I find it funny that the music industry thinks they will be taken seriously after attempting to sue limewire for $75 trillion.

People who hate free trade/wild are just looking for small things to pick at now....

18-Mar-2011 - Guaranteed Content Poll: Veteran Cape Design
Robert_R replied to Carl's topic in General Discussion
Or we could do the old tutorial island for the cape  -
At some point long names become just obnoxious. *points to the post above this one^* Anyway I really don't care what the limit is, I only changed my name once to remove the 1 and I'm not changing it again.

I've also gotten more effigies lately, although it's far too early to make any kind of developed, educated opinion. People need to give things like this more time before the flood of rants come in. Edit: Got beat to it ^

If you don't count things in dungeoneering as content for skills: The actual content for farming stops at 85. Firemaking is just useless in general. Woodcutting has no use past 82 (if you don't count the cursed magic tree, 75) unless you just want to chop a tree faster. Agility becomes pointless after 90. Smithing has no real use anymore. Not too sure what to say about cooking. Fletching, why do we need it? The only reason to train mining past 85 would be to increase speed of mining rune. Thieving, has it ever had a purpose? Until they make at least a few of those skills even worth training to 99, why raise the cap to 120? Hell I'd even settle for 90+ content if it had an actual use.

15-Mar-2011 - Ring of Wealth, Shanties, Trolls and Dungeoneering
Robert_R replied to Michael's topic in General Discussion
I must have missed something but did someone say herb farming is going to suck now? If so that really sucks, I make the majority of my money herb farming........... So what I'm getting out of reading other posts is I now have to do combat or merch, neither of which I want to do right now, to make decent money. Yay for jagex and making another potentially good update just terrible. The one thing I do like is buying 600 ring of wealth for 30k and selling them for 63k. -
How about we just say the easiest thing.... Copy and pasted from the time zone conversion thread on runescape forums.

You may want to add that a charged glory amulet can teleport you up to level 30 wild. So you can teleport from the revenant room without running far south.

(I'm not actually killing them just taking a pic so no flaming for void) It works.

You got 2 famous players in that pic. Call Frank and Telmomarques. He's so pro at sniping he didn't catch the second one. On a related note: Sniped. -
If I were to collect squirk juice could I turn them in for bonus experience on the bonus weekend?

Waterfiends anyone?

Me and a few people in my clan have been trying to figure out if luring is reportable. So is it? Example of what I'm talking about: More common type of scamming is doing this in dangerous clan wars. Player A: "Follow me for 1m, assist with something, etc." Player B: "Ok" Player A: Goes into wild or dangerous clan wars Player B: Stupid enough to follow him Player A: Kills player B Reportable as scamming? Another example: Yes people actually try this. Player A: "Can you use your lava titan to teleport me to wild?" Player B: Falls for the trick "ok" Player A: Teleports after him and kills player B Reportable as scamming?

Only regular hammers. Actually the varrock armour might possibly work on the armour making section. Haven't tried that enough to know if it does or not. For ceremonial swords no it does not help. To make ceremonial you use one ingot on the anvil and do the puzzle (all I can think of to call it) thing to make the sword. So I don't think the varrock armour would do anything.

POLL: How many days have you spent online RuneScape?
Robert_R replied to Cowman_133's topic in General Discussion
Just hit 201 days. That's over a 6 or 7 period so I'm not at all bothered by it. -
Alright wasn't it established a few pages back that adamant ceremonial swords are slower and cost more than addy plates? If so what about up to level 88. Would mithril ceremonial swords be worse than mithril plate, in terms of xp/hour and gp/xp. Assuming they are worse than would it be mithril platebody till 85 then adamant ceremonial to 88?
-
It is, it just doesn't stack with alters/ecto so the bonus xp weekends are actually worse to train prayer on than any other day.

[hide=Copy-paste from my post on the update thread] You must use a normal hammer. Assuming ore prices remain on average similar to the past, adamant ceremonial swords are roughly 10gp/xp based on experience figures in the knowledge base. Hopefully either the experience figures I'm using are incorrect (i.e. this new thing about one-time bonuses can be gotten semi-frequently?), or the experience per hour is much higher than existing methods. If neither of these things are true, then it may still be more efficient to smith adamant platebodies with sacred clay hammers. Even if it isn't what we were hoping for, Jagex has clearly gone to a lot of effort with this, so it'd be a shame for it to turn into the next charm sprites. I have bad news. Even as a new training method, this area appears very deficient. I first taught myself how to quickly make ceremonial swords decently well using a bunch of iron ingots. I'm sure with more practice it's possible to get better, but not substantially so. I then used 20 adamant ingots to make adamant ceremonial swords. This took me half an hour, earned me 97,655 experience, and cost approximately 1.37M at average historical market prices (not current extra-high prices). This places the experience at around 200k xp/hr, and the cost at about 14 gp/xp. It turns out earlier figurse of 10 gp/xp were too optimistic, based upon achieving perfect swords every time, with no breakages. Straight-up smithing adamant platebodies, with no bonuses, gives about 250k xp/hr at about 12 gp/xp. Using sacred clay hammers and a scroll of efficiency, adamant platebodies would give the same experience as ceremonial swords, but at only 5.6 gp/xp. (Figures courtesy of Grimy's spreadsheets). So in other words, not only did this update fail to provide the smithing revamp everyone has been asking for, but it provides training which is inferior in every way to already-existing content. Unfortunately, you're looking at the new charm sprites :(. [/hide] I'm sure that the experts on this thread can manage more XP, and faster, than I did. However, I'd still be very surprised if it turns out better than previously-existing methods. Maybe there's some value to be salvaged from unexpectedly-good runite ceremonial swords? But I doubt it. [/hide]I haven't tried the update yet, only read the news article. I imagine you didn't count making adamant ingots (I think they are like bars and can't be bought from a dwarf) which means they are even lower than 200k :( Making adamant ingots is actually fairly instant. The machine just fills your inventory, it's not like smelting. Of course you also get no experience for making ingots. Do you get respect for making swords and can you spend respect on xp? I doubt this will increase xp much even if you can =/ I think they are the new charm sprites but even charms sprites were useful for skillers. You get respect for making swords but there is no xp reward for respect points (I guess you can just call it that). So no this didn't really change much if anything at all.
-
After you bought the plans did you have one try for 100% or is it unlimited?
-
as tokens, because you need to pay 30% respect EACH for those different swords Do you happen to know if you only get 1 chance at 100% for the sword after you buy the plans?
-
I can't figure out how to earn respect.... I've been smithing ceremonial armour for the last 20 minutes and I'm still at 0% respect.
-
Cannonballs are the flax spinning of smithing. The people who train with them don't care about xp/hour, only how much money they make.
-
Slipped my mind sorry didn't mean to say barrows gloves lol.

1. No idea they're almost too ridiculously rare to have a drop rate. 2. I use full elite void with dragon defender and korasi, and of course your standard fury, berserker ring, dragon boots and ardy cape. My inventory was quick teleport, 1 extreme set, 1-2 super antifire, 3-5 (possibly more you'll have to test that) prayer potions, unicorn scrolls, and a few sharks. Keep in mind that's banking bones and assuming you don't have overloads or a rapier. I have no clue what your stats are so all I can do is give you my gear and inventory. 3. No, it is not. They're less work to kill but in the end tormented demons beat them in cash/hour. Also the difference in effigy drop rates isn't enough to make mithril dragons better. Edit: Didn't mean to put barrows gloves sorry.
