200M in all Skills
The top 15 atm is rather slow moving (it's nice that S U O M I is going for 200m Rc at crawlers, but I'm sure its not the most exciting thing ever). All the big gainers besides S U O M I, Jake & AlmostLost have left. Imo the rest are just consistent players, but that's not a bad thing. Nice to see Kingduffy finally pass Zarfot soon. He's been rank 9 for a long time. Will be interesting to see how things play out as Suomi approaches 200m RC, 200m HP, and 200m Attack. For the Slayer battle my bets on Roger Al, just because he seems to play longer and probably has more effigies atm.

Lol @ the first question, Are you a girl. Tbh, though I found most of the questions to be pointless. Most questions just seemed rather random. Do you drive?, Whats your favorite Summoning Creature? Like he was making them up on the spot. Anyways, interesting how she chose her name, I bet it was a green bay packers shirt maybe with 98. I can definitely be wrong though.

25-Nov-2011 Quick Poll: RuneFest 2012 Location
They should have it in Seattle. New York City is nooby. LA is ok but still nooby, what is Chicago?. London had it 2 times already. I joke though, out of all those options I'd only attend the LA one, but still will be a $500 weekend. 2bad, LA is gonna lose anyways, oh well still got pax Edit: Although tbh, for the American city I was pretty sure LA would be the leading one, but even Chicago is pulling in more votes. New York is so 1990s :(.

200M in all Skills
Was trying to make a short guide for getting 200m every skill, anyways its 6am, so maybe someone can finish/fix the rates, and make it look pretty with pictures and stuff. Would be nice for there to be a guide that is efficient to follow for post 99 training. Feel free to change whatever, or discuss it, just dont troll it, I posted it in the hide bar in case someone trolls it or something. Idk the xp rates for slayer with effigies, or c2 woodcutting. So those would be helpful heres the link http://services.runescape.com/m=rswiki/en/200m_in_All_Skills or go to game info - runescape wiki - and search skills Maybe someone could also change the page title to Guide to 200m in All Skills It is a community driven wiki afterall [hide] Introduction - This is a short guide on how to efficiently train all skills to 200 million experience. The following attributes will be considered: - Base of 99 skills - Reasonable methods of skilling (Ex. Mahogany Tables Vs. Demonic Thrones) - Ancient Effigies - Funding for skills/gear is ignored Methods of training - To efficiently train all skills, some must be trained together. Combat: What gear should I use? With the Prayer skill and potions, defensive stats can be neglected. This gear has been decided to have the best DPS (Damage Per Second) at reasonable cost. Also, for the attack bonus considering the Chaotic Rapier is the weapon of choice, only the stab attack bonus will apply. This is because the rapier has a +94 stab bonus, +78 slash bonus, and can't use crush. Therefore, you will not use shared on the rapier, and train all of the 3 skills separately with stab. Weapon Slot: Chaotic Rapier -Offers +94 stab attack bonus and +101 Strength Shield Slot: Dragon Defender -Offers +25 stab attack bonus and +6 Strength Necklace Slot: Amulet of Fury -Offers +10 stab attack bonus and +8 Strength --Includes +5 Prayer Torso Slot: Torva platebody > Bandos chestplate > Fighter torso -These bodies all offer 0 attack bonus and + 4 Strength --Note: Torva requires money to repair, while offering the same offensive stats as the other choices. Legs Slot: Torva platelegs > Bandos tassets -These legs all offer 0 attack bonus and +2 Strength --Note: See Torva platebody post. Ring Slot: Berserker ring (i) > Berserker ring or Ferocious ring - All rings offer 0 attack bonus --Berserker ring (i) offers +8 Strength, however it requires 30 hours of Mobilising Armies, assuming 10 ranks per hour. --Berserker ring offers +4 Strength --Ferocious ring is only to be used in Kuradal's Dungeon and adds 40 damage to every hit over 0. Gloves Slot: Goliath Gloves > Gloves (Barrows) - Barrows gloves offers +12 stab attack bonus and +12 Strength (Requires the quest Recipe for Disaster) --Goliath gloves offer +14 stab attack bonus and +13 Strength. However, they require an initial 500 kills in set 1 at the Dominion Tower, and still degrade. To get extra pairs, it'll only be another 5 boss kills. Boots Slot: Steadfast boots > Dragon boots - Steadfast boots offer +2 stab attack bonus and +4 Strength --Dragon boots offer 0 stab attack bonus and +4 Strength Helm Slot: Slayer helm - Offers 0 attack and strength bonuses. However, the helm increases the overall attack and strength bonuses on slayer tasks by 15%. -- Protects against smoke damage in the Pollnivneach slayer dungeon for effigy hunting -- Holds 50 Summoning Scrolls Cape slot: Completionist cape > Max cape > Fire cape - Completionist cape offers +10 stab attack bonus and +4.5 Strength. Includes spirit cape ability. - Max cape offers +5 stab attack bonus and +4 Strength. - Fire cape offers +1 stab attack bonus and +1 Strength. Special Weapons: Dragon claws or Korasi's sword - When using specials of certain weapons it will decrease the length of the slayer tasks. - Korasi's Sword is the most effective on metal dragon tasks (Steel, Iron, and Mithril dragons), while Dragon claws are most effective on all the other tasks. Combat Track 1, Ancient Effigy Hunting at Cave Crawlers aka EffigyScape (Attack, Strength, Defence, Constitution, Ranged, Slayer, Runecrafting, Summoning) An effigy produces 90k experience in skills and a Dragonkin lamp. The skill with the slowest xp rate should always be chosen in terms of efficiency. Crafting -- Agility Constuction -- Thieving Cooking -- Firemaking Farming -- Fishing Fletching -- Woodcutting Herblore -- Hunter Smithing -- Mining Runecrafting -- Summoning At level 99, a Dragonkin lamp gives 48,029 experience. Drop rates of ancient effigies are based off the Npc's combat level. Cave crawlers seem to produce the greatest amount of effigies over a period of several days or hours. They're located in the Pollnivneach slayer dungeon are level 138 and multi-combat. They seem to average 1 effigy drop for every 700 to 750 kills. With the right set up one can average upwards of 750-780 kills/hr. Set - up Gear: Items listed above Overloads and turmoil Anti-poison++ potions Prayer Potions/Renewals Steel Titan Scrolls + Steel Titan familiar Cannon What experience rates should I be expecting? 70k to 90k melee xp/hr 30 to 50k constitution xp/hr 160k -200k ranged xp/hr 140k effigy xp/hr which will eventually average to 48k Slayer xp/hr or 60k Runecrafting xp/hr. (Woodcutting, Firemaking, Fletching) Requires Deadliest Catch and Monkey Madness Chop down teaks and bank them. Strong Woodcutting urns are strongly recommended, (could even replace Beaver with BoB to hold more urns) What experience rates should I be expecting? 105k-120k Woodcutting xp/hr 180k-220k Fletching xp/hr 25k-40k Firemaking xp/hr Fishing Track 1, complexity 2 fishing Repeat Dungeoneering floors 1-5 on complexity 2. Effective tree runs should take about 15 minutes. Palm trees take around 15 hours to grow, There are 6 tree patches. Each tree gives 10150.1 xp. So that's 60,900.6 xp/day off of fruit trees. I doubt there'll be a Rs3, because they still have stellar dawn, transformers mmorpg, and whatever else they're planning 2do.

