Post all RS Screenshots, Videos, and Sounds here!
World 2 on January 1, 2008 - Old prices of everything on the final day of free trade. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lW7657zxSI I apologize for the spelling errors, lack of audio, and poor quality. But it's better than nothing, right?

What do F2Pers actually deserve?
If f2p is a demo like you said.. the "Instant Demo" of runescape is actually a Super-demo? What's so difficult about reading the word "instant"? You're maybe the third person to say this? Instead of the regular Demo (signing up and then playing), you can try an Instant version of said Demo (playing and then signing up). REALLY not that complicated..... Couldn't agree more.
-
What do F2Pers actually deserve?
You can have Fletching, Blue D'hide, Yew Bows, Green Dragons (hide crafting yes, ability to bury the bones they drop no), Maple Trees (you can already buy/burn them...), Chaos Altar, Wave Spells, Entangle, basic treasure trails, attack/def pots, and TzHaar City (no obby drops/onyx, though). And F2P is a demo btw. The only reason MMG says it isn't is so that RS can gain free publicity from the Guinness Book of World Records for "World's Most Popular Free Game/MMO." Jagex is a business, and businesses need to increase profits and cut spending. Free advertising would solve that problem pretty well, don't you think?

Don't you think it's kinda lame and arrogant to have Private Chat set to 'Friends'?
I get spammed/annoyed by random kids who used to watch my videos. Public chat "On" at GE (and everywhere). This is relevant how...? My private chat has been on "Friends" since I was level 6 in '04. I don't delete friends. If i were to run out of room, I would remove my RSC friends who haven't been on in 5 or so years, and keep them in the otherwise useless Notes Tab. Hell, there's no way you should hit 200 Friends as a normal player (Zezima, Skychi, Clan Boss, etc would be non-normal) unless you're so insecure about your life that you need 200 people constantly messaging you on a game.

10xHitpoints
No. Six years of normal hits vs. 2 months of this garbage. I always drop the last digit or mentally add a decimal. Literally no point to this update. They should let us choose between x1, x10, x100, etc for our own screens so the children can hit as high as they like and the veterans can stop being annoyed  inb4wbmreply

Herb Farming
I don't know about Snaps or Rannars, but I personally grow Toadflax. With a very low mortality rate, each seed is a profit of ~30k+. I average about 7.5 herbs per patch, so you'll probably get around 8 or so (super compost and magic secateurs were used). Seed: 1,400 Toadflax: 4,350 8 herbs: 34,800 40 herbs (five patches): 174k Total seed cost: 7k Final profit: 167k (or 133.6k/hr) I don't recommend using them for Herblore.

A Second Bonus Week
It's not just about the hoarding. Bonus weekends are incredible opportunities to save tons of money and time (especially in regards to summoning; two posters said that the last bonus weekend saved them about 100 hours of charm collecting). It literally devalues skills, and not in the same way that new training methods do. Competition for GWD worlds skyrocketed after the last bonus weekend. You're deluded if you think that the majority of players will respond any differently to how I've said they would. You may be above taking advantage of these weekends, but most of us aren't as intelligent as you, apparently. Again, you presume to be aware of how the majority of the Runescape population will react. Again, you don't have any response as to why this has anything to do with Jagex. Jagex should not and does not cater to immature 12 year olds who no-life just because of an up-coming bonus. A bonus is a reward, not a goal. The fact that you think you even have an argument is hilarious to me. "Some kids might no-life and it might affect the economy like every other major update, please don't do it Jagex" -------------------------- As for the devaluation of the skill, this has no real effect on players. It only has the mental effect of "oh, they got the exp faster than me". Which is no different than what RS veterans feel today. Do you think RS veterans enjoy seeing people getting 99 WC easily with ivy? No, but it's part of the game. And this is only temporary, unlike ivy. There's this cool new thing called "history" that likes to repeat itself. While I assume you trained like any sane player would have during the weekend, I take it you missed the opportunity to look at the forums? Yes? The spam wasn't in Rants this time, but Jagex Lite. The high levels complained and the low levels worshiped Jagex. Those of us in the middle of the road didn't really care either way. Here we see the cycle of RS. The current children love the content (can I call this content?) catered toward them, while the current teenage players complain. In a few year's time, the children will evolve into the teens and the teens will get a life when they get to college (well most of them  ). The point is that the game is split on their opinion of the weekend, but benefits everyone overall (for experience and levels, not boss hunting...). The fact that YOU think that everyone who disagrees with you is ignorant is EXTREMELY close-minded and just plain stupid. The Bonus Experience Weekend DOES have a large effect on the economy with all of the new players being able to use Unicorns and Pak-Yaks, as well as make extreme potions. Even though I don't boss hunt, (nor do I have the stats to), it's pretty crystal clear if you ask me. Accept the fact that people have different opinions than you instead of flaming them. If you're going to flame, RSOF is wide-open :)

