  1. Team Leviathan Korialga fails to locate anything. Grim miscasts making fire from his staff and blows himself into the upper part of a tree.
  2. Team Trinity Jen freezes the demon's head. For some reason, it's still alive and moving. +0.2 ice. Elisa strides out of the fog, her eyes glowing with anger. She prepares a spell... and miscasts again, launching her two stories into the air where she then launches a quick light spell that decapitates the demon, landing nimbly on her feet afterward. +0.3 light. Isabel sits up and watches in amazement as a frozen demon head flies toward her, hitting her in the chest and knocking her back out. Probably broke a few ribs, too. Jen manages to ride out the demon's body falling, and nimbly leaps down from it before it combusts, leaving only a floating green rock the size of a man's fist in its wake. The problem you face if you choose to attempt to get the pebble is that, well, it's as high up as the demon's torso had been.
  3. Team Trinity Jen clubs the demon in the back of its head, doing minor damage and getting her polemace stuck. The demon then stands up, with Jen hanging tightly onto the polemace. Result: Jen is now hanging from a two-story blind demon's head by a stuck polemace. +0.1 polemace. Neither Elisa nor Isabel get up out of the fog. Edit: Team Stryrkur Talchin accidentally cuts off his air intake when making the mask, causing him to become very light-headed. The other two accidentally cut their arms open. None of the thieves run away.
  4. Team Trinity Jen launches some ice shards at the demon, who is hit in the eyes. Demon is now blind. +0.1 ice. Elisa miscasts and accidentally launches herself into the fog of the swamp, away from the group. A thud is heard a few yards away, presumably Elisa hitting a tree. Isabel does the same, although she doesn't fly nearly as far, and doesn't hit a tree. Flossom tries to bite the demon, but misses. The demon swings at what he thinks is Jen, but misses and falls on his face.
  5. Team Stryrkur You head north, and are ambushed by thieves, who wound all three of you mildly. What do you do? Team Leviathan You leave town, in which direction do you head? Team Trinity Jen would have to be a craftsman to make any suitable type of weapon for use by another. The one you let join your party as Grim suddenly burst into a flurry of flames, which grow higher, and higher... and eventually takes the form of a two-story-tall fanged demon, who tries to swat Elisa into the darkness, but misses. (I'll be darned if I let the three of you and your NPCs all come together at once and create a small army....)
  6. Great, another team sheet to draw up. Gimme a bit...
  7. Eh, off by 1/12. Probably because I calculated the infinite limits wrong or some crap like that.
  8. Grim, if you're making an assisting party, max no. of characters including yourself is 3 at start. Essentially, beginning teams start with a max of 3 people that can go up as they do stuff. Nex - Okay, let me make another party sheet.... *grumble mumble* You leave town, in which direction do you head?
  9. Team Unnamed Earth begins chopping down the oak tree with his pickaxe. 2 turns till it falls.
  10. Nex - Pick yer class. And if Allomancer can be something besides a mage, pick classes for the other NPCs as well.
  11. Iey: X equals negative b plus or minus the square root of b squared minus 4 a c, all over two a. Now sing it to the tune of "Pop Goes the Weasel," and you can drive everyone you know insane with it.
  12. 150? What is your tongue, sandpaper? And Techy, I believe it is: (1/(2*2^n))+(1/(2*3^n))+(1/(2*3^n))+(1/(3*3^n)) where n is any defined integer. If you want it written in sigma notation, it'd take me a bit. Because I'd have to do it in MS Paint. Edit: Looked at it further with a bit of stuff I learned in pre-calc, and... sigma infinite(1/(2*2^n))=1 sigma infinite(1/(2*3^n))=1/4 sigma infinite(1/(3*2^n))=1/3 sigma infinite(1/(3*3^n))=1/2 So that's... 25/12.
  13. To answer your earlier question: Opposite of sound mage is silence mage. And silence mages have a tendency to be either useless or deadly, depending on conditions. So are Grim and Nex forming an accompanying party with Tech, or is Nex just looking to join Tech's ranks? Oh, and just for the record, the leader only makes "leadership" decisions, like which direction people go, or how they'll approach a certain problem. They don't decide what everyone does every second that they're alive. (For NPCs, whoever warranted the creation of the NPC gets to make most of its decisions.) Now, onto the actual gameplay... Team Unnamed Mather strains his back while moving the rubble, and sits down. Soon, he falls asleep. Earth hits his thumb while trying to make medical equipment. Team Trinity Isabel's enchant goes awry, and her staff is sucked into the void. Grim enchants his staff into a flaming halberd. It's on fire, and never seems to burn out. Jen miscasts and makes some spikes that point inwards as opposed to outwards.
