  1. Um, was that "Best Idea Ever" comment saracstic? :) It was annoying enough to find a partner for the few quests that require it. This suggestion says that my reward for a quest depends on outplaying others. That's already a part of dueling, pking, etc., and some players don't enjoy those things. So, thanks for the skin and bones idea. But no :) lpinkus
  2. Yeah, a lobster would take up more space in real life than RS's imaginary herbs, but they don't take up 1 space each because they're big; they take up space because they're useful. lpinkus
  3. If this is an idea meant to "fix" the triangle, I think JAGeX is handling it pretty good thus far. I hate to keep making "It's fine the way it is" posts, but hey, there ya go :) lpinkus
  4. It's getting complicated now, which is why I don't see this happening. lpinkus
  5. Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Ok, sure. Harmless :) lpinkus
  6. I've seen many of Out's posts, and I have to back him up and say he doesn't "whine." So, let's stop the "whining" and start the reasoning. Unless half the f2p population of RS decided to suddenly quit, citing a lack of updates as their motive, why should there be any f2p updates? JAGeX would like many more f2p players to become members. There are many of them who will subcribe for p2p someday, many who won't. JAGeX is more concerned, logically, with the ones who will. lpinkus
  7. I suppose this is an attempt to "balance" things, if you're assuming mages are overpowering. If that is the case, then I could see why someone would want this. However, it sounds like a magic skill, and it would really have to be disguised so that it doesn't resemble magic. Outsanity said something to that effect. Personally, I don't find mages (with comparable combat levels) overpowering, but I'd be interested to hear what others think. lpinkus
  8. i agree, complaining about tht is kinda moaning abit don't ya think, it's strange that people care that much! Spose it's all to do with ur "state of mind" lol :| I'm not sure what you're getting at. My "state of mind" is fine, as far as I'm concerned. I use swear words in my real life, sure, but not at work, when talking to strangers, etc. Profanity simply doesn't belong in Runescape, guys, the same way it doesn't belong on standard TV. It doesn't matter that there are older players or younger players who use profanity in real life. In Runescape, they shouldn't. And, since you know that many will insist on being rude anyway...Lo, there is a chat filter. And yes, it helps stop scamming and site advertising, too, so there you go. It stays. lpinkus
  9. Take the following statement as true: f2p players want more bank space. That means they've played a while and have the option of becoming a member. If they don't or can't, then they have to deal with less space or hope they get more. Now, also take this statement as true: JAGeX's profit does not depend on the number of f2p players. It' depends, instead, on the number of f2p players who will become members and the p2p players who decide to continue their membership each month. I'm afraid I see no reason why f2p players will be getting more bank space anytime soon. I'm not trying to be snobby, I'm just telling it like I see it. lpinkus

As an older player, let me just say, I feel your pain :) Seriously, older players, younger players (newbs) and older/younger players who are goofy (noobs) need to play together. Don't give up, people, we can coexist :) lpinkus
  11. Reading is a better *waste of time* :) Well, I don't think it's a waste to read Mark Twain, but I understand :) I didn't mean the <15 yr. olds could be fixing cars professionaly, I was just suggesting hobbies. And, about a download on the RS homepage, I'm pretty sure there's a whole area devoted to stories called the Library of Varrock. Filled with plot stuff, secrets to how cities and peoples of RS came to be, etc. Does that apply? lpinkus
  12. Yep. It's understood that many players are exclusively f2p with no interest in becoming members, but many of them are interested, or else they're thinking up a plan to get the five (or so) bucks :) JAGeX is now used to that profit, and it will probably continue to grow. If Outsanity and I keep agreeing like this, we should probably go PKing together. Oops, we don't PK. Castle Wars? :) lpinkus
  13. This should be a Sticky called "Read this before posting about the triangle balance." Well said. lpinkus
  14. I understand this frustration, but the "inconvenience" you described is important to the economy. People should lose or gain 10k now and then. I feel it keeps things interesting. Prices are already pretty stable. If they were set in stone for extended periods of time, I think it would be a bit boring. lpinkus
  15. You asked "why not" release older skills/add bank space, etc. for free players. I ask "why." Why should JAGeX do this if they are already making a profit? There is neither a lack of free players nor playing players. So, until that changes, I see no reason why JAGeX should give f2p anything new. It's just good business, really. Hope you didn't feel flamed :) lpinkus
  16. Imagination!? I can't imagine what that might be :) Seriously, reading is an excellent supplement to playing Runescape. Or playing an instrument, fixing cars, etc. Anwyays, I thought everyone knew the real plot in RS. It's about the King of...oops, gotta go, the roast is burning. lpinkus
  17. I've always wanted to interact with furniture. Ever notice the bench examine? It says, "Sit back and relax." I CAN'T!!! :) lpinkus
  18. This idea has potential, and, like Bubs, I feel they're looking into it. However, the deal about the text appearing above your head won't cut it. The screen would be flooded to the point of not being able to see. So, if there was a little "shop" as you say, you could list what you're selling. Then, buyers could click and open up a window that lists the sellers and what's being sold. Pretty nifty, eh? lpinkus
  19. I disagree with the fact that all non-runescapers shouldn't be on these forums. Sure, i might not play runescape anymore, and not planning to return to it anytime soon after I die, but for me, well, let's just say I like discussions and posting ideas on improving this game. But ya, that answers your question. Thanks for replying. I've changed my tune on this before you answered. Good to (still) have you here. In the forums, at least :) lpinkus
  20. nice to see somebodys used all their posts in my topic  Lol. That's what you call a fast start :) lpinkus
  21. Crim already followed this up with a good answer. He even admitted he can be crude in other parts of his life, but he *doesn't do it in Runescape.* Commendable. What more do we have to say? Why do you *have* to make up a ridiculous, nasty name is RS? Does it give you nourishment? No, you get a quick little kick out of it, and it sends the message "look, I made a nasty name and beat the filter, so I'm great, haha" Well, you're not, you're immature. And, if you didn't notice, this forum blocks out profanity, too. Gee, I wonder why? lpinkus do you read upside down? dont dis her/him by saying that crim already responded, no crim answered after words  and no ppl dont have to make them, but maybe they want to, and if they are smarter than jagex, by all means, let them have their immature sns Read upside down? I'm not sure what you're accusing me of. I was just saying that Crim had already made a good reply to Ryanie. And, what do you mean by "crim answered after words?" I'm not sure what you're talking about. lpinkus
  22. Ummmmm.... If it's a regular axe (hatchet, for woodcutting), just "use" the pickaxe head with the axe handle. You will carefully put the axe back together. If it's a pickaxe (for mining ore), you have to bring it to Nurmoff in the dwarf mines. He'll repair it at a price. This has been around for a week...why the hey hasn't it been moved or locked? :) lpinkus
  23. because they are doing something creative to do with runescape, rather than mindless clicking... yeah ok. I don't care about your post count...OWNED :) Lighten up :) lpinkus

  25. Crim and others, get back on topic. We can get plenty of that sort of talk if we look for it, but these forums are about an ONLINE GAME. On topic: I wish JAGeX would re-poll the age groups. They did it a while back and there are *a lot* of players 16 and under, I think most. In that case, I think some of us should be careful that we're not generalizing near half of the playing community. And I still don't see why a player's age matters so much. If you're selling an item and the player offers the price you want, what's the problem? So what if he spells "thank you" "thnz ys?" And, if he says worse than that, report/ignore. Done! lpinkus
