  1. because if jagex change it now, roughly 50k people would hold a riot, and then rage quit.
  2. Perhaps read your correction. You said "skilled" instead of "skipped"

besides, the average IQ of the people doing this is roughly half the IQ of the rocks they are mining. (and yes I am aware that these "rocks" are pixels)
  6. From what i have heard, and personaly experience, it takes 10 rounds (1 round = waves 1-10) to fill the horn. On a pro team, this will take about 7 and a half hours. Using the horn at gnome agility will net you approximately 1.2m xp. This is about 600k bonus xp. To get thix xp normally, it would take approximately 11 hours. So the horn ends up saving you 3 and a half hours. And it is much more fun to fill horn then it is to get 600k agility xp. Collector is the fastest role to get to level 5, but once you are getting xp, it does not matter what role you are. I would advise spending slightly longer and getting at least your favorite role to lvl 5 because this will allow you to be accepted into better teams and you will be doing something you enjoy, not something you dislike.
  7. the temp files and cookies on your computer are downloaded from internet sites. Usually they allow the sites to run faster because alot of the stuff that you do on those sites is saved on your computer. Things like passwords, usernames, and stuff like that. Alot of cookies that advertising sites use track your internet usage, so they can determine what they should try to sell you. It is these kind of files and whatnot that really bog down computers. So yeah, it is a good idea to delete them once a week. Glad to hear you got it running well again :D On a side note, Runescape has been having some server issues. The servers themselves are lagging, or so it seems. So rs constanly dc'ing my not have been entirely on your end.
  8. If you are running iTunes at the same time as a web browser, its gonna slow you down some. Just close iTunes it when you finish syncing. EDIT: Just remembered, but if you have your iPod set up to autosync to iTunes, then while your iPod is plugged into your computer, your computer will monitor it and constantly check to make sure your iPod is all synced up. This absolutely murders computing power. Disconnect your iPod from your computer if you are not syncing it.
  9. It sounds more like you have something sucking memory. Spyware maybe, or something of that sort. When you turn on the computer, open the task manager and go to processes. Watch the computer usage column to see what is hogging all of your processing power. Chances are something will be taking 85-95% of the computer. This program is what is slowing down your computer. Don't end it! Research it online, see if you can find anything about it. Basically just google the process. It will have some name that ends it "[Caution: Executable File]" most likely. You might be able to find out what it does, and how to turn it off. You could also try defragmenting it, which basically orders everything on the hardrive (read: slowest part of a computer) so that it doesn't have to spin as far. Defragmenting does not erase any data but it will probably take about 5 hours. So just leave it run all night. Some other things to check first are how much space you have on your hardrive. Anything beyond about 80% full will start to slow it down noticeably. If you have a laptop, check overheating. Your vents may be clogged with dust and lint, and this can limit airflow that will cool the computer off. Try proping it up in the back by letting the back edge rest on a book. I use the encyclopedia Q-R personally, but anything about an inch high will work. Desktop computers can overheat also, to help with that, take the cover off one of the sides, and use an air blower or something to blow all the dust off. Vacuums do not work as well, so I would advise doing this outside, unless you don't mind a huge dustcloud in your living space. I'm not sure what your computer habits are, but I can tell you that listening to itunes while playing rs and browsing the web is going to slow down all but the best of the computers. Only do one of these at a time. iTunes is also a memory hog, so running it with a web browser (another memory hog) is a recipie for diaster (well this is an rs related forum after all).
  10. And i have several friends who bought the profound set the day they updated cw. 2 of them are above rank 150................

so how does the kyatt thing work, do you just spam click the special?
  13. Its also probably a good idea to save up tokens for battle robe pieces (specifically the robe-bottom, which costs 1000 tokens), the price has gone up 666% in half a year. Thats because the street price is like 15mil due to the sheer money-saving power of a full-set combined with a staff of light (plus with the update to recharge costs, real easy to fix up when they degrade). Actually, the most token efficient item to buy is adamant berserker shields, but no one buys them so rune gaunts are next best and F2Pers buy them all the time. Battle robes are actually not very token efficient. (token efficient = high gp gained per token) Yes, I'm saying that it could possibly be a worthy investment for some time in the future, I wasn't telling anyone to sell them now, that would be stupid. There is an increased demand for battle robes nowdays. I'm fairly confident they will yield higher token efficiency than the lesser items eventually. Somewhere upwards of 5mil for a battle robe bottom seems pretty good to me. Thats like 5k gp per token. Way better then the 775gp per token that rune or dragon gaunts will get you.
  14. Neither does mage protect. Mage protect/deflect only works on LEATHER dragons (not counting KBD). Metal dragons always were and always will be unaffected by mage protect/deflect. Mage protect works on the close up version of dragonbreath. The ranged version of metal dragon breath is unaffected by mage protect and deflect.
  15. The boys who follow girls around pestering them to be their gf are just trying to be annoying. The girls who do the same thing are these same boys with a female account, they just want free stuff. If you meet some girl on rs, who you become friends with, then if you both want to perhaps to get to know eachother better, then set up a meeting in real life or call eachother. People who find random people and just ask "Will you be my GF/BF?" (after all the corrections in grammar and spelling) are creepy, stupid, desperate, and annoying. When people bother me like this, I tend to do my best to get them killed.* This is probably mean, but geez, leave me alone. *Steel drags with no shield, waterbirth, barrows, or generally anywhere they wont make it back within 3 minutes.
  16. There is also no point in keeping the torags helm, full slayer helm is good for every slayer task you do.
  17. the sad thing is i have 5 or 6 friends who bought the full set of profound the day it came out. They had the tickets already sitting in their bank. They have over 5k games played....... Edit: And a faster way to get tickets is to duo on empty worlds late at night. People just reach the score limit and collect tickets, alternating wins with a friend.
  18. wow, really? thats ridiculous.
  19. Really? I would have to guess that you are winning............

says the guy with ~22k posts. How many people can top that? On topic, post count doesnt matter much to me. I have a pretty low one, but then again, I dont really worry about getting it up, more worried about whether I am helpful or just annoying.
  21. It's true. One of the more popular pkers (sparc mac) has been DDoS'd a few times. Most recently he lost about 200m (bandos, ags, ahrims, runes, but he kept divine and thats what counts) It is Direct Denial of Service when you get attacked individually, usually by the person finding your ip address. It is also a felony to do this, so I have no idea why people think a video game is that important......
  22. what do you do with things that do not fit into your bank?
  23. every time i log into classic, i get tons of pms from all my friends going "what?? classic?? why!?!?!?" My response: "Cause it's Awesome....." I remember my first year or so playing runescape, before rs2 came out. I felt sooo accomplished when i got my addy 2h and full mith :)