A Second Bonus Week
But that's simply not true. Take Toony001 for example -- he had tens of thousands of charms saved up which he used to take the #1 spot for summoning last bonus exp weekend. Not everyone has the same opportunity to stock up on supplies, especially in an economy where people will surely turn to junk trades to get the supplies they need upon announcement of a second bonus weekend. Who wins? Those who saved up charms or had the junk necessary to purchase their supplies. The better/smarter player always wins. Whats your point? Because lazy = smart, right? Buying summoning supplies and procrastinating to use them hardly proves intelligence. There was no way he could have known about the weekend before any other player. Off-Topic: I wonder if the Demo will get the Bonus XP this time around.

What annoys you the most in RuneScape?
I'm sure we've all seen the kids who open gates at Pest Control intentionally or the ones who plant flowers where you try to firemake. Of all of these behaviors (not just limited to these two), which is it that just boils your blood?

Runescape 'Instant-Demo'
Nothing is being assumed except the fact that you can't understand anything. BASIC economics. Internet advertising is usless. No one clicks on advertisements. Television ads are too expensive. Newspaper/magazine ads are ineffective for a game with children like yourself who don't read. What's the best FREE advertising? PUBLICITY. What is a GREAT way to get publicity? A world record. "Most popular free game." is sure to attract tens of thousands of new kids who check out the record books from their school libraries. AND by every legitimate definition, F2P is a demo. -Free -Greatly limited content -Updates once in a blue moon -You run out of NEW things to do in a matter of hours -The full game waiting on the other side of that $5 bill in your wallet (or piggy bank in your instance) I'm going to enjoy proving you wrong. -Free: So if a game is free then it's a demo? Tell that to all the excellent free online games that are supported by micro-transactions. -Greatly limited content: Again, you don't understand what you're talking about. None of the content in F2P is limited. F2P is not a smaller version of Members. Members is an expansion of the F2P game. -Updates once in a blue moon: A game does not need to be updated to be considered a game. The most popular online game right now, World of Warcraft, only gets a patch once every few months. Tell the 10 million+ subscribers that they arent playing a game. -The full game waiting on the other side: F2P is the full game. There is a paid expansion called Members. I don't care if you think Jagex is lying. You can jump on the anti-Jagex bandwagon all you want. The fact of the matter is that F2P has no limits and they are right to say that it is not a demo. I don't even think you have ever played a demo if you think F2P is a demo. I'm not on an anti-Jagex bandwagon. There have only been four updates in 6 years that have pissed me off. Just because you don't understand basic economic principles does not mean I hate Jagex by any means. I've only sent them ~$260 in this 4 year period. I enjoy playing RuneScape, not the RuneScpae demo. If the demo was the game, why the hell would I bother to CONTINUALLY pay for "an expansion." Sorry but my bull[cabbage] detector is off the charts. Please go back and WBM on RSOF, instead of spamming TIF. Thanks, Studio1417

Runescape 'Instant-Demo'
You literally just made up everything you said. Jagex hasn't said anything about the demo other than it exists and its for a quick introduction to the game. The demo has nothing to do with F2P. You sound like you're 12 years old and lack the comprehension required to understand what Jagex says. Nothing was made up. Take a damn business class once you get to high school in 3-4 years. He's 100% right. This forum has majorly gone down hill since the WBM epidemic. The demo is F2P, now there is an INSTANT version of said demo. You say I can't comprehend, yet it seems you can only read every other line. Here's a hint: read everything. A demo is a demonstration of a full game. F2P is the demonstration of RuneScape. Jagex attempts to hook players in to the real game with a free demo like many large retail games. Notice how on the "What is RuneScape?" page, they say "over 15,000 hours of gameplay!" but then drastically lower that on the log in screen to "5,000+"? Jagex is willing to lie for business. It's a victimless crime, get over it and go cry more. Um, i'm in my 2nd year of college. And yes, everything he said was made up. Jagex has always stated that F2P is a full game. And it is. Every piece of content in F2P has no limitations. Therefore, F2P is not a "demonstration" of anything. F2P doesn't demonstrate the dragon scimitar. F2P doesnt demonstrate Taverley. Thats because there is no MEMBERS content in F2P, not even in a limited state. Members is an expansion to the game that is F2P. You don't know what the hell you're talking about. You're talking about your opinion of F2P, not the fact of what it actually is. The log-in screen doesnt say Instant Demo | Demo | Members. The only reason why its called "instant" is because it doesn't require any account creation or process. You can instantly play the game. Lost sheep believing everything you hear. Just because a company SAYS something, that doesn't make it true. Look at any commercial for a product. They hype it up, it looks all great, and then when you get it, it's a piece of [cabbage]. They SAY it's NOT a demo to keep their infamous world record. Sorry to tell you this, but Jagex is a BUSINESS in the REAL world. In this "real world" there is what is called an "economy," where other businesses compete for your money. Now, when the economy becomes bad, businesses become "desperate." They lose loyal customers for financial reasons and need to replace them fast. What's the best way to do that? LIE. Let me demonstrate a lie to you right now: "Wanna-be-mods contribute more than lulz to TIF." See how easy that was? I can make a blatantly false statement and little sheep will quote me saying that WBMs contribute something. You'll be screwed in the real world if you believe everything you hear. You better watch out for that.

