  1. Hey Mish, good to see you're still here. :) So I've re-read my entire blog (yes, the whole thing) and you're right, it's really missing something without the pictures. I guess I'll add that to my list of things to do. I did discover why I have so much leather though, apparently I had a crazy idea of getting all my non-combat skills to 90. I did some calculations and that won't be enough leather to get me to 90, but it will get me to 80 or so. Guess I'll have to stop there and do something else for a while. That'll have to wait a bit though. Last night I rejoined TFS and lo and behold today is the beginning of a skilling competition so I'll be woodcutting for the next couple of weeks. \:D/ I've not forgotten about my mega update that was interrupted by my vanishing act. I found the hard drive with all my pictures on it and it even has all the old pictures that are missing from my blog. All organized by skill and event. Apparently I used to be a lot more organized. The mega update may still be a while as I have nearly 100 pictures to sift though, but it will be coming. I'm hoping I get you all up to date sooner rather than later, I'll just have to leave out some of the flowery prose and storytelling I was planning on because frankly I just don't remember exactly everything that happened any more. But after that things will get back to more like the way they were. Promise. ;)
  2. After two years I return to find I still have 0. I guess it's hard to get warnings when you're not posting. :P
  3. Best poll ever. I'm laughing so hard at this right now. Well played.
  4. Your Tip.ItSpace account still works? Dag. I lost the password to mine years ago. It's something everyone's guilty of at some point or other. Also, some of the busiest posters were also some of those who got in the most trouble (I'm looking at you @Arceus, you bad apple ). Not all mind you, but some. They pushed discussions forward and sometimes they would descend into arguments which would sometimes drunkenly stumble into rule-breaking territory. Goodness knows I dealt with enough of them before I left. Mrs Chips said earlier that the staff and mods here were corrupt and working against the community, and except for obfuscator taking bribes ( :P) I know that we weren't and most of you know that we weren't (Kim dealt with that wonderfully already so I really don't want to get into it again, but bear with me here). Unfortunately there were some who we would give warnings/suspensions/bans to who certainly felt like that and, yes, some of them left for what they felt were greener pastures with looser rules. Some just moved to different sections of the forum with looser rules (some are still there!). I still remember a point a several months after I became a mod where thing seemed to quiet down nicely (for us anyway) and the worst things we had to deal with were spambots and the odd infraction. Maybe we were too late though. Maybe the damage had already been done and once we got things quieted down again, too many people who didn't like seeing that kind of stuff on the main discussion board had already left never to return. It's hard for me to speculate having been gone so long, but from what I understand Jagex has stopped fansite support and that certainly wouldn't have helped us any either.
  5. Happy birthday Zok! :D

  6. Having recently returned myself, I'm quite surprised at how quiet it is. Perhaps the traditional forum is simply coming to the end of its natural lifespan. Social media, wikis, even Reddit all seem to be supplanting them. I'm not sure if that's better though. All these sources are quick, easy, accurate...and utterly without heart. How much connection do people get with their fellow players reading someone's Twitter feed? What unexpected stories or laughs are to be had editing a wiki? What (some third clever thing I can't think of right now) Reddit? It's a reflection of society. Efficienados were merely an extension of our rapidly changing world. Everything's stronger, faster, lighter, fewer calories, "tastes great, with just a hint of bacon"...what happened to more, better and fun? Oh god, I sound like an old person longing for his youth. I better stop here before I break into a rambling story about walking to school, uphill, both...AHHHHH!
  7. Thanks for you kind words everyone. It's nice to see folks still remember me. :D Pauls' been AWOL longer than I have. I am sad to hear that Q's left as well though. His knowledge of the game was unparalleled. :( Which chat do you mean? F2P United is still going, and I'd honestly forgotten about that until I logged back in. Wait, what? This I gotta see. To Off-Topic!
  8. Personally, I like Sporks' contribution best. Any way I can vote for them? No? Oh well. :P +1 for Lindsey.
  9. Happy birthday! :D

