  1. I understand that you feel there's a lack of "plateaus" in the fishing levels, but adding the fish you propose would greatly devalue sharks. These changes have to be implemented extremely carefully. Something new at 70, fine, but not 60. That's really not a hard level to achieve. lpinkus
  2. I'd like to submit this: A lot of people who say they're overpowered by mages/rangers/warriors are not being reasonable about level. They might think they should have an advantage regardless of level. In other words, mages can overpower warriros, yes, but a level 5 mage isn't going to own a 25 warrior. Make sense? lpinkus
  3. 'Nuff said. "Drop X" posts come around every couple of weeks, and the answer is always the same; it would make things too easy. lpinkus
  4. Sure :) This will seem totally neurotic, but sometimes I want to drop x gp so I'm carrying an even/round number. I don't really need this option, tho :) lpinkus
  5. Do you honestly think that after 30+ minutes of listening to boring tutorials, they'd like to waste an extra minute more on something thats optional? Honestly, I do feel many of them would. Nooby people seem to be fairly curious. And, even if they don't talk to the guy right away, I'm sure they would in the first week. I roamed Lumby for a few days before I even realized there were other towns :) lpinkus
  6. Well, I'm a member in the top 1000 thieves, and I don't like it :) I realize that when you steal from a NPC, there's an unlimited amount of loot to be had, but that doesn't make sense with actual players. It should be the same as killing that NPC or an actual player. Thieving from banks is always something I've greedily wanted to do, but that sounds like something that could be very bad for the RS economy. And fixed prices? You're gonna upset a lof of merchants with that one :) "Strange" prices are what merchanting is about. I don't support preying on a player's inexperienced, but if a player desperately needs a law rune and is willing to pay 10k, then the seller is in luck. Sorry, no on all three, but please keep posting :) lpinkus
  7. I see. Well then, I'm all for it, even though I have no need for it :) lpinkus
  8. When i was teleing to camolot i noticed a male player dressed in those blue mini cloths with gflowers and ask me if i wanted a good time  ] Then he started joy jumping up and down behind me  That's not a fad, that's just immaturity. I'd report someone for that. lpinkus
  9. ^^ Perfectly worded :D Lol, why thank you :) Again, I didn't mean to use a RL example. But a donation machine!? Come now. If everyone agreed on one way of reacting to begging, it would diminish. Personally, I say "Go kill things." If it *does* go farther than that, like the player says "I can't kill thngs, I week," I say "I used to be level X, too." I've never had anyone continue to pester me after that. I thought the info guy in Lumbridge was a good fix to this, but perhaps it's not working. If you talk to him he mentions that begging will make one unpopular. lpinkus
  10. Banded :) Wait a minute. It was my understanding that these censors would not be related to reporting. For example, say I hate jello. I add the word "jello" to my personal list, then when anyone tries to say it, it appears as *****. However, that player is not reported in any way. Now that I've thought about it, however, I don't care for the idea anymore. If people feel the need to add words to the censor (truly offensive things, not words like "jello"), than JAGeX should block them out for everyone. lpinkus
  11. Well, yes, the crayfish was just an example from the top of my head. The fact that you don't need to use the fishing guild illustrates my point perfectly. I suppose that's partially true, but I can't agree because I can't use the fishing guild due to my level. I might use it and not Catherby when I'm able to. lpinkus
  12. Yup, been suggested in similar ways. I've read on these forums about alphabetical banking, categorized baking, even a bank search option many times. All good ideas. I'm sure JAGeX has thought about it. lpinkus
  13. The PIN, right. That answers my question, thanks. However, edestruction: is it really that much harder to walk inside the bank? I mean no offense, it's just that so many people are always asking for more banks, telebank spells, etc. lpinkus
  14. Wow, very eloquent, "dawning on becoming purple." :) I skipped mithril, actually, but it is a nice color. lpinkus
  15. I've played RS for several years, I play RS just about everyday, I post here just about everyday, so please forgive me fof this possibly-lame request: Could someone explain to me why the *relatively* new bank deposit boxes are of any use? I have no clue why they might be any sort of help. lpinkus
  16. Imagine all the gp it would deflate! :) lpinkus
  17. I'm not sure how it would affect the PKing world, economy, etc., but I do feel a new fish is appropriate. Crayfish isn't a good choice, though, as it would seemingly be easier to catch than a lobster. I liked the squid and jellyfish suggestion. As far as the guild being useless goes, I haven't used it so I wouldn't know. Catherby has always met all my fishing needs, not to mention fletching. lpinkus
  18. This sure is a quirky topic :) Fads? I thought fads were usually about pants length, hairsyltes, and social tendencies. Now, it's how the word "please" is spelled in a computer game? I may be the only one, but I'll go ahead and change my hair. lpinkus
  19. I never played RSC, but I have no problem seeing this change happen. However, I've never really had a problem distinguishing mith from rune. Not a priority on the JAGeX to-do list :) lpinkus
  20. Wow, this is really interesting. I don't think this should have anything to do with reporting, really. Just the fact that I wouldn't see the word "noob" would make me happy. lpinkus
  21. Back to the topic :) I usually avoid RL comparisons, but... If a kid whines and whines that he wants to candy for dinner, what happens if you give him/her candy? Answer: they will expect cnady for dinner all the time. So, why would we make this well-thingy so that nooby players would really get FREE STOOF!? The begging would actually get worse! It's bad parenting as far as I'm concerned. Don't worry, they'll understand when they're older :) lpinkus
  22. Sounds like someone's cannon isn't getting them xp as fast as they'd hoped :) The current cannon seems awfully powerful to me. However, I'm could see JAGeX doing this, provided rangers *actually* needed an update, either from not having one in a while or to keep the triangle balanced. lpinkus
  23. More skill? Hardly. I'm not saying it's easy to do, but it's clearly *not* a RS skill. And if you're talking about merchanting rares, JAGeX is actually against that (check the FAQ). Yes, they're tradeable, but that's because so many would whine and quit it they made them untradeable. lpinkus Yes...notice how this guy is mad because he thinks it is hard to make money using rs skills. Now notice that I am mrely offering an alternative to using rs skills to make money. And merchanting is much more than buying a rare and sitting on it for years. I didn't agree with the guy who started the topic, by the way. Of cour se there are plenty of ways to make money. I didn't really have to type that, did I? Yes, merchanting is a legit alternative, but I doubt he (or the average player) has the funds to get it started at the moment. I also assume he wants to make his money while fighting, mining, crafting, etc. I'll just say one more thing to get under the merchants' skin: No one has 99 merchanting. Ha :) lpinkus
  24. Splitting hairs :) But, we've been here before, so I agree to disagree. Hope all's been well. lpinkus
  25. No offence taken some people are affraid of something new  Lol, I'm not afraid of new things :) As I said, there are plenty of modes of transport in RS, but I also found the idea a little odd: coaxing animals with food to bring you places. Yes, I know you can travel by Spirit Tree in RS, but I don't think animal travel is on the way. By the way, the idea seems strangely similar to (gulp) people riding horses. I shudder even to bring that up. Forgive me :) lpinkus