Runescape 'Instant-Demo'
-Clan Wars, Bounty Hunter, and Duel Arena were in exchange for the Wilderness... No New content -Stronghold of Security/Player Safety was initially implemented so the ADD 10 year olds who wouldn't read the game guide would learn how not to be stalked/hacked.... Not Content, just the rules presented in a way that kids who won't read will learn (which they removed all references to?) -Graphics: The Demo is part of the whole game. You can't update the full game without updating that part of the demo too. To reiterate: The ONLY reason that Jagex says it is not a demo is so they can receive free publicity from the record books for "World's Largest/Best Free MMO/Online Game." F2P is a demo. You don't even know what a demo is. F2P has no limits. You can do everything in the game without limitations. If you want expanded content, you can purchase the Members expansion. Stop being ignorant. Ok. Since F2P has no limits, why don't you walk through Taverly gate, walk to Rogue's Den, and AFK monks while WBM'ing on the RSOF all while playing the demo? Go for it. If you want the full game, you pay $5 for something you do 8+ hours a day anyway. EDIT: Best TIF Quote ever.

And in a demo you can only do a certain amount of things before you can't go any further. How many times must it be repeated to make people understand, F2p isn't a demo!! This would be like...Gnome copters. Except you can actually do things yourself (Very limited amount, I'm sure. I've not actually seen it nor heard of it before now.) You have your definitions mixed up. A Free Trial is a demo with a limited amount of time/uses. F2P receives no updates (3-5 new minutes of content from Blood Pact doesn't count) and is only a fraction of the full game. I'm fairly certain that is a demo. The ONLY reason that Jagex says it is not a demo is so they can receive free publicity from the record books for "World's Largest/Best Free MMO/Online Game." F2P is a demo. ON TOPIC: I believe this is a good idea. Now there is an instant-demo for those who wish to test F2P before wasting a user name on an account. Sounds good to me.

Do you like change?
Firstly, it is a link to a specific post in my blog (not even at the top where my blog itself is). I know you guys couldn't give a damn about about my bio, goals, etc; that's mostly for me, but for anyone that wants to know something about me (especially considering how unknown I am on these forums). Where should I put it where it wouldn't be considered spam? I bet you would have personally locked it, had I posted it in General. Secondly, excluding this update, I haven't complained about one since the PC changes in July 07 (which I still hate to this day). Don't label me in with the "I can't get used to change I'm going to quit." group. Thirdly, that's not selfish, that's asking for fairness to everyone. Unlike you, I'm thinking of everyone, not just the people who agree with me. Having a toggle doesn't affect your ability to hit "500s." I don't hate hitting high. In fact, I enjoy doing so. I'm not referring to hitting high. I'm referring to your average pure who complain about EVERY update, cry when they die, name-call, trash-talk, etc. Do you know an older player who behaves like this (pure or not)? Probably not. But all that is irrelevant to the point at hand. 50=500; 1=10; etc. If it's not a big deal, then you admit it was pointless. This is a nuisance to boss hunters and pvpers alike. I don't care how good you are at math, you will not be able to mentally add random 3 digit numbers in a very short time frame while being under even the slightest stress. EXAMPLE: Before update: I tried killing Nomad, coming very close twice. I gave up for a bit while training my range 4 levels (for 80), prayer 7 levels (for sap mage), and my other combat stats by at least 1 (except summ but I already had War Tort). After update: I barely got Nomad to the point where he heals before I ran out of food. My point being that you panic when you see 324+253+185+276 being hit. You don't mentally add those numbers. You panic when you see your health below half and you eat far over your max (even with the brews' special ability to go over max). ESPECIALLY with brews that don't heal a set amount, but they're based on your level. Now I have to spend months getting used to this pointless system that I have spent six years becoming familiar with? I'm sorry, but screw that. Quit being selfish and agree to a compromise that everyone will like. Honestly, I understand the problems with decimals in JAVA, but how hard is it to add a visual white dot to the hit splat? It's not. Toggle the dot on/off to your liking. No one is affected, end of story. You got your way so now you say (or rather imply) "to hell with anyone that disagrees with me." This is the immaturity expected of a 12 year old, not an adult. Act like one. EDIT: Since I have addressed every single point (my new haters <3 have) made, I'll be done posting. Feel free to read the copy of my forum post if you don't understand what I mean by updates that interfere with the game. I'm done posting here before the flaming gets any worse. Peace.

