  1. Jagex needs to bring this guy in for 120 capes. Seriously he should make a portfolio. If someone dude came in with that, I'd hire him on the spot. http://valhelsing2.deviantart.com/art/Rs-SkillCapes-Level99-Epicness-VOL-I-399128300 http://valhelsing2.deviantart.com/art/Rs-SkillCapes-Level99-Epicness-VOL-II-431501259 It will be interesting to see how many people strive for 120s, and if it will largely affect buyables which are already pretty expensive since bonds. I'm sure most here remember when 99s seemed unobtainable. Maybe 120s will be the same way. Getting 104m exp at today's rates in a lot of skills takes as long as 99 slayer/rc once did.
  2. http://puu.sh/7yKbg 56B Bank sup.... Hahahahaha Jagex
  3. http://puu.sh/7ylO4.jpg This is my new Agility course. Inside if I wanna use ultimates. Outside if I just want 100% AFK. (Only have to click once every 5 minutes) You can get very close to 5 charges a minute. 2 ultimates every 30 seconds + the conveyor belt (counts as running). Edit: My mistake you can only do 4 charges a minute. Running counts in the 30 second cooldown. I haven't tried cleaning herbs so idk how many charges you can do a minute. Probably only 4. So at 99 Agility you can do (860*4)*60 = 206000 xp/hr. (4 charges/min) or 860*60 = 51600 xp/hr. (1 charge/min) (100% afk besides the 1 click/5 mins) Bonus xp is 412k xp/hr. 103k xp/hr.
  4. If the bonus xp rates in Heist are anything like BA I will be so happy!
  5. This is what I would want. Remove all the abilities, weapon/armour stats + speeds in EoC, and revert to '07 style. (Obviously change boss mechanics of EoC style bosses). However I know that won't happen. So here is my thoughts.... For the Strength/Attack debate. I would propose these changes. All Attack requirements are converted to Strength requirements (for melee weapons). Attack ability book loses its melee abilities and is replaced with abilities that benefit all three styles of combat offensively. The accuracy of all weapons is affected by Attack. or.... Strength affects the damage of all weapons. So Magic/Ranged will no longer give 1-99 damage. Strength ability book loses its melee abilities and is replaced with abilities that benefit all three styles of combat offensively. Solo Strength melee weapons get an Attack requirement. I agree that the 138 combat formula has no place in the current combat system. What I would propose is keep the 99 offense + 99 defense. Don't really need the +2. Summoning is taken out of the 99 offense category. Why? because range/magic/attack/str you can only do one at once. 99 summ you can do in addition to another. Summoning shouldn't be added at all, and should be considered in the same way as herblore. Same for Prayer. Herblore/Prayer/Summ are also all temporary effects, while the other combat stats are not. If someone doesn't train the skills then they should be put at a disadvantage. Summ definitely needs to be updated to make it scale from 1-99, and not just 99 is awesome for offense damage while 1-98 are meh. Lower level prayers could get beefed up a bit too I suppose. Herblore is pretty fair imo plus you can buy normal/super. HP should definitely be added on-top. offense + defense + constitution. Constitution could be rolled in with defense I suppose, but probably shouldn't be. Anyways that is just my take on it.
  6. Hmm they fixed the prices to be 1/120th of current GE value it seems like. As bad as it sounds people could buy shards for their actual value then donate them at full ge value. The Charitable title would cost them like 100m lol
  7. Dry for 8 hours? Isn't Malevolent energy easily millions per piece? :P Well, money wise, I don't think they much care. They're some of the most loaded people in RS. ;) They are in it for the enjoyment/drops, it seems. And they seem awfully dedicated; it must be disappointing to spend all your waking hours on this and only get 2 of the Mage shields. Doesn't seem as bad as some of those horror stories of players trying to get a sigil from the Corporeal Beast. Also, like others have said, as time goes by more and more players will be able to defeat the boss once the mechanics of the fight are better understood. Not much reason to nerf the boss imho. Seems like everytime a difficult boss monster is released the update thread has the same discussions.
