Fully agreed. I don't see why Jagex didn't put price manipulation on the list of offences in RuneScape. Sure, even if they termed it as "investment", the techniques these clans use shouldn't be allowed. Spamming and scamming. Both are offences. And it isn't "investment". It's scamming people to raise prices so much for THEIR own benefit.
  2. How so? Don't tell me you lack the mental capacity to simply remove the last digit from the damage splats?
  3. Jagex isn't dumb enough to make every skill so easy to train that you take a year to finish the game. Obviously they want you to subscribe to membership for as long as possible.
  4. The problem with that is: 1. It doesn't speed up training, other than the earliest levels. In fact, the day of the update many top players were getting LESS hourly exp. A friend who routinely sets exp records was averaging 8~10k less exp an hour, whereas I was only doing 5k less. After they patched it the next day, we both noticed our exp rates return to normal. 2. There's no way to tell whether or not it actually makes play more exciting for new players, as the rate at which you kill monsters really isn't drastically improved since their health increased and they heal "faster." 3. In the current system LP doesn't show max. They'd need another patch. Plus if they're going to tweak HP, why didn't they do everything else at the same time? Prayer, summoning, energy? HURTS the game as a whole? Can you please use some logic? 1. That was just a bug. It was fixed. End of story. I already mathematically proved it to speed up training. Rather insignificantly, but still, small things add up and become big things. 2. Monsters heal faster? Really? Jagex has many experienced employees. Don't you think they are in a better position to judge whether an update is going to make the game more exciting than you? No offense, but what experience do you have in the MMORPG business? Unless you tell me you're some employee of WoW or something like that you don't know a thing compared to Jagex, as far as whether an update will make RS more exciting is concerned. Young people like to see hits of more than 0. People find it boring when you hit 0 because you accomplish nothing. Hitting a 1 now, although a much poorer hit than the 1 in those days, would still be better than hitting a 0. As in if you hit ten 1s(or any other combination adding up to 10) now compared to hitting nine 0s and a 1 last time, isn't that more interesting than previously? 3. How insignificant will such a patch be? A few lines of code at most? Ok, I won't say this update was one of the most beneficial updates to the game, but in no way did it hurt the game. Aesthetics are subjective. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". What you think is ugly might be pure beauty incarnate for some people. This update WASN'T in any way made to solve the issue of damage determination. I agree wholeheartedly that there is a problem with the damage-determination aspect of RuneScape, but don't randomly associate any HP update with it for the sake of trying to attack the update. It takes more than 2 hours of playing time for a new player to train combat sufficiently such that he/she doesn't hit 0s more often than 1. Don't just pull out numbers out of nowhere and try to pass them off as evidence. It makes it look like you don't have a proper argument and so you decided to concoct some random crap to support your theory.
  5. I disagree with you i like the idea of ash armor and weapons but you could make like a side quest where if you help the king you could slay the chief for members but it's like the way to get wine of zamorok you have to kill everybody in the room first and it gives you like 1000 slayer exp and the chief gaurds drop a paste posin and you could make a paste potion to get rid of the paste posin . the potion is made out of ash , and you could have a choice to slay the chief or spare him.he could like make you a deal and have him say like "please you have shown your worth please spare me if you do there will be something in it for you" then there will be a choice menu saying spare the chief of slay him. if you choice to spare him he will teach you how to make the paste potion for the posin and will give you a slayer exp lamp that he says"one of my guards found that on a adventurer you may also have it" but if you slay him you are crowned chief(has no benfit )but every body in the town will attack you every time you go there Good iconcept, but you need to think it through more. Maybe you should rewrite it properly and think it through once again. For example, sparing the chief seems much better than slaying him. Think up some benefits for being crowned the chief other than increasing your ego...

