Soul Wars Grarg!!!!
No its more like Strength> Attack/Defense. Those two stats have very little use after level 70. You clearly have no understanding of purity. I think attack might as well be re-named "Abyssal Whip Requirement" and defense might as well be re-named "Barrows Requirement". There is absolutely no reason to train those skills after level 70, unless you get 99 strength first. Strength is the all important stat as far as PVP is concerned.

mining, don't do it- waste of time
Green Dragon Slaying actually beats most skills in terms of making money. I think it beats just about everything except double nat RC at 91. You can thank skillcapes for that :twss:

Quest 150
Been no "filler" quests for 2 months. I assmued that was becasue of the new "mechscape" game that jagex is planning to release. This isn't an attack at Jagex or anything, it just seemed like common sense that they would divert resources temporarly to oversee the release of the new game, and make sure it went smoothly.

10-Feb-2009 Soul Wars Minigame
Don't take my line. Summoning is an extremely boring money sink, a very bad, boring skill. I wouldn't train it if I were paid to. Based common sense, the rewards look low. If you could only collect charms that fast, no one would be at Kalphites whining at me for cannoning. It's always great to get their reaction when I tell them I am leaving every charm on the ground. :twss:

ok wtf.
Yep. You missed the boat. Trading, Merching, Staking, and Pking were all removed about a year and a half ago. You think your brother can just "give" even though he earned it and it is his choice what he wants to do with it? How completely obnoxious of him. Good thing Jagex stepped in and got this situation under control. Anyway, the autoers were selling in-game items to people, and some of the farmers were using stolen credit cards to buy membership credits. So they "had no choice" but to remove unbalanced trading. The wildy, and the old system are gone for good, no point in complaining to anyone. I could go into a rant about how other games have handled this better, but i'll just leave it there.

Quest 150
Is there any real evidence that quest 150 is going to be special, beyond the fact that it is quest #150?

what do u rekon is teh most useless skill out there?
Spottier Capes for speed, Chin's for Range, Butterflies for Multi-Combat zones, Salamanders (to catch) for summoning and also because there all 3 Combat types in one. Hunter has maybe five items that are useful, and does not seem to connect at all with any other skill. It is also very unpopular, almost as ignored as farming. Firemaking, on the other hand can be used for cooking at a convienient location.

I love rasing cats because it keeps track of time online
I've never bothered with cats or summoning. Im just not willing to give up those 4 inventory spaces for charms(better used for Runes, high end drops/herbs), or deal with giving a cat milk, or whatever it is that you have to do. People scream at me when I tell them that I have gained about 2 million slayer exp since Summoning came out, and ive never once picked up a charm. :twss: .

people who are always just rating their own stats
Bragging about stats in an online game? That is absolutley pathetic, and you should tell them so.

RUNE DEFENDER
If you don't wan't the best defense slot item in the game just because it takes maybe an hour to get, then you can buy a DFS. They cost 14m, nothing. I can make that much money in 15 minutes! I'd say it takes about as many kills to get a defender as it takes to get a pair D boots, or a Granite Maul.

10-Feb-2009 Soul Wars Minigame
More npc's would be nice too. The chaos tunnels certainly helped for some assignments. (Hellhounds perm-blocked for me for just that reason) Err, kinda veered off topic sorry. PVP worlds FTW. (I can't believe I said that)

Hunter. Chinchompas and Spottier capes could be obtianed in another way. Other than that there is no use for this skill.

Soul Wars XP... will get abused.
Any skill is easy at low levels, except perhaps Runecrafting or Farming. But you don't have to worry about Slayer being devalued by a minigame, like so many other skills. The rewards at soul wars allow experience that is below average at best.

10-Feb-2009 Soul Wars Minigame
Lawl. This minigame does not have a great life expectancy. I don't care, really, I am just glad they didn't devalue Slayer with heavy handed rewards. At least it will get the crowds off for a while, maybe.

10-Feb-2009 Soul Wars Minigame
I like the way you think :twss: As long as it does not increase the speed of training slayer, I think this minigame is just fine. Does any one know about any practical uses for these pets? I have an abyssal head, and low construction, with no intention of raising it. What exactly does the abyssal pet do?

