  1. You hate the game, yet you go for the rankings. How is it an achievement to do something you think is crap? !!! We do that all the time on rs becasue we are going for the REWARD. Are u really that dense. The smart people on rs always play the most efficiently. It's much more fun. You just contradicted your whole argument. I don't think I need to explain - wait, I forgot who I was talking to. The "most efficient" way to play the game is also the "most fun"? Aside from that being a huge logical and factual fallacy, it just contradicts your first point and your defending of stonewall337. Stonewall337 admits he was going for the reward only, and he clearly stated that he hated the game. Wow - efficiency = fun. RIGHT... "If you are the hunted, your task is to evade your opponent and gather as many charges from the Fist of Guthix as possible. " - Extract from the Manual regarding FoG from the RS page. Unless your logic fails so badly (wait, it does) that you think tanking is considered evasion of an opponent, I don't see how Jagex suggests that you tank in the center instead of running.
  2. So you're basically saying that it's wrong to not do something simply because it inconveniences your mood? So why don't you go and give very small change to every beggar you pass on the street? The money doesn't really matter (assuming you work and earn sufficient money), and it only "inconveniences your mood". Wait - I don't see that happening. The pencil analogy - I'm quite sure very few people where I live would help a random stranger if he asked. They would only help if he's a friend or something. But perhaps American culture or whatever is different. The lost person analogy - Ok, why don't you make a pledge to help any lost person you meet no matter how angry, how tired or how pressed for time you are? And why can't someone be playing FoG to relieve stress, to relax, to vent frustration, or is just some no-lifer rushing to get tokens to buy something? I'm not saying it's morally correct to not help when you have time, you're rich, you're in quite a good mood, etc. I'm just saying it isn't morally wrong if for some reason you don't feel like helping. I see you're still being a pathetic bastard trying to boost your ego and make yourself seem like some self-righteous saint or something. Why don't you do yourself a favor and actually make some proper contributions to the topic? You hate the game, yet you go for the rankings. How is it an achievement to do something you think is crap? It's like you joining some [developmentally delayed]ed competition about who can eat the most (random disgusting thing). It's obviously [developmentally delayed]ed, but I'm going for the "ranks"!! And I'm going to hate you if you stop me from doing it/advise me against it!!!
  3. No. How is it fair that a level 138 can get 500M+ to a typical level 40? I'm just saying that one should be able to link accounts from the same IP addresses of creation or be able to prove that both accounts are owned by the same person. And transferring 500M+ is risky enough using the drop method anyways before limits were introduced, god forbid you lost connectivity to the servers. It's just too easy to abuse.
  4. Why should you oblige some low level player if you don't feel like it? It's not a law nor is it morally wrong to not do so. Does it really matter that much about the run energy? You can simply chase with just a rune scimitar/whatever when you need melee, and range/mage sets if you need ranged/magic. Melee armor doesn't really give significant attack bonuses, and range/mage armors are quite light anyway. How the hell is the hunted supposed to beat the hunter if he's running out of energy faster than the hunter? And he can't retaliate or anything.
  5. It's technically impossible to design a foolproof bug detecting system. Heck, it's already almost impossible for Jagex's small team of developers to continuously keep up to date with EVERY SINGLE bot program. So why waste time and money trying to fix the bot detection system? They'll just wait till the community is very angry about the situation to make some fixes, just to avoid losing customers.
  6. Oh, so we suddenly have a moral obligation to fulfill their purpose for playing FoG? Sorry if I misunderstood you. Try to make clear your stand instead of simply stating the obvious.
  7. Seriously, does it matter what the other players are at FoG for, what they think of you, how much chance there is of you winning, etc? You're playing the game for your own enjoyment, not to allow other players to get tokens/magic exp/what have you, not to get e-respect from a bunch of idiots probably somewhere halfway across the world, or to lose simply because it is virtually impossible for a level 40 to beat a level 125. Simply put - play the game as you like. Go irritate people if you feel like it, don't care about whether they "respect" you or not, don't care whether you're wasting their time by not allowing them to gain magic exp/tokens/whatever.
