  1. I think it is a cool idea. It would be cool if they expanded on it. Maybe put up notices around runescape when high level players get banned and when there trial is. I'm more interested to see how well their back-end detection works. That would not effect the botter in any way. They're banned, how would posting notices make them feel bad. I feel the same way about botany bay. Unless you surprised them by putting them in it when they log in and then do the "punishment", it's pointless. This is just something jagex is making so people think they're banning a lot of bots.
  2. Look guys I think you're all wrong obviously Dragonseance is the best player of all time.
  3. I'm interested in this as well. Considering the gap between Bandos and Torva (and the rest of the armours) has been considerably shortened, wouldn't Nex's difficulty be way out of proportion with her drops? Graardor, or any of the four main bosses are infinitely easier to kill than Nex is. It just seems crazy that for such a small boost in stats (in comparison to before) you have to fight a considerably harder boss. I'd like to see nex slightly easier just to allow room for a harder boss to make an appearance some time in the future and add an even higher tier of armor (90+ stats to use).
  4. I haven't played beta much but I'm wondering how nex is compared to the live game. Is nex harder or easier than the live game version?
  5. If you have the ability to opt into it then I would definitely recommend it. If the Botany bay bot nuke is as successful as Jagex believe it to be then the goldfarmers are going to turn to account thefts for their gold stocks. At least until bot developers overcome the new deterrents. I hope they last for a good time, and/or make it not worth the trouble. I personally believe nothing Jagex does can successfully break all bot programs permanently (unless they can keep innovating faster than the developers can work around it). But it might be possible to do something that makes bot developers and gold farmers move to a new game. Well the main thrust of their newest botnuke move seems to be less about bot breaking and more about bot detection (as mentioned in an interview or two); they are working on a system that actually can accurately identify and ban bots autonomously. This is definitely a move in the direction of keeping them out more long term because, whilst it would need testing, if a new work around emerges they can just add extra tests into the system that can find those bots. It'll become much less appealing to spend hours on end coding a work around if they know Jagex could fairly swiftly tweak their detection system to capture it, certainly we have to wait and see how it pans out but it does sound promising thus far. I'd like to add that botany bay doesn't even seem to be a "bot nuke" like the last one. What I mean is they aren't talking about even breaking them this time, just improving how they detect them (basically what he said).
  6. Does anyone know what method S U O M I is going to use for hunting and thieving? Or at least what people are expecting him to use. Just curious.
  7. You can't make the assumption that all US players come from metropolitan areas though. Well I guess you could but it would be horribly wrong. The US players with the ability to play Runescape typically don't come from the third world parts of the US. Again you're making assumptions - and borderline offensive ones at that, considering you could play RS reliably even with a satellite internet connection which is available in rural areas of the country. Borderline? I find them very offensive.
  8. I live in Louisiana. Your assumptions are wrong and uncalled for. Also, making assumptions based on tv shows on the discovery channel makes you seem stupid. Why wouldn't you find cellphones in Louisiana? Do you think we communicate with tin cans or something?
  9. You're saying it needs to be high tier but not endgame. It is at that point right now. Bandos and armadyl are top tier while nex gear is endgame. The huge price difference between them is simply the cost for end game tier. While I agree there needs to be something between bandos/armadyl and nex gear, the prices aren't crazy. End game gear should only be accessible to a small amount of players. As long as nex gear is the best there shouldn't be any reason to make it easier to obtain.
  10. Isn't that basically what the SoF does? Ya but it doesn't have a fancy menu.
  11. So how long before they use this as a way to sell xp.
  12. Out of curiosity do you have a source for that?
  13. Things like this aren't new. And you'd have to visit a sketchy website for this to happen. Stick to trusted websites instead of panicking?
  14. Two updates like this in 2 days. :wall: I mean I don't really mind the SoF and solomon's rwt shop existing but the only things they seem to be focusing on lately are those two things.
  15. About 15 hours of firemaking but that was only for one day. I did 10-12 hours a day for a week for 99 defense. Don't play nearly as much anymore though, that was a few years ago.
  16. I'm confused. How are they useless if they're one of the few things that heal you without draining your action bar? Or am I wrong and food doesn't drain your action bar either.
  17. Probably not, they were incredibly OP. At the moment they're completely useless, especially since they're a potion with a requirement in the 80s and fairly uncommon ingredients. A buff wouldn't hurt, and it probably wouldn't be too game breaking. Perhaps have them heal the equivalent of some mid-level food per sip, so they'll be more than rocktail per inventory spot but not necessarily good if you take a lot of damage at a time? Or just have them heal a fixed percentage of your health so they'll be a bit more useful with life point boosts. But don't they heal you without draining your action bar unlike food that does drain your action bar? That makes them worth using right there imo.
  18. A little over 2 years away from the 10 year cape. Thought my account was old than that but I guess not.
  19. The xp thing bugs me a little bit but the choose your fate thing scares me.
  20. Jagex didn't really make this as much of a big deal as I thought they would. Took all of 15 seconds to do and there's no reason to stay after you kill the first one. Oh well. Agreed.
  21. So what do you think will come that won't last permanently? Every item currently says "Duration: Permanent" in the store right now. My guess is buyable xp boosts.
  22. If they use refer a friend already I can see them using that if it did happen.
  23. The idea of selling non-cosmetic items would be most viable, imagine the issues involved if only say 20% of the player base 'buys' an upgrade to say a major town i.e. graphical rework + quest bundle, then they'd have to create a clone of the same location and make the town almost instanced to stop non paying members not see the upgrade others paid to see. And besides that's what we pay our monthly membership for, future content/updates. I said similar to the animations as in more new skill animations. Not major updates like quests and towns. :wall:
