Wilderness and free trade vote! - Now Closed
From Jagex's own words: Simply put, free trading made it easier or more desireable to bot on spares. That is not a reason to abandon hope that free trade coming back will have the same issues as the old days had. If anything, I think it's going to put more pressure on them to be faster and crack down ten times harder because of it. And in doing so, we stand a chance of having a balanced game that offers equal opportunity for both the skiller and the pker.

Not strong nor relevant enough to disprove his very valid point--and if you weren't trying to disprove it why would you bother?

how do i get through the odd looking wall (elemantal workshop)
Use the search feature in the bank interface. You could have easily missed it if you were searching manually. Double check your keyring. After you've done that, then double-check the bookshelf you originally found it on and you should get the already Slashed Book and the key.

You should know better than to assume that join date will be the same as the date they started playing.

It's not worth killing another aspect of the game over, but they are both equally important. It's important to preserve pking and skilling. Pking and skilling both need a healthy economy to be successful. In order to do that, we need free trade and a better pking environment. Simultaneously, we also need bots removed or lessening their impact. Free trading will initially increase their appearances, but over time the added pressure will make them crank up their punishments, just as it had before. The thing is, do people want to take that initial hit in the hopes that we can have a healthier, more enjoyable game overall when Jagex is forced to step up their game to older standards? Or will people continue playing a crippled game as we have now because they've learned to adapt and they can't see past the pking association with these updates? Dunno. Tough choice. *cough*

I re-voted and I'm still not happy that this is going until the 14th. Unless we get a pleasant surprise and get the update on[/i] the 14th, but knowing how setbacks happen...Meh. I am impatient.

Something to Think About
Some of this content doesn't exactly need relocating, in my opinion. The Inferno Adze is an incredible item that gives you the woodcutting speed of dragon without the cost. It needs a little bit more risk. The same applies with curses, being they are the best offensive ones of the game offering a lower drain-rate--not to mention it's simple to get to with the right teleports. The wilderness volcano is completely desolate, with better areas for killing those monsters existing in safe areas. The ones I'm not really sure about are ones like Defender of Varrock, which has later become an amazing training spot, but in the quest itself carries little to no risk. Or if it does, what you need to carry to complete those legs are inconsequential to lose. Considering this spot offers 100k exp/hr with the addition of a gain of 50k gp/hr and a large amount of charge, it could do with a bit of danger. The Stealing Creation spot wouldn't exactly needed to be moved, rather change the Games Necklace teleport from Wilderness Volcano (which is no longer an activity) or to within Stealing Creation. Arguably, that should've been done ages ago! It made no sense to maintain the wilderness volcano teleport, save for the fact that clans used it. To give them the same benefit, they could simply move the banker from the Volcano into Stealing Creation and make it a safe area as it is in PvP. Not to mention Fist of Guthix also already has a direct teleport into safety. It's one of those things that don't need to be changed. The Chaos Tunnels are a safe area anyway and wouldn't be more difficult than, say, the Abyss to access. There are multiple entrances into these caverns and pkers certainly won't be camping all of them. Same for Penguins, the wilderness ones could just get an extra point or two in value to compensate. They don't need to be removed from the area. I don't think that these things will happen as I dictate. Hell, they may very well move them around, I guess. I just think that if they do take the effort to shuffle them all about, then that would be pretty ridiculous and an awful big waste of time.

New effigy assist chat?
Being in Assistclan and using w117 is still the best way to go about it. Just say <need an assist for <xskill/level> please pm me> every few minutes while looking actively in w117.

2K10 Prods
Calling them 2k10 prods isn't really accurate, considering this mentality has been around forever. Hell, it sort-of was even the founding principle behind one of the oldest clans, Wilderness Guardians, who followed the beliefs of killing the pkers that killed skillers. But you're right at the core of your argument--pking in the wilderness is completely legitimate. Pkers get a bad rap because it's how people took advantages of others illegitimately (ie luring from out of wildy/glitch moonwalk into wildy etc). People forget that.

That's simply your opinion. We don't have enough information to say how things will play out either way.

Old wilderness and removal of trade limit
That's what I was hoping for too, but according to Mod Mark they're not removing content. Which is just completely asinine but mech. It's like finding a delorian and going back in time but then getting sideswiped by Marty McFly.

The next statement is true.
The next statement after your topic was "mind boggling." Your topic body says the title is false. Therefore the topic's not a mind boggler. Was that the intention? :?:

They could implement it on bounty worlds after free trade. Thats what bounty hunter was originally designed for... Holy crap, you mean people actually liked the Bounty Hunter mechanic, and not that it was just a way to make HUGE money by killing RWT'ers? o_O No, seriously, I'm shocked at the concept.

One aspect yet unconsidered...
If you look at it that way, sure. I'd agree that's a wrench in that line of thought. But if we're trusting that they are going through with this update then why wouldn't we trust the word of a jmod speaking on that same recent subject? Dunno. If we're going just off of personal feelings then? I don't care if gravestones are around or not, so long as things are lootable one way or another. Say that a grave collapses, and you can loot it only when that occurs. If we're going to party like it's 2007 though, I don't want them around at all. They're nice, but it'd be nice to have a little risk back in the game too.
-
One aspect yet unconsidered...
Mod Mark said they're not removing content with this update so until we hear otherwise assume gravestones are sticking around with the exception of the wilderness/corp/etc.

I would be shocked if botters used script to help their cause! Not talking about in game botters, I'm talking people who know how to code and want to put their coding skills to good use. That's what he's talking about too. Sarcastically. We already know people are using scripts like that. It's not exactly a secret/surprise :P

They're building hype because they were probably going to implement it regardless. This gets the buzz going, though, and the subscriptions coming.