22-Nov-2011 - RuneScape Revolution v3 & Anti-Gold Farming Measures V2
Per day, not forever. But given inflation is soaring due to the bot nuke, 25K doesn't really buy a whole lot. ohye sorry meant 25k/day, least it'll keep new players from doing any trust games.

200M in all Skills
Damn no Toony, Deja Vu Xiii, Gertjaars, Elias, + tons of others. Hiscores doesn't feel right anymore. If they wanted there to be competitiveness, just remove 200m caps, ranks don't matter for most people after the 1st page. Edit, or they could've just made 200m cap for skills, for overall ranks, but in the actual skill ranks themselves, let them go past 200m. So rank 1 overall isn't rank 1 cooking.

I like the wiki idea, prolly best part of the update. So, if I make a f2p account it'll have 25k limit forever, until I subscribe. Lol Jagex should lay off the marketing. I think a 2 week grace period is acceptable. Webpage kinda looks a little kiddy 2, but they change it often so doesn't really matter.

Bringing new players into Rs
Lots of nice post! I agree where the grind shouldn't be completely moved, because then it's fundamentally a different game, and wouldn't be able to reach the levels of other mmorpgs, just because of the capabilities, of a browser based game. I personally agree with the posters, who say there needs to be more at the low - mid levels (1-80). There's not much going on from 30-99 mining, except you can mine different ore, that brings little profit compared to other things on RS, making the whole mining skill pointless. What jagex needs to do imo, is redesign every skill, except skills that already offer a lot of benefits such as Herblore or Dungeoneering. Maybe at lvl 30 mining, you can gather untradable type of rock, that you can chisel at 30 crafting, and attach to a lvl 30 weapon using 30 smithing. Therefore it gives a new player a incentive to level all skills, to have the best weapons at level 30. Now thats just making the skills come more to life. Jagex would of course have to make the skills a lot more fun to train. Keep the xp/hr rates, because they're really not that bad, just the repetition is what bores most players. I'd say this would be best done in minigames, that combine multiple skills, like NukeMarine suggested. The xp rates of the minigames should be roughly the exact same as the current rates. So people can switch between picking a rock, and playing a minigame, and not feel cheated when choosing one training method over the other. So basically, I think every skill should have an alternate non repetitious training method, and there should be a lot of generous rewards for all the skills, throughout the length of the skill. Oh, and Jagex should always keep updating their graphics. Yes people like old graphics, but imo advancement is always best for a game. If jagex has the resources to upgrade RS close to todays consoles/PCs, then they should damn well do it. Even if that means a Rs2 to Rs3 movement. Which, I'd say most people would be fine with, if you could transfer accounts. And, Rs2 would make a great facebook game, as its purely browser based atm.

