. It's just a healer though. Even though they're very powerful, I wouldn't want another one. Though I wonder how we would have unlocked them? Maybe you have to tame them in Barbarian Assault? That sounds like it would be a humorous quest. Skeletal wyverns sound like a great combat familiar. They're huge, undead, dragonlike, have deadly freezing breath, normally requires a shield to defend against certain death, and require a slayer level to kill! It wouldn't be that good of course... Could it? Maybe we'll get a skeleton wyvern later on, seeing as it did place in second. Hmmm, a Griffin? Sounds like a "mount" of some type. Not good... Maybe you could ride it as teleportation or something. I don't imagine it being a good combat familiar though. We have lots of teleportation anyway, I'd rather have an awesome phoenix than a new method of transport. Killerwatt, giant kebbit, and giant mole... They don't sound good at all. Maybe the killerwatt could give seizures to the foe or something. The giant kebbit could hide in bushes for a sneak attack (oh my)! The giant mole could just burrow around to escape... Not exactly a nice trait for a loyal helper. Maybe you can hide in the hole, go to a whole underground network, teleport a small distance! Yeah, all three sound unlikely, unless those were implimented, it doesn't sound that great of a familiar.

Sure, the people who call you a "noob" or a "nerd" are bad, but some people are worse. The people who sit around on the Runescape Official Forums making threads like, "OMFG BARBARIAN FISHING IS RUINED". In that thread, they whine about how "cut x" fish is now SLOWER BY A FEW SECONDS. Also, some other people are complaining like, "OMFG I WANT TO USE THE PHOENIX, BUT MY SUMMONING IS TOO LOW. WTF I HATE JAGEX!" They complain about nonsense, and can never let go of the past. It shows great weakness fretting on the past. Get over it and move on. Sure, I could just avoid the official forums, but what if I wanted to go there in the first place? I would have loved it there if there were none of those ungrateful, whiny brats. Some of them aren't so whiny, but think they're above everyone because they don't scream in all caps, or actually sound whiny. When it comes right down to it, they're just as weak as the whiners, they won't give up on the past. On a forum, you can't simply put someone on your ignore list. The whole point of a forum is to talk and interact with people, not just ignore them. If you're on the forums, you're a Runescape player, so what I'm saying is relevant. It seems that the idiotic "ur jusha noob" people playing the game can't think of anything halfway witty because they're in instant chat. When they're on the forum, not trying to defend their scrawny, insecure egos, they try and "leave a mark". What's the easiest way to do this? WHINE VERY LOUDLY IN ALL CAPS! It requires more thought than stupid insults, but requires no planning. I want a higher level in mining. LET'S RANT ABOUT IT! I liked the wilderness, and fail to comprehend RWT. LET'S RANT ABOUT IT. On the RSOF, where personality is the only thing to show, the average user there is probably the most pathetic thing you can find on the internet. Swear and yell, act tough and cool, "fight the power" by whining your rear off, get up on your mangy little high horse after flaming someone who doesn't agree with you, AKA, has a brain. If you dwell on the past, you're weak. Looking back blinds you to anything ahead of you, and you won't get any idea of how behind you are until you get your head out of the past. Maybe you don't want to notice how little progress you've made, so you look back at the past and start crying about it. Maybe you can't adapt to the world ahead, so you pray and whine and whine and pray, hoping some divine justice will sweep you up on the throne where you can change everything back to when you ruled. Look behind you if you're looking into the past, changing sides will bring you into the future, the only place where new things can occur. Play the happy music in your head and run those slides over and over if you want. Stay in that frozen hell if you want, weaklings.

Trade limits didn't affect me at I'll. I don't scam. I don't bend prices. I don't want free stuff. And, after dropping half of my money at one point, then totally regretting it, I'm not going to be giving away much. The trade limit only affects those who play the game in an odd fashion. Scamming is terrible, bending prices is rather sinister, begging is selfish and annoying, and givers can still use the party room, anyway. Oh wait, it did affect me in one way: Jagex hasn't gone out of business.

