    RIP OLD SCHOOL

Choose then: No Pk in wilderness and free trade. or No Runescape at all as it will be closed down from bots and RWT. Really, it's been more than 2 years already, end of story. Someone needs to copy this and distribute it as a template. Or heck, have some codes whereby if "RWT, Jagex" and some other related words appear too much in a post, automatically reply to it with that template.
  2. It's arrogant to not give your phone number out to a stranger? Setting your private chat to "on" is parallel to walking around with your phone number/address printed all over your clothes in real life. Anyone who wants to call you to irritate you will do so. (1.) They're too good/busy to talk with people who aren't on their friends list. I'm too GOOD for you! I didn't give you my phone number! Seriously, if you're busy concentrating on grinding or doing something that they don't want to chat at the same time as they're doing it, then how is it "arrogant" of you to set your private chat to "friends"? (2.) They're unwilling to help anybody who might be PMing them for help with something. They might be in a bad mood or something. Are you expecting everyone to be benevolent saints, always ready to help anyone in need? (3.) They are at a higher level above those who have their Private Chat set to 'On'. How so?
  3. Have you played dungeoneering past the first few levels/complexity settings? You need smithing to make weapons for some statues, solve other puzzles that require resources, etc to open the door to the key for the boss room for practically any level at complexity settings of 2-3 or more...
  4. I find it amazing how you managed to attain the time to write such messages. If you're preaching about not wasting time then practice it. It's one of my pet peeves. Looking at your other thread about "a life bound to membership", I find it a ridiculously trivial issue to create a WHOLE RANT over. I think you've spent a few times as much time posting in that thread than I have been correcting aure22's English.
  5. And how so? Apparently no one's complaining about HUGE flaws in the game engine/design that warrant a complete overhaul. The issue of F2P level 90+ combat players getting their EXP halved is not a significant flaw in the game design/engine. It's ridiculous, I agree, but I would hardly consider it as something that warrants a complete revamp of the skill.
  6. Your "masses" is dictated by your attitude towards the game and your character. In no way is it the literal masses.

@Omali and Sonic: I said "CAN". Most people are just nostalgic idiots ranting about the removal of the wilderness, but I'm quite sure there are intelligent people there who can make a good thread about some historical events (e.g. some historical articles in the Tip.It Times).

Their opinions can be superior to yours with regards to past events/issues in RS which are not news.
  9. Another one of those people who make random threads and not post a reason as to their point...
  10. Actually, it really only made big effects on the day of release. Since then, prices are reverting back to normal. Iron ores plunged to about 240gp on release day (it's usually 260-275gp), but are slowly rising back up now. Still, it must have some sort of economical effect. For example sights on range, bonecrusher on prayer, etc. Even as you say its initial "excitement" effect is over, the rewards' effect probably have not come into effect (pardon the pun) yet, as they require quite a lot of training to attain. Wow, this reminds me of how long I haven't mined iron to sell...last time I was selling iron ores for 100gp or so per piece...
  11. Precisely. People just want SOMETHING to whine about, regardless of what.
  12. Are players always fighting with lower levelled monsters? They only do so when training. You have the advantage when you're taking on bosses/higher levelled players. Unless you're near level 126, that is. But no update can cater to everyone, so you'll have to live with it. Lower levelled players benefit greatly, and Jagex is a profit-seeking organisation after all, and there are many more lower levelled players. Since when did I talk about invincibility? I merely said the update allowed new updates to be released to the system. For example reducing maximum life points, raising your max life points, etc. Those just add new twists to the combat system. How the hell would they even come close to making players infallible? Jagex wanted to make it easier for lower levels to train. Also, since some people have been claiming it does not increase your hits at higher levels at all, then either both points are neutralised or both stand, since higher levelled people also train on high levelled monsters. RuneScape uses a RNG. Yes, and so? It generates numbers like 1.1, 2.3, etc too, doesn't it? It will be more accurate than a RNG that rounds off the hits to 1 and 2 respectively.. So the only reason Jagex is doing this is to make more money. Ok. I'll live with that. Although players are not invincible, I said that you get more time to react. That means more time to eat, more time to teleport, and more time to move/pray. Raising maximum HP is, you guessed it(I surely hope so), raising the level cap. Draining HP? Sure sounds like damage to me. Its just a excuse to raise the level cap. They can't just take away the skillcapes of the people who already have them. I suspect there will be "True Skill Mastery" capes soon, not just for Dungeoneering. Raising Maximum HP? Firstly, it's called LP. Secondly, raising the LP MAX does not raise your Constitution level, nor does it increase your LP. Draining LP means you lower the max from say 50/99 to 50/89, so the person cannot heal as much and is more susceptible to death. Also, your third point is simply incorrect, higher levelled players do not train on higher levelled monsters. Everyone trains on what hits low on you, and has high HP. The only reason higher levelled players "move up" is that they can 1-2 hit monsters. High levels can already hit these monsters plenty well. This simply helps lower level'd players hit harder on higher leveled things. There is no linear relationship comparing your level and the monster you fight. For training, it is somewhat linear, but stops for players around 80-90. I'm not talking about TRAINING, I'm talking about bosses, players, etc. PvP, Boss Hunting, Clan Wars, etc etc. More accuate=More hits. More accurate = more precise hits, not more hits. As in 0.1 and 0.9 are reflected as 1 and 9 respectively, not 0.