Which section of the OP's post lacks logic? The sentence you used might as well be used against you. Seeing as you are basing your statements on..... what exactly? Oh right, your personal opinion. Just like the OP did. 1. Skim through the last 48 pages of archived Jagex news, and you can see for yourself that there have been dramatic changes, furthermore helping build the OP's case. 2. "The game has been abused over the years". There is walking talking (not so much talking) evidence in the game in the form of bots and scammers, abusing the game. People abusing the chat system. People abusing bugs. People abusing eachother in any way they can think of, be it closing a door continuously to hinder someones progression, or just spamming a chat to prevent any useful information to be relayed. The last part of his post is entirely his own opinion which, when i last checked tip.it's policy he is entitled to have. So please point out the "severe" lack of logic and evidence. Or don't reply and find another post - where you might have a real chance of making yourself look good. "Honestly, this was terrible". - This refers to the hitpoints update. Firstly, I don't see HOW IN THE WORLD this would result in RuneScape's "death". Of course, the OP is entitled to his own opinion, but an opinion has to have a certain standard of logic and reason if it is to be accepted. Secondly, how the hell IS the update terrible? At least other rants proclaiming RuneScape's death have some semblance of an explanation. No doubt there WERE dramatic changes, but that's just some background information. There's no point in arguing with that. The issue we're attacking here is the OP making an superfluously huge fuss over a minor update to a skill. Have any of our posts questioned the fact that there have been dramatic changes in RuneScape throughout the years? No. The statement "the game has been abused over the years" refers to Jagex doing so in our opinion, not the players. It's open to interpretation - if you can't come up with conclusive evidence backing up the fact that the OP is referring to players abusing the game, then your whole argument falls too.
  7. AirWales: Your denial to debate after I rewrote my post just shows you don't have any proper arguments against it, and you're just employing tactics to sidetrack from the issue so you won't need to embarrass yourself by replying in a stupid manner to the argument I've made. It doesn't take a psychologist to see through your scheme. You can continue to refuse to debate, but it will just look bad on you for not replying to a perfectly sound argument.
  8. quelmotz replied to NotoriousPSC's topic in Rants
Exactly, this is why this rant is so beautiful. The OP gives no reason why he thinks RS is dead. So you can't not tell him he is wrong due to the lack of a point to argue. You don't need a point to argue on. The argument against the rant is built on the fact that the rant severely lacks logic and evidence.
  9. i agree, the solution to fixing usless skills is not to replace them with equally useless skills. Care to explain how it's useless? --------------- On topic: I think this is a decent idea, but I don't think it can stand alone as a skill. It'll do better as a simple add-on to the game IMHO.
  10. What [cabbage]. Totally unnecessary? Couldn't you read Jagex's reason for updating it? They wanted to make the game more enjoyable for the new players. Slap in the face? The game changes, in case you didn't know. Go and create a new account and restart if you're so jealous. So any update that makes the game more interesting for new players is a "huge slap in the face"? What kind of logic is this? The name is utterly disgraceful? I think your intellectual capacity and English vocabulary is even more disgraceful. As bacara1138 has said, Constitution can also mean "the physical character of the body as to strength, health, etc". Don't blame Jagex for your severely limited vocabulary. If you are so inmature that can only attack me on a personal level you should really ask yourself why you are finding yourself in this section of the forum. I think you should also seriously question yourself in regard to your respect towards other users. I won't get all furious and enraged when someone doesn't agree with my opinion, and neither should you when somebody doesn't agree with yours. Next time, please think before flaming at me just because I didn't express my opinion the way you like it. Great move to avoid answering to the topic at hand. This is a debate. If you can't stand a little sarcasm and some swearing to emphasise my point, then please leave. You're the one being immature and just plain ridiculous for sidetracking from the topic and clearly avoiding the issues I've raised. ----------- You claim the update is totally unnecessary. 1. It speeds up training, as I explained in another post. 2. It makes the game more exciting for new players, allowing Jagex to not lose as many potential customers. 3. It opens up the horizons for many new weapons/armor that could reduce max life points and stuff like that. The game changes for goodness's sake. There will always be new stuff to replace the old to make the game more interesting and more enjoyable. Learn to accept it rather than waste your time ranting against it. Did you ever hear your parents saying "it's a huge slap in our faces because our child didn't have to go through the experience of eating a bowl of porridge a day in some XXX war"? No. As bacara has pointed out, constitution means something other than the piece of paper. Why don't you check your dictionary before you try and attack Jagex for "using the wrong word". Or alternatively, you can learn how to pay attention in school... In conclusion, your entire argument is absurd and illogical. It has no evidence, simply opinion. Sure, you're entitled to your own opinion, but I doubt anyone's going to pay much heed to it if it's completely illogical and has no basis.
