1.
As for overcrowding on the hitsplats... looks like as of this time that has not even been addressed, as these pictures are of a greater demon, one of the tallest creatures out there. Give it some time, and of course watch out for double team claws because I find those hilarious. Changed the font so you don't have to read "all that text" Every single thing you said was addressed the first time, but thank you for proving the following point! Bravo. I bet you'll reply with another one line response that either has no relevance whatsoever to the conversation again or something I addressed pages ago again.
2. No, I'm definitely right. ;-) Well...64 is a lootshare world. Even I can concede that soloers should endeavor not to use lootshare worlds without trying non-lootshare ones first...it's a bit greedy to hog the designated team worlds when you aren't with a team. :-? No need to be so condescending . By that and your previous posts, it sounds like you're saying since you don't believe in any religious-based morality, you don't have to (make an attempt to) show any consideration for your fellow man (contrary to popular belief there IS a person behind the computer screen of every player). I say fellow man instead of fellow player because showing consideration shouldn't be limited to your employer (or principal/college recruiter, I don't know your situation). Also, I apologize, w64 was just an example, as it's my homeworld. I forgot about Lootshare, so just pretend it's a random non-LS world. I guessed their homeworld was 22 by their Profile info on the left and my comment wasn't necessarily addressed to you (or any other user).
3. This is an accurate interpretation, yes. Oh, I read that loud and clear and I definitely disagree with it. If I can fight for a KBD spawn and win on the first world I try, then I see no reason to hop to new world and potentially have to compete with someone who can outdamage me. I say that arbitrarily hopping a few times before you crash someone isn't courtesy--it's a way of giving yourself moral high ground in the inevitable fight. (Which is unnecessary, as there aren't any morals involved as far as I'm concerned.) Sorry for a late reply, was watching EPL. I never thought about a lack of "morals." For me, morals are entirely different. I don't consider showing common courtesy "moral." I consider "morals" the basics like, you know, not killing or stealing (unless in self-defense or out of necessity). I guess I can agree with you to a certain degree, but there are so many possible instances that there isn't really a right or wrong between us. You raise a good point about there not really being a difference between, say, crashing someone in your homeworld or crashing someone in w64. It really boils down to the boss in question. At Bandos, you won't find an empty world, so I guess it won't matter how many times you hop, just crash. At DKs, TDs, KBD, or KQ (to name a few) there ARE empty/less crowded worlds, hop once or twice.
4. I could just as well point out that Player A has had their kills and it's time for them to give Player B a turn. Because there's enough spawns for two people, presumably. :ugeek: You raise a good point, but what if Player A had showed up only 2-3 kills before? Chances are if you're crashing, you're going to stay a lot longer. So, no, in that instance (and most likely most of them) they did not have their full "turn" at the boss. :rolleyes:Anyway, at TDs, certain spots are better than others and at DKs, two individuals may both be going after the same one (or same two if hybriding).
5. 3 minutes will affect either player equally. If it's so easy, then you hop. I don't boss hunt often and I've never been crashed personally. All I'm saying is that, some of the crashers here are claiming they hate having to crash, but they do so out of necessity for a spot (especially at Bandos). Just show some courtesy and attempt to hop, that's all I ask. The players being crashed had to find an open world already (thus already spent the 3+ minutes looking), so why can't you? Crashing as a last resort is fine. Crashing just to be a [bleep] or because you "need" MAX gp/hr, not so much. Okay then, you show some courtesy to me and hop when I get there if that's what you think. If you were willing to spend all that time searching around, I trust you're willing to do it again. Why is it rude to crash, but not rude to stay when someone crashes you? Seems like a double standard to me. First part is just, well, wrong. Those being crashed already spent time trying to find a world, and some [bleep]s just walks in and take it? I'm sorry but that's absurd, at best. The only courtesy I would show to those crashing would be "Would you please hop?" If not, I remember that people in general are jerks and suck it up. To those being crashed: leave or hop. Boss rooms are meant to be competitive, hence, multi-combat. As a slightly more obscure example, let's say you're killing ghosts/skeletons in the SoS. You know this is an unpopular place to train. However, someone walks in and takes all the kills, even though there are 150+ worlds that are free. How is that not being a complete jerk when you KNOW there are going to be at least a few empty worlds (such as DKs or TDs, not Bandos)? Also, it's not rude to stay, because those being crashed help you get kills faster if you can do the most damage every time (as from my example from yesterday).

7. I find this offensive. Yeah. As per usual, the people who hate crashing are the first to throw stones. Don't get me wrong, I think crashing is okay as long as an attempt is made to find an empty world. If not, crash away. I still hate efficiency-obsessed players, though. Honestly, 3 minutes won't affect you at all.