Nooby? No. Nooby in comparison? Somewhat. It's a proven fact that firemaking is one of the cheapest, most simple, skills to raise. The reason why I don't exactly like when people brag about 99 firemaking is, not only is it rather easy, it's 90% useless. 99 firemaking gives you nothing extra from 98. The highest requirement for something firemaking related is 95, and even then, it's something like wasting magic logs to burn shades. Don't get me wrong, it does take dedication and time to get it, but why would you get something that is barely helpful at all? I see what you're doing here. You choose one of the easiest skills to train, get it to 99 just to brag about it. Now, that you see not many people respect it, you start defending it, when, in comparison to thep other 99 skills, it's not much. Though it is harder than cooking, it's not nearly as useful. No offence, but you should have chosen a different 99 skill, as firemaking is very rarely used. P.S. Yes, I don't have any 99 skills, but I do have a quest cape if it really matters. I don't really see a point in getting a 99 skill right now, I just want everything at a rather high level. If you really want to challenge me, sure, I'll go get 99 cooking if you're an "elitist" of level 99 skills. P.P.S. I don't really think looking at the amount of 99 skills means anything. If something has low 99's, maybe people just don't need it at 99, or it's just difficult. The amount of 99's in one skill is completely irrelevant to almost any situation.

What the hell do you think? Will they really give up on Runescape, their most profitable game yet? Somehow, I have a feeling they won't. Yes, they may slow down on the updates, but it probably won't last forever, as it's a growing company, getting more employees as time goes on.

Merry Christmas everyone! Tomorrow's the big day, I can't wait! I got my brother a month of Runescape membership, I'm going to convert him. Muhaha!

I think it's mostly the full helm. If I want one piece of dragon armor, I'd get the full helm. The only other helm there is that's as good, and non-degradable is the Higgs-Boson-rare 3rd age helmet. The plate and legs aren't much better than Bandos defence wise. The strength and prayer outweigh the slight defence in most people's eyes, including my own defence noobish eyes. Of course, full dragon looks extremely cool. I hear they're making the dragon plate look even better, as there are so many complaints about it. Yes, that's right, I do like its current look.

I use Tipit because the people on the forums aren't total poptards. The site itself, I use because it has information about almost everything in Runescape in one place. The calculators could use some improvement, because that's the only case I use a different site for my Runescape needs.

Poor you.

I forgot to mention who that was referring to...

A friend was talking to me about Runescape for months, and I wanted to sign up. My parents didn't let me, and for some reason, I didn't have the guts to do it myself. For some reason my friend said that there are probably viruses when you download it. Well, you don't need to download it, but I didn't know that, and he didn't even know that. After a while, I went for it, and, there were no viruses. Mid October, 2005, the day I found meaning.

LMAO      I may understand that, but can someone explain to me? It's the half that's not there. They can't complain about nothin'.

Here's a tip: Choose to use good grammar. As you can see, by many responses on this very thread, people will often judge you by your grammar and spelling. You don't need to rush, so grammar mistakes are not allowed, in my book. This is more formal than some forums, especially the RSOF (Runescape Official Forums)(and don't call me a PWUATHTET, I'm just explaining it for future reference, as mmmorgan is apparently new to these forums). In here, you'll find intelligent (in comparison, yet it can stand alone) converse going on, and most of the time, people bother to have correct punctuation, grammar, spelling, etc. There's no need to abbreviate, as this isn't a race. It's fine if you choose to use bad grammar, but people will choose to lessen their respect towards you.

16th December 2008 - Stealing Creation Reward Changes

it would be to use the whole set. however it will cost more points and will break faster than using one item. Wrong way around. The whole set lasts longer than one item. After you get the set, every item costs the same to recharge, 20 points. It would be best to use the whole set according to my data, if you don't count the cost to first get the set. However, it depends if you need better stats. For rangers, it would only really effect accuracy, and same for mage, but with mage, you will use more runes if you'd normally use an elemental staff. However, for melee, you might want to leave out the clay weapon. It will use more points in the end, but you'll actually be able to use a good weapon. Another alternative is using only the hat, to use better equipment than the rest of the clay set. It will cost 25% more points in the end, but may be worth it, depending on the monster you're fighting, what style of combat you're using, and your stats. Personally, I think clay armor isn't completely worth it. You may want to just keep training right through, not wasting time on the minigame. However, for magic, it saves tons of money in runes to use clay armor. -

