I've removed the flaming & arguing from over the last page or so. I know this is the rants forum, but here you can flame Jagex - not other people. Be nice.
  2. Glad to know I wasnt the only one who thought this. A guy in my class was like "No, it started at noon" while I was at school. Thankfully I had everything ready. I thought this too. Ah well, I can still get what I want to do done. cant say i didn't warn you ;) I must have missed that #-o

  4. But what if you can't play each week? Seems like a thing only the addictive players can go after Then it'll take 40 weeks instead of 30. *shrugs* You can take as long as you want to complete the thing - I've not even done the original yet - but it's just that you're limited to 1 a week therefore 30 is the minimum. You can take as long as you want.
  5. Erm logic fail. This thing has 0 requirements to do in any skill. So though it will take a while it will be easily doable especially by newbs who are more likely to skill hop and get the stones every weeek - fortnight from their normal training. I don't see how his logic is fail when he RIGHTFULLY pointed out that it's something many players wont ever finish due to it taking a very long time to complete. The Runescape population is not the Tip.it community. We're probably the only ones who care. I think his logic is quite sound. Paw's at least - though Everyonedies is too. One: you can't know that, but two you're right. It is a status symbol, but that doesn't mean it's unpopular. Why do people do champion scrolls or make money to buy rares like party hats? It's all because people LIKE to have status symbols showing they devoted either time or money to something. Sure not loads and loads of people will do it, but that's their choice. Just like how loads of people don't PK or loads of people choose not to train certain skills - people have the choice. I really don't see how having more choice in how you play is a bad thing.
  6. Indeed. I'm really glad Jagex are catering to people who don't want everything immediately. I hope there is a decent reward at the end, but at the end not the beginning because people can't be patient for once and actually have content that can only be done over a long period of time. I'm really glad that every update they aren't caving into the instant gratification that the masses demand.
  7. I'll be picking Cyndaquil since it was the first one I chose when I played - my first starter ever <3:
  8. I'm gonna say that trade limits and PK changes were definitely NOT the worst updates. However the updates that allowed 26k/76k-ing to happen really are ones I'm not particularly pleased with <_< I could do without extreme inflation tbh.
  9. I remember playing Necromagus once and he completely pulverised me. I've never played competitively so my strategy is generally - hit the pokemon before they hit you and use pokemon with their type weakness. Other than that, I have no strategy :D
  10. Well one, none of us (at least afaik) are professional writers or editors. We don't do this for a living - something that actual editors do. They're professionals. The thing is there is a very short window for people to edit an article - particularly if it's been written during the week on a new topic. There's maybe two or three days, and to get the level of almost professional editing that you expect is impossible. All of our writers and editors are talented people, but it's sometimes practically impossible to make near-perfect articles every week. And overall, I think people would prefer we put out at least an article a week - even if there are still one or two minor errors, than nothing at all. I understand that it might be an issue, but it's one we will deal with.
  11. Am I the only one really angry at replacing Kris for Kotone in HG/SS? I guess it's because Crystal was my first & favourite game that I got attached to Kris... but Kotone just looks stupid to me :( I'll not care in the long run but in the wait to get SS at the end of the month (UK fail), it's just going to annoy me :( I'm excited to see my favourite generation remade though, if they keep it close to the originals it's going to be wonderful :)
  12. If there are any grammatical/spelling mistakes then PM Mirrorforced with them so he can change it. Simply pointing out that 'oh there are loads of mistakes' isn't helpful at all. Authors and editors are humans (I don't know why I have to keep reminding people of this fact) and can thus make mistakes.
  13. I like that mug... I'd get it if I ever used mugs :P I thought there were new runes on it for a sec before I realised they were the Catalytic/Elemental/Combination runes
  14. I agree with the second article, I dislike the advertisement feeling of the login page now. As a member I don't want to see how Members has an 'Epic' sized world or 'Creature Companions'. Also, I think in general it's a poor thing. It's going against the principles that MMG set out last year. He said he didn't want to make things geared towards advertising members but then he slaps on a huge ad on the login page...
  15. Y'know I'm really glad that they made it like this... I think it's great to keep it a longterm activity and not something people can just grind through in one week. I think it'll give a good reward at the end to those who complete it. Only we have to wait 30 weeks to find out what that great reward is :P
  16. The pics for the people to pickpocket from are ancient so I've got together a few updated versions for you to use at your leisure :) Man Woman Farmer Fremmenick Citizen Bandit (Uploaded to Thieving guide) Menaphite (Uploaded to Thieving guide) Also don't forget to change the damage that they do when you fail at pickpocketing to x10. I've not noticed them hit anything like 24, so I think it all just needs to be multiplied by 10 :)
  17. Tbh I'm thinking it's nothing to do with anything except randomness... I'm just sticking with the normal way I train things. Sometimes they come quickly, sometimes they don't. I don't think Jagex would want people doing certain tasks over and over - grinding for the rocks. I think the idea is that you train your skills normally and the rocks are like... extra.

OMG THIS IS AWESOME I can't wait... I really can't wait... Knowing my luck it won't work on my computer (like the original Portal) but I'm still very excited. Even though I've never been able to play Portal because my graphics card is specifically of the 'noob' type, I've watched so many YouTube videos :P I just hope they don't ruin it!
  19. Mining Level 63 Mining pure ess. Got the first one after 6 pure ess then the second one about two inventories later.
  20. I pay £3.50 using my bank account. I used to have to pay £5 using text messages though when I was a nubbier person :P

Of course... 3/3/10 - The day Runescape died... again. It must be a zombie by now, I'm sure it's died at practically every update
  22. Possibly, but since the whole thing is non-combat based, having a combat reward would be a bit fail imo  Also, welcome to the forums!