Slayer Sucks
It is very intresting that apperently this "zarfot" fellow is following this topic, or anyone, as some kind of epic debate. This topic is a complete joke of a debate. Most of Deviled Eggs points were disproven between pages 14 and 20. Since then he simply ignored any new arguments introduced and altered his figures when convienient. He has repeatedly changed the figures for exp no less than 3 times. Deviled Egg's Figures for Slayer: 65K or 50k or 45k xp an hour. (50k was supposedly Zarfot's number. 45k and 65K were Random guesses made by Deviled Egg) Zombies: 103k or 102k xp or 100k xp or 95k-100k exp per hour. (95-100k untill YDrasil made his point about summoning. Slowly walked it up to 103k with no explanations afterword. None of these numbers have been confirmed by a third party. The Runescape Wikia lists them as 80k-90k xp per hour.) Let's ignore the fact that in his first post, Deviled Egg stated that Slayer was INDISPUTABLY 50K xp- SET IN STONE, NO DEBATE. Let's also ignore that most of Zarfot's work was done BEFORE the change of Slayer points, which means his data may not properly take those into account (full disclosure- I don't use slayer points) This so-called "epic" debate doesn't even take major factors into account, like the use of a Low Hp D set, a relatively common strategy, that I and many others employ. Qeltar's database proves that this can signifacantly speed up kills in a number of situations. Let's ignore the fact that the RSOF which we all love to hate so much list Slayer and Summoning as COMBAT skills. When those factors are taken into account slayer is the superior choice. It is a wider skill. From The OP: In short, saying 'slayer is the best way to train combat' is a horribly wrong statement. A correct version would be 'slayer is a slow and unprofitable way to train combat, but if you enjoy the skill it is worth training. Just know that you will be losing out on a large amount of XP and GP.' I have nothing against slayer, but I get tired of people saying that it is the best way to train combat... But suddenly, when Ydrasil made the summoning point, it was just "Melee only". Even more laughable is the fact that the only slayer could compete is if the 65k per hour that DEVILEDEGG HIMSELF made up is used and not the other figure of 50k.

then its obvious that he started working in the technology sector at age 7 On the RSOF, no one reads much of anything.

Feb 9 2009: The Future of Runescape
Those people in RSOF are wasting their time. I would like to see pking back, but even I know that that was definately a permanent decision on the part of jagex, even though im still going to complain about it. Other than that, looks good. It May be nothing but talk, though. I would like to see some of these changes before I make any judgements. WE PAY TO PK!!!!! BRING BACK THE WILDY IN 09!!!!!!

Spirit of Christmas is gone :-(
I can't believe I missed this topic. Now, how am I going to approch this....... Yes, the spirit of christmas is gone, the spirit of open markets is gone, the spirit of merching is gone, and the spirit of giving is gone. You can thank the FAILED December 10th 2007 updates that FAILED to stop RWTing, FAILED to stop illegal money transfers, and FAILED to accomplish anything, other than protect uninformed players, and bolster FAILED melodramitic nerds who equate winning virtual, fictional gold in a fight to real life murder. The spirit of PKing is gone, the spirit of risk is gone, the spirit of a mulitplayer game is gone. Lots of things are gone.

Crushing and stabbing weps never used.
Crush weapons should be overwhelmingly better on plates than stab/slash weapons. Not have a extremely small advantage that is offset completely by the fact that almost all crush weapons are slow and weak.

Dragon: Whats next?
not again :|    DRAGON DRAGON lolz Verac's Dragon! Igonres Prayer and hits through defense! Drops the amazing Dragon Pick, which will be no better than the Rune Pick at first, and usable at level 41. However, a few months later Jagex will raise the requirement to lvl 61 and make it better than the Rune pick. (Note to 9-year-olds with no sense of humor: This is a joke) Seriously, Im tired of dragon items. Other than the Boots and Claws, no Dragon item is taken seriously in PVP or PKing. I hope they just push out all the remaining Dragon items at once and get it over with. It is almost as if they knew that the dragon plate would be usless but made it available anyway. If they decide to make a useful dragon item, I hope it is dropped by a Slayer monster that is very hard to reach, and very hard to kill.
-
Killing one more.
Yes. I started following this tradition after I got a pair of Rune boots from it on a nech task. It hasn't got me anything a thing since then :twss:

Quest 150
I assume you are putting Dharok's axe under "PVP" weapons. I agree, we could use a good PVM weapon with decent speed and a nice crush bonus. One-handed weapons. Oh sorry, didn't read your post carefully enough. As a one handed weapon, you would be able combine it with a defender and make it even better. It could be sort of a crush-based competitor with the Abyssal Whip. But after the dissapointment of the D plate, Im really tired of Dragon items right now. It is very annoying to have every quest centered around another dragon item.

Gravestones: Death not so Serious?
Wow, people like you make Runescape a bad place... You would let someones grave dissappear when it would cost you about 2k to drink a prayer pot dose and bless it? Hopefully I will be the one to find your grave at some point in the near future... No, people like YOU make it a bad place. Putting virtual gold at such a serious level. Its not my responsibility to bless a stranger's grave. Also, the way I amuse myself is my own business. I thought the point of a game is to have fun, not to ensure that everybody in the game lives happily ever after. Theres no reason to ever die in this game, and if you do its your own fault. The only cases in which it isnt your own fault is from a disconnect, which would make your gravestone disappear anyway. And unless they ever actually lose their items from their death theyre never going to learn not to be an idiot if they want to keep their stuff. =D> I have been trying to think of a good way to say as much.