  8. The problem remains in that people would have bought gp to purchase the materials to get the ranks needed to get to the untradeable items. Even dungeoneering levels and therefore the items can be purchased via buying floors. Don't get me wrong, I like the untradeable aspect for some high level gear but that won't solve the gp selling problem. Besides, if you look at it, bonds are a stranger's equivalent of buying membership for your school buddy or me buying membership for my daughter. Whereas before, you had to know the person that bought you membership, spins or runecoins now there's an honest broker method for it to be done with strangers. Really, that's all it is. Bonds shift who is paying for a Jagex service. Sure, unless your helping out a buddy you'll want some gp in exchange for a bond (hence the gp selling aspect) but Jagex is keeping its hands out of that part aside from a 10% penalty on retrades. Now, it could be worse. TS_Stormrage and I have suggested that perhaps Jagex can offer cash back or Amazon store credit at 60% to 80% value. Thinking more on it, this might be a bad idea in that it creates a legitimate dollar figure when it comes to bond trade value even after Jagex takes its cut. Not many will rush to trade gp for bonds when the only return is membership, spins and runecoins. However, if it turns out 1 hour of effort in game can result in enough gp to get 2 bonds from others (and maybe $8 in cash) you might find many, many people that don't give a crap about the game starting to play (or more likely bot) because there's now money to be made. Then again, combined with effective gp sinks, it could make RuneScape a viable game and economy for another 10 years or more. True, this has been a subtle seduction of sorts by Jagex ever since spins has come out. It is not the game play and philosophy that existed 10 years ago. Sometimes noble intentions must give way to harsh realities. If many players want to buy gp, have an illegal means to do it without a legal alternative, they'll take it if they believe it to be safe. For now, players have a method to sort of sell and buy gp via bonds. That combined with botwatch seems to make an interesting game. Bonds will just cause more players to turn to RWT as Jagex now endorses real life currency for bonds which sell for coins on the GE. All Jagex did to combat illegal gold sellers is to become the gold seller themselves. Which seems like they fought the wrong battle (they fought the gold farmers, not the reason people turn to gold farmers)... not to mention RS gold on the 3rd party websites is selling for .30$/mil where Jagex gold is .75-1.00$/mil. Surely someone who spends money on Jagex bonds, might see how easy it is, and will be more lenient towards *trying* out a lot better alternative for RWT. I do agree on the giving membership to those who can't use a debit/credit card, I personally been paying for a few of my friends for the past couple of years, only 5-6$ a month, but now I can sell them a bond. However, I feel Jagex just added that in, to give people a reason to buy bonds off the G.E. or from other players. Jagex would lose a lot of pr to sell gold directly, so this is their way of masking it imo.
  9. I'm looking forward to all the reworks and minigame revamps. Construction is my favorite skill, well next to Dungeoneering. I'm only 57 Divination and find the skill tedious for what it offers. Nothing new though just another skill to train. I do hope inventor makes the game more interesting. I wouldn't mind another skill that gives a lot of advantage in combat such as Prayer & Herblore.
  10. A little over 20,000$ (4315 * 5$) worth of bonds have been donated. While it's a good cause for those who donated the bonds. I wonder how many of those bonds were bought off the G.E. from some player trying to make some quick gp. 4315 * 6.5m = 28billion coins worth of bonds. In my opinion making more unbuyable content, such as PoP and Dungeoneering would make players less likely to buy gold, as buying gold wouldn't bring them closer to an unbuyable item. (Yes I know they can still buy gold to help them acquire resources for some of the level 90 PoP skills, and floor selling services for tokens).
