  1. Ely reduces damage taken by 17.5%. Chaotic only reduce damage that would hit over 200 by 20%. So ely is still better. Not to mention it doesn't degrade, has +3 prayer, and no negative offense. however, it has less defense. Instead of having a billion gp street value, Chaotic shields cost hundreds of hours. So; You decide, Time... or money. I guess the argument also goes "You can always sell it back after" For the moment; Elysian is still falling, even with a inferior shield, the shield is still 0gp (Not counting potential loss due to time, however)
  2. He bought at GE Min before. And with the rogue nerfed, everyone will be dumping gold amulets and it'll be impossible to sell. Unless you plan on losing items with alot of street value..
  3. I'd say go for herblore first. Having either turmoil or extremes is almost equal in terms of damage per second. I chose prayer personally; and when I want to Monsterhunt, I can't use brews for food, which means I'll get much less kills per trip. Unless you love PvP, stick with herblore.
  4. +4 in stews is A LOT rarer than +3. You can expect a +3 every few drink, but +4 is very uncommon. I tried stewing to ext range pots at 88 herblore, and I barely ever got a +4 boost. Once you get it, however, you can log out and constantly make some, but I have a bank pin... WTF have you been smoking? +4 is 1/10... And even with pin, I can make 1.5 invies before it drops one level, of normal x pots. OVS you make fewer, so its even faster. Exactly... 1/10 is rare. I suppose you only need to get it once, though. I could still make a ton more with 93 herblore (well, obviously), with a lot less trouble. I guess I'm saying this because I have no issues with blowing a crap load of money on herblore anyway (going for 99), so doesn't apply to most people. Edit: It's also almost 4/20... So there Wow, I open this thread to see pictures and I see wall of text. Anyways; Red Eyed is using a bug which keeps his herblore level boosted for the whole 30 minutes (I consider having your temp level boosted semi permantly is bug abuse), so 1 stew would be enough for him. The best herblore level to use boosts on is 95, Greenman's ale is so easy to obtain. And if you guys were talking about Otg; They require it simply because you will have to make more in the close future, and people get annoyed when you say 'out of overloads, gotta brew some more'. Last but not least; Unspam lol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zg4T_EaA0kI Ah, the memories. And why Otg; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNR3wv8f-ww https://spreadsheets0.google.com/ccc?key=tFr-0QsqK66rLX2wiVsOGpg&hl=en Double post but last post was stupidly long, so meh. Mods merge if you feel like it. Herb cleaning calc on google docs. >_> Made it myself for the lulz Merged~ Rainy_Day
  5. Actually, what you've shown is Corp might halve Leaf-Bladed Swords and Vesta Long Swords. That says absolutely nothing about others. What about the Hasta? I know no one uses it, but it's a one-handed spear. The word Hasta is latin for Spear. What classifies a weapon as a "spear" and what doesn't? I know there's a 50% damage reduction in place, primarily because Dark Bow special attack damage is halved. But we don't know what it effects, and "non-spears" is most certainly wrong. Doesn't poison work to full effect? Poison is not a spear. I also remember using the Dragon Dagger on the Corp a long time ago to decent effect. It could effect Hastas. It might not. It could affect Rapiers. It could not. It could even be a given list of weapons, in which case, Jagex may or may not have added the new Chaotic Weapons to that list. For all you know, the Chaotic Longsword could do double damage to the Corp... I'd also like to point out I've heard a million forms of this. Some people say it halves range damage. Some people say it halves non-spears. Some people say it halves STABBING non-spears. Some people say it halves Swords and Longswords. Hastas get reduced too, if it literally has the word "spear" in it it doesn't get reduced, or you would be seeing hasta + shield over lbs Poison is not a weapon Hastas get reduced, and surely rapiers will too For all you know Chaotic Longsword may hit 10x higher on all dragons, still doesn't mean its going to happen Do you actually have proof that Hasta's get reduced? I don't see videos of it anywhere. What about rapiers? There already ARE rapiers in this game. Have they actually been tried? And we've only recently gotten a melee weapon that gets a nice damage and attack bonus against Dagannoths - Balmung. It's quite possible, especially as they have no special attack, that the Chaotic Weapons may get a bonus somewhere... why not against the Corporeal Beast? I think I'm going to have to go with the dude that no-lifes Corp... :D If stabbing weapons weren't halved, we'd be seeing people using VLS + Divine to solo 2 kills/trip at corp, easily covering the cost of a non-corrupt VLS. Never tried it myself, but I'll just assume it halves everything but spears. I've tried Dragon Hally, and it definitely gets reduces, so that's all I can say. We know for a FACT that dbow gets halved. Ruby (e) bolts don't hit the 4000 that they should. They hit 1000's instead. This will be 'an exception'. We can be pretty certain that leaf bladed swords are halved too from the vid, there were probably what, 400 hits on the Corporeal beast? None hit anything above half of the max damage they could hit, thus it's reasonable to theorise they are halved. For Vesta's Longsword... Hard to 'prove' but the theory of corporeal beast halving all non spear damage seems to apply. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zg4T_EaA0kI
  6. We are also told their stats. Assuming they are the same speed inside the dungeon and outside, they are whip speed. Which makes whip/Saradomin Sword inferior. However; It takes many hours (like getting several sets of void in terms of time) to get so it wouldn't cause too much effect on those weapons. Elysian is feeling the effects of the new shields though; They are being panic sold right now, not sure about prices yet though.
  7. If you mean the massive xp gain; It is known to be only for Rc. Possible to have affected something else but not likely, since the system update that caused the bug was a patch to 'fix rc xp'. If you mean rollback; they rolled back time. Like rewinding the clock 30 minutes. But you remember what you did.
