Once a great game. A story/Rant for veteran players.
I fail to see how the OP is child like at all. The post is very well written, and it is not "unreadable". It would be an excellent idea to read a post before you respond to it.

31st March 2009 - Rants forum returns
The people who are complaining about all of the wildy threads are the same people who usually deny that there is any support for the return of the wilderness. How long untill the rants forum is removed again? I'll guess about 3-6 weeks, max. Anyone else have a guess?

Price manipulation: right or wrong?
If Jagex does not want price manipulation, then they should not have introduced the Grand Exchange.

Once a great game. A story/Rant for veteran players.
So anyone who disagrees with the direction that this game has taken is a child? There are many reasonable arguments against the direction that the game has taken. This is essentially an attempt to use one instance of poor ranting to justify changes that may have been a huge mistake. Do not tell me that before these changes there were not equally childish rants on forums about scamming, luring, or getting PKed and losing everything. You are attempting to misrepresent everyone who was against these and other updates as idiots, and protray your side as a high level group of users who could not possibly be wrong. That is not the case. This is not a matter of adults vs. children. In many of my rants I did not have all of the facts, because I simply did not know them. I was not aware of the credit card fraud, and did not think of the growing number of non-english speaking players who would probably rather see pictures over a language that they did not understand. Jagex is not infallible. There are huge gaps and unexplained situations in the gameplay of runescape that can only be explained as mistakes. There are parts of the game that anyone would obviously see as rushed content or unintended consequences of gamplay updates that Jagex obviously did not think through. I could name dozens of these instances. If Jagex can make mistakes introducing new content, they can make mistakes reforming old content. The industry leading game, and competitor games that are growing at extremely fast rates did not adopt such systems. I believe that Runescape continues IN SPITE of many of these updates, because the old forumla in F2P that draws people to become members is still intact. They explore all the new content, get bored at some point, and then simply drift back between f2p and p2p.

26th March 2009 - Development Diary
I remember DD's. This is not a DD. This is an "updated" version of the DD I guess roflz. I really don't care if they give info on new updates. Most games dont even give any information on updates untill the date of release. I always thought it was odd that they just gave all the information away in advance, and I hope that system never returns. Instead of releasing these things, they should just do no BTS or DD's at all. Releasing these things and calling them "DDs" will only annoy people.

Great Orb Project - Jagex's Biggest Fail
The leeches are a complete pain. I tried GOP a while ago, and never went back to it.

Looking at people buying their XP sorta makes me wanna cry..
Thats your excuse for anything skill related. I think even though you wont get as much if you sell the second Items from a gathering based skill like woodcutting, you still get rewarded with EXP and can use that high level to make more money back. Thats why I've been farming for my Herblore...only problem is I keep forgetting to go and harvest my herbs 80% of the time :wall: PS: on a side note, I thought you were talking about XP Operating System, then I looked at the top f the boards saying rants and had a facepalm moment. #-o That is the reason for everything skill related. The incentive for making food or potions or anything else is no longer to sell it for a profit, but to get a pixel cape. That is extremely bizarre.

Pray-X....GF Prayer Cape
Yeah, Im waiting for the "slay-x" option.

HaHa def noob! raise ur str!
Strength>>> Attack/Defence It has been proven time and time again. If you accidently trained unimportant stats too high and don't want to hear it, stay out of PVP.

Skilcapes were a disaster for gameplay in Runescape.

2d's blog (thank you blk dragons)
That must have been a bit expensive?

The future of Bounty Hunter: more info revealed.
I am very skeptical of this. I do not believe that they are letting on all of the detaills. I STRONGLY doubt that the old wildy with the full drops will be back. Probably should not call it "bounty hunter" "Mithril Dagger P++ if you kill a zerker pure with a fire cape" would be a much more appropriate name.

Once a great game. A story/Rant for veteran players.
Do you play runescape? I'm sick of people claiming that the RWT updates somhow "ended" scamming and "matured the community". There are even worse things now in Merch clans. Instead one lazy, greedy moron getting ripped off becasue he didn't pay attention to the trade screen, or he actually thought he was going to get a "Free whip in that area north of the monestary", EVERYONE has to participate in the scams. Quit taking the changes of out of context. They were implimented to stop credit card fraud, not to save you because you thought you were going to magically get a free whip if you pulled the lever. Skillcapes were a complete disaster. It make no sense that raw fish is more expensive than cooked. The game is warped. And, where I come from, calling half of an arguement "garbage" is not worship. I don't know EatRuneArrow's intent in starting this topic, but the post is not a troll post. That is for the moderators who have undoubtedly looked over this post to determine. It is very nice that there is at least ONE other person on this site who agrees with me though. Any negative intent is likley intent that you created in your head which motivated this pathetically mendacious response to his post.