My favorite jazz is the work of Maynard Ferguson. He was quite popular in the 70s. He can hit all of the highest notes on his trumpet and is able to breathe while playing. His most notable work was the Rocky Theme Song  If you like big band jazz, this is a great guy to listen to. He was so popular, that following his death at 78 in 2006, the jazz world mourned and held a very emotional tribute concert in his honor. My father attended the concert, and it was phenomenal (I saw it on DVD).
Chameleon (my personal favorite): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SYDO3YE2AI Birdland: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMYtw9A0XR0 MacArthur Park: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khgHaqOeajs Gonna Fly Now/Rocky Theme (Not necessarily jazz, but he does hit a few high notes) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eU5FRpEo1v8 Maynard Ferguson Tribute concert version of Gonna Fly Now (dozens of trumpet and saxophone players on stage) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zg7c-kH00j0 If you liked those, I recommend Wayne Bergeron and Eric Miyashiro as well.
9. Yeah, he could switch the Quest Hall with the West Skill Hall on the ground floor. However, that would add extra distance to get to the Glory if you didn't need Prayer or Summoning.
10. It looks good for the most part. Very well designed with the placement of your teleports and other "house tools." Two things I did notice. First, there's no real need for a second kitchen. I would recommend turning your Northwest kitchen into a Combat Room. Only, instead of putting the Combat Ring in the second one, put in a Balance Beam or Ranging Pedestals. Second, if chose not to do that, you could flip your Dining Room in that picture and you could block off access to the outside of your house (might be a nice, unique feature to your house, idk).
11. My (maxed except summ/prayer/herb) friend and I crashed a guy once. We were about to hop, but you know, he had to make his little remarks. So he stayed for another 20 minutes or so helping us get quicker kills (and taking 1/3 of the damage  ). IMO, crashing should only be a last resort (at least make an attempt to hop once or twice...) or retaliation against a jerk. To all of you "efficiency players"who need max xp or gp/hr, please do the game a favor and log off. For good. It's not going to kill you to lose 3 minutes to check other worlds.
12. There's a block feature? Awesome  . Time to block a condescending jerk, a complete smart ass, and a guy who posts things that are blatantly not true (and refuses to admit it even after proven wrong). As far as I know, none of those three post here. Also, trolls can be hilarious. Counter-trolling, however, is an art. Either ignore them, or counter them. All other posts directed to said troll will simply make the individual return. After a while, the troll stops being funny, but they refuse to leave because everyone will be saying "lol obv troll u fail lolololololol" or people will begin to think they're serious, but just plain stupid.
13. But you can see your healthbar go up when you eat so that really is a poor argument to use. I would not be satisfied without a toggle or a compromise of some sort. Keep it out of all PvP situations and boss monsters (or anything 1.5x your combat level), for instance. Also, the point of having "work in progress" written on the pictures is to obtain feedback, which is what I'm giving. My so-called "rants" are feedback of what I thought of the Dev Blog as well as a related poll from a month or so ago. About the healsplats showing over hits (that they should not), that is one of the compromises I already suggested in a previous post of mine. It happens at Dung all the time which is why I bring it up... Um... wrong dude. Your health bar does not update unless you take actual damage. The healsplats are for the benefit of your attacker, and teammates who would rather cast a heal than bless your grave if you start lagging bad. As for overcrowding on the hitsplats... looks like as of this time that has not even been addressed, as these pictures are of a greater demon, one of the tallest creatures out there. Give it some time, and of course watch out for double team claws because I find those hilarious. Let me fix that. "But you can see your healthbar go up when you eat [while you're in combat] so that really is a poor argument to use." K nothing wrong now. Again, as long as HITsplats are guaranteed to show over healsplats, I can live with it (hell, a toggle would be a God-send). There are only four spots available for hit/heal splats on any given player or NPC (regardless of how tall the NPC is). As with my first example, Claws (which when using the spec will leave four splats), can theoretically hit really high on the first hit, but fail the next three (as an example). If you eat when that happens, the blob of purple covers the first (in this case massive) hit, you don't eat next round of combat, and boom KO. GF 50m in gear. Thanks for telling me how much a shark heals, Jagex . I don't appreciate my $280 from the last 4.67 years going to an unneeded, useless, and potentially harmful update (inb4wbm). Like I said before, I'm not going to quit because of it, but I will be angry. I'm still here after that incredibly useful Constitution "update" amirite? I think I've made my point well-enough now because I'm stuck repeating myself or explaining things one should already know before arguing this... :-? [/thread]
14.