Here is the information I have gathered on the fighting equipment: Using one item at a time makes it last for 30k xp. That's 300 xp per percent. Using three items at a time makes them all last for 90k xp. Thats 900 xp per percent. Using all four items at a time makes the all last for 150k xp. That's 1500 xp per percent. However, using one item costs less points, of course. It may be a good idea to amass a stockpile of hats, as they're the cheapest, and bring them with you if you plan on staying in one area for a long time, and don't want to recharge. Using only the hat, I can wear better equipment in the body, legs, and weapon slot, than the clay that would be there. 5 hats lasts as long as all 4 at the same time. I'm 99% certain it's not only cheaper, but you can wear better equipment in the slots that would be filled with sub-par grade clay items. My xppp (experience per percent) are approximations, not 100% accurate. -

The more pieces you have, the longer the bonus lasts. I got 80k+ magic xp with my full set of mage robes, and it took about 53% off. So that's maybe 150-170k xp if you use the full set. I got that 80k xp in about 45minutes, by the way. I was using fire wave on black demons. I think you are able to get the xp bonus without the weapon, but it will last for a shorter amount of time. I'm not sure about this though, I'd appreciate if someone tested it. I'll try and get to it later, myself. -
Okay, if you read closely, I was never calling you stupid. I was saying that if there are people dumb enough to skip warnings, they'll just learn after a while. If they keep getting babied, they would never learn on their own, and become dependant on Jagex to hold their hand. What will this do? It will make people complain if Jagex doesn't waste precious hours making worthless tutorials. If you really want to play the game, you'll look at the warning, or better yet, use the Knowledge Base. Adding warnings and tutorials etc. everywhere would be a big waste of an update, and possibly make a whole batch of dependant foolish 10 year olds messing up the feel for everyone else. Sorry if you misunderstood me, I never was insulting you, I was just referring to the stupid people as stupid people, not you. Then you started spewing "Your point is weak, your post could be called 'dumb', etc. etc..." You didn't really point out why you were against my points, and I still didn't see any of that yet, and you started insulting me. I believe the insults started as a misunderstanding, as I never was trying you get under your skin. I just think adding more warnings would create tons of dependant stupids that will bother Jagex on wasting more time on more warnings. The players have to learn for themselves sometimes, but if they really need help, they can use the non-condescending Knowledge Base. Warnings would cause a bad group of young kids to come in, and make anyone smart enough to know what's going on feel insulted, being patronized every corner with a warning that you might stub your toe. The biggest reason why I don't want Jagex babying the players is because it would waste a lot of time making worthwhile updates. It just has too many negatives that outweigh the positives. The only real positive is that dumb players who don't use the Knowledge Base may lose less virtual items as they stumble around half blind through Runescape. If they're really that dumb, and would actually leave Runescape because they died once, I doubt they'll be staying around very long, anyway. Once again, I'm very sorry if you thought I was the one starting to insult you. I was simply insulting other people! Heheh... yeah, I know I'm mean...

You aren't trying to make me see what you see, you're trying to insult me. Have you ever been in an intelligent argument before? It doesn't consist of trying to insult the other person all the time, without saying anything convincing on your own. What you're trying to do is quit while you think you're "on top" by saying that you don't want me to talk about it anymore, while you insult me in the next damn sentence, going back to the topic you just said was taboo. You're pathetically cocky, and start hallucinating, thinking I'm saying totally idiotic things. Here's what I'm trying to say, yet you don't comprehend it: -It would ruin the feel of the game -It would create a wave of players that can't do anything for themselves -It would be pointless, as there's already the Knowledge Base -It would be a waste of time programming, as Jagex can be doing better things If you dare insult me again without giving any back up, you're just proving to me how pathetically cocky you are, so much that you're absolutely blinded. Either that, or you're some coward magician who thinks he can materialize stupid words into my mouth making me sound foolish. Respond to this without using false generalizations, and actually reading my post, and don't try and say "I'm not listening, lalala, I told you I don't want to talk about this," then insult me, and bolster your ego trying to backup your stupid point afterwards.