  11. Fully agreed. Also, if you have a say +2 strength bonus, you get on average 5 more damage per hit. Previously it was 0.5, and it'll always be rounded down and not added to your exp. However, now you get 2 more exp per hit on average. Or you effectively hit 1 more damage every 2 hits. And you're saying the update is pointless...
  12. [snap] Totally unnecessary? Couldn't you read Jagex's reason for updating it? They wanted to make the game more enjoyable for the new players. Slap in the face? The game changes, in case you didn't know. Go and create a new account and restart if you're so jealous. 13. Constitution Update: What is the problem? The lack thereof. Seriously, people are making a huge fuss over a completely mundane, small update like that. Do people really lack the mental capacity to comprehend an extra digit? It's not like the suddenly made the hits show 5 digits + a huge chain of decimals or anything like that... Some people claim it's a pointless update. So has been many other patches, updates, etc the past year and before. The hullabaloo isn't because the update is pointless or is a bad one - it's because the idiots in the RSOF and in RuneScape have incredibly low IQ.
  14. This is pretty much the most obvious solution to fix the GE. No need for long-winded posts and complicated solutions. Sometimes the simplest, most obvious solutions are overlooked. And in some cases, they are the best ones.
  15. quelmotz replied to Delita125's topic in Rants
Mage is behind the other two BOTH aggressively and defensively, at least in F2P. But otherwise, a good observation.
  16. It's called Clan Wars.
  17. How ironic. It's like saying "!$*@(#%(#% this is so unfair" then the next line saying "oh, it's really good". Wow wow wow, halt there. I'm not being THAT exagerated. And I never said it was unfair! You just cut my post to make it look bad. I think it's cool, because mages would be more powerful, even more than the classic melee fighter, but maybe just adding to much power to this side of the triangle would unbalance it again. And if it gets implemented it would never be as raw as it is now, it would obviously have some changes, and that is what I mean. It has to be refinated, that's all I meant. Mages wouldn't be overpowering melee fighters at all IMO. Instead of simply making a statement, why not back it up with evidence like overpowering DPS or scenarios showing overpowered combos of spells? I never attacked the part about it needing changes, did I? You're the one getting heated up. And by the way, it's "exaggerated" and "refined".
  18. How ironic. It's like saying "!$*@(#%(#% this is so unfair" then the next line saying "oh, it's really good".
  19. For example? What - having the levels to complete a quest and get a quest cape/some other rewards! Oh, how could I forget, a skill cape! Easy EXP for other skills! Wow! Firemaking currently has almost no practical uses as I know of.
  20. quelmotz replied to polo2340's topic in Rants
That was because that was when you just started. Everyone sort of felt like it was an unexplored wilderness when first starting. When you know where everything is on the map, it kind of loses that... I don't see the relevance of this. It'll never feel like an unexplored wilderness to be anymore just because I know the map and there is nowhere I really can explore anymore and feel like it is unexplored. Emotions and logic don't go together. Rants forum = full of emotions = no logic. EDIT: Not saying that the lack of evidence/logic/relevance in a rant makes it valid or anything.

Rants forum: The place where logicality is negatively infinite...
  22. Coincidence and chance = RuneScape's failure? Seriously. Don't blame a recent spate of bad luck on an update.
  23. quelmotz replied to NotoriousPSC's topic in Rants
RuneScape is evidently immortal yet mortal at the same time. It can "die" but never really "die".
  24. quelmotz replied to Petee's topic in Rants
Seriously? RIP hitpoints? The skill just got renamed, it didn't die for god's sake. It's just an extra digit. Don't tell me your maths sucks so much...
