  1. Dragon doesn't have amazing defense and will murder your budget forever. Barrows has to be repaired (which I find very bothersome) but even a dozen full repairs will still cost you less than a dragon platebody.
  2. I'd recommend alternating between agility and herblore. Herbs are slow to gather and potions are terrible experience, so herblore is slow. And as for agility, it CANNOT be bought, and it is the most boring thing ever to run a course over and over. You can't even semi-afk the task, you have to be constantly clicking the same things, over and over and over and over and over and over and over . . .
  3. Then play on a Quickchat world. 0.1% chance of getting reported there, since you CAN'T say anything offensive.
  4. This should be 1) polished and 2) moved to Archive of Wisdom -> General Guides. For one thing, it's "lesser" in the title, not "lessar" . . . and for another thing, few people kill lesser demons. They deal high damage for their level, are hard to hit, and actually have drops that are very bad considering other monsters at that level. Switch to fire giants instead. Capes should provide some bonuses. Same with gloves; please don't wear just leather gloves! Do some of Recipe for Disaster to get RFD gloves, or at least some dragonhide vambraces. Any of these options have better stats than regular leather gloves. Amulet of glory > amulet of power in every way. And it's cheap, too. You ought to mention that with a lobster cage it's possible to catch lobsters outside of the Karamja volcano. You should also mention the closest bank (in the Tzhaar(sp?) caves, by the way).
  5. He said he was non-mems... Like they said, yews, coal, steel bars, big bones, cowhides, and you could mine rune ess. Members can't mine pure essence, so that is out. Too slow! Bank big bones and pick up limpwurt roots to sell, they fetch a decent price. Cow hides are good, iron is not. Woodcutting yews is decent but you definitely need a high woodcutting level (70+ recommended) to do it efficiently. Lobsters are good money too as people use them to train cooking. Be sure to get the Lumbridge Explorer's Ring ASAP, both for the teleport when fishing lobsters and for the 3 run recharges a day if you're running back and forth to bank hides! Be prepared for a lot of boredom, too.
  6. With 70 defense and 72 range, I make about 550k in bars with ten tabs. Usually I only last ten tabs because I'm too tempted to teleport out and sell! (That's about 250 bars, by the way). Anyway, +1 to getting 55 slayer - broad-tipped bolts are for the win. In two days I've gained two ranged levels, one hit points level, and approximately 2.7 mil + another 500k if my stupid zammy page from a treasure trails reward ever sells. Aviansies will easily make you that money back. Oh, and as futher proof, I'm using worse equipment than you! I'm just using a god coif instead of an Armadyl helm, and not bothering with the barrows. You'll easily do fine. If you're still worried about dying the first time, bring along the pendant of Armadyl to wear at first. You soon will realize that you don't need it and will be cursing the inventory space it takes up.
  7. its not a guarenteed option as black mask is a rare drop but you kill enough that, with a ring of wealth, you should never take more then half an hour to get one. I almost always get mine within 45 minutes(a bunyip's timer) So, yes, it's not guaranteed. But, you'd have to have worse luck than me, and there's not much worse luck then that. Also, back to the whole range issue, Cave Horrors are in the cave on Mos Le'harmless. The cave is chock full of safespots to range the big, oversized, clunky Horrors in. For example, as soon as you enter, there's a pool straight ahead, with a spot running along the left side that is blocked off by mushrooms at either end so the Horror's can't get into it. Grab your bone crossbow, a tuna or two for just in case you slip up, and go safespot cave horrors. Range experience + profit sound appealing? And Ghoul, the safespot is quite obvious, so it's not going to cause troubles like at the fire giants. I have occasional problems with them pulling me in there too.
  8. Are you certain that you're only putting one note on each page, then clicking to advance to the next page? That was what stumped me. And by the way, I did it right next to the manhole, so that spot works, at least.
  9. As a grand prize, top hat prices are dropping below 150k soon . . . or how about the jester outfit from the Fremmenik Isles quest? Is that tradeable?
  10. I've heard its a bug, you should report it to Jagex immediately so they can fix it Er, no? It's a team cape. Unless you happen to be cape-less at the moment, it shouldn't be reported. If you don't have a team cape on, now, then it might be unusual.
