  1. Of older generations who are primarily involved in these facepalm-worthy, you're most likely right. Looking back on it now, it only strengthens the point of the topic. Somybadyo.
  2. Exactly. Low ratings are not a problem as long as they're accompanied by something that isn't blatantly putting the person's achievement down. For example someone posts an 80 fletching thread: Bad: "1/10 Come back when you have something better to post noob." Good: "1/10 Level 80 fletching isn't a very hard level to reach. Try going for 99 now." If low ratings were posted with criticism that is be helpful, or even encouraging we could make Rate This a place where anyone can post what they achieved without being attacked, flamed, or put down for it not being a 99, maxed skill, etc. Except if you go through the past few pages, that hasn't been the case. You don't have to post a low rating with constructive criticism, because that isn't a violation of the rules. The board itself has no topicality. I don't think saying, "Be nicer" is enough. So either a) the moderating team is removing the bad posts, in which case the system is working yes? We (the users) just have to be more patient before we see changes made, just like with what happened in the Clan section's change in moderation style to cut down on trolling, because we can't see user punishments. b) it's borderline posts/rude posts that spur a lot of off topic disputes which people must not like, in which case there needs an enforcement of topicality (blade's suggestion would be the perfect solution then) or c) nothing changes, the people who think that rude is against the rules need to be educated both about the rules, the report system, the ignore system, or any combination of the three. Which is it?
  3. You of all people should understand that it's not. It is. Clearly not or we'd have an awful lot of American TIF'ers bashing Islam here, which isn't the case.
  4. You of all people should understand that it's not.
  5. To add, just talk to her and select the option to go to Senliten and you'll automatically be taken there.
  6. That's an understandable concern, but considering how they didn't update the Dragon Defender to give stats in line with the pattern I think it's fair to say that, at least for a good bit of time in the foreseeable future, we've hit the most we could in terms of stronger shields yet to come out and they intend to preserve the tiering at least for now. 10/10. Smart buy, long time goal, you're happy, everyone's happy. Pride and good feelings all round! grats.
  7. I can understand not wanting an update because you're not in a clan, but your perception of clans really couldn't be any farther from the truth. I feel sorry that you experienced some experience so bad that it made you hate clans so much. Because surely you wouldn't be insulting 30% of the community with no understanding of that community, right? Right?
  8. I'm not talking about the study but those who will twist its words. Already one prominent media figure tried to do it, who is next? No matter how many people will advocate what you just said, because the news thrives on negativity any correction and truth is downplayed. These studies are destined for misuse.
  9. Where is the beauty in a black and white world? Most people these days don't use religion as an answer to questions; instead, they look to science...which is what I'm assuming why you call it an outdated concept? Instead, most people use modern day religious practices as a guide of behavior, to which there is no 'expiration date' to be a good person is there? Is a person to be ridiculed if being a good person for them was due to Hinduism rather than something they discovered on their own, if the end result is the same? Who cares. Really.
  10. Don't understand what you're trying to say. Clarify plox?
  11. Kimberly replied to unjustblood's topic in Rants
Look at it this way, TC. At least your cannon isn't lost. That was really the only sunny comment I could think of.
  12. Well, think of it this way then: if he hasn't made a facebook page about it/ebay thing/any sort of selling thing and it's all been PM's, it's unlikely you have to worry about being wrongly banned. So grats! Just be more careful in the future and you should be able to avoid suspicion.
  13. I took offense to this because I was under the impression that they were constantly looking on how to make the games more teamwork friendly. The fact that they're now 'just starting' seems horribly...wrong somehow. Either they're lying that they were helping to support clans then or they're lying that they're just starting to now. One is far more damaging than the other, so its no wonder they say this specifically. I'm surprised they don't have a cavalcade of suggestions to begin with! I know the Clan Section's admin, Laikrob, frequently hosted questions for Jagex in the past. People have expressed what they want not only here, but all over the RSOF. Is this really all they can tell us so far? Or is the project they're working on now so vast that they don't have the resources to even say they're working on other projects yet? Let's look further.. ORLY. RIP Runehead 2005-2010, you'll be missed.
  14. Not when the original point of discussion is so unclearly (hoorah words that don't exist) defined. Not everyone is able to connect the dots, so instead of intelligent discussion it becomes usually 1) Christainity vs anything else 2) Atheism vs anything else 3) Left vs Right 4) Propaganda vs fact (ie where's your proof where's your proof where's your proof where's your proof where's your proof where's your proof where's your proof ) And it's usually one of a few users for each focus of conversation that start the spiraling down to Topic Hell. Lots of people have actions that contradict their beliefs. We're human. I'm sure there are a lot of people that would qualify for the definition of a psychopath if we only looked at one set of their actions. My thoughts on the matter? So what? Clearly we've all realized this from the moment we were able to critically think and ask questions about life, actions, morality, etc. So why do we all have a freak out the moment the focus of the day switches to another group of people? It sucks when things like these studies, which are studies on human nature, are used as excuses for personal agendas (not you, sees_all, but the people who pay for studies such as these).
  15. The marketplace does. They have a "Please report suspicious listing Here." tab you can click on when you're viewing the individual listing. If it's something on their wall the TC could always try a "Contact Us" feedback form and see where that takes him.
  16. No wonder we only saw them intermittently, they were trying to hit you guys as well. Grats DF, looked neat.
  17. Gadwin Printscreen (free edition) will allow you to place watermarks on your screenshots. As for account security, start looking for the oldest valid information concerning your account and have it handy if necessary. As for verifying you're not RWT'ing, I wouldn't know how to verify that, but if you give a detailed appeal you shouldn't have a problem I'd hope if it even gets to that.
  18. Well looks like I've another bug to report then. Thank you for clarifying that.
  19. Uhm. Please actually read my post. :/ The in-game manual does not say to do so in the ranging guild, which is why I did it in the seers bank. And although I appreciate you pointing out the requirements to the range guild that I quite clearly can accesses, it really had nothing to do with what I was asking. >_> To show you what I'm talking about... I'm asking post-task update has this task changed? Has anyone done this since then, and which area works?
  20. Hey, tipit guides say that you have to be standing in the Ranging Guild when you make these potions. The in-game description for the task says you only have to be in the seers area. I've tried making it in the seer's bank (With a +5 boost from a stew no less) and even though I successfully make the potion, from normal to extreme as the guides both dictate, it doesn't register. It doesn't even say my progress has been updated when I make the normal ranging potion. Has anyone done this task post-update to enlighten me? I don't want to spend another hour trying to get a +5 in the ranging guild only to find out it doesn't work. (EDIT: please note that I'm talking about a herblore boost here *facepalm*) Thanks.
  21. Haven't heard a lot from UK on either fansite to be honest. Post moar.
  22. I saw people talking about this on Gamefaqs for a while and they didn't denounce it. After all, there is going to be a 5th installment as well as an mmo, we just don't know when. So it's good to get discussion going about it :D

  24. I would've loved if Necro expanded more on his experiences both playing WoW and RS, but I enjoyed reading the article regardless.
