"I smell a lotta "if" comin' off this plan." :P I think it's a bad idea to implement free access this soon. They need to give 07Scape a chance to establish itself, to build an internal community and economy and then, maybe, open up access for free. Maybe only do it a couple times a year for a couple of weeks to get interest built up and pull in new subscribers. Full free access this early is a bad idea.

Druidic Ritual isn't F2P. Did they announce that it will be? I must have missed that. If anything, the One Piercing Note and Song from the Depths quests should be made F2P. The rewards would benefit us more than they do members, and SotD in particular would entice people to get membership so they could fight the QBD. Troacctid made some pretty good arguments for this last year in his blog.

If we're only allowed to raise the mems skills to level 5, does that mean we will stop gaining xp exactly at the point we hit level 5? If so, it seems to me that would be a good way to tell. It would be pretty hard to gain exactly 388 xp in a level and not go any further.

Honestly, I didn't even realize people still ran in software mode. I haven't been able to use anything but OpenGL and safe mode for nearly two years.

Thank you and prepare to be astounded once again dear lady. ;) As predicted, I gained another smith level today. Well, actually I pounded out the last 36k xp this morning before I went to work since I knew my game time would be limited tonight, but it still counts as today. Observe my greatness puny mortals! :P [hide=94 Smithing] [/hide] If I can keep up my current pace of 2-3k bars a day I'll be able to get 95 in less than a week. :grin:

Actually, these are both really old arguments that I'm sure we're all sick of debating. They stated years ago (during the Gower years) that the free game was not a demo, but their attitude in general towards seems to contradict that, and the whole free-shouldn't-get-anything-because-they-don't-pay thing has been around since membership was first introduced. The fact is, they need update the free portion of the game every so often. Otherwise, new players would be so unimpressed with the game that they never buy membership.

Construction is an interesting thought. Is there any way to train it outside of a PoH? And if not, does this mean we'll be able to buy our own houses?