  8. Fixed Bad wording. I meant it would take the time of getting 1.1m xp, tokens are gained at a rate of 1/10 of the xp you get. Rounded down.
  9. I fail to see some of your logic. Whips aren't used solely for training, so why assume the Chaotic rapier will be? Would you really want to waste 110k tokens (1.1m+ xp worth) on the bonecrusher? The time spent getting it will probably outweigh the cost of moneymaking and buying the bones. I think getting a Chaotic Rapier will be worth it. Turmoil/Overloads are aimed for because they make you damage higher per second. So the same should apply to the Chaotic rapier. The Longsword... I'm not sure about that, but I prefer Dps over the high hits. I'll just shoot for the Maul if I want to hit high. And lastly; We don't know the specials yet. They might/might not have them, it's a newly released item, which probably explains why they aren't in the knowledge base, assuming there will be special attacks.
  10. Ags is not worthless; In Bh+1 worlds, you can just risk your armour, not a whip too (adds up if you die a few times a day, which most people do). However; It isn't really worth the cost if you don't PvP, Whip and Dragon Claws beats anything with medium or lower defence. Follow what String says.
  11. Every single glitch that gets abused this is said. And every time there's the same reply: 1) It's against Jagex rules to abuse a bug; 2) They didn't do it on purpose. If people abuse it, it's breaking Jagex' rules, and they should actually be banned, they're lucky to have a rollback instead. Lol? So playing the game (you lost) normally should get you banned? What for? Making a few runes to beat the Tribrid boss? It is so easy to 'accidently' abuse this bug, unlike the PvP ones for massive death heat. The fact that Jagex responded fast is good, the sad part is some people who were at Gwd/Dangerous areas will lose their items. How are you going to seperate abusers, and people who just made runes and didn't even realise the massive gain of xp (99 means no level up)?
  12. Only need 3 more herblore levels before you can enter Otg, the elite monster hunting Corporeal beast pwning clan. Oh and you need 2 referals... >_>
  13. If you kill 1000 chaos druids, that gives you 5K prayer XP. There's a reason people don't bother picking them up. Even so, just carrying the bone crusher on slayer tasks would give a steady (even if small) trickle of prayer experience, saving potentially millions on dragon bones in the long term. That 5k exp you got from killing the chaos druids alone saved 92k in dragon bones... Agreed. I mean, I'm killing thousands of monsters and just leaving the bones lying there, and I'm really too cheap to purchase the bones, so this is a good compromise. Yeah, I'll agree that it's better than nothing, but it's certainly not going to "speed up prayer massively". And I seriously doubt that the time you spent getting the 110K tokens will be offset by the benefit that you get from having it. I've been playing it a ton lately and I don't know if I even have 1K tokens yet. If it takes me a year (or several!) to get the Bonecrusher, I find that pretty hard to justify. Umm, the skill gets faster to train when you level up. That applies to all skills, what's so hard to understand about that?
  14. Depends on the type of player you are. If you bosshunt/Pvm more, overloads definately. If you're a pker, turmoil. Got it? Saradomin brews instead of food makes EVERYTHING easier, whilst turmoil only makes you hits higher.
  15. L post removed. Oh well, fun whilst it lasted.

Seriously, if you want proof, solo Corporeal beast yourself and see how well you hit.
  17. The 'skill/minigame' was thought out to be a new thing for clans, I guess it would be fair to say. I'd say it's hard to predict what future xp rates will be. Look at summoning when it came out, patch 2 made it much faster by adding charm drops to more than 20 extra monsters. We'd just have to wait a little I guess. Surely if they expect level 120 to be achieveable, it would have to be a somewhat fast skill to train. Just worth noting; level 120 = over 104m xp.
  18. Nice tip; not much of a topic to discuss though.
  19. How does that prevent it from being the great weapon that it is? It's like saying "I prefer bronze over bandos cause it looks moar kewl" I'd get the rapier, and maul. Dps = Everything. Unless in pvp. Don't forget; Size doesn't matter.
  20. I just don't understand the complexity part. Does complexity have to go up proportional to floor levels or not? Confused >_> and Nukearcher is viewing this topic zomg
  21. Corp is weak to stab with a spear Corp is weak to stab with everything else, but damage is halved Whos [wagon] did you pull that out from? I dunno... people who corp a damn lot?
  22. Rofl, have you ever pked my friend? Maul with no special will be crap. Fast medium hits that outhit your opponents food > High slow hits that your enemy can eat away from. Ever seen a whip where it combo's 5 40+ hits in a row? gl eating that out. The irony of this post is amusing. Something that hits high randomly is always better than a weapon with no k0 ability but high dps. And outeating 5 40's in a row? What's the chances of even hitting 5 40's in a row, and what's so hard about combo fooding with summer pies? I'd say most of these weapons will have special attacks. How good they will be, will depend on what it is. For now, I'd wait for the 'pro' dungeoneerer's (weird word >_>) to get one of these weapons and post the special on youtube.
  23. There was nothing right about people gaining 1M RC exp in 5 minutes. It's been said already that only the highscores went back 12h and the game will only be rolled back 30 minutes. That's not that much time considering the impact the bug had on exp. One specific rune I made got me 1m xp....
  24. Longsword will be slower than the rapier. Thus it is easy to assume more dps from the rapier than the longsword. It is also better than a Zspear for dragons too.
  25. 10% =/= 30% reduction. But it's good in terms of no prayer drainage and can be used without any prayer points sounds godly for Dk's. I think the 'high end' spirit shields might crash street wise and reach a equillibrium roughly 3/4 of it's ge price... or something. I wouldn't know, so easy to manipulate.
