  1. Then again look at the MSB spec that actually got "nerfed". Max hit with a MSB and rune arrows, potted and prayed with the MSB spec is what 25 (+/- 1), according to the Tip.It calc. So 25-25... then 25-25 was 100 damage which apparently jagex saw to be unfair in combat. Hitting a 25 the first time then a 25 the second spec with d claws you have said can total up to 99, wouldn't that be the same thing?? ----- EDIT: Then again now that I think about it, the D-Bow spec is like 48-48 max with void and that's 96 total. And they haven't nerfed that yet.. I suppose you are correct in saying that it's plausible to think there would be no nerfing needed. I guess Jagex has accepted the fact that their new weapons are going to do some damage, so for those that can afford them are the ones that can reap the benefits as well. I think I argued against myself rather effectively.. #-o INDEED!

INDEED, When a level 70 is running from a lv110+, it wont do much to the outcome considering what little chance they have of gaining the same (or greater) ammount of charges standing outside the centre. The only time I see running as acceptable is when the level range between opponents is within 20 either way give or take. (90 against 110), (50 against 70). Otherwise it's just a waste of everyones time and token efficiency, that's why people get angry, not everyone has ALL the time in the world for 10+ minute games when you could easily play 3 games in the same time and get triple the tokens. People don't play this game for fun (those days are over), they play it either for tokens or magic experience, both in which do NOT require running in any shape or form, it's a dead and shunned, time-waster tactic.
  3. Spec sounds overpowered. Anyone who gets a pair of these better put em to good use fast, I can see Jagex "nerfing" the spec like they did with the MSB. That's not how the spec works, It works like so: 1. You hit a value, say 30 (you WILL hit EVERYTHING after this point - your first hit makes or breaks the special) 2. Then you hit half of that value = 15 3. Then you hit half of that value twice = ~7 so you end up hitting: 30, 15, 8, 7 (=60) It works so that you ALWAYS hit double your first hit and I've calculated that the highest possible hit with these claws is ~43, so the max special is: 43, 21, 11, 11 (=86) which is very close to a 1HKO and almost the same as maxing with dharoks and since you can use the special twice, it's very devistating. This is what happens if you hit ZERO first. Your recieve 3 more hits, where the first is at full power. If you hit zero for the second, you recieve two more hits, if you hit zero again, your recieve on more. Here's it simplified. Ideal special: 40, 20, 10, 10 = 80 Failed first hit: 0, 40, 20, 10 = 70 Failed first AND second hit: 0, 0, 40, 20 = 60 Failed first, second AND third hit: 0, 0, 0, 40 = 40 Failed ALL: 0, 0, 0, 0 = 0 (duh) so, once you've hit some damage, it continues to stack on. There is a VERY low chance of the special hitting nothing. but, from what I've observed, the effects of the special (in terms of what damage is hit and when) varies ALOT. I believe it is the most complex special jagex have currently developed. Just have a look at the AGS special, that can potentually hit 75(+?) TWICE, so I dont think d claws are overpowered considering their substantually lower accuracy and strength. Though, if your first hit for both specials are 25+, it's an instant win against 99hp if the opponent doesn't/can't heal in between. (25, 12, 7, 6) + (25, 12, 7, 5) = 99 < BADASS I'll probably get a pair when the price dies down, I doubt they will be more expensive than a whip, considering the mediocre stats and lack of shield. stats: Stab = +41 Slash = +57 Crush = -4 Stab = +13 Slash = +26 Crush = +7 (It provides more slash defense than a rune defender) +56
  4. No. As far as I'm aware the idiot/not idiot status has little to do with age - it has to do with the particular person, rather. And 16+ doesn't even play, much less be a newb. FALSE. I'm over 16 and I play . . . but I've been playing for several years and am no longer a "newb". I was never a "noob", of course, because I have actual respect for other people. I got loads of friends over 20, they have WAY more time to play than me, so they have practically maxed out their accounts and are stinking rich. lol.
  5. Valid points, but not by as much as you think. The increased accuracy over D scim is minimal. About the same difference between bronze and iron. Str bonus is nice, but it won't increase your max hit unless you are about to in combination of other things, Spec is good, but damage still is not as good. Stab is a bonus. But where would you use it? Also, your thinking of 4-5 ratio is correct, but your thinking is incorrect. If you take out the randomizer, and hit the max everytime, D scim would win in a absolute landslide. Dlong spec or not. If you think about it, 4 more hits with +1 damage over D scim(best case scenario), is not going to offset a EXTRA HIT. Would you rather hit 25-25-25-24, or 24-24-24-24-3? hehe, fixed

  9. You got the definitions a little off, I'll fix them. Noob: Usually aged between the 9-15, as a result tend to be incredibly immature and are easily mislead by others without realising their wrongdoings. Commonly, they have been playing the game for a few weeks and have probably been treated poorly in the process, only being exposed to negative comments and harsh insults (often by other "noobs"). Therefore, they are complete jackasses to the wider community because they have no consideration for fellow players (that's what they have been subconsciously taught). Runescape was most likely their FIRST exposure to the internet. They view runescape strictly as a GAME and not a "social gathering", they believe that the game revolves around them (like would a normal 1P rpg). These "Noobs" can eventually progress and become more experienced, but they will still retain very negative attitutes towards others and could turn out to be too competititve for their own good. Newb: Usually aged 16+ (more-so mid 20s). These people have experience outside runescape (either chatting or other games) and have high respect for the people behind the avatars. If they are lucky, they are taken into a social group of more experienced players (being intellectually recognised) and are taught common game ethics and are offered much help to progress (thus loseing the title "newb"). If they are unlucky, they may frequently come into contact with "noobs" and be constantly put down and insulted for doing absolutly nothing wrong - this can ultimatly lead to a premature game-retirement OR (uncommonly) becomeing a "noob" themselves.
  10. I could argue against this, but it could turn out ugly. I just dont like the fact that you are suggesting that the d scimmi it's OH SO MANY zeros compared to the d long, when there really isnt much of a difference, especially if you've got a half decent attack level.
  11. These threads are assuming that Jagex hates pures. but in this case, it's like assuming that 1 + 1 = 2. Jagex definitly does not endorse pures.
  12. I actually have tried a few low level pures and frankly... THEY KICK [wagon]. too bad the drops are [bleep]ing [cabbage]house.... kill frequency seems to go DOWN as you become stronger, which is stupid game design.

  17. #1: f2p kills r not hard at all, in fact p2p has more luck involved whereas f2p requires some skill #2: simple...dont fight near obstacles...if u have some logic #3: if corrupt dragon weps had...specials...then the chance of a k0 is 100%...im sure u wudnt like that wud u? #4: im sure u have run like a chicken in the past too...espically when u mage like u stated #5: mages...IF u have a DECENT mage lvl u will inflict more damage using mage on rune full than with melee; of course bind is not meant to keep ur opponent from forever standing there like a dummy; if u suffer 2 much damage using mage...then maybe u shud try ur 0s with melee; ur range needs a bit of work as it is the most effective combat style in f2p #6: u just got the whole concept wrong...what ur saying is that if u started a fight with a 2h...u wud click...wait the 3-5sec..and then hit ur first hit...LOL; after a scimmy...u need 2-4sec to hit again...so...if u recover ur time...and 2h...then its the same as atking with 2h at the beginning of the fight... #7: safing is not a problem actually...it helps the person who DOESNT safe; besides everyone who safes is nothing but a scared wimp afraid of losing...200k in f2p? of course safing cannot b fixed...and ur got ur damage/eat calculations wrong... Dragon Weps: 31(scimmy) + 33 (2h)= 64 damage eating: 14*3= 42 healed result: quite an easy k0 f2p pvp happens to be dominated by range/2h combos as they can be tricky sometimes there are several pking techniques which can help u get ez k0s so try learning some of ur own... there really are NO issues in f2p pvp except maybe 1-iteming, safing, and drop tables (controversial) basically my conclusion is...u r a horrible pker who has no experience at all in pking and has no idea HOW to pk properly so stop whining just because u cant kill anyone or is rejected to a fight against a lower leveled player and try to LEARN i see lvl 110s fighting all the time in w21 and w32 Your arguements are weak and personalised. Oh and btw, REALITY CHECK, of course holding spells are meant to keep your opponent "standing there like a dummy" (is looking at ice barrage). It's exactly why mages should be feared. #6 - Lol, again, I'll admit that I confused myself in trying to explain this, but all I'm trying to say is: "Jagex needs to fix the fighting mechanics, so that if you want to switch weapons, you do it at a disadvantage, not an advantage" #7 - No, I did not get those calculations wrong: If you click fast enough you can eat 1.5 times in the time it takes for one of yoru opponents attacks. therefore, if your opponent just hit 3 ~20s You heal (maximum) - 14 x 4.5 = 63 hits (I know you cant eat a half, but that's in ratio to the attack rate of a scimitar) You take - 3 x ~20 = ~60 hits of course, you could be hit higher, but honestly, what are the odds of hitting 20+ 3+ times in a row in F2P?! this is an approximation, not literal and why the hell did you "correct" it with dragon wepaons when this rant is clearly F2P. Once again, scimitar/2h combos is NOT a PKING TECHNIQUE, it is exploiting a DESIGN FLAW, cant you see that? I dont care how WIDELY it is used...