  8. I don't see a first-come-first-serve basis sign anywhere in any place with monsters. Don't get me wrong, I do agree that they're idiots for trying to crash you, lowering everyone's exp rates, but they have a right to do it if they want to - you're not paying Jagex any more money for special privileges or anything. If they're really annoying you, then why don't you just switch worlds? As you said, how hard can it be?
  9. I would like to direct you to the part of the WoW website that states the membership requirements and costs.
  10. Your point being? So what if he has a mindset to have to "grind" everything? Can't it be changed? It's merely an absurd excuse. It would be more valid if it came from a computer game addict, but since he's saying the skill (and the game) sucks, so why the hell wouldn't he just ignore the skill? Or if he's so busy with real life as he says, then just quit the game, but there's no need to blame the skill for it. I have no interest in considering that a negative statement. It is merely a belief of mine. And I agree with pretty much everything else you said. Ok, I seriously don't understand your logic or your way of thinking, but, heck, we'll just leave it at that.
  12. You're quitting because you don't feel like getting a skill to above 75? Seriously. What IN THE WORLD is making you have some sort of moral obligation to have to train every skill to above 75? Sense of accomplishment? If you hate a skill just don't train it - I don't see how that lessens your "sense of accomplishment". Respect? PLEASE - this is just an online game - does it matter whether some people e-respect you or not?
  13. Maybe I am asking a lot. But it hardly compensates for the vast majority of players who ask for nothing. Jagex are the ones who presented this as a "thank you" to customers. They have since done *nothing* consistent with that. They are charging a fortune for the event, which benefits them, not customers. They are excluding most people and not doing anything to include players who can't come. Certainly not a way to thank customers. The "secret venue" bullsquat only three months before the event is not only not a kind gesture to customers, it's flat out obnoxious. The flagstaff is even worse -- it's an overt slap in the face to everyone who can't go. Everything about this event says "Jagex is throwing Jagex a big party, and if you want to pay a small fortune they'll let you watch". If that's not the message the company wanted to send, then they should have taken an approach that actually puts customers first, not their own desires and interests. Furthermore.......they are actually giving everybody a slap in the face, because ..... 1. in a way they are introducing REAL life trade....pay 75 pounds and you get a flagstaf 2. They are breaking their own rules by having people meet up. We all know people who got muted for asking real life questions. I won't comment on the price since personally I'd definitely not pay that much for some event either. Does a flagstaff really matter that much? IMHO, it is NOT real-world trading - it offers no in-game advantages. Oops, I forgot, some of you suffer from such low self-esteem that you require some pixels to boost your ego. It's like that thumbdrive or some key-like device they released recently. Go scream that it's RWT - it offers an advantage to you in that your account is more secure. Seriously, does it matter that a purely cosmetic item, in-game or not, is being "sold" for real-life money? Having people meet up? That's just plain absurd. How does that relate to asking real-life questions? Oh, you meet people in real-life! Does that mean you immediately have to reveal or ask for someone's address, phone number, age, and other personal details?
  14. Y'all can go ahead and return to the RSOF now. No patience for little ten year old trolls. I was'nt trolling, your replies just flame my opinions on the game and the purpose of this part of the forum is to rant away at the things people hate about the game, for me its these failed updates. Now if your about to say "why do you still play Rs?" Answer: It's because it passes time and everything else about the game is good fun. Edit: Now looking back this topic is pointless as this part of the forum acheives no purpose but to rant and see people posting against your opinions. It can achieve things - if you know how to properly phrase your posts, present your thinking in a clear and logical manner and not make a whole post full of exaggerations, falsifications, and opinionated crap. It's ok to have opinion (after all, this is the rants forum), but when you try to pass off your opinion as superior or try to make it sound like everyone shares that opinion, along with a heck lot of other "sins" people like Omali, etc can't stand, then you can dream of "acheiveing a purpose".
