Of course it doesn't represent the actual difficulty of a skill. It represents how many players are willing to spend their money on a skill that is essentially pointless to level all the way to 99. It actually might actually represent a combination of that and how many people are willing to grind a skill. Construction is much more annoying to train than crafting/smithing. Firemaking and thieving are both as useless as fletching and cooking but they both involve massive amounts of clicking to achieve(if you want to call it an achievement) 99. There are exceptions like runecrafting that are just at the bottom because of speed. Runecrafting is much more useful than all of those and it's still far ahead in terms of rareness. Effigys did give some use to skills like that. Although I wouldn't say construction is one of them though because thieving is basically free with almost the same amount of effort unless you want to spend more and make mahogany tables. Smithing is easier than mining and crafting is easier than agility(just talking about speed). I could see crafting and smithing becoming less rare in time because of that reason. Very slowly though because even then 97 is where they stop being useful but some people can't resist not getting 99 if they got it all the way to 97 anyway.

Or finally come up with a way to trim the quest cape. Introduce some sort of quest type after grandmaster. Quests that involve lots of time, effort and high skills. Quests that are difficult even for maxed combat players. Quests that require you to have multiple 85+ even 90+ skills. These quests would trim the cape and the regular (all quests up to and including grandmaster quests) quests would simply give the current quest cape. That way Jagex can release high level skills without having to worry about low level players losing their capes. I like your idea better but it seems even less likely to happen than a trimmed quest cape. Can't imagine how many players who only completed all quests just for the cape would rage if Jagex took them away permanently. Gotta remember Jagex caves in to the ragers every time. @Soupy17 I was able to beat Nomad the day he was released with 90 att/str/def, no extremes, no soul split/turmoil and no clue about the kyatt nonsense. I did it wearing full void using a z spear, super set, and an inventory/tortoise full of rocktails.... Took like 7 tries though. Can't imagine what people can do to him with all of that.... Would be cool if the dragon crossbow is going to be released but it would have to really be something special to beat a chaotic crossbow. Would be even more interesting if the things they are talking about are untradeable(similar to korasi, still powerful but it can't be bought so you must complete the quest to use it).

I'm sure this isn't the only drop never to be screen shot, I don't know about you but I've never seen a picture of half of those drops, but that doesn't make it not exist. Jagex isnt gonna cater each boss to insanely maxed players... They don't but maybe for a quest this big they should. But as the dev blog rightly pointed out: The mahjaratt series as a whole has always largely appealed to questers who like story and lore and not been insanely big combat quests. Why should that change just because its a finale? It'd be like making a quest triology based totally around farming where you fight nothing; but then oh its finale better throw in a lvl 782 boss cause you know it's not a finale without an extreme boss monster just because. I didn't mention the quest I was just saying maybe they should make a quest with an insanely hard boss. But I guess I'll mention the quest now. He said this quest is anticipated by that type of quester, not the whole series. Who said there can't be a storyline with a boss? He did say he wants it to be challenging with combat but not as hard as the nomad. Therefore there will be a rather hard boss and lots of combat. The storyline has always involved some combat.

I was hoping a quest this big would have a good storyline and be one of the hardest in terms of combat if not the hardest. But I guess I can settle for one...

I met someone who bought his account back after being banned. They rolled back half of his xp in each skill first though. He had a Mage, cooking, fletching and strength cape banked without having 99 lol. He told me to check before he got 99 cooking and he had 92 in each of those but cooking with no other 99s. After he got 99 he banked and pulled out a trimmed cape... So ya they did actually roll back half of his xp. I guess that's what they're doing to the few bots they do ban now just for the extra cash. Wouldn't know much about the appeal system never been muted/banned before. It did take 4 attempts to recover my account. The 4th time I just said "I can have this?" in the optional details... With the same other info I entered the first few times because they were all actually right.

Well Krampell did say he got it as a drop along with someone else mentioning hearing from two other people getting it. And you're assuming everyone on tif read this thread. And you're assuming everyone who's ever gotten a valuable drop either bothers to go on a forum and tell people or takes a picture of it. Ok so can someone who actually knows what I'm talking about give me some help.

I've been using mousekeys to clean herbs for a couple hours. But my problem with them is they look so much like botting.... Has anyone heard of someone being banned for using mousekeys? I thought jagex said something about them being legal a while back but how could they tell mousekeys and botting apart.

If they keep the rants forums it keeps the trolls out of the real topics... Pretty sure that's why they brought it back last time.

Ya it doesn't make much sense to save a kind of slow skill for insurance of the 11th 200m when it's 48m away.

There are so many things they could do instead of quests like deadliest catch and other random small updates. What ever happened to the elf lands place (can't remember how to spell it) and kudos island? They could revamp skills like smithing, firemaking, etc. They could make bosses that already exist worth killing again (chaos elemental/kalphite queen). I would love to see a boss that can only be killed by one player that requires multiple types of attacks and strategies each time you fight it so you can't just find the way to kill it to make fighting the boss a joke two days later. And maybe a grandmaster quest that's actually a challenge to high level players. I like the idea of the troll game that lets skillers and combat people do the same thing, would be nice to see that concept in a grandmaster quest.

I really don't think it's an agility course. I think it's just part of a new quest that happens to have obstacles. I think someone just mentioned it might be an agility course and that rumor just spread like wildfire until people were convinced it's an agility course.

I thought jagex was against real world trading.

Maybe he's a normal person and went on vacation?