  19. True. But a balanced played is at a disadvantage against say, someone with 90 90 70 stats, or some mix in that area. Balanced players are pretty weak all in all, just pures are weaker and simply own because people are too stupid or too cheap to wear what's required to beat them. Well... actually, I used the combat calculator on this site, and a 90, 90, 70 pure is equivilant to a 85, 85, 85 balanced, doesn't seem like much of a disadvantage to me... (I'm excludeing prayer on both sides and they are both combat level 97) Yeah, the 85-85-85 will win by far. As you scale up even higher, that 99-99-45 pure that seems like such a great idea will meet a nasty death at the hands of an 87-87-87 player in torag's dd++. Been there, done that. DD++ won't hit that much on 87 defence + torags, but 45 defence and rune = 2-3 specced. I didn't show a rune pure, I showed a barrows pure. By the time you hit 70 defence, your hardly a pure, and you've lost all that 'cheap armor' advantage. Now it's just 99-99-70 vs. 99-90-85 - the extra 10 strength levels won't make up for the 15 defence levels (assuming the 2nd player only has 95 HP), as defence is more important then strength at that level unless your using veracs. A high level whip tank vs. whip tank fight goes something like 0-0-0-0-0-0-23-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-70-0-0-0-0-0-29-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-41 making attack and defence MUCH more important then strength, as you are hitting\being hit much less then 50% of the time. And that 85 defence will still help against dd++ specs that will do nasty things to 70 defence with 99 attack. You can't crunch numbers like that on pvp. I was a barrows pure for ages, and it did destroy balanced builds. My kills to deaths, no matter where I went, were around 3-1 easily on people my combat. One of the things you're forgetting are that prayers raise skills by a percentage, which benefits people with one or two high skills over people with balanced stats. Exactly why Piety kicks [wagon] for a balanced build, +25% defense please.
  20. Ok... lets take a different perspective. You have ~20mil and the choice to buy either: Dharoks plate and legs for ~500k with most of your money left over. Or the Bandos Plate and tasstes for all of the money you possess. Both sets of armor are almost equivilant in terms of effectivness in combat, but if you had chosen the Dharoks set, you could have easily invested that ~19mil you had left over into something else that would benefit you, either combat or non-combat. So who's better off? One could argue that the bandos choice would look much "cooler" and more appealing, but really the dharok choice is by far, economically, the superior option. 19mil can go a long way, alot further than a set of bandos. But, if you have money to spare, good for you.
  21. ah yes, but you see, that's different, because random have NO POINT, whereas repairing barrows is preparation, just like restocking food or potions. Not to mention that 10 seconds is 1.6% of 10 minutes compared to 5 minutes which is 0.5% of 15 hours, but hey, I recognise that you were just taking figures off the top of your head.
  22. It's not the money, it's the hassle. Believe me, I've been using barrows since the day it came out. I've repaired my set of guthans probably 50 times. Sure, it only takes a couple minutes to repair, but after too many repairs it gets just plain annoying, like a bad random event. Hell, before the GWD I would train in rune or dragon at times to save the repairs. Bandos is a solid piece of armor with more than sufficient defense stats, a tiny str bonus, and it's completely no hassle. A full set of bandos looks better than a generic set of barrows and it requires no annoying trips to the POH for repairs. Not everything has to be based off pure logic, you know. Sorry, but your argument is still weak, 5 minutes of your time every 15 hours is still not a big ask, even if you're not useing the modern spellbook, you can just buy a home-tab from the ge, there's no excuse really. By no means I'm I telling you not to use Bandos, go for it, I don't really care, I'm just saying that Dharoks (or torags) is the smarter option. There are plenty of people who agree Bandos looks better, but there are also plenty of people who think it looks like a [kitty] skirt.