  15. I don't get it - you're saying the rewards suck, then you say they're AWEful? ----- Seriously speaking, just go and post it on the tip.it patch notes thing in the Suggestions forum if you want a higher chance of Jagex paying attention. Making a rant here has little chance of Jagex paying attention to it.
  16. I never said you were personally attacking them. I just said you were insulting them for overestimating and underestimating how hard it is to do things in RuneScape. You realise you're just insulting your own intelligence by dropping ridiculously obvious hints? Wait - your sarcasm failed so badly I didn't realise it was sarcasm until now. I read the thread on the 40 second delay, and if I'm not wrong almost no one confidently said it was because of transferring. Those who said "I think" and such don't count - they felt doubt in Jagex's claims. Those who actually confidently said so were plain ignoramuses, BUT compared to the overwhelming majority who occupy a grey area in between, they are few. I hardly see how they constitute a substantial group, which I think you're referring to when you say "people". Granted, Jagex does make ridiculous mistakes once in a while. I think we sometimes focus too much on them, and not on the positive side of things. You talk about Batch 2 of Dungeoneering, and that it should be implemented from the start. Look - 400 developers. They can be skilled, but how are they supposed to spot every single mistake in the update? It's impossible. It's much easier for the thousands of players to spot mistakes, and for Jagex to consolidate all the fixes for the minor updates and release them in one go. Also, there might be content they're unsure about. Keeping them back and observing the player's response, e.g. if they ask for that exact piece of content, then they'll release it. Of course, there will also be many other new pieces of content that they haven't thought about. As i said, it's impossible for a group of 400 developers, skilled or not to have the best ideas/solutions for every single thing. The hundreds of thousands of players will surely think of some amazing ideas that slipped the developers' minds. Around 100 are developers which work on fun orb, stellar dawn, runescape, and other games. The rest handle customer relations. I don't really know how reliable those figures are, but assuming they're correct, that just further adds on to my point.
  17. The point about just playing a game still stands. Undoubtedly, he is behaving idiotically for thinking he'd be more efficiently doing things, but honestly - why are we even playing the game in the first place? For all you know, the mentioned person could be quite intelligent, but just wiped out after a hard day at school/work/whatever or he just feels like randomly playing the game/just playing the game for fun, not to attain a high level of efficiency. He might understand the principle of "opportunity cost" as you put it, but just feels too tired to think about such things.
  18. Go ahead and "petition" against me. I've full rights to remain on this thread if I wish. See if I care about your attacks. 19. Fletching doesn't get much respect because there is an easy way to get it, doesn't matter if you did it the hard way. Just play the freaking game for your own enjoyment, not for "respect" from some idiots halfway across the continent or even world. If you feel a sense of accomplishment from getting 99 Fletching, so be it. If you feel it's too "easy", then go try and get another more "challenging" cape then, but don't attack others for their personal opinions.
  20. It's a game, not a job where you're pressured to maintain as high a level of productivity as possible.

    RIP OLD SCHOOL

    Uh...I guess you're an exception.
  22. Someone who had a computer engineering degree and a decade's worth of programming experience before most of you were born. Thanks very much for the childish personal attacks -- while simultaneously lecturing me about "respect", neat trick there -- but my point remains: there are people who both overestimate *and* underestimate the difficulty of updates. Wow - so convincing. I'm supposed to believe that, especially on the internet? Interesting how you can argue about respect when you first started attacking people? I don't see why you highlighted the "and". I never disputed that point. I was just pointing out that you acting superior and sneering at people on the fence while not backing your point up at all isn't going to get your opinion respected. Your point might remain, but it isn't substantiated.
  23. SOME PEOPLE have things to do other than play the computer all the time. Though you're clearly not in that category. Just because you like something doesn't mean you can and will do it all the time. Who doesn't like a vacation? But who has the money to go on a vacation every month? I didn't mean it that way, was just puzzled, and meant him no insult, so you can stop treating me like [cabbage] now. Thanks. Well, it sounded like that way.
