  1. lol... It's basically a black sword that requires 1 attack to use. Yes, that's worth "mass outrage". Its stats are on-par with lesser steel weapons, and far outclass iron weapons. Alone it isn't terribly unbalancing, since the tiny extra bonus doesn't affect most players. But what if future items are similarly balanced (aka, a full tier above their requirements in stats)?
  2. If I get 6 hours, anymore, I consider myself lucky. Loud thunder at 5am. 3 times in the last 2 weeks I have been woke up by it... I don't have to be up until noon. Some people can't run on that amount of sleep I'm suffering the entire day. And it's not soemthing I think I'll get used to, as I got that amount throughout the entire school year, almost.

I was rumored to be gay through all of middle school and through half of high school (about 3 1/2 years total), until I surprised everyone by dating a girl. I also only found out about the rumor after it ended. Admittedly I was close friends with an obvious gay guy, but still. Also, said friend got suspended one day for shoving someone, and by the end of the day he'd apaprently written a story featuring most of the people in the school being killed horribly. #-o Also, the Romans never actually crucified me.

[hide=An artist's depiction of me pulling the first manger plank][/hide] And there really isn't any harm to this, is there now? I mean, why shouldn't you accept it?
  7. Realistically, that would never happen to me. But if, hypothetically, she felt the same way about me then I might think differently, but even then I don't know how long it could last or if we would really be right for each other. It's just too hard to know. Even if a relationship does end, the happy parts of a good relationship will be worth the pain at its ending.
  8. On that note, any time when strangers park in front of your house, especially if they have space in their driveway.
  9. But how would Jagex ever know? Sure there'd be an IP change, but sicne the old IP would assumably stop logging onto that account, then wouldn't the detection system assume a enw computer was bought?
  10. And i once beat someone named Jesus in a chess game. Does that mean I'm smarter than the messiah? BOW TO THE NEW MESSIAH YES! Now all shall bask in my eternal glory! I don't recall this. And also I'm still upstairs guys, so don't worry.

My house is the coolest place on Earth.
  12. KKK =/= extremist?
  13. How does that even make sense? It's not like Blizzard encourages gold farming, nevermind gold farming done by prisoners in highly adverse conditions. You might as well say "Don't blame me for stabbing that man, blame the blacksmith for making the knife!"
  14. Is this a cleverly constructed spambot with a terribly selected target audience? Or a troll? Or a newb with a rather odd choice of a first post? Once we know the answer to this I think Jesus will come.
  15. Ok...then you're clearly a troll. If you didn't care at all you wouldn't post, unless you gained enjoyment from pissing me off; hence a troll. I didn't post to piss anyone off. I saw something funny, and that I sided with somebody, and so I posted such. If you don't like my view or opinion, that's your prerogative. But these people know what very well may get them thrown into prison, even if it's not clearly against the law. They know what happens in their own prison systems. If they still chose to do such a thing, then they pay the consequences. You can't tell me every person in that prison is behind bars/computer screens for petitioning. I'm sure many, if not most, are thieves, rapists, murderers (Who are lucky to have and do not even deserve their own breath). Being forced to play WoW is by far not the worse thing that could happen to them in such system. It's not the worse thing that is happening either. Wait, so you think that punishing thievery with torture is acceptable? In other words, if you were starving and stole bread for your family, you'd consider it just to be just to be locked into prison and forced to do back breaking labor by day, and slave in front of a computer by night as sleep deprivation and exhaustion slowly and permanently damaged your psyche? And if you think China is even mostly fair when it coems to punishment, you should probably learn a bit more about the country. Besides, it's better to let a thief walk free than to incarcerate an innocent man for his entire life. Edit: Admittedly it isn't the woprst thing that could happen to them, however if I were to walk up to you and shoot you in the arm, and then say that you don't deserve sympathy because plenty of people get shot in the heart, would you not be outraged? Just because worse thigns can happen doesn't eman than bad things shouldn't be opposed and stood against. And it isn't just "being forced to play WoW", as you seem to fail to understand. Although from the way you've been posting I don't think you can even guess as to what forced sleep deprivation can do to a person.
  16. This is a curious step in logic: just because these countries (Including our own) do not hold to those conditions, doesn't mean they should be expected or demanded to change. So just because some entity is doing something, something which can usually be seen as obviously morally wrong or at least dubious, that doesn't mean others should expect or demand a change. Just because our country right now continues to be homophobic, racist, sexist, islamaphobic etc. we shouldn't do anything and should just be expected to carry on. Wasn't there that whole Civil Rights Movement that hinged on the idea that people can demand equal treatment from their government and actually make gains in the quality of life? Yeah, the world still sucks, and politics often delays these processes, but to say that we cannot demand change from our society is to give up. Sure go ahead -- make all the demands you want. While you're at it, put a pile of poo in one hand and pile of those demands in another, and guess which one will draw China's attention first. It's not within the U.N.'s mandate to make these changes happen neither is it within its power. That said if you WANT to make change happen in China, find a way to get Facebook and Twitter to have a wider audience therein. If the Arab Spring is any example, and I think it is, these social networks are having more affect making change, than anything the U.N.'s managed to do in the past 70 years. I'm not commenting on the rest of your post because I don't like interfering with posts directed at other too much, but: "Sure go ahead -- make all the demands you want. While you're at it, put a pile of poo in one hand and pile of those demands in another, and guess which one will draw China's attention first. " What the [bleep] is that even supposed to mean? Yes a pile of crap in someone's hand would draw attention faster than demands (assumably written, if they're being held, as demands alone are incorporeal), but that has nothing to do with anything. Are you trying to imply that the demands are worth less than fecal matter? If so your comparison is awkwardly phrased and badly executed. And if not, I repeat: What the [bleep] is it supposed to mean, then? Anyways, if you're saying demands is worthless, then I'd like to ask you what would have happened if you had never applied for a college. I paraphrased and old expression ... [/hide] So what you're basically saying is that it's pointless to acknowledge an atrocity as an atrocity if you as a single person cannot stop it alone? Because the only way to gain support and actually gain the support to end this is through knowledge. Which is spread through stories like the one linked by this article. No. What I am saying is that you can scream all you want about certain "atrocities", but the likelihood that you're going to affect change screaming about them is so close to zero, that it's really not worth the time or effort to get all excited about them. Mainly because, in this case, the act itself isn't all that atrocious, despite the tender mercies of certain individuals herein to claim otherwise. There's a time to pick your battles. There's a time to get morally outraged. This isn't one of them. So you consider it not too bad to be locked up, and forced to do manual labor all day, and grind in video games all night (a good aprallel example to this would be being forced to re-write documents all night every night, and be beaten when you missed your quota for number of documents copied), the combination of which would cause extreme sleep deprivation over time in anyone who can't run on four or less hours of sleep a night for months at a time? And if you say that it's contestable that they're sleep deprived, read Sees All's most recent post, especially the huge fonted bit.