  10. Medi! Wow, I can't believe you're still here and updating this. Awesome levels man. I've only just returned so forgive my noobish question, but how did you get it to show levels over 99?
  11. It's been too long TIF, but I have returned. After two years things seem much quieter there than when I left, but I see some familiar faces still wandering about. It's good to be back. :)
  12. A think fog rolls in from the edge of the wilderness. From it a grey, dishevelled figure stumbles into the light and onto the smooth white stone of the Grand Exchange. Looking wildly around he grabs the first person he encounters and, shaking, almost pleads: "You there, what day is this? What year? What of donuts? TELL ME!" "GTFO noob." Confused and unsure, the stranger looks around and is suddenly assaulted by the sights and sounds of the busiest trading in hub in Gielinor. A girl in blue armor trimmed in white walks up to him. "Pls gve 1M. Im poor." He pushes her aside, but other voices quickly follow. "Pls give" "What outfit is that?" "Buying!" "Selling!" "Dancing for coins" "Looking for gf?" "This place sucks" Slowly, a wave of calm washes over him. A sense of familiarity. Suddenly memories long forgotten return. All is as it should be. Kaida23 has come home. Greetings once again blog fans. (If any of you are left of course :P) I've been gone a long time and have now stumbled my way back to loving bosom of Tip.It and RuneScape. Recently I've been taken by a wave of nostalgia and logged back in to see how things have been in my absence. It's nice to see very little of either has changed. It all feels warm and familiar. I've spent a bit of time wandering around the game and, at least on the free servers, it seems very much the same. Also, I was pleasantly surprised to see the F2P United friend chat was still going, and that I'm still ranked. My account is still as I left it, will all the strange and wonderful items in my bank right where I left them. Although I have absolutely no idea why I have thousands of hard leather boots, and tens of thousands more hard leather. I guess I was training Crafting. Possibly for a clan competition. I just really don't remember. (seriously, what the heck?) I've been going over my blog a bit and apparently all the images I uploaded using Imageshack way back in the day are no longer there so a very VERY large portion of my blog is now missing pictures. I think I still have them all backed up somewhere, so maybe one day I'll reupload them. Also, none of the links in the first post work anymore so it looks like I'll have to spend some time fixing those. On the forum side of things I'm obviously not a moderator anymore (you disappear for two years and they just kick you out! :P), but I am still a member of the Editorial Panel which was a nice surprise. I realize the Times isn't what it used to be, but I still messaged @Arceus to thank him for keeping me on the roster all this time. Now, I'm sure you're all excited that I'm back but right now I honestly don't know how much I'm going to be playing or how often I'll be posting. I certainly won't be playing as much. Too much life, not enough time. You know, that old chestnut. I do have a bunch pictures from way back when I was still updating this blog that I never got around to posting, and I never did finish with that huge 4-month update that included the Battle of Lumbridge (which was supposed to be the next instalment). I think I'll work on finishing that over the next few days and then go from there. For now though, I think I'll just be wandering about RS and seeing what's what. Well that, and apparently crafting. Just...so much crafting. Until next time true believers. It's good to be back. :)
  13. Ocarina of Time is one of those games held up by nostalgic gamers as one of the best things ever. Is it, though? I really couldn't say for sure. At the time it was pretty damn awesome, so I guess it's one of those "you had to be there" kind of things. Still, a little over 13 years later it still stands up as a good game, and in today's finish-and-forget gaming culture that's pretty impressive.
  14. Thanks for the heads up. I'll have someone look into it. Edit: It's all set now. A big thank you to @tripsis for the quick fix. Go forth, fair readers, and enjoy your weekly serving of the goodness that is the Tip.It Times! :-D
  15. Welcome back. :) If you're looking for folk to chat with, you should check out the unofficial official Tip.It friend chat 'Serpent Eye'. There's lots of great people there who can answer any questions you might have (about ports, for example ;)).
  16. Agreed. This had a good long run and now it's time for it to retire. Please use this thread to continue the PoP discussion.
  17. Did anyone else notice this in the Other News section? Currently fallen stars are members only and I still have bonus xp from the first world event that I can't use. Does this mean that non-members will no longer be able to get xp from the SoF? If so, then there goes my main reason for putting up with the damn thing in the first place. <_<
  18. Kaida23

    70 Defence!

    Congratulations.
  19. Welcome back. :) I've moved this to the Introductions section. If you're interested in reconnecting with your fellow Tip.It'ers in-game, the current unofficial official chat is 'serpent eye'.
  20. I just got Papers, Please and it's great. I can see myself wasting many an hour on this laboring tirelessly for the good of the party over the next few days. Glory to Arstotzka! If you had 2 on the PC... That's awesome! Thanks, Alg. I've found and followed a couple of restoration projects over the years, but they were all ultimately abandoned due to a lack of time/help/resources on the part of the modder/mod team. It's good to see that time has not diminished people's love for the game. Fun fact: the unfinished content from KOTOR2 was left in the game files not in the hope that someone would eventually fix it and restore the game to their original vision, but rather because removing it completely broke other sections of the game that were working.
  21. Happy birthday, buddy. :D