Because it was possible to hit 0.1-0.9 before, right? Why do you need to condescend people by calling them "kiddies" who pathetically want to feel "cool"? Why are you so smug and think that you're more mature and intelligent than everyone else? Obviously everyone does understand that damage is relative. It's as fun to hit a 500 as your max hit now as it was to hit a 50 as your max hit because they are equivalent. At the same time, I'm sure that there is an equivalent to a RuneScape max hit in WoW which one should derive the same amount of pleasure from hitting. It seems that YOU are the only person unable to realize this and hence you hate the update. If anything, the update only increases the pleasure that can be derived from hitting your max hit since most players' max hits will now be rarer. This update has very few functional changes to the game. It's nothing to get would up over. Quit whining and just adjust to it. I never claimed to be more mature/intelligent than anyone else. This is just my stereotype of kids who are stupid enough to only train strength (generally the immature/younger players). There is honestly no point to this update other than to annoy everyone that's been playing longer than six damn months. Honestly, I started playing this game six years ago when I was 9 and I didn't cry if I hit a 0 or if a monster hit a 1 on me. Solution: Make low levels train instead of making updates that interfere with the rest of the game/players.

Firstly, where else should I put it? It's my personal place to put things I write that aren't worth their own thread. No one is forcing you to read the blog itself. Secondly, the main argument of your side seems to be that "it's not any different." If this is the case, there's nothing new to enjoy. How am I being selfish? My thread clearly suggested a decimal (more of a white dot in the hit splat than a mathematical decimal) or toggle to show the third digit or not. The definition of selfish is only caring about one's own needs or wants. My suggestion would be beneficial to everyone. In fact, if anyone is being selfish, it is you. You got your way so you now you ONLY want this way. Don't say it would be a waste of time to make this change. They wasted enough time multiplying everything by 10. "But the new potions that make your max HP higher..." Oh, right, because it's not possible to have 110/99 as your base (using base loosely) HP, right? You claim I'm jumping on the "wow bandwagon," yet I played it back in August 08 for a week. I didn't think I was "so cool" because I hit higher than a level 138 would in RS as a new player in WoW. To scale, it means nothing. This was honestly a pointless waste of resources. If they decide to make the toggle, they should let the kiddies set it at x10, x100, x1000, x10000, etc, etc so they can feel as "cool" as they want. Problem solved? Because it was possible to hit 0.1-0.9 before, right?