Healsplats would be hell in PvP. My argument about Sharks healing 200 every single time was for slaying or bosses. Imagine as you're being claw spec'd you eat. Let's say it hit 647-12-0-35. As you're being spec'd you eat a shark, and instead of seeing the 647 against you, you see the purple 200 and think they fail the spec. Guess who gets KO'd because of healsplat spam? I'll have to pass on having that in PvP (or bosses for that matter). If you're going to say "you can see the healthbar," I say the same to you. For the second part of your post, again, trial and error. Seriously though, you CAN see the health bar, and your life points in the corner of your screen by your map. If you can't keep track of when to eat based off of this, and need to see what you're getting hit for everytime, you should stay off PvP worlds. Now I'm not saying it doesn't help to see what you're getting hit for, but did Jagex ever say that heal splats would cover damage splats? No. For all we know the heal splats could appear over your health bar. Just relax and wait until it's released before you get mad. Personally, I think this looks like a good update. And to all the haters, did you bother to look at the pics very closely at all? Notice in the corner is says "Work in progress". That means that none of this is set in stone yet. It could be ENTIRELY different than the pics when it is released into the game. How about instead of ranting and raving over a future update that is still being worked on, you just grit your teeth and wait until they put it into the game and you can see how you like it then. You never know what it'll be like, so you all just need to chill out and stop getting mad about something that is still being worked on. But you can see your healthbar go up when you eat so that really is a poor argument to use. I would not be satisfied without a toggle or a compromise of some sort. Ok, maybe not ranting, but it's still an awful lot of complaining over something that isn't even in the game yet and still being worked on. As I said before, let them put it in and you try it out before deciding that it's no good. Dude, you actually use the health bar and life points in the corner? I keep track of my HP through the damage I receive. Health bar is to inaccurate and the LP circle is way to far away from the action on the main screen. Way to far away? What? Do you have peripheral vision? I can look at my character and read my LP circle without moving my eyes. If you do have to move your eyes to see it though, it takes less than half a second to glance at it and then back to your character. Or since we already have a taste of what this update will be like, we can deduce that it will bomb without a toggle option. Also
Extremely close:

17. 1)true, but then i've been doing dung for so long now that i start panic eating when i don't see the healing splats so its not to bad of a thing for me. 2) even with trial and error there is still a controversy as to what they actually use. I've been seeing a lot of people latly at bloods with bandos armour and shields and they still argue with me about whether they have a magical melee attack. They do but they just kill them to fast to really notice it. Even more so with wyverns. Youd be surprised at the number of people who call me a noob for using range prayer against them while they are using mage prayer. There breath attack is magical yes but mage pray doesn't block it. Having these questions answered without having to get into a lengthy debate every task would be awsome for me. 3) what about for games like stealing creation? High levels comonly use familars to hide themselves so you can't see what style they are using. And even with torags it is sometimes better to pray melee or range depending on how many of them are pileing you over ranges. Same for other armour types. 1) I always found the healsplats intrusive at Dung bosses actually. I know how much a lobster/monkfish/shark heals, I don't need to see 12/16/20 (*10) every time I eat. I do, however, need to know what monsters and bosses hit. It's annoying enough at Dungeoneering imo. I would MUCH rather see what I'm being hit for than what I'm eating. I'll tell you what, as long as HITsplats take precedence over HEALsplats (in terms of which is visible, regardless of the order in which they occur), I honestly don't care if they're implemented or not (although I could still do without the clutter). 2) Misinformed players shouldn't be your priority. Keep in mind that you're more intelligent and ignore them if they harass you over it. 3) That's about the only time it would be useful (unless that's the whole purpose of using a familiar there, I'm not sure, I don't SC often). Implement it into one minigame (SC), guide mode at Dung, and the Beginner Area in F2P. I'd be fine with that. Also, I tank Claws/AGS specs all the time, usually resulting in 0s or other low numbers. Most people just have 70-75 Defense, so that wouldn't be of any use to them.
18.