I'm getting tired of all this garbage about the decline of "maturity". There was never a period of perfect intellectual greatness in this game (thank god). I don't even understand how a community like that would be remotely interesting to be part of. My main complaints are skillcapes and the RWT updates. I agree with you there. Many other games handled this situation better. They ended the major risk of PKing and that neat element of risk the wildy once had (can't wait for the people who dont know what d hide is or how to turn on run energy to try to claim that revs are any replacement for them.) Skillcapes were perhaps an even bigger mistake, they completely twisted and warped this game.

Holiday Musings and a permanent solution to rares
Rares are not a problem, and they don't need a solution. Rares are units that people buy because they choose to. Some people think that this is a major problem. Those people are wrong. One major arguement against them is that they take a lot of time to get, and are very expensive. 99 Slayer takes a long time to get. It sould not be removed form the game. 99 pray takes a long time to get. It should not be removed from the game. Some people say that it contributes to the whole merching culture. The problem with that is that merchers choose to merch, and they pay to play the game. And they enjoy it. So it isn't a problem unless you make it one. I never buy rares. I would rather see a cash pile than a rare, because rares are worthless. But they are also an item with a price, and as long as that is the case, someone will want it.

A Roll-Back.
Roll-back was ruled out by jagex before you posted this topic.

Why can't F2P have...?
There are at least 3 stickies around tip it about this, and probably 10 topics relating to F2p and what they deserve.
-
Crushing and stabbing weps never used.
They should either use the Crush/slash/stab system for something, or remove it from the game. There is not a simmilar situation for mage or range.

27th February - Temporary Closure of Bounty Hunter Craters
That will ruin Pking for P2P. I know in F2P chances of getting someone killed is 1 in 20. But in P2P it's normal and with ags , claw etc...u can kill someone very fast. So from where i stand P2P should stay, and F2P should go. But then again that would not be fair for F2Ps who love BH. Origionally, there was PKing anywhere.( not just on pointless worlds that very few people go to) Then it was in the wilderness only. Then It was BH only. And now, as of this moment, you can't PK in runescape anywhere. Every update is bad for PKers, and I have always figured that it was only a matter of time before Bounty Hunter was removed.

Another Anti-Gameplay Update from Jagex
I can already see the people who were bad at PKing complaining in this topic lol. And I think it is pathetic when people say that the GE and the Trade Restrictions "Made people better". Rofl. They didn't make people better. There are still schemes, there are still merchanting clans, there are still all of the things there were before, except now everyone must participate in them, unlike before, when only careless people who didn't pay attention to trades got the stick. You can't change human nature. Hobogoblin pie made a perfect point of something though. It wouldn't matter if every single player in the entire game quit right now. They would eventually all be replaced with new players, who never played before the update that casued everyone to quit. I will be reading this topic, i'll look at all of the posts of all the people who were carless and got scammed, I will look at all the posts of all the people who were pathetic PKers, I will look that garbage and read their attempt to push THEIR OWN "narrow minded" view of the situation. If you need a trade limit to protect you becasue you can't pay attention to trades, maybe you should PAY ATTENTION TO TRADES, instead of pushing a trade limit on EVERYONE. Anyway, all of the "art-holier-than-thou" people are wrong anyway, becasue jagex is doing this to get rid of RWT. Not to enforce bizarre moral codes. They did it becasue of the credit card issue, and not for any other reason. In that sense, the OP is incorrect. I WILL say that other games in the industry have handled this better, and are able to maintain PKing.

"Eww, you play RuneScape?"
I avoid talking about RS IRL, it's something I did as a teen that I never got out of the habit of doing. Or at least, that is the way I look at it. I really don't know what I would say about it. It would be very akward. It does get addictive at times, but it has never lead to any problems, or interfered with anything and I want it to stay that way. The people closest to me know that I play it, but they don't ask many questions, or talk about it, probably becasue they see it as just some game.

The crash code - µ
Nice, subtle way to brag about your high rank. Maybe you just passed someone in xp.

why are people too stupid to hop when dungeon is full?
People have a right to compete for in-game resources. They aren't hopping because they are trying to force you out, they want to make you hop, and go through the trouble of hopping. That was the sarcastic point I was trying to make in my first post in this topic.

Soul Wars Grarg!!!!
You can get a reasonable amount of hits in without high attack, beacuse everyone has low defense. The main thing is to hit very hard with a few good specs and get a few good hits in. And on the occasion that someone has high def, they will be out of your combat range, or they will have pathetic strength and high attack too (which isn't useful in a game with so many low def players) because they trained with an abyssal whip. I have never encountered some who ignores Attack and only trains Defense and Strength, but that is the only scenario where a pure would be in trouble. That is the only way the combat level would be low enough. That would be very bizarre though, I have never seen an account like that in my life.

How I lost my items - by scamming, dying and others
looks like no one uses this sticky, instead they just post and wait for the topic to be locked.