Hi Hamtaro's Blog
INTRO: Hello, Jagex. I have been playing your game for six years as of next Sunday. I was a member of the so-called Miniclip generation that inspired you to introduce an age requirement for the game. I was 9. Now, I played my first two years in RSC. STORY: What did I get to begin the game with? 50 gp, a bucket, a pot, a fishing net, a pickaxe, and an axe (hatchet now?). I began the game, absolutely fascinated by the world around me. Instantly, with my older brother's "supervision," I began exploring this new world. I eventually made my home in the Dwarven mines, saving up for the beloved rune pickaxe (as a level 6) and obtaining 41 mining. One day, my brother wanted to train range, so he had me attack the dwarf (level 28?) and I died. I lost everything except my rune pic and 2 mith ores. I... I died... Tears filled my eyes as I watched people gather around my corpse saying "lmao." Now, did I quit over this? No. What did I do? I began leveling combat. I wanted my revenge against the dwarves. So I trained and I trained, hitting constant zeroes. Did I quit? I didn't have an in-game world map (I didn't even know about tabs either!) and I didn't have two people guarding every possible exit out of Varrock/Lumbridge/Draynor. Answer me Jagex, did I quit? Here I am six years later. What has kept me with this game through thick and thin? It's fun, there are constant updates (you never play the same game two weeks in a row), there was always that feeling of risk and the great sense of pride that followed, there was exploring a HUGE map, and there were, of course, my good friends. Now I ask you, Jagex, if I never had these things that today’s new players had, yet I’m still around, why bother? I did*’t care if I hit a 0, it was part of the game. I did*’t care if I got lost, I would simply find my way back to civilization. Exploring was FUN. I loved it. But now, all sense of awe and risk is gone… We have gates, interfering with day-to-day activities, we have a confusing new Hit Points system, and we have everything that my generation had to work for, essentially given to new players. Now, I couldn’t care less about fairness. I’m talking about the impact that some of these unnecessary issues have on the game. Let me ask you this, Jagex. When a new player stumbles upon your website, do they instantly subscribe to membership without playing the demo first (I know it’s not a demo, but for simplicity’s sake, go with it, please)? No. They will play the game and explore as I did. When they have completed most of the content in the free world, they may or may not become interested with the further features of the game. If they do, they subscribe, already being familiar with an eighth or so of the game. If you can remove p2p exclusive things on f2p worlds, couldn’t it be reversed as well? To put it simply, the gates have to go (at least in p2p). On top of this, I feel that the old Hitpoints system needs to be brought back into effect. The dev blog made it clear that the purpose of the HP update was so that new players weren’t killed as easily and that they would hit fewer 0s. As stated earlier, neither bothered me. We had food for the first, and patience for the latter. This HP update was simply unnecessary. At best, you could add a white dot to hit splats to signify a decimal. The veterans of this game have become accustomed to the classic 99 HP system. Players will still call LP/Constitution HP. Two examples of this would be the DDP still being called the DDS by nearly every player and the dragon hatchet being called the dragon axe. The name change was even more unnecessary than the system change. RuneScape is different from other MMO’s. I have gone off and tried several other ones with systems like the one implemented in RuneScape recently. The old system was far superior. I came to value the simplicity of it. But RuneScape is now, in my opinion, trying to just become another MMO out there, constantly copying their rivals. I don't appreciate this. The originality of RuneScape was a factor that kept me playing RuneScape instead of other MMO's, which were basically clones of each other with different graphics. Jagex, I beg you, I implore you... PLEASE do not continue to be like every other MMO. RuneScape is the last unique MMO and will be no different than the others if updates like these continue. If you so choose not to revert these updates, please, please, compromise. Add a decimal to the LP, remove the gates on Members worlds... something! I never complained about the removal of free trade. I never cried about the removal of the old PvP. I understood that both were necessary to the game's survival. But this... this is just... disgraceful, at best. I have remained loyal to this game throughout these six years, and I intend to do so for another 6 (and then some). Please let RuneScape stay unique. I would be extremely grateful if I was heard. Many players will appreciate this, and all-in-all, will keep more players loyal to the game. Tl;DR version: We love RuneScape and we want it to stay RuneScape :D

You'll hit 500's the same amount of times as you hit 50's before this update. People seriusly need to read the update before complaining... If his max was 50 before, he had a 1/50 chance of maxing before. Now he has a 1/500 chance of hitting his max. Also, Nomad now hits harder and requires more food thanks to the awful update. One last thing... if you're boss hunting, are you going to be able to add up 145+387+249 in the amount of time you could add 14, 38, and 24? Thought not. Update was a pointless, waste of resources that could have been used on something beneficial to the game. If the little kids enjoy hitting 400s, they can go play WoW or any other copy of it. RS is the last unique MMO and I can assure you, if more updates like this follow, there will be no more unique MMOs. Seriously, this isn't World of RuneCraft. We aren't the people who get pleasure ( ) out of hitting high. If you think you're so cool by doing that, go play any copy of the same MMO. I'm sure you'll have fun? EDIT: Here's a Copy of my Epic Rant on RSOF. Yes it's long, but it is worth it. It's not only about the HP update, but about how the whole game suffers for a small minority, unnecessarily. It was ignored in Jagex Lite (suck up forum), so I'm going to guess the suck-ups agree with me but are too afraid because "Jagex won't give me my crown."

Level 80 Curses
I thought I read that you can, but they can't be the same (e.g. sap mage and leech mage). As you have 82, prayer, can you please test?
-
Level 80 Curses
This is why I was asking people with level 80+ prayer and Curses to try.
-
Level 80 Curses
Can someone with 80+ prayer and Curses confirm or not that Sap Mage, Deflect Magic, AND Leech Defence CAN all be used at the SAME time?

Ring of Wealth
I said the percentages were not accurate, no? It is simply to show that RoW increases your chances of getting the rare drop by deleting the blank spaces (no drop). Also, charms are a secondary drop, as in you can get a normal drop and a charm or just a charm (and the 100% drop like bones).
