Wait, we're going to have access to former members only areas and will be able to train members skills to level 5 all while still on a F2P world? Wow. :shock: I think as long as it's being done on a free world without buying membership then it's all good. This is an update like any other, they've just opened up new areas for us.

[hide=93 Magic and 155 Combat] [/hide] I'm also not too far off of another Smithing level. Should get it either tonight or tomorrow. By now I'm sure you all know that the vote for the 07 servers has ended, and I'm really glad that they've decided to, at least temporarily, not charge extra for it. I may not be a member myself, but as far as I'm concerned anything that brings more people to the game is good and extra fees for 07Scape would have killed it before it even learned to walk. It will be interesting to see how the community there develops over the next few months. If it can survive the initial growing pains, and as long as Jagex doesn't do something stupid like limit access they way they did to RSC, then 07Scape may yet be a success. Only time will tell.

I'm glad someone at Jagex realized that it's the best chance that 07Scape has of surviving. Hopefully they don't start restricting access to it like they did with RSC.

No, the Australian Ministry of Tourism did. That way, when hapless tourists get themselves eaten by giant venomous ducks (or whatever unbelievable creature crawls into hotel rooms to eat souls) their families can't sue. It's less of a travel brochure and more of a legally binding disclaimer.

It would only need a few more scenes at the end as a lead in, maybe a few in-game shots of fighting some of the larger and more menacing monsters, culminating with: "Are you the hero Gielinor has been waiting for?"

This is actually a really good idea. From what I understand, a lot of people have come back just to play 07Scape and have no interest in the main game at all. If they don't reach the level to make it one price for both, this, combined with OrTradeMe's idea of a reduced fee for both, would definitely be the way to go to ensure it's longevity.

That's not surprising considering that free access for everyone is the only benefit left at the 750k teir, and unless they extend the poll they're going to have a hard enough time reaching 500k votes.

Not necessarily. If it was free people could come back, decide they like it and want to experience the larger game and subscribe, just like they do for the regular game. That said, I happen to agree that free access to the 07 servers would be a bad idea. The flood of bots that would bring in would only kill it before it had a proper chance to succeed.