This is exactly why I'm against it (although that is slightly more exaggerated). There was nothing wrong with Hitpoints before the Constitution "update," but they decided to add a purposeless extra digit which makes the splat larger (and therefore reduce visibility), anyway. Now they're going to baby us with more useless "updates" that only help brand new players (while making the game more annoying for everyone else). I know what I'm being attacked with when someone uses Ice Barrage on me. I know what I'm being attacked with when someone uses Diamond Bolts (e) on me. I know what I'm being attacked with when someone slashes me with a whip. Anyone who has played one damn game of Castle Wars knows the difference. Also, anyone who has reached the Abandoned Floors of Dung should know that Shades use both mage and ranged. Adding little icons which reduce visibility even more than before? No thanks. "OMG my hits are in vibrant red while others' are in maroon. Now people can finally believe it was my 500! [Goes to a boss] Omg can't hit 500s anymore must be a glitch. Riot W66 Fally for nerfing strength." <--- Logic of immature players who actually care who hits what. "OMG I didn't know that sharks heal 200, good thing Jagex tells me every single time I eat them now." <--- Logic of players with bad short term memories as a result of too much caffeine and/or ADHD. "OMG I can't see the BIG Deflect Melee curse icon over someone's head so I hope they add a SMALL one so I can see it better."<--- Logic of players who aren't even old enough to play. This may even be the most pointless update since they added those Beginner Gates to the game... without removing them on P2P worlds... (Honestly who's going to pay $6/month to a game they know nothing about? No one.) Pointless updates are pointless. No one is going to quit over such a worthless update, so Jagex will proceed, regardless of the opinions of the players. While we're at it, let's make hits x10,000 instead of x10 since someone will (quite cleverly) reply saying it's not spamming the screen. I don't get why people are against this update... First off the pic with the hitsplat spam, they are only going to be adding an extra splat for damage soaked up by shields. If you don't have one you will still have the same number of hit splats, only you will be able to tell what kind of damage you are taking. Of course anyone whos played a game of castle wars will realize how to tell what style a person is using. Now there are bloodvelds and wyverns which i still comonly see people debating what kind of style they are using. To have a definative answer for this would be great. And then there is also pileing. If you got six plus people pileing you what prayer should you use? If you can actually tell what style each is using it will be a great help in team games. The update is not limited to damage soaked by shields. Jagex had a poll on the healsplats from Dung, so that is why I mentioned those as well. Wyverns and Bloodvelds? Trial and error. Tank (torags, DFS, d boots, fury, skill cape, Enhanced Excalibur spec, etc) + p mage is really all you need. Tanking stops most melee/ranged damage while p mage stops what 40-60% of mage? If you're a mage, farcast meleers + p range. If you're a ranger (with dragonhide that has high mage def), p melee. That's all 3 styles blocked out, no need to know what the pile is doing. Keep updates exclusively for new players in the Beginner Area. That's its whole purpose. (Before someone mentions it, I said the Beginner Area is useless in P2P, not F2P).

20. Was that a posh way of saying that this update seems to be aimed at those who do not play the game? Well, I would find that statement purely wrong. All of the changes were given reasons which have been highlighted by actual players, and over the years have been noted by most people. I see this much like the rest and agility updates. It will take a while go get used to, but even though it will actually change very little, it will improve the game a lot. Also, what spell is being used in picture 1? Water spell I agree with Dan on this one,I really really dislike people complaining about how adding effects to attacks etc makes it more like wow. In fact the style is actually more like Guild Wars here. In Guild Wars every time damage pops up there is an icon on the left side to tell you what skill did that damage. In wow it is just a number without the icon. I know I will sound like an [wagon] for saying this, but he did say, "One must always temper success by changing everything to appeal to those that don't even play your game over those that do." and I noticed that both of you were Retired... :?
21. You just about summed it up for me. More unnecessary updates that simply add clutter to combat. Not looking forward to this by any means. However, the only way I would be mad about the update would be if they implemented those awful heal splats from Dung :ohnoes:.
22. You live close by to the town I live in . GR, I presume (I don't, but I'm jw)? On-Topic: I fit in with the nerd subculture I guess. Good grades, small circle of friends, rarely hang out in public, gamer, etc. I never get picked on at school though, probably because it's a Catholic school and I help everyone out around Final Exams. Although recently I've been a lot more social since I got my license. We can hang out without any of us bugging our parents/siblings for rides.
23. Blaster lasts for most likely a set amount of seconds, not combat cycles. Again, the assumption would be 5-15 seconds, based on your magic level (the higher it is, the longer you have).
24. 1. Only Gatherer reduces damage from skill tasks (includes doors), not Tank. Also, you need a shield equipped for Tank to work. 2. Both effects work at once. The length is random, although I would assume longer if you have high magic. It does not stack per se, but theoretically, the second your enemy is "free," you have a chance to bind him again. 3. Artisan only works for an increased chance of multiple runes, it does not boost your levels. At 72 RC, you would simply have a high chance of making double Astrals, although it would not be guaranteed. You won't be able to make any Blood Runes at 72 without a potion.
