Quest 150
I assume you are putting Dharok's axe under "PVP" weapons. I agree, we could use a good PVM weapon with decent speed and a nice crush bonus.

Gravestones: Death not so Serious?
Gravestones have ruined the concept of death. I remember I used to scared to wear my fury in high risk areas because it was an instant huge loss. Just another Jagex mistake in a long run of them. I think a false choice is being presented here though: you could just get the normal spawn time that you would get if you dropped an item on the ground. It doesn't have to appear to other people. Blessing could be shortened.

Quest 150
I hope the reward does not involve another dragon item: Dragon Warhammer- You can throw it in your bank or alch it.

RS Died one year ago today
I laughed :-w There is no doubt that there were sweatshops that DIDN'T macro for gold; that being said, I would assume the vast majority did - it's just simpler and faster then having an actual person play. However, eliminating macros would not have solved the RWT problem - the sweat shops would have simply moved on to people. Not that there is any anti-macro system that I'm aware of that isn't overly-invasive. Gold farmers and macros are two different things. The macro is the program like the autoclicker, and the goldfarmer is the guy who sits in front of the computer doing work that is too complicated for the macro. To contradict you both, neither gold farmers nor macros nor PKers were the underlying problem - it was the large RWT companies. Anyone up for a reading comprehension lesson? I am aware of the differences between Macroers and Goldfarmers. It looks like Compfreak didn't even quote it correctly, he is mixing in the comments of two different users (me and the other moron) Me: Without macros, there is no RWT. Macros were the problem, not Pkers. Him:Come on Kid! are you framiliar with the term, "gold farmer"? Me: You need to take a 3rd grade reading comprehension lesson. And then, in the following post I made the point that Pking was only one of the many ways of transfering gold exc. They should not change the game in a way that negatively effects playing. Practically every other MMORPG online has open trades for a reason: Players prefer them.

Iddison resigns as Jagex CEO, replaced by Mark Gerhard
This speculation on why he left is a little fun. I haven't seen any indication that Iddison has been hired to a new position yet. The finincial figures that Ren posted had very little to do with Iddison's tenure, and showed no problems. When Constant Tedder resigned, as far as I know, there was no more information on the resignation then we currently have on Iddison's resignation. I have always guessed that the small company that Constant Tedder started probably outgrew him, but this is clearly not the case with Iddison. Obviously, we will just have to see if there are any major changes in the activites and business that indicate what direction Jagex may have indended to take, if any.

Shockingly awful grammar
Anyway, you don't type like a moron in a conversation "because it's laid back" for the same reason you don't talk to strangers like "Yo u gots tiem" (try pronouncing it) then justifying him questioning your gene count with "But iz layed bak convo, nub". That being said, if someone posts a well thought out argument or point, and your only response is: their Then it shows the person pointing out the argument has just about the same maturity level as someone who posts "OMG DEM N0BS R CRAZY" as a rant, or the people on the RSOF who continue to whine about how Runescape hasn't entertained them in over a year, yet they still pay for membership. Very impressive effort to drive this off topic with flaming. You came so close, it was almost good enough. :twss: The point I am trying to make that this is casual conversation, and you have to realize that the audience is young, and accept that there may be some bad grammar and stupid 1337 speak. I think the majority of people in the game understand the basic online jargon. People who expect college level grammar perfection are in the minority. I have never ran into a situation where I could not understand what someone else was saying. If you think a game full of young children, people who don't speak english, and lazy people like me will reach a level better than any of that, then your expectations are set too high. [waits for the 50 page western-culture-is-declining rant.]

Dragon Scimitar v Dragon Long sword
Get a whip. This would be a real debate if it were the Rune Schimmy Vs. the Rune long for F2P PVP. I didn't even know there was a debate here. The only people who think the D long is better than the D schimmy are nubs with Granite plates, obby shields, and D meds, with 71 str, who are too scared to do Monkey Madness.