  11. Try switching to a less crowded world if you're having problems, or just turn off public chat so you don't see all those "junk salez!!!!11!1/!!" spammers.
  12. Antifire pots lower dragonbreath damage to the low DOUBLE DIGITS. Lol, don't guthans dragons. Or at least take a video of it and post it here for us to laugh at.
  13. He's obviously p2p - f2p don't get herbs! I would recommend either chaos druids or abherrant spectres as well. Bring along a macaw to improve herb drops; it helps. You could also grow them . . . growing them turns a slight profit, which means every few crops you grow you could keep a couple of the herbs for yourself.
  14. I've seen lots of graphs showing the fluctuations in price of items over a time interval. What are those from? Are those part of runescape or is there an add-on program that generates them? Any help will be appreciated! Thanks!
  15. Sure there's a secret! Know what items people are going to want before they want them! Basically, you're looking for items that have low prices that you're confident will soon become more popular. For example, santa hats are wanted by people to wear with their christmas suits. So santa hat prices are rising. It's basically stock market speculation trading. Look for things at their low point that people will probably soon buy. Also, keep clan chat on a merchanting clan like A C I D Y or Chessy018 to hear what other people are currently buying/selling.
  16. Yep, looking at them now, range for you = win. You could consider dragon killing in between Aviansies runs to relieve boredom, but aviansies are going to be very profitable for you. A cheap setup for them will run you <500k (just to pick up a couple god items, that's all), and you can earn that back in under two hours in GWD. For dragons, bank the hides and bones!
  17. Aviansies ftw. In 4 hours there I made 1.2 million, which works out to ~300k an hour. I wasn't really trying, though, and with your higher ranged level you'll do quite a bit better. It's also fun! And as to those levels in your last post, it might just be me but I have absolutely no idea what they are . . . . they just look like a jumble of numbers . . .
  18. So if you've got a new question/discussion edit the original post and thread title so people have some idea what's going on when they see the thread title. Anyway, keep doing slayer, although it will slow down very quickly. The experience gained in slayer is equal to the hit points of the monster you're assigned to kill. If your slayer task is goblins and you kill a 5 hp goblin, you gain 5 experience. This means that slayer goes up fast initially but soon gets very slow. It's still worth training to 55 at least though. Broad-tipped bolts are very strong and very cheap, always a winning combination
  19. Don't forget to wear the Lumbridge Explorer's Ring for free bonus runes and experience.
  20. He never mentioned age . . . he said that he had seen about 17 SPAM POSTS by you today. I have too. It's annoying. How about instead of bashing the OP, you just ANSWER THE QUESTION? You know, like we're supposed to do in this forum? Yes, he ought to condense them into one post, but that doesn't mean you have to take time to bash him over the head for it on every single post he ever makes, ever. Honestly, I remember you bashing him for the same thing multiple weeks ago. Lay off already. And to the OP, range gains 4 exp per hit. Any attack style gains 4 exp per hit to the specific skill, except for controlled which splits that same 4 exp among attack, strength and defense, resulting in 1.33 exp for each. This means that unless the melee-er is using a controlled attack style, whomever happens to be killing monsters FASTER is gaining more experience. If a monster has 10 hit points and I kill 1000 of them an hour with a melee attack style, that's 10,000 experience to attack. If I used range, I might only kill 500, which will give me 5,000 experience in ranged. Got it? Ranged attacks faster than melee, especially with knives, but it can't hit nearly as high as a melee-er with a whip can. Hence, it depends a lot on the levels of the competing people.
  21. ???? What don't you understand? I'm commenting that money SEEMS to accumulate faster if you just always deposit what you earn and don't look at it all the time to see how much you have. And really, posting twice with nothing but question marks in someone else's thread? Not polite.
  22. The slayer master in Burthorpe is unique because he'll assign you a new task, even if you have one already that isn't completed. Changing it like this resets your task count for earning slayer points if you've done Smoking Kills, but if you haven't, it's a good way to skip slow and annoying/expensive tasks.