  11. Well... I'm a bit late on this whole bond thing. I finally have a weekend off in the past four or five months to seriously play some Runescape. I've been trying to catch up on all the missed updates that are still available. I'm not shocked one bit about Jagex creating bonds, but I'm still very disappointed. I actually kind of lost faith though after discovering bonds today... I was a chronic player 7-10+ hrs/day for the past four or five years (I have about 500 days played). I didn't quit persay, but I joined the military so computer/internet access has been extremely difficult, and non-existent during the training phases. This weekend I decided to come back to my favorite thing to do which is play video games, and well Runescape is my favorite game. Runescape 3 pretty much seems the exact same as Runescape 2 back in March when I left. Just a more customisable interface system really. Well, I suppose the RS Gods have become largely entangled in the game too, but I missed the whole BoL and still need to catch up on all the God related updates. Anyways, on topic, I suppose this did put a severe blow to gold-farmers but essentially their solution to combat the problem was to become the problem. That is how I view it at least. 40% of players purchased gold I did find shocking. I'm not sure how much truth there is to that, but tbh when I think about it I've had a few of my RS friends tell me they bought gold so it could be true. I never agreed to their decision, but eventhough I did play a lot I still understood Runescape is a game. If someone wants to use RL money on a unfair advantage, so be it, I don't think anything less of them as a person. That being said, RWT is still cheating, and if they got banned or stat/bank reset, I wouldn't feel sorry for them. Well I feel banning someone is a bit harsh (for botting/buying gold), but I'm 100% for stat/bank resetting. I traded my friend over 2 bill once, which they never gave back (they were supposed to). So in a way I had my bank reset, but I was able to move forward, so it's not a gamestopper. Actually, it may have been more difficult for someone like me, seeing as I didn't just buy it so it had more sentimental value. I don't think bonds are the solution one bit. They should have focused on non-tradable gameplay imho. PoP/Dungeoneering is a great example. The highest level gear and most of the top end gear is currently buyable. Buyable Lvl 70 GWD/Barrows/Nex/Sirenic/Tectonic/Lvl 90 weapons/Spirit shields/glacor boots/automaton gloves/ganodermic/prayer/herblore/GWD necklaces/fury/rcb Not-Buyable Dg weps&shields/Dom gloves/cape slot items/300 MA rank/PoP armour/charms/cb skills If more of those items were made unbuyable, perhaps people would be less likely to spend RL cash on gp, considering that wouldn't bring them any closer to their perspective item. Obviously some things will need to be buyable or making gp legitimately would be pointless too, but I'd rather have a few expensive buyable items like jewelery, and have armour/weapons obtainable through certain content. If Drygore was untradable, people would still go to KK to have the best melee weapons. There might not be much reason to go back after you get the weapons unless you lose them, but I feel that would be better than buying them off the GE to obtain them. With the exception of 300 MA rank, I found playing through Dom Tower, sending voyages out everyday, and Dungeoneering with friends was a pretty good challenge for the items it offered. Took me a few months to get the PoP armour. Dom Tower took about a day, but then again it's only gloves, and getting Chaotics is no easy task. Even at 120 you're looking at 4-5hrs+ of gameplay. Imagine trying to get multiple chaotics at level 80-100 rates. It's just a bit depressing to come back to the game and see Jagex keep making the same mistakes they've been making, and no change in sight. That being said, if you ignore all the SoF, Solomon, Bond, and other RL$ related schemes, the game is still worth playing. Lol well I don't really like EoC, but at least it doesn't involve my wallet, and Jagex legitimately tried to solve the problems to the old combat system.
  12. Was anyone else hoping for Duel Tournaments to come back? I know they were a restricted-trade era thing, but I really enjoyed them.
  13. If most of top players use warbands for mining, I can easly add that to my time calculator. I've seen Dragonseance and Jake in 'warband pk'.
  14. Looking at the hiscores on the previous page. I wonder how many of them are now 2496 or 2475. I know lot of people quit, but besides some of the really famous old players, always seems like they come back then quit and come back... Repeat. I'll have friends been absent for three, even seven years (lol I suck at deleting people). Come back and bust out like five 99s in a short time span. Here I am been pretty much playing since I started my account and do a few a year lol.
  15. Great update! Lanthus said I still have to get the sword that noob lol
  16. A tip I have for warbands is to use the friend chat warband pk. They are PKers, but you don't have to worry about dying, as they're the strongest force atm. All you need is polypore + batwing. Protect item prayer, for poly. All you risk is batwing top/legs/hood. Definitely worth the easy 75 loot. Funny thing is more and more looters are joining the PK clan, so it will be interesting to see how all of that turns out. Today someone PKed me, luckily I only had 4 loot. Put on some royal and crystal bow joined the clan ran back finished loot. That is how easy it was >.>
  17. Global chat in Guild wars 2 is just in certain locations. Not the whole world. I'd assume Runescape will follow suit.