Anyway, I hope this new minigame will provide a worthy alternative to traditional slayer training, and perhaps additional incentives to train slayer as well. Most importantly, it should give worthy rewards in order to keep from descending into irrelevancy, as minigames like Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup, Gnomeball, and Gnome Restaurant have done. It's not enough just to be fun. I think the Rogue's Den is rather entertaining; it's just that there's no meaningful reward for it, so it feels like a waste. Hopefully Soul Wars will have gotten the same kind of development time that Mobilizing Armies is getting, and Jagex won't be afraid to push the rewards a little. If they nerf slayer I fear that the quote in your signature will become a reality. I'm looking forward to the random update though(hopes for 2nd set of all random clothing.. bank placeholders please?) Faster slayer experience would not be a nerf...what are you talking about? That would be the exact opposite of a nerf. #-o Yes, I agree. Faster is better. The fact that there is no way to make a profit in most skills is great. The fact that some people worked for years to get high levels only to see their accomplishments and profit potential ruined is also a major advance. In fact, I think runecarafting is just too hard to train as well. They should just create a random event that gives you 500,000 nature runes and 13,035,000 experience in a lamp. That would be a major step forward since it is faster. IMO DIFFERENT is fine, but FASTER isnt. Jagex could insert faster ways of doing things at any time. They could double the exp rate of doing any given thing at any given time. That is not a change or innovation to gameplay. They could give 1,000,000 exp for killing one Bloodveld, that would not make it a innovation to gameplay. If jagex followed your path, it would also have the unfortunate side effect of getting rid of that little "slayer" aspect of Slayer. But really, what an irrelevant concept! Minigames are just a very poorly designed way to cover the mistake of skillcapes. Also becasue of the failure of the Grand Exchange to stop unbalanced "junk" trades, they need a way for people to gain exp without creating junk, so they made a bunch of junk minigames.

Why not? People are so elitist about slayer its sad. I didn't spend a year getting 85 slayer to sell whips for 50k, thanks. Let's not ruin one of the very few remaining respected skills after SC came out. Even with Slayer being EXTREMELY hard to level, prices are so low that there are better cash cows in the game.

Your opinion is meaningless to me, and most of this board. You refute simply to spark arguments, no more. I "refute to spark arguments"? So, when everyone else posts, they don't expect anyone to argue or disagree with them? Unlike you, apparently, I don't come here to get sympathy or be reassured by yes-men. Im not changing my username just becasue you don't like my opinion on that matter. I think just about everyone who posts tries to "Spark arguments". In fact, I think that your crowd complains when posts don't "spark arguments". Even on the help and advice forum I see complaints like "this has no discussion value" and "the herd needs to be culled" and other garbage. I was registering my opinion that the melodrama that some people display when they see a misspelled word is insane. I have read 5 page rants about the decline of western culture that began over a misplaced comma.

No you won't. :P But seriously, I don't think we should worry about massive exp rewards for Slayer being released, Jagex aren't stupid enough to do that imo. As far as I'm aware, the last minigame that increased the amount of exp/hour significantly was Pest Control. ;) DO NOT DOUBT ME. But, I do agree. I'm a little worried, but I can't imagine that Jagex would ever do that. I think if anything, it'll be a way to train Slayer safely, but for significantly reduced experience. even that would be bad :shame: Oh ppffftt. Now listen, all you naysayers. Did you have a freak-fest when Sumona's rewards after Smoking Kills allowed players to cash in for Slayer EXP? No. (Or if you did, you REALLY didn't understand how the system worked.) Chances are you'll be able to obtain SOME slay exp OR other rewards--which will probably be more useful than some cruddy 3k slayer EXP for 20min worth of work. Yeesh. Well, actually, 9k per hour is fairly good slayer exp depending on the situation. They had better not even give ANY slay exp.

Lawlz. Its funny, Becasue its true. But seriously, not all of the updates this month are bad. It will be nice not to have to deal with giving price checks when Im in the middle of fighting a monster. The upgrade aspect continues, and I wish they would zero-in more on that and less on ez-2-skill minigames.

Shockingly awful grammar
Thank you for proving my point, you idiot. ha, gotta love this, a group of kids with too much free time and too little to fill it with trying to tell everyone how to play their game and communicate properly. I shudder to think at the number of hours you guys waste backspacing to fix typos. yet you act that because you are able to speak in an intelectual manner on an online game forums that you're all incredibly clever and part of an 'elite.' I think its laughable and i mock you all for it. be honest to yourselves, its an online game forums, not an essay, no one with decent lives could care less. just give up with the SPAG rants, they wont get anywhere, and theyre only made to reassure yourselves of how clever you are. congratulations. Kids? Really? Sorry, I'm a college student. On the internet, you are sized up by how you convey yourself through text. Be it on these forums or in Runescape itself. Mocking those who hold grammar in high regard in an environment where it is the main catalyst of your intelligence proves your own ignorance towards the matter. To further pigeonhole your statement, I implore you to come and watch me type. I assure you there is very little back-spacing going on ;) Finally, to claim this argument has gone nowhere clearly means that you spent little to no time reading the 5 pages of posts that primarily agree with my original thesis. All you have on your side is 8 year olds  In other words, Polnar, check your spelling, otherwise people like this guy will moan non-stop about it. You might try to resist at first, but eventually they will throw so many pathetic fits that you will be faced with the option of shooting yourself, or checking your spelling and grammar.