I heard charms are doubled so waterfiends in the chaos tunnels, might get you some nice charms. I'll probably camp black demons(just hope the resource tunnel counts), or dust devils. Edit: 15-16-642-63366578 Looks like effigies won't be doubled.

Bringing new players into Rs
Oct. 25, 2011. The beginning to a new era of RS. Not only has Jagex successfully combated bots, we still have free trade. (However, bots can always return, but I'm hoping that it proves too frustrating, so that the bot makers wont even waste their time or effort on Rs) Runefest: From what I've gathered, Jagex wants to make the game a more enjoyable and entertaining experience, and fix many of the problems that faces RS today such as grind and the unbalanced combat triangle. Now, I wouldn't say Runescape is dying, after the bot nuke, we get a more realistic number of actual players which seems to go from around 130k-90k players in the peak times like weekends or after the American players get out of school, down to 40k-30k players on the school nights. Also, note that not everyone is on 24/7, so the active player base is much larger than 130k players. Probably close to a million or even more. I'd say a million active players is pretty damn good. Not as much as what Rs was pre 2007, and definitely not as much as WOW or COD, but it's still a decent populated game. Now to the point of this thread, I'd say the key to longevity in RS, is the ability for new players to pick the game up and stay with it. The problem from today, compared to back when we all started is that RS, technologically wasn't that far behind in terms of cosmetics. Well actually they've always been behind considering the Playstation 2 was released around 2000-2001. Haha, wow never realized that Runescape really isn’t that old of a game, compared to like the 64 or ps1. Ofc, gameplay has very little to do with cosmetics though. I’d say runescape was revolutionary in the mmorpg market. It was almost like a pioneer, for bigtime successful mmorpgs in America, besides everquest. WoW, and Guild Wars didn’t come around until 2005, and there are so many more out today. I mean honestly I’d have to say the three main mmorpgs games for the USA back around the early 2000s, was Diablo II (well not really a mmorpg, but it felt like one), Runescape, and EverQuest. (I could be wrong but I think EverQuest was pure p2p) Of course there was Starcraft, warcraft, age of empires (game besides RS I've put the most time into, truly sad Microsoft got rid of ensemble studios), but they’re rts style games. Btw, Neopets doesn't count, lol mine are definitely starving, hopefully whoever owns Neopets, puts them out of their misery. Lol jk Now, I’m going to say we are remnants of the people who didn’t move on to the more advanced mmorpgs in 2005, due to financial reason, nostalgic reasons, and perhaps a few others. I understand the Runescape gets new players, but from my personal experiences most people have been playing for 4 or more years. I hate to say this but, I think the main reason why most of us were interested in Rs in the first place was because, it was completely free. So why should new players in the mmorpg market, choose Runescape, out of todays mmorpgs or the upcoming ones? What should Jagex do, to make their game more attractive, and not a game built around veterans of RS? I’d just like to hear peoples opinions on this.

RuneScape 2012 from RuneFest (future updates)
I'm not so sure about the new armor sets. The people kinda look like short and stubby. If you look at the Iron and Bronze armor image you can see the actual Rs version. Yes, RS has crappy graphics, but I think moving forward to 64 like graphics, will make the game look a little childish.