  13. Missed your post. Are players always fighting with lower levelled monsters? They only do so when training. You have the advantage when you're taking on bosses/higher levelled players. 14. language is the tool, not the master dont be a knob abt it Let's see you drill a hole in a diamond with a wooden peg. awful, floored analogy is awfully floored your communication skills aren't really up to scratch yourself tbh; all the words are in the right places - but i've yet to see you post anything of value, just a pile of pathetic attempts to 'intellectually' e-bully ot - i dislike all 'new' skills out of habit, i'll probably get round to trying it out in a few months when someone points out one of the rewards are fun/useful and then i'll grind for it and sicken myself before reaching my goal - its all good ;) Explain how? Easy to spout [cabbage] without backing it up. You talk about things of value when all you spout is [cabbage] and a few occasional valid points. Talk about hypocrisy. Oh I'm so sorry, you're entitled to your own opinion after all... I've made many posts where no one has even rebutted. Talking about actual arguments, I've wrote a lot more than you. All you've done is express your opinion, which is fine, but don't try to attack people for not posting anything "real" if you haven't done much of it yourself. "MOST" quests and skills? I think you got it the other way round. Anyway, I'll rephrase. Dungeoneering occurs in its own dungeon, but it does affect the main game, economically. It's rewards might be limited in effect but people are driven to train to do better in Dungeoneering, affecting the economy. I heard somewhere that air runes' prices had increased recently. I'm not sure about this though.
  15. I can use specifically constructed traits and opinion veiled as fact to do that too. Watch. I think you'll find this quite shocking: Runescape - A taco 1. Provided by a company - Provided by a company. 2. Can be enjoyed by yourself or with a group - Can be enjoyed by yourself or with a group 3. Extra perks for cash - Extra toppings for cash 4. Token based reward system - punchcard based reward system 5. Grinding levels - Grinding beef 6. Choice between 23 skills - Choice of beef, chicken, or fish 7. Unbelievable amount of hype prior to release of new features - Unbelievable amount of hype prior to release of new tacos 8. NOT A SANDWICH - NOT A SANDWICH (BUT OCCASIONALLY A TOSTADA) *edit* 9. "death" means nothing (you can buy your stuff back) - "death" means nothing (If you drop your taco or it's not right you can get a new one) Need I say more? Hopefully now people will recognize the elephant in the room: Runescape is actually a taco. More importantly, Tacos rule. The epitome of an analogy. Sometimes you just need something like this to show idiots the idiocy in their statements.
  16. language is the tool, not the master dont be a knob abt it Let's see you drill a hole in a diamond with a wooden peg. --- And my dear friend, it's pretty obvious when you're intentionally not replying because you lack any solid arguments. Let me ask you - are there maps of dungeons/magical areas (e.g. rune ess mine) in the MAIN RuneScape map? No. So following this logic they're separate from the MAIN game. So are dungeoneering's dungeons.
  17. Since when did I say that I don't play the game? I merely pointed out the irony that your arguments are more incoherent than mine even though you claim to have more experience.