I really hope slayer is not dumbed down in this minigame like so many other skills have been with the release of new minigames. The "Exp rewards" they talk about scare the hell out of me. I worked for years to get my slayer level and I am going to be very annoyed if whips drop to 300k and the servers are crowded with n00bs. I can see it now: SOUL WARS EXP REWARDS: 1 point : 300,000 SLAYER EXP 10 Points : 5,000,000 SLAYER EXP. Random Nub 20 minutes into playing the game: OMFG I T3h SLAYER L33T GONNAE GO FIGHT3 T3h DEMONZZ :twss:

Crushing and stabbing weps never used.
The sara sword and the zammy spear are both inferior to the whip because they cannot be wielded with a defender. Or anything else for that matter, you are giving up an entire armour slot just to wield a weapon that is only as powerful as a whip.
-
Crushing and stabbing weps never used.
apparently, they changed it form the transition to rs2 from rsc so that weapons would have speed, in the hope that more people would use the other weapons that were being ignored (everything except baxe and 2h). I never played rsc, I read it in an archive when I asked this question to someone who gave me a link. I don't have the link myself, but im pretty sure it was detailed in a 2004 update. Instead, everyone uses the perfect balance of speed and power, schimmy, and ignores everything else. The schimmy either needs to be nerfed somehow, or the other wepons need to get faster (in the case of weak ones) or stronger(in the case of slow ones) so that they can all generate decent melee exp. Also, the whip is too much of a juggernaut. It needs a decent competitor that can be acessed by an average player.

jagex are communists
they are not commies.....but they are a bunch of bleeding heart, hollywood loving, pot smoking, tree hugging, reward-failure-and-punish-improvment liberals. :twss: [/end rant that mayor Giuliani would be proud of]

Iddison resigns as Jagex CEO, replaced by Mark Gerhard
It is their directors' report and financial statements for the year ended 31 March 2008. Oh sorry, I guess that really doesn't apply to Iddison much then. I guess that means it was probably just a coincidence, as you said it was. I really don't think that Iddison left for any negative reason.

Iddison resigns as Jagex CEO, replaced by Mark Gerhard
I don't think he was pushed out forcibly, I was just specualting that as one of many possabilities based on the fact that their prospectus is out tomorrow(or a quarter report or whatever ren said) I just think, like Constant Tedder, perhaps Iddison had just outlived his purpose in the company. Maybe they decided to take a different direction. Based on the information in the article there is no way to tell, becasue when Constant Tedder left in 2007, the Gower brothers gave simmilar praise, and as far as I know, did not cite any real reason why he left. Or maybe he got a job offer somwhere else, or maybe [insert speculation here]

No-one trying to decipher Chaos Elemental message this time?
Honestly, who cares? When is the last time ANYONE was right about figuring out a spoiler? Can't you just wait for the update?

Iddison resigns as Jagex CEO, replaced by Mark Gerhard
Well, Imre Jele (former Head of RuneScape) already left. The Gower brothers own 52% of Jagex, so they still have a lot of power. I guess that is a bit suspicious. Maybe there is some kind of a shake-up going on in Jagex. Maybe, like Constant Tedder, who got the company going and established, Iddison has has done everything that the Gowers wanted to help them do (expand internationally, more advertising). Maybe he was offered more money somewhere else. Or maybe there may be a negative reason behind his departure. Or maybe im speculating a little too much. Sorry I deleted the parts of my post you quoted, I was intending to fix the spelling but I had to go away from my computer to take care of something so I just deleted the mispelled lines.

Iddison resigns as Jagex CEO, replaced by Mark Gerhard
Maybe he wanted to leave on a high note, Or maybe the Gower brothers werent happy with the numbers. I am not wishing ill on Jagex by saying the latter. But anyway, even though the changes I object to were probably decisions made by the Gower brothers, I just want to say Iddison, goodbye and good riddance. (the CEO has nothing to do with game content, but it is nice to have a scapegoat :twss: )

In before the lock. I hate stupid randoms too, but this belongs in the item loss sticky.
