22-Feb-2010 - Impetuous Impulses Improvements
Transcript of Dialogue from New Area Failed to capture all of it, sorry if some parts jump around. - - - Serpent Eye: Hello there. What's- Torsteg: HALT! Come no further! Hilda: Sorry, traveller. He takes his job very seriously. Hilda: As for you, traveller, I suggest you turn back. The Fremennik have fortified this area, and we aren't letting anyone in. I believe I asked what the place was, or what they were doing there. Torsteg: It is none of your concern! Hilda: Quiet, Torsteg! They came all this way, they deserve an explanation. Hilda: A while back, our seers felt a strange power wash over the land. It was unlike anything they'd ever experienced. Hilda: They were able to pinpoint the source of this strange power, and we quickly mobilised to contain the unknown threat. Hilda: Our brothers are ending their lives to this end as we speak. Serpent Eye: Why can't I come in? Torsteg: Because we have our orders! Hilda: Forgive our caution, but we Fremennik aren't known for trusting outsiders. We have orders to stop anyone getting in, so that's how it's going to be. Serpent Eye: But I'm not an outsider, I've completed your trials. Hilda: Regardless, you are on that side of the fence, so that's where you must stay. Serpent Eye: Oh, come on, please let me pa- Torsteg: YOU SHALL NOT PASS! (lol) Serpent Eye: Okay okay. I get the picture. I told them I have no further questions. Hilda: Very well, traveller. Be on your way. Also, some (fail) screenies: [hide] [/hide]

Would you ever get a Tattoo?
I just got my tax returns back, and I've been considering getting a third tattoo. <_< Just can't decide which, as I have about three different ones I want eventually.

Familiarisation - Corrections/Comments
Paw_Claw and Jabawoki13, Thank you both for your input and suggestions. I reworked the guide, and I hope it is now clearer as to what's involved in the game. I have clarified subjects as best as I could based on the information that we currently have at this time. In a few more days, I guarantee we'll all be back "out in the field" doing more research. :P With Jabawoki13's input we were able to confirm several clues that we were unsure about. You have both been credited for your help. Thank you so much once again, - SerpentEye

Familiarisation - Corrections/Comments
Paw_Claw, Thank you for your input. I am currently in the process of re-working the guide so it is more clear as how to actually play the game. I have included several of your suggestions already, and reworded the Requirements section; if you have any more specific elements that you feel the guide is lacking, please post them or PM them to me and I would be happy to see what I can do about getting them added. As far as exact numbers and data goes (in example, how many squares exactly does one need to say away?) -- if you have this information available, we're sure our users would appreciate you posting it. :) As this minigame is a weekly one only, we lack the usual advantage of being able to replay and research it as quickly as we normally could do. Thank you, - SerpentEye Edit: I forgot to mention that, while these changes are being implemented and worked on, they do not appear in the guide quite yet :) Thanks!

16-Feb-10 Familiarisation (POST YOUR CLUES!)
[shameless plug] When this next round of active Summoning obelisks spawns, it would be awesome if, when you're posting/confirming locations, they are exactly worded/punctuated as they appear in game. [/shameless plug] In all seriousness though, it would be very helpful to the Crew staff. :) We very much appreciate user input on update days, and you of course will be credited where credit is due.

Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief
Well, having the job I do is kind of a win-lose situation. Reading is my biggest passion, but I'm a huge movie nerd (hence why I love working at a theater so much.) Unfortunately, those two don't always get along, as movies based off of books are usually... well... yeah. If you are a fan of the Eragon books, you'll know what I mean when I say I facedesk'd while watching the movie. That being said, I've long since learned to never compare books and films based off of those books. That went over really well for Lightning Thief. As I said, I was entertained the entire time, and on the whole, there were probably only one or two things that I could have done without. (And these weren't even things that differed from the book -- mainly just issues with them trying to make the movie more "mainstream" I guess, by sneaking in a few cliched bits we've all seen and heard before.)

Reveal Confessions, Secrets & Regrets...
This disturbs me... We can only hope that you weren't at some point knocked unconscious and forced to skinny-dip against your own free will. However, if that is sadly the case, at least you seem to have no recollection of it.

Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief
Well, I've just got home from work, having just finished screening the new Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief movie. I love-love-loved it! Granted, it's been a while since I read the first book of this series, so that may have helped. I'm sure that several cannon facts from the books were changed in the film version, but nothing was glaringly obvious. (Usually movies based off of books [see: Harry Potter] cause me to scream at the screen in outrage of the director having changed key elements.) While I may be a manager at a movie theater, I don't ever claim to be a good film critic, so I won't be giving my thoughts on such things as directing, lighting, sound, etc. :P The movie kept my eyes glued to the screen the entire time, and I was wiggling in my seat, clapping all alone in the dark, and cackling like a crazy person. I think that Logan Lerman (who plays the title character, Percy Jackson) did a great job, and really hope he is re-cast in the announced second film! [hide=Aarrrgh! Here be spoilers!]Uma Thurman did a wonderful job playing the part of Medusa! <3: When she first appeared on screen, I burst out laughing. The entire Medusa scene was great, and, well, for those of you who have read the book, it's a shame that she... you know... was beheaded. ALL I WILL SAY IS: LOTUS HOTEL AND CASINO SEQUENCE + PERCY, ANNABETH, AND GROVER TRIPPING OUT ON LOTUS FLOWERS + LADA GAGA'S POKER FACE AS THE BACKGROUND SONG = AWESOME!!![/hide] Anyway, once you have seen the movie, please share your thoughts! And for those of you who HAVEN'T seen it yet, STICK AROUND DURING THE CREDITS. There's a funny scene at the end.

Books?
I hate to dredge this up out of the bowels of the forum... but I really, really support this idea! As it stands now, I know of one book topic, and it consistently gets bumped down in Off Topic. I've just been talking to a few people in a clan chat in-game, and several of them were also in support of adding in a Books sub-forum to Off Topic. (Tagging it onto Music, Movies, TV would work, IMO.) While there may not be THAT much discussion about books, I really do think several users would appreciate it. Just my two cents.
