  1. I love the fad. Have you got any idea how much money I've made off of all of these horrible players? By the way, his name is Chris Ferguson. To whoever asked. Oh yeah, and Chris Moneymaker sucks. Really bad. He got lucky.
  2. Isn't that like $7000 US?
  3. I guess since I've started working on more and more production level projects, my ideas of art have changed. I've been exposed to so much more than doing art for pure pleasure, and sadly it takes away from my passion on art itself. Although I do love what I do, I find myself doing more commercial than personal art, which I guess is to be expected. However, I do things all day much like this; they have no aesthetic purpose or beauty, they are simply thrown into a background to add motion and catch a viewers eye... In this business the client makes the decisions and there isn't much room for art. Which again, is sad.
  4. I think it's just a basic question of respect. Why do we do what we do? Two reason; A) We enjoy art, B) We want people to remember our names. There is nothing really wrong with tracing in my opinion, but you get all the more respect if you draw it yourself. Obviously though, with something so trivial as a signature, it won't matter either way. Tracing shows no creativity, just a technical "skill" that we all learned in 1st grade, follow the line.
  5. Yeah, it was just something I didn't bother with. If we were really doing something like that we would use timelapse photography or something similar. I was just trying to throw in that much more motion to better learn the program. At first I was going to try and rotospline the trees and horizon but then I figured out an easier way to just composite a moving image of the clouds and mix it with a single still matte of the background... There is alot of photoshop work in this as well, it works great with After Effects. Thanks for looking. :)
  6. Peoples standards have increased, especially when people know how its done and how relatively easy it is to do somehting like that. Which is unfortunate. (in most cases)

I like the 2nd and 4th one, as well as the flowers one... I love the dof on the 2nd one especially. What I don't like about the first one is that it loses me a bit, and I'm not too crazy about the tint. I think the composition is good as Merc mentioned, but I'm not really drawn to it as much. The one with the car does not compare with the others. Nice work, what kinda camera is it?
  8. I believe Ascent is the correct spelling? Anyway, I think it looks great. Not too keen on the fog though.
  9. Today I started learning Adobe After Effects... something long overdue. We've just been busy at the studio and I haven't had time to sit down and sort it all out. Anyway, here is something I did in about 3hours in After Effects 5. http://www.strictlyea.com/movies/logitech.mov Now, I didn't compress this, so it's way too big and probably isn't worth watching. But I was proud of myself and hoped someone else would be too. Also worth mentioning is that my skills in compressing a quicktime are non-existent. If anyones interested I can post in depth details as to what all went into this. If you are a Flash and Photoshop user, and have always hated how Flash makes pretty images ugly, you would love After Effects. I was going to write a long post about the program and how I created this, but I won't until someone shows some interest.
  10. I just ALT+Tab'd the windows and I have come to the same conclusion.... And for tracing, that's a pretty crappy job.
  11. You know what's funny Hot? If I would have posted that 3 years ago (and I probably did) I would have gotten so much praise for it.

I'm a member there, and have been for a while. Although I agree that using other peoples images is pretty lame, I've found it's a majority of what I do now-a-days as a professional. Hardly ever do I create everything 100%, I'm usually given other artwork to work from. If anything, the people on that forum have very good compositing skills. And they are nice people too.
  13. I've been doing VFX and various production things for about a year now.... I love it. \/
  14. You just pile colors. And more colors. Practice makes perfect, don't expect your first to be great.... Just keep piling colors and adding more detail... that's all there is to it...
  15. oh meh gawd you are teh using an image that is teh isnt yurz! you ripp0rz!
  16. o.O I'm in Maui right now, that's why I've been a bit more inactive than usual. Here is what my friend standing behind me just said "From far away it looks kinda real but when you get up close it looks too fake... like an unreal setting..." I don't like how dark the foreground is, personally.
  17. Well I wasn't going to flame him or anything... a slap with a fish would have been fine. :o
  18. I was talking to Mr. Gates the other day and the old games WILL be compatible with the new 360.
  19. I hope you took pictures :o You saw the milky way? wow pretty impressive seeing that we are IN the milky way By the way, did you read that link?
  20. I hope you took pictures :o You saw the milky way? wow pretty impressive seeing that we are IN the milky way That's what I said when those idiots told me, if you're lucky tonight you'll be able to see the milky way. Since we are inside of it, we can see the spacedust and smaller stars that make it up. If you go to a very dark place at night and look hard enough, you can see the green haze of stars in the sky. That's the milkyway. It's never in the same spot and it rotates around at night since our planet is spinning. I did not take pictures of the planets I saw because they were basically just really bright stars. The sun was setting and you could see them both very well right above it. It was pretty interesting, but it looked alot like the picture on page one.. nothing really photo worthy.

This is precisely the reason you don't valet your car. I would never let some kid, or even an adult drive my car through a garage, because I've seen how those [wagon] drive them. I went to Houston one time with 2 girls, and we were staying at the Marriot. We were looking for parking and we accidently went into a valet only garage. I parked there anyway, but I saw how they treat the cars, and that's definitely not the way I want someone driving my car. What bothers me even more is that they have kids doing it. Seriously though, if you can't back out of a parking spot without hitting something, you should find another job. My car has way too much money invested for me to be crashing it, to me looking behind you when you reverse is like wiping your [wagon] after you take a [cabbage]. If you don't do it you don't belong on the road and are just being irresponsable. Why are you trying to make it seem "cool" to steal other peoples cars and take them on "joy rides"?
  22. I saw Venus and Mercury last night.... climbed up on a mountain and saw some satellites, shooting stars, other planets, and the milky way too. It was pretty cool. My legs hurt like hell though.
  23. How does one go about modding their xbox? I don't play Xbox or have one, so I have no clue...?
  24. Wow.. You're kidding right Nadril? Those colors are horrible. And the mountains are very low poly, they look horrible. It looks like something I made in bryce4.0 about 5 years ago.
  25. Is that human skin texture on the sides?
