  1. Who needs technology? I just set my alarm on my bedside table, as well as an alarm on my phone, that i put at one end of the room, and an alarm on my secondary alarm clock, which i put on the other end of my room. So I have to run around trying to turn off 3 alarms, which really wakes me up lol  You do realize any kind of alarm is by definition technology, right? Not if i use a sundial, and focus the energy of the sunbeam to burn my face at the precise time i want to wake - ah, there's no point defending this point, it's too hard :wall: :wall: :wall: That's still technology, just not electronic :P
  2. Yeah, I'd say so :)
  3. This is the same for me. Since I'm still a noob, a high level herb drop can usually easily be more than collecting coins.
  4. I've never really tried to quit. I started playing in about 04/05, but then I kinda disappeared off. It's not that I quit, I just didn't play anymore. Came back in late 08 and haven't looked back since :P (I did have to cancel members for a month though)
  5. 98 Woodcutting, 99 tomorrow :P
  6. Racheya replied to vb354's topic in Questionnaires
I sort of have. I remember after the first few days, going to the bank and being confused for a moment because I forgot what my bank looked like XD
  7. I take exception from that. I can get dressed in about 5 minutes. I don't do any make up or crap like that, the most I do with my hair is brush it. I don't really know how getting up earlier can be comforting for you :P
  8. Racheya replied to BluePixels's topic in Rants
We already have a topic for discussing Dungeoneering so I'm moving this thread to the Rants forum where I feel it's more appropriate.
  9. Heh, I highly doubt that. My bets are on the 1800+ Members whining the most. As for my opinion on the forum changes... *meh* They don't effect me really, since I never go to the RSOF.
  10. There's an alarm clock that has wheels and drives off into a random bit of your room before going off, meaning you have to get out of bed (and therefore wake up a bit) to turn it off :D
  11. I personally don't imagine it going away. Can you imagine a bunch of builders sitting around at break with a cup of tea and a Kindle? I can't :P Atm the internet isn't as portable and widely available as it needs to be. As weird as that sounds, it still isn't. A large percentage of the population still don't have things like iPhones and mobile internet. I imagine printed media would move to digital means within our lifetime, but not in the next 20 years. Personally I don't care too much if the newspapers stop printing, but if the publication of paper books is halted, I will be very sad.
  12. If you PM that to Mirrorforced, he'll be able to fix it in the article
  13. Welcome back to the Tip.It forums! Just so you know, you should post your re-introduction here rather than in a separate thread. You can discuss the new forum changes on the thread here if you like! :) Anyway, I'm locking this. I hope you enjoy your time here
  14. Don't worry, we aren't just taking an immediate opinion on the skill and leaving it at that ;) Expect more articles on Dungeoneering in the future when a better more 'long term' view can be taken.
  15. I think that I'm going to weigh the policies of Labour and Liberal Democrats up before voting day and decide, since I'm a bit torn atm. Since the TV debate and Lib Dem's rise in popularity, Lib Dems doesn't seem like a wasted vote. Tbh I don't trust too many of our newspapers. My dad is the sort of person who reads The Sun and believes it (lulz), but I think it's a load of crap really. A bit off topic, but "After attacking Gordon Brown for mis-spelling a dead soldier's mother's name, The Sun were then forced to apologise for mis-spelling the same name on their website." I lol'd. But yeah, I think that if it helps to kick the media giants like Murdoch in the nuts, I don't think it's too bad of an idea to vote Lib Dem :P
  16. Moving the topic to Help & Advice. It's answered already, but even so, since it belongs in there.
  17. Air Staff and 125 Death Runes (will get bloods asap). I have come across empowered staffs but until I get an empowered air staff I'm staying with this. It's useful being able to cast spells without having to make any runes straight off.
  18. That's right, I've finally made it to my first ever 99 and I want TIF to be there! We'll be starting in F2P (World 11) then moving to World 99 and teleporting to Falador to get my cape. Everyone is invited so please come along! :D Date: Wednesday 21st April Time: 9:00 pm GMT Other Time Zones: 4:00 PM EST 3:00 PM CST 2:00 PM MST 1:00 PM PST 6:00 AM ACT (Thursday) (lol I so did not steal that from TET :-# ) Location: World 11, Yews at the back of Varrock Castle If you're coming with me to get the cape then bring a Falador teleport ^_^
  19. I think it means that you have more skills used/resources in those complexities and you'll find things like ore to mine or weeds to craft that you might need to make into armour (eg). I don't think it has much to do with the dungeoneering level, except that the further down the dungeons you go the less ready made items/resources available (I think).
