I don't think anyone has forgotten it who knew the lore. Once Zaros was defeated many of his followers switched allegiances when Zamorak returned and started the God Wars. I don't remember reading anything about Zaros followers being involved in those wars unless they had turned coat. They wouldn't make an update that directly contradicts it. Zaros is not associated with shadows. He is associated with emptiness, conquering, and power that rivals Guthix. I don't see how you're saying it makes partial sense when everything contradicts it, the chief reason being that he was long gone before the God Wars even started. Why would he be entombed there then? Why would we need a portal to communicate with him in his former capital city of Sennisten when we could just waltz up to the door and put our ear to it? Just...why? Zaros is the one thing that absolutely doesn't make sense, let alone one of his followers. Meh. I just don't get it.

I would definitely say stick with the plan of getting karils because if you're only slaying, you don't need bcp or claws to be successful at that skill.

Yeah. Prior to beta, I couldn't run on anything other than tiny/fast and I barely hit the 30fps mark. Now I can only play on far/fast, because all other methods lag far more than the control panel is letting on. On tiny/fast it tells me I have 20fps but it plays like I have 5. And across the board, the chunk updates always seem to remain around 50~. Mech!

I'm not aware of anyone saying there wouldn't be a boss back there. In fact, considering the confirmed dialog coming from there, I'd be extremely shocked if it was anything BUT a boss. The biggest bone to be picked is who the hell is saying that.

They might be a company that alienate their customers from time to time but their lore has always been detailed and well fleshed out, improving in quality over time. To make such a 'twist' as you're calling it seems completely against what they've already established in quests and lore alike. There isn't even a connection between Zaros and GWD save that Zamorak, who defeated Zaros, incited the war. That's it. There is literally no other connection. Could it happen? Yes, there's a chance for everything in the realm of speculation. Is it feasible? Not really, if their lore writers and content developers maintain the quality of storytelling that they have up until this point. Unless of course George Lucas recently took up residency at Jagex HQ...

Unless it requires an exceptional amount of skill and/or requirements, like those found in WGS, which unlocked Tormented Demons. Their value is still preserved and its shockingly empty considering its low cost/profitability.

There's always the traditional alching, string amulets, bursting, etc. They've all got guides in the Archive of Wisdom. Charge increases the damage from your god spells, which is what you'd need if you wanted to use Claws of Guthix with that method. However, I'm an immense idiot and forgot about fire wave. You could probably get away with fire wave, but you might have harder time competing if crashed.

Get to 80 mage for charge spells and 1 more sum level for a uni and DKs could be your best friend. Solo maging, I mean. At least, they were for me. Edit: As mentioned in later posts I am an extreme idiot.

Precisely my thought and several others right now. But we do not know where he is or why he would even be imprisoned. So it's not really conclusive, either. Still...I don't know what else it could be. o_O

Also possible. But considering the TC wasn't the creator of the object (since we've seen it many times prior to this) it would be in your best interest to think before you post, as they wouldn't have been the one to create it if it were fake.

Only because from Infdev to alpha there were major changes, I assumed the same to hold true for alpha to beta. But yes, beta is where they work out the bugs for release. I hadn't noticed many bugs to begin with though. Just a lot of missing features that should be there, like a mod manager etc. It's like a bad yo dawg vertical right now. "Yo dawg I heard u liked mods so we put mods in your mods so you can manage your mods while you use your mods."

A little sad that the beta wasn't a big thing, especially since there were still so many things on the to-do list specified to be done before beta release and they were talking about how they'd charge for updates. Oh well.

This was originally discussed in the Damage/Hitsplat update thread. Not sure why it's getting its own thread but heyo! I won't believe it until I see it. The only thing I'm hoping that this image is showing is that we can obtain completed torva items from bosses but I hold onto the vain hope that the smithing rework will still happen. That we could get this material/thing/whatever from places other than boss hunting. Although it won't happen at the end of the year like the Runefest leaks implied (goes to show you that you can't believe everything you hear from the mouth of a mod). All I care is about the smithing rework. GWD is a lost cause to me unless I go with a group, and even then it's frustrating and tedious.

It's not exactly hard to get to. The first varrock achievement diary gives you the ability to tele right at the G.Es doorstep. Also, isn't the G.E fun to go to? The highest density of players in most every world. It gives it a special shine. It actually irritates me greatly because all the players won't display at once, general spam, lag, etc. If I have to go to the GE on a populated world even on my boyfriend's grade-a computer, I go with public off.

Those are the workers outside of the Tower of Life. He wants to go a little bit further east.

And one last note is to have the ability of point systems via slayer, you need to have completed the quest Smoking Kills (which according to your adventures log, TC, you haven't.)
