  1. They simply need to build a subway system. They simply need to install a democratic government. They simply need to put a man on the moon. Saying it's simple doesn't mean it's simple. I think you mean, just because it's simple doesn't mean it's easy :P Yes, pretty much.
  2. They simply need to build a subway system. They simply need to install a democratic government. They simply need to put a man on the moon. Saying it's simple doesn't mean it's simple. Let's use some common sense here, if it was as simple as someone saying "let's open a 2006 server!" and having bob go put a cd into his computer and have it done by the end of the day we would have one now. Since we do not, we can assume that there are significant obstacles in the way.
  3. Not having enough foresight to see the effects beyond the first week of a 2006 server is equally unfortunate. Ask yourself if you would risk a lot of money to bring back obsolete content and try selling it to some of the most fickle people in the whole game, instead of acting like everyone is on a personal crusade to make you unhappy. Im sorry, wheres the risk? They have eras of runescape backed up. They dont delete the coding, or graphics. It would be extremely stupid to do so. This is how RS classic is there. All they need to do is set the start up which wont take long at all with their development team (lets be honest they can hold of SoF developers just to set it up) Convert some current servers to RS2006(or what ever gets the most vote) and they dont loose server money. People are way over dramatic about this. As long as they keep the servers open and not closed like they did with RS Classic. They would be fine. More than fine even. The risk is that there would be nobody playing long term. People who left after 2006 that would sign up again to play it have moved on in the past 7 years. People that still play Runescape would most likely be paying members already. People might play it, but there would be few who would pay solely to play it I'd imagine.

What's stopping them from having minute to minute price changes? I really have no idea and would love someone to explain to me why we don't have something this obvious.
  5. Would be far nicer if players could trust the market price was actually the market price. One update every 24 hours does not nearly cut it.
  6. I'm guessing you climbed up the tower from those support beams and scaffolding?
  7. I'd rather there be no response. This really scares me.
  8. Jagex has now completely forgot about them.
  9. How much do those obscenely rich players actually spend though? I always assumed they had sort of a dragon's hoard of money, no reason to have it other than to have it. While it's true they have the wealth of thousands of combined players, they also don't have the needs of them (thousands of sets of bandos, hundreds of thousands of potions etc). It seems to me that these players are effectively taking money out of circulation. Seizing their wealth would also only be a temporary measure. After all, there will always be obscenely rich people, whether it's defined as 100b or 100m. I think some kind of tax on traded (ge or player to player) items would be far more effective than just outright removing wealth from the rich. For example, even a .1% tax would remove 190k for every torva platebody traded, which happens I'm sure hundreds of times every day and is honestly not that much when you're spending 190m. It would also ensure that a fair, proportionate amount of gold is removed, instead of like you said, money sinks demanding the same amount from poor as well as rich.
  10. Actually I like death lotus a lot. It did kind of catch me off guard, but it's nice to have a high level armor set that isn't golden trim, bright colors, spikes and god symbols everywhere. Also it is assassin armor, and they don't exactly want to be noticed. (Fits this objective other than what appears to be a death lotus logo on the shoulder) It is Zarosian.
  11. Meleescape lives!
  12. Which is now no longer possible hence the last 5+ pages. Is it a legitimate solo? Woox's experiment was to see if he could solo the KK. However, scientific method requires you be able to reproduce the same results. Woox cannot, and so I say it is not a legitimate solo. A solo of the KK without the 1hko attack working properly is no better than if the KK did not attack him at all. It might as well be a completely different boss.
  13. Is that a bad thing? >_> Nexers would just go to KK/GWD bosses, I see complaints from many lower levelled players because of high levels camping GWD. We need a boss that doesn't require mass teams/top end gear, a boss based on skill. Ports armour could speed up rate of adrenaline or maybe something like damage/speed increases the longer you are in combat. This would make full use of the high defence while still not giving immediate boosts over Nex set effects, top-end however, ports gear would be very useful. Qbd. Sadly, the drops are valued so low just because of these reasons. You get what you give.
  14. That's assuming the Port set's effect would just be a scaled up damage boost. Also, while they're meddling trying to save nex from being deserted, they're steadily marching the requirements higher. In past couple months we've had I think the ranged prayer added and a power increase across the board. How about let the level 80s kill it Jagex?
  15. Why make Nex obsolete? Barrows, Dragon, Rune, Adamant, Mithril, Steel, Iron, Bronze among many others are not obsolete, and they don't need set effects or constant attention to stay relevant. This. They could have even made port armor have a defensive effect, maybe 5% of damage removed like the spirit shield's effect but without the prayer drain. Both sets would then be useful.
  16. Disappointed at no set effects. It seems like they're doing everything they can to artificially increase nex set's value.
  17. Not true anymore. With the exponential armor update Dragon Rider boots are 23 defence and bandos are 93. This means that bandos boots' weakest defence stat is magic at 29.
  18. I would agree with this if they didn't immediately hide the trails he so boldly blazed. Hell, I do respect him for doing just this and being the first(?) one to solo Corp. I do understand your reasoning. And to a point you make valid points. Where I think this argument falls apart though is the opinion stated by Jagex. To offer a different situation that shows what I am saying, I would mention that my favorite color is green. No matter how many people agreed that my favorite color is red based on past experiences with me wearing mostly red, driving a red car, dating a red hair girl, etc, it would not change the fact that my favorite color is not red. It is green. In the same way I contend that Jagex is the only one who can offer an opinion on whether this is a bug or not. They have and they at no point deemed it so. To digress to my example though, if Woox were to show why red was better than green; why I should changed my opinion, and I chose to change my opinion based on his argument, I could. That does not mean that my favorite color was red, or that I originally intended for it to be red. It simply means that someone changed my mind on how something should be. I think this instance with the KK follows the same path. Whatever it is, it was unintended and so patched. This is the problem people are having with Woox's achievements, they're not using the same tactics everyone else has access too. It's like someone cutting corners on a race and being allowed to keep his trophy. If the race track's borders were not clearly identified then of course he's not to blame, but he also shouldn't be praised for it.
  19. I would agree with this if they didn't immediately hide the trails he so boldly blazed. Hell, I do respect him for doing just this and being the first(?) one to solo Corp. Even then using a definition is subject to the context of the situation. If you were to play a much more involving game as fad as PVM such as WoW it would be so much harder to make clear boundaries for emergent game play. My point really is that runescape is starting to lose that blockiness it has as far as combat goes. You are going to see a lot more emergent game play such as what's come up. At the moment nothing much has come up, but I can imagine a few ideas... Such as using the bleed abilities while kiting bosses. Eve then runescape does retain some of its blockiness sadly. I understand what you're saying, but I really don't think it was intended to be soloable this way. KK is supposed to be the toughest boss ever and take a large (or experienced) team to take down. One player doing it with a few rocktails a week after release? It's definitely leaning towards being a bug, if nothing else.
  20. Pretty sure it's solely cosmetic now. However you can do the quest Dealing with Scabaras (I think) and get an enchanted water tiara which does the same thing albeit at a cost of water runes.
  21. Prayer flashing: Was being utilized for years before it was finally addressed. Requires increased input to gain increased benefits. Does not stop bosses like Nomad or Pest queen from using their signature moves thus taking all the challenge out of them. This bug turned KK into Runebound Behemoth, a boss far, far easier and completely soloable contrary to the initial design. You are correct in saying it was not bug abuse, however it is most certainly a bug*. It is a defect in both the plan of how KK is supposed to work and in how the code was written, allowing it to happen. I don't think anyone here is arguing for a ban, they just want him to stop being officially recognized as a skilled pvmer despite the fact that most high level pvmers could do the same given access to the same bug he was. * a defect or imperfection, as in a mechanical device, computer program, or plan - http://dictionary.re.../browse/bug?s=t I would agree with this if they didn't immediately hide the trails he so boldly blazed. Hell, I do respect him for doing just this and being the first(?) one to solo Corp.
  22. Can't see you getting more than 35m for it going by rsof.
  23. Think about it like this. You need a much stronger potion to boost 5 levels than 1 level. 100 is 100, doesn't matter if you get there by adding 1 100 times or adding 10 10 times. It shouldn't be any different. But it's not just adding 10 10 times, one of those 10 is from a potion and they boost damage differently now.
  24. Would definitely go with an armor set in your preferred style.
