  1. The "god power" would act as it did when guthix died. We can't ascend to godhood. Are you 100% sure, god power wouldn't vanish? I'm almost certain it was mentioned recently, but I've checked for a long time and can't find a source to it. I apologize.

  3. First off, really dude? Moving on from that... Next, you'll see that I did directly address that point about formal cooperation. Please reread my post. The cited lore by Yoko Kurama falls under that definition. It absolutely does not guarantee they won't be backstabbed unless they have enough value or power to protect themselves first and foremost. Right now that protection lies in indifference. This threat would exist regardless. You are being too idealistic in thinking that a formal agreement will prevent this. The only thing that matters in this case is power and benefit. And that certainly has no bearing on whether or not what is happening now and has happened in the past is an alliance or not. If you reference the definition I provided earlier, you've described an alliance to the letter. The same can be applied to the events going on now.
  4. That doesn't seem to be true any more now that combat tiers cap the amount of damage you can do. You can't use t60 gear and expect to remain competitive against the guy with t80. Across the same tier of the same class seems to be more in-line with what you're suggesting, but not the same tier across classes. But I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong.
  5. I don't understand why it would be stupid, but it just might be a matter of different perspectives. We don't know Zaros' will no matter how much of a fanatic we might be, role-wise. The only place right now on Gielinor that you can commune with Zaros is the Temple at Sennisten, hence the extra dialog options. But he's grown stronger so that he might observe without the use of a communication portal. That's very significant. Still, ignoring the fact that he might've been able to communicate at the event, there would be little reason to do so. Control comes in many forms, and information is often the fastest way to learning how to control your competition. He might approve of Sliskes methods or not, but that's largely irrelevant. Zaros was there and any choice you made would have satisfied his dominion of control; it was a decisive action you made that continued events. There was no wrong choice for Zaros as there might have been for say, defending Saradomin's blind take on the situation. I did find it interesting that Saradomin's reaction was pure horror to find the Stone of Jas was the goad to incite the next God Wars. He might've been insufferable prior to that, but it was a reaction that made sense following the...more intimate? knowledge we gained of him during Death of Chivalry. Respectfully, I think your point has no point. Alliances are temporary and used only to achieve short-term goals, made in hopes to benefit all parties in the alliance in the short-term. The indifference is the benefit, the goal is self preservation above all else or else obtaining the stone has no point. If you're looking for a more formal declaration, yes, that has not been introduced yet. But what you have defined is effectively an alliance and you're quibbling over details that haven't been brought into question.
  6. IT's like that regardless if you supported Zaros in TWW because he's not really there and doesn't have an interactive presence at the Ascension. You're not locked into the choice, the choice isn't there because Zaros isn't capable of reacting or voicing his opinion regardless if an invocation of him is there or not.
  7. Except almost all rb's didn't do it on their own, they bought dragon balls (20$ usd/per last time I checked) to reach those levels. That's not the sort of thing I want to see in Runescape.
  8. I join the fight against Blaze's tyranny and help reinforce the wall. 76 HP
  9. SMP hosts a local server on your system when you play, so yes, spawn protection still exists iirc.
  10. Prestige systems have always been a way to remove the level cap in gaming - a lazy way, yes, but a way. I'm not terribly surprised that they're doing this, but I feel like they'll cite the people who urged the skill caps to be raised to 120 as a reason behind an update such as this. Problem with that is this is completely different than increasing the level cap. Eventually they'll start adding benefits to the prestige system, like many games do, to urge people to keep playing and leveling. And with it, they'll start adding items, for-pay, to bypass some of the leveling as the exponential growth of resetting your skill's prestige becomes too ridiculous. This sort of thing absolutely should not be taking place in the game, or like the joking references I've made to Conquer Online over the years, Runescape will become that joke mmo that all other MMOs are warned against becoming. They're obviously going to go through with it at this point regardless of player feedback to the contrary, just like they did with Microtransactions. Because of that, I'm not going to waste my time and energy into a pointless battle. Just be prepared to milk the game for all the fun you can. Leave your bags packed at the door to be prepared for a hasty retreat. So very disheartening. So very shameful. (wow such update so shame not same dogescape anymore)
  11. TBH when I saw it posted on Reddit given how they worded the title I thought they were showcasing an upcoming update. I figured you had made the same mistake initially given your edit, which is why I didn't bother splitting anything off into its own topic. If you want me to though just PM me. Don't worry about it being a short topic, that's not really a problem so long as it's relevant to RS and isn't just a link with no text to the artist's deviantart :P
  12. Oh god I liked your post halfway through reading it because yay levelup and then i finished reading it and i felt like an ass ;_;
  13. I would say if you didn't already have your dragon pickaxe gilded, then it's not worth the bother. Especially considering you probably don't play regularly, unless I miss my guess.
  14. I haven't actually been training firemaking aside from daily challenges and strange rocks when I get fed up of curly roots. I still don't really know much about Char's cave except the last time I went it was annoying as all hell. I don't think I'll have the patience to learn how to do it properly for a little while more.
  15. That's all I really wanted to know in regards to bonds - usage stats. Even if they are fudged, there's less reason for them to do so. I'm glad they're being bought and used, even if it has its own complications down the line. The ability to buy membership with in-game cash is infinitely useful.