  18. How would I know English isn't your mother tongue? I'm very critical of people who have English as their mother tongue but write it even worse than non-native speakers - they're a disgrace to the language. I am not a native English (or American/Australian/what have you) speaker for that matter, so if I can write English of a certain standard so can you. And no need to try and excuse yourself. I can already see you're trying to avoid the second part of my post, the real arguments, because you have nothing to say. Selective retaliation is one of the most often employed methods here, so I know too well when you're intentionally evading my arguments. Dungeoeering is a mini-game in most aspects and not only in "some aspects", fact that it combines combat, puzzles and exp for different skills does not make it less mini game and Dungeoneering token reward system is more characteristic for mini games than skills. It is separated from main game, it has internal level system (call them floors if you wish), it employs a team play, IT IS SAFE so you cant die! It does not need raw material for leveling, it does not affect economy (or game at large) any way and it is very simple compared diverse spirit of some true skills like Summoning, Crafting, Construction etc...It design is blatantly simple: do a 1000 tasks - get a cookie from reward shop. Dungeoneering is first such a "skill" while there is MANY mini-games like this....or MOST of them, in fact. And what i did said before about that OUT OF TOPIC flaming grammar theme (it is not so bad that it does need constant mentioning or mentioning at all) i will say again - SHUT UP! Out of topic? English is what makes your topic readable. Anyway, look here - don't try to bullcrap your way through arguments if you don't know anything about the mechanics going on behind the skill. Dungeoneering is one of the most complex updates Jagex has released. I can't claim I'm even half an expert at computers, but some people who do know what they're talking about have said that the engine behind the skill took a long time for Jagex to develop. The system of instances is FAR MORE COMPLEX than the engine behind any minigames in RuneScape per se. Diverse spirit? That will come in time, but from your opening post you seem to assert that Dungeoneering is going to fail completely as a skill. And dungeoneering's training methods are far more diverse and interesting than the drill-like training for many other skills. I really fail to understand your statement about it being "do 1000 tasks and get a cookie". Isn't that what slayer is? Isn't that what training combat, mining, woodcutting, what have you are? All skills are "cut X logs, mine X ores, etc and get a cookie". Blatant logical fallacy. Thirdly, so what if you're safe? Aren't you safe while mining too, other than the golem which won't kill anyone unless you're AFK? Team play in dungeoneering is completely optional. If you're high levelled enough its easy to do it without a team, and it isn't impossible without a team even for low levels. And other skills require a team at times, e.g. training combat in Pest Control, etc. In fact, many spend most of their time training certain skills in minigames. So I fail to see your point. It's separated from the main game. Mining Rune Essence and crafting runes are separated from the main game too, so are much of the places where you train combat and some other skills. So what the hell are you talking about? It does not affect the game? That is ABSURD. People will train their skills all-round to get Dungeoneering EXP faster, etc. Don't tell me this motivation doesn't affect the game nor the economy (more items are generated, etc)? Air runes' prices have already been increasing, at least from hearsay. I suggest you just shut up with your incoherent arguments before you humiliate yourself further.
  19. Uh, do you think Jagex is stupid enough to let you have such high stats forever?
  21. If anything, my only "guilt" has been an inability to frame my arguments in a manner simple enough for you to understand it. However, that's really not my fault, given that you lack anything resembling background knowledge of RS. And although I'd like to say that we'll have to agree to disagree, I feel compelled to point out that you have less overall exp than a great many people have exp in individual skills. Wow! A great surprise that you insisted on maintaining your own innocence... Does experience in-game have to do with Constitution? I fail to see which part of Constitution it is that such a huge amount of in-game experience is required to make an argument. On the contrary, it seems that you who continually boast about your own experience is the one making ridiculous arguments.
  22. Did read it and i'm not agreed at all. This is meant to be a mini game and even quiet obvious one.And It cannot even compared a Slayer skill...Post you did recommend to me is utter nonsense and pathetic excuse! If we make Stealing Creation a skill then it is quiet similar "skill". Your English standard resembles that of a child. Learn how to use English properly. Aside from that, Dungeoneering might be similar to a minigame in some aspects, but as I know no minigame combines combat, puzzles, EXP for other skills (while doing the "minigame") and a reward system with such diverse applications. Furthermore, it is highly replayable as there are many instanced dungeons. It has far more "playing fields" than the limited 5 or so in Clan Wars and 1 in most other minigames.
  23. the point is though...they're trying to bridge the gap between things that should not be bridged. Bridging the gap between quests and minigames is different, as then nothing is really affected other than qp. But having a skill like a minigame, well, it'd be like if they told you that mining was no longer a skill...or summoning, and that they'd be removing all the xp, all the 99's, everything, and just turning it into everyone allowing to get any ores they wanted. I fail to see your logic. You claim it's bridging the gap between skills and minigames...this I agree. But your analogy about mining becoming not a skill, etc is ridiculous. Firstly, just because one skill is similar to a minigame doesn't mean ALL skills are. And dungeoneering is more of an "applied" skill, as in it uses levels from other skills, so I cannot see how in the world would the negative consequences be as disastrous as you pontificate.
  24. I think it was meant to be expanded upon later on. Unlike summoning, it doesn't start with as much content. Maybe Jagex somehow ran out of originality or just wanted to rush the skill out to please the crowds.
  25. So what if a skill seems like a minigame (or activity)? Can't Jagex create something remotely innovative without people ranting about it being too revolutionary or something? Plenty of people spend almost all their time training a skill (or at least within a certain range of levels) in "activities", so does it mean those skills are essentially "activities" too? Admittedly it could do with improvements as people have mentioned, but you can't expect a skill to be perfect on the release. Skills are changed and have things added upon them all the time.