200M in all Skills
Good job Jagex  Now if they adress the reasons people chose to bot in the first place maybe runescape will last another 10 years. This is exactly the suggestion I don't like. People will target the grind and Jagex will do all they can to minimize it. This may include substantially increasing Xp rates. I WANT grind; that's what RS is about. I'm hopeful that when "targeting grind" Jagex won't just fall back on the easy option of making things faster. Jagex have said in the past that they love the fact that different skills are different speeds, that there are fast skills and slow skills, hard skills and easy skills (they said this when defending the Ivy/Sawmill training update, where they made woodcutting very easy, but they WANT woodcutting to be very easy, and I don't think they want RC or agility to be that easy.) I would hope that this philosophy remains when "targeting grind" and instead of speeding things up they make more updates like herblore habitat hunting, or Jadinko firemaking, where they provide an alternative training method, not massively different in exp rate (I know HH hunting is best in game but hunter was always a fast non-buyable, along with Thieving, always was meant to be so) but the new methods just provide a different feel to the motions of training the skill, or don't involve so much money or boring endless purchases and sales on the GE, or otherwise shaking up the way we train, and giving us more options to play how we prefer, whether it be for lesser exp or for equal exp. "Targeting grind" in that way is something I wouldn't mind at all. Im not going to argue whether or not grind based games are good or bad however I will say that as long as it is a grind based game there will be a large number of people who choose to cheat. Perhaps maybe not bot anymore but I can imagine gold buying will be on the rise. Your own achievements are extraordinary simply because you are a rare person to not mind the grind (or perhaps even enjoy it). My personal opinion on how to fix it is, keep xp rates the same make it still take insane amounts of hours ot max out however create non repetitive forms of training. But my cousin with autism (and perhaps a few other people) might hate the lack of repetition. Its just crap game design to make a game solely around click object A, use on object B, repeat 100k times and ive always seen bots as a symptom of Jagex poorly designed game. Bots would either say "[bleep] it ill have a program click 100k times so i dont have to while I do something fun" or the other types of bots will farm gold and sell it to a player, with the player saying "[bleep] it, ill buy gold so I can use Object C on Object D 25k times for 99 and save dozens of hours of my life bypassing repetitive and boring aspects of the game." .... guess I did end up arguing why grind games are bad  Except the fact that RuneScape is a successful game, therefore it couldn't have been a bad design. Design may not be bad, it's just not keeping up with the times. After Jagex removed all the bots f2p worlds rarely go past 200 people sometimes as low as 30. In this day in age there's so many games out there, that are better in RS. Yes, Rs is fun, but the time it takes to do stuff just isn't worth it to most people. I'd gurantee most players have been scaping for 4+ years. Jagex prolly doesn't get many new players. Jagex pretty much has to change something to bring in new players. All banning bots did, was keep players from leaving.

Tip.It Times - 30th October 2011
I agree with the first article, the only problem about teaching people in a dungeon is that to effectively teach someone, how to be fast it would probably take a 2+hr dungeon (to explain everything), and most people don't want that. Personally I learned from experience. I mean there are so many tips & tricks to dungeoneering, and the learning curve is different for everyone. I've met a few people who are 110+ dungeoneering and can't dungeoneer effectively. A lot of 120 dungeoneers, still don't know the herbs and 2ndaries for various pots. I agree about people having an elitest attitude, while I never get scolded, I've been on plentiful teams where the slower guy gets raged at. Personally, I don't get along with ppl who have giant egos, so after the dungeon I leave the team whether or not the keyer is fast. I usually key my own dungeons though, if someone doesn't know what to do and can't listen to advice, I usually just tell them to kill stuff. I never try to put others down though. My best advice: Gate doors Only kill monsters in gds/mime Bind a hood and 2h(t7+berserker) Don't afk Don't worry about dying, if you worry about dying you will never be able to dungeoneer effectively Don't skill If you follow all of that and still get raged at, after the dungeon find a new team, that person is just an [wagon].

Golden/Holiday Scythe Discussion
I think people are more mad, that the Halloween reward was a lanyard and a t-shirt. You'd think the lanyard and t-shirt would be way more Runefest appropriate than the golden scythe. All in all this Halloween event didn't even come close to previous events, and lots of people don't like having citadels thrown in their faces. So I'd say people are more mad about getting poorly thought of holiday items, while only 25 people got a golden scythe (scythe, made prestigious by nostalgic people). I'll admit that the emote for this holiday event, was really well done.

As long as 1 input = 1 action, I doubt they will ever change their stance on mousekeys and since they are standard on every? computer, and also can be considered something like a disability related program I think. They definitely have not stated anything related to mousekeys now being against the rules and I can't see why they ever would. Macbooks are incapable of using mousekeys even if you bootcamp to windows. School made me buy a Macbook Pro and I've only ever used it on Windows. Ok, I think the regular mousekeys were ok, but custom mouse keys were frowned upon, I just remembering they were argued about a few times in this very thread.

I got a question, with Jagex taking huge stance against botting recently, do you think mousekeys are still ok to use? Just bought a numeric keypad for my laptop.

That '2 month break' is actually when DG was released if I'm not mistaken. No surprise it took her longer than the rest of the pack to get 99. Well actually out of the top 15 I think Green098 was the 3rd person to get 120 dungeoneering behind telmo and tezz, even held rank 2(total level) for awhile. So she was actually ahead of the pack. However most of the top 15, waited for warped, whereas those 3 got 120 b4 warps.