  14. First, the number itself is not infinite - after all, it never goes above 3.4. it just has an infinite limit. Second, 10/3 is a rational value, not a numeric or integer value. Rational values aren't always definable when written as anything other than ratios. Otherwise, I'd be asking you to define 10/0, and either you'd end up babbling like a moron or making the universe implode.
  15. Three point three repeating. And here I thought you were going into something interesting.
  16. Welcome to Calculus. Where an infinite and an undefined value can be combined and result in a defined value. Also, to which finite values do you refer? If it's limestone and Planepacked, I don't know the answer.
  17. Team Unnamed Mather manages to scavenge a few odds and ends from the trap's remains, then starts digging Dungeonal out. Remarkably, he hears coughing from under the pile. It seems Dungeonal lives! +0.1 scavenging, +busted trap parts (Yeah, sorry about going overboard with the K.Os. Only human here, and I realized that the person I was going to have you fight was not exactly at your level. So I had to get rid of him somehow, and having him fly out of the cave and ping between all your heads was just too amusing of a prospect to resist.) Team Trinity So Grim is no longer an NPC? Okay then. And the main point of this game is to make it playable with only one player on, since that player controls the whole group, it moves the plotline further along much more nicely.
  18. I thought playing hotpotato with a thread was when the forum mods move a random thread about in the forums, and whoever last moved the thread when n_odie next posts loses. Continue until one person is deemed winner. Owait, I don't think the mods would like you knowing about that. OOPS.
  19. Team Trinity You welcome Grim aboard. He will be an NPC in your group when I can be bothered to post the team statsheets. You all then proceed to get horribly lost in the swamp. You hear a low growling ahead...
  20. Team Trinity The alligator is balanced. Raised with darkness, then imbued with light. Isabel need not use her enchant on that. The group begins to realize that Jen's spike wall, while protecting them from the critters in the swamp, has also basically trapped them. Suddenly, a fireball flies out of the mist, melting some of the ice wall! The fog parts, and a figure strides forth.... "My name is..... well, I think it was Grim or something like that." Grim then proceeds to tell about how he woke up one day in the swamp with a fire staff, not knowing who, what, or where he was, and how he survived on toasted alligator and swamp rats. He then asks to join you.... Do you accept? Edit: I just realized I missed one of Earth's actions a few posts ago. So I'll take care of it now. Team Unnamed Earth manages to create a portable copper mini-forge. It still needs to be fueled, though. -1lb. of copper ore, + copper miniforge
  21. Ah, never was much of a fish man myself. Always preferred land meat. Like steak. Yum.
  22. Whooo! Another admin party in the Tavern! Metaphorical police to break up a metaphorical bar fight. Aaaaaaanyways...... Anyone had a good bit o' food lately?
  23. Team Trinity Jen manages to freeze Elisa's wounds shut, and she regains consciousness. +0.2 ice. (Took you long enough to figure out that dark mage healing light mage wouldn't exactly work. Opposite elements and all that.) Elisa then chooses to rebel a bit and use her enchant on the alligator. It begins glowing a bit, and its eye sockets glow grey. Soon, its skin, bones and flesh grow back in a grey, semitransparent form. It has become Flossom, the Alligator of Balance! +0.5 light. The three of them together gut the remaining alligators, and get 2 pieces of uncooked gator meat and some gator intestines. +0.1 skinning all around. Jen manages to create an ice pole sticking 20 feet out of the floor instead of an ice javelin. Whoops.
  24. Yep. I AM STORK. BRINGER OF CHILDRE- wait. that sounds wrong. if only slightly.
  25. Team Trinity Jen finishes the spikecircle, making difficult to get anything in or out. Isabel fails to heal Elisa again. 4 turns till death. Jen miserably fails at skinning the raccoons, and cuts her thumb in the process. However, she has more lucks with one of the alligators, and manages to extract the pelt whole. The other alligator was far too mangled to have a worthy skin. Isabel reanimates the two skeletons. One of them remains hostile and lunges at Elisa, but promptly has its neck snapped by the other alligator, who then circles Elisa like an overprotective watchdog. +0.1 dark to Isabel. (I figured you may want to gut the other alligators first...)