  18. I can confirm the 3 warbands back2back2back!
  19. Callng that bs. The xp rates sub 80 are like an order of magnitude lower than level 120. It's actually one of slowest skillest at the start in case you forgot. There is a guide on RSOF that explains how to get 1-99 Thieving in 72 hours played. Perhaps 1-99 Dungeoneering would be slower than that? Considering the Thieving methods haven't changed much since 2007, it's understandable why that was the 1st 99 in RS2007 too. On topic: My view is that obtaining Armour should be geared for those who are at the level to wear the armor. So Nex should be built around say a group of level 162s in level 70 gear working towards level 80 armor. I feel perhaps that is why Jagex made a lot of the bosses pretty weak to us players with level 80-90 weapons and gear. Jagex just needs to eventually release level 99 content meant for those of us that are 200 combat.
  20. I'm actually glad they're making God Wars Dungeon bosses instanced. Not because of crashers or anything, but just the fact that hey, level 70 gear should be for those who are around 142 combat (70 offensive + 70 defence) , level 80 gear for those around 162 combat, and the likes. Us level 200 combat people should have access to level 99 gear in my opinion. I suppose Runescape will get there eventually though.
  21. I would like to see either Attack or Strength be a universal skill to the combat triangle. I would like to see combat levels have more affect on damage output, and defence on damage reduction. This would also benefit herblore. Remove the level 80 cap on magic spells and tier them to 90. Release level 90 weapons for Range and Magic. Only problem I see for T90 Armour is that would make port armours rather pointless. Not that they shouldn't eventually be out shined, but many still don't have access to all three sets and those who do have access probably got the armour within the past month or two. I'll admit that I miss the Pre-Eoc uniqueness for items. I would actually support making Superior armour level 90 and the tradable version level 85. Make it so the tradable version can be repaired via coins or port resources or something. I don't think Nex armour being devalued should hold back release of higher tiered armours considering all the dungeoneering melee weapons recently had better alternatives and Dungeoneering isn't too much older than Nex. I'd like to see skills play more of a role in armour than cash or luck. Firemaking gives you the ability to light arrows/swords on fire (it's a fantasy game). Smithing allows you to harden armours or something.. etc.. etc.. Basically... Kill Nex = Torva platebody Torva platebody + 80 Crafting/Smithing = Spiked Torva platebody Torva platebody + 80 Runecrafting = Torva platebody (i) Torva platebody + all 3 = Spiked Torva platebody (i)... Well this is just some of the stuff I'd like to see.
  22. Construction is personally my favorite skill. Gained around 4000 SC points to cut half the cost so I could put more into the POH itself. Construction *imo* was at its height in popularity when house parties were largely popular. This day in age they're pretty much dead besides w31 altars in Yanille. However, the most efficient altars have very few rooms. Portals/altar/amulet of glory. Maybe a lectern (but idk how many people make tabs anymore). Pures used to all the time. I do agree that Construction has lost its flare. I personally stopped hosting house parties around 3 years ago and nowadays just use it for costume room storage. One suggestion I make every now and then is to allow us to show off our houses in f2p worlds. I feel it is too late for that though. Golvellius was right on the mark for the purpose of the skill. It was about personalization. You didn't have to be rich to make a great house. Sure you couldn't have marble furniture. That didn't mean you couldn't be creative. It would be awesome if Jagex gave us the option to move rooms around. Maybe have a 3-layer grid where we can drag and drop rooms. More storage, but not shove in a box storage. Display kind of storage. More trophies, more armour stands, etc... I bet a cape room would be largely popular. You can hang capes up on walls and racks, etc... I agree that Construction has became less popular over the years. There are 1000s of players with 99 Construction, who haven't even decided on building a house. They may just have the few rooms necessary for training the skill. Hopefully Jagex spices up some life into the skill. More functionality and personalization though. Not just more types of rooms.
  23. Seems pointless to add port scores to hi-scores if there is a cap. I understand 200m is a cap for skills, but idk just seems like *completing* the ports and a hiscore is not needed (or there will be like 10,000 people with the same # at the end of the year). I would be in support of no distance cap and distance to be put on hiscores. I would still omit port scores, because then they'd pretty much be a more compact distance score after you do all upgrades/stories/scrolls.