  16. Let's play minigolf together one night. http://www.playforia.net/play/minigolf/
  17. There was (and still is, but hey) some crazy crap going on that preoccupied me but I want to say thank you CJ, Gwyn, Meghan, and ALG for the birthday posts. Means more than I can say. And thanks too for the bumps :wub: Every time for the past month I wanted to take a picture, I forgot to actually...save it. So here's lazy part 2 which includes the most useless 99, fletching: Rest in peace free hunter exp from Super September. You will be missed. I only have one level for Mining and Hunter to go though, and that's pretty cool. I managed to get my 4th piece for the statue of dahmaroabkjeajnfsbilae and a few more scrims. And then I got a pair of Botanist Trousers, which have a similar color scheme to Juna's Gift, one of my favorite tops. So I looked for green shit to equip for a bit. And uhh that's really all I did. Yeah. You might've expected me to do more in a month. In that case, you have too high expectations.
  18. I hoped that her uncle wasn't a power-hungry maniac, just misguided. Both character types are used a lot, but at least it wouldn't have followed directly on the heels of our previous power-hungry maniac, Amon. And you would've thought the night after seeing a statue in the Avatar room light up that the kid would've asked Tenzen about it, but no. Still, that was some nice character development. I got a little choked up when Boomy spoke at Avatar Aang's statue. ;_;
  19. Who actually goes into blogscape, a blog depository for people who play Runescape, and acts surprised to find out that yes, there are indeed people who still play RS. I have a feeling you didn't think that statement through, did you. '-'
  20. In your original picture you had 28 inventory spaces. :P You didn't lose any inventory slots, don't worry. The NIS update allowed for screens like your backpack to be stretched like in your picture so that your backpack screen is larger than the amount of inventory slots you have. Like Aiel said, you can resize it to look like it used to without worrying that you'll lose inventory slots. You will always have the original 28 slots available to you.
  21. I think it's aiming to be a cheaper PC tailored to the living room more than a traditional console. It might even go the same sort of route that Dell pioneered with "mass customization," allowing the consumer to pick and choose the specs they want (within certain limits.) It's kind of cool, but the Steam Machine itself doesn't really draw me in. It's mostly the aspect of competition (especially against microsoft and the xbox) against the major consoles and innovations in closing the console/pc gap that intrigues me.
  22. That actually really made me upset. I'm wondering if I could use a program like gmask to restore it, but I doubt it. ;_; That was the best part of these vids, getting info and then seeing what could be ferreted out. I hope the next world event will be more brief, say only 4 weeks or so. 10 weeks and all those things to collect really burns you out if you hit it full-throttle. And yeah that's our responsibility as players to avoid, but I wouldn't mind them being slightly shorter. EDIT: Oh, you know what? The stuff on the monitors might have been from the dwarven quest that was delayed but the vid editors were told it would've been released already. I imagine they do all these videos close together. Maybe they won't keep hiding things, but rather they did it to keep the new dwarf quest as much a surprise as possible. Or maybe I'm just clinging to a vain hope haha. All the other screens were BOL related, like Kara Meir in the first screen, so it might be that too. EDITEDIT: It sounds like we'll have a chance to restore lumbridge later on. I wonder if they'll use this as an item/gp sink as well. It would certainly be a clever idea.
  23. http://store.steampowered.com/livingroom/ Avid followers of Steam and their products and services have known that they planned to break into the console market for some time now. Today wrapped up the announcement of their plans to do just that. First announced by Valve was the SteamOS, followed by the Steam Machine, and finally the steam controller. Some of you guys might be aware that Steam finally announces a Family Sharing option for games. This was actually leaked quite a bit ago when fanatic redditors spent some time poking around after one of the big software updates. It was finally announced on early in September and SteamOS plans to take full advantage of it in the living room, along with several other features console users are used to in this current iteration of consoles. The OS itself will be 100% free, linux-based architecture. Later in this big week of announcements, Steam Machines were unveiled. Coming in 2014 running the previously announced SteamOS, they'll be offered in several different versions with different specs once they hit the market. The final announcement wrapped up Valve's big push into the console realm with the Steam Controller, a gamepad that tries to emulate the high fidelity keyboard/mouse experience in a restrictive controller-shaped device. Designed to work with all games on Steam, it can be used by PC fanatics and Steam Machine explorers alike. Throwing traditional joysticks out the window, it instead uses trackpads -- yeahhhhh -- to allow for higher precision movement argued to be impossible with joysticks. Electromagnets beneath the trackpads help deliver tactile feedback that it otherwise would have lacked in this joystickless departure from tradition. The center screen is a touchscreen which "allows an infinite number of discrete actions to be made available to the player, without requiring an infinite number of physical buttons" according to Valve. It's butt-ugly and console fans might shy back in revulsion, but it might be the sort of thing that revolutionizes console play forever...if it tests and sells well. And in an age where consoles are about to become irrelevant, spec-wise -- especially if things like the Steam Machine soars in popularity -- they need radical changes like the Steam Controller offers to close the gap between consoles and PCs. So yeah, that's Valve's big announcement. I'm excited as all hell for it. What do you guys think?