  19. [hide] Oh yay! A new "angle". Shall we argue about your definition of "camp" now? Or shall we merely agree to disagree that this is something "lost in translation" as related from the original source? As a prisoner at the Jixi labour camp, Liu Dali would slog through tough days breaking rocks and digging trenches in the open cast coalmines of north-east China. By night, he would slay demons, battle goblins and cast spells. I'm not sure how many ways there are to interpret that. Apparently two -- there's the foolish notion that they worked people 24/7, which is not supported elsewhere in the article -- and there's the correct idea that they split work into 12-hour shifts, some working day shift, and others night shift, at varying tasks ... Now -- which part of this don't you comprehend? Or are you just going to spam the same insipid nonsense repeatedly? [/hide] Apparently you didn't even read what he posted. As a prisoner at the Jixi labour camp, Liu Dali would slog through tough days breaking rocks and digging trenches in the open cast coalmines of north-east China. By night, he would slay demons, battle goblins and cast spells. As many have asked already, where is this mystical aprt of the day between day and night where you can get a full night's sleep in while working through the other two? And your ending snippet really was an instance of the kettle calling the pot black. Spamming the same trolling argument? Wait, what has been your argument against everything posted on the alst three pages, again? It seemed to amount to : "You can't read and you're all idiots and even though everyone else has interpretted this article differently I must be samrter than all of these worthless fools, and when a massive post is made shooting me down I'll simply argue a single paragraph or sentence from it and ignore the other bits that are impossible to go against yet prove me wrong."
  20. Sounds like you gave her some kind of emotional blue balls, or maybe it is the 'some girls are dumb' thing. She sounds like a bit of a drama queen. Make a physical move asap but make sure it's a confident looking one. My girlfriend keeps getting groped.. I'd love to break some fingers but it's always when I'm not there. Keep doing it you seedy [bleep]s, but at the end of the day you go home alone. Buy a tazer and rig it to attach to her bra/ fit in her pocket. ...Just make sure it only zaps outwards.
  21. :ohnoes: OT: I honestly find a good sense of humor to be amazing. Not so serious that she'll glare at you every time you crack a joke, but also reserved enough that she won't laugh uproariously over bad jokes, either.
  22. But most of Christianity viewed this man as a nutcase and incorrect.
  23. I think the general consensus of TIF here is that penis > ear.

Well, yesterday I got a $7500 per year scholarship for a rather good University literally out of nowhere. And today I learned that back in October I probably got my girlfriend pregnant, and she had a miscarriage a month later (she didn't consider it at the time, but looking back, the fact that she missed a period one month, then had an insanely painful and heavy period the month following that seems to point in that direction). The weird part is that it hasn't really uspet either of us, and that we're actually a bit closer now.