  20. DS?

Racheya replied to Goldenjkered's topic in Off-Topic
DS Lite I'd say. It's got a nicer, brighter screen without being stupidly filled with crap like all the others. I seriously want Nintendo to just STOP making new versions of the DS. They should have stopped at the Lite imo.
  21. I don't mind too much Labour's compulsory school, however it is worrying that the drop outs who just don't want to be there are still going to go which is going to bring down the level of education for everyone. If they can get these 16-18 year olds into vocational courses that they might be interested in then it's great. But in general the people who don't go to Further Education Colleges/6th Form are not very academically inclined and wouldn't want to be there. I find the Conservative's policy a bit irksome, I just don't see how saying 'yeah well if you think you can do it better, have a go!' is an effective policy or how it's going to help at all. (I'll explain my thoughts on Lib Dems a bit further down) This is quite an accurate picture of my view. Coming from a working class, north-west background, I'm not particularly Conservatively inclined. I don't really think I would want them into power because to me, and I don't know how accurate this is but it's my opinion, the Conservative party is just a bunch of rich out-of-touch snobs who value tradition over progression. I really feel sorry for Gordon Brown since none of this was his fault, but he's getting all the flack. Tony [bleep]ing Blair pisses off right as the [cabbage] hits the fan and leaves GB to deal with it. David Cameron is a bit of a smarmy git imo and seems a lot more talk than action. Like in the debate when asked about where he was going to get the money to fund things from he dodged the question like a pro. And the Lib Dems would be a nice win, but it's an outside shot. Then again, with the recent figures their chances have skyrocketed. Why? Between maintenance and tuition loans students rock up about £7,000 of debt a year. So a basic 3 year course results in £21,000 of debt. So everyone young who wants a decent qualification who isn't rich ends up starting their life with a mountain of debt. The problem I have with the Lib Dems education policy of scraping student loans is what someone in my college said today. If they get rid of tuition fees, who is going to pay for University? You can't pay for something without taking money from somewhere else and it's the 'somewhere else' that always worries me. I'm going to Uni next year and tbh I'm not worried about the debt. I think that the worry over student loans is too great since you pay it back really slowly and it's a small price to pay if you can get a good job at graduation. Well, when i've read up a bit about each of the three big parties before, i have tended to agree alot more with the Conservatives than the other two. And out of an idealogical standpoint i don't vote for socialistic parties. To make everything a bit more easy for me, i just took a test at Telegraph's website, where these were my results (not intending to make this a poll thread): [spoiler=Percentage agreements] UK Independence Party: 67% Conservative Party: 58% British National Party: 55% Labour Party: 38% Liberal Democrats: 16% Green Party: 3% I should also point out that i'm not too knowledgeable about UK politics which is why i can't come with any proper arguments. Well that's fair enough. Tbh I don't know enough about UKIP to make a judgement. But from an ideological standpoint I'm in favour of socialism.
  22. +1 to encouraging people to vote, dusqi I don't really think that you can complain about the state of the country if you don't vote. I think it's an important thing that everyone should do. @OldJoe - Why is it that you support the Conservatives? Just out of curiosity. What is it that makes you think that they are the right party?
  23. Figured us Brits might want a central thread to discuss the upcoming General Election on. This will be my first time voting since I've only just turned 18. I sent off my registration a few weeks back so I hope it's processed before May 6th. What do people think of the Leaders Debate last night? We were discussing it in college and I think a lot of people were impressed by Nick Clegg, Lib Dems have shot up in the polls the last I heard. Opinions? Thoughts? Edit: This thread now encompasses all discussion on UK politics, since the election is over :)
  24. Paedophile is the correct way of spelling it. Pedophile is the American way. :P

I'll tell you what's more dangerous than that little chant - TV! I went to a Church of England school for 7 years, did hymns EVERY day and am I a Christian? No. Do you know why? Because I watched [bleep]ing STAR TREK.
