  1. I thought he had died for a moment there! Then when I saw him post I freaked out somewhat! I never met you in RS anyways, so as long as you continue to post, it doesn't affct me in the slightest  Good for you for kicking the habit though
  2. Er, no it's not...
  3. *Ahem* Yeh srry, I hit the comma key and the decimal point key in the wrong places! As you might have onserved from some of the rest of that post, my keyboard is playing up a little bit at the moment - its one of the newfangled wireless ones that keeps going wrong! Thanks for correcting that And yes, I did quote someone on the diameter of the solar system, I didn't use my own calculations  I dont know what the official figure is, or where it is measured up to. It may be up to the Oort cloud, it may be the twice the diameter of Sednas farthest point from the sun, I don't really know. Anyone have any 'Official' data?
  4. True, I missed a trick there, thanks for pointing that out. And yes, just fractions of a second after the Big bang, the Universe measured into the trillions on the Kelvin scale, today it is just under 3 K. This is because as the Universe expands, so does time, space and matter. Heat is essentially energy, and as E=mc^2, that Energy is being converted to Matter, and the energy spread over a greater volume of space. Thus, the Total amount of Energy in the Universe does not change, (because matter is energy) but the amount of heat, does.
  5. Well said. Again, I am not a racist, but I think Britain has gone 'Mulitculture mad'. In the news at te moment, our Hone Secretary, Jack Straw, is being slated by the Muslim community for asking Muslim women to remove their veils that cover all of heir fac except their eyes. He is being targetted because Muslim leaders are saying that it is part of their culture, not their religion, but their culture, and they should not be expected or even asked to take it off. So howcome then, when Westerners go to Arabian countries, we are expected to cover our faces, wear headscarves and not show our legs. If we do so, it is an arrestable offense. Britain is slowly losing its British heritage - the English people are slowly being oppressed, and we are not allowed to express our culture as freely as the 'minority' groups do. If we try to do so, we are called racist. Personally, I believe tha the Australians have got it right. If you wish to emmigrate to Australia, you have to take a test to see if you really want to become Australian, you have to take on their culture and not try and impose your culture on them. Afterall, it is their country, if you want to go and live in it, you do so by their rules. It is the same as going to going to stay with a friend - you don't try nd say 'well, I'm going to bed at 12 O'clock because that is what time I play Rnescape until' when the rest pof their household usually turns in at 10 O'clock. You don't declare that you want dinner at 5 O'clock sharp when they usually have it later on. If therest of the world observed the Australians I think it would be a much better place.
  6. Actually, if I am right. The solar system spans about twice the size (if not three times the size) of the biggest star we know of, somewhere around 1900 lightyears big. Distances within our solar system are usually measured in SAstronomical Units. 1 AU =the istance from Earth to the Sun = 149 598 000 Km. According to Amelie Saintonge, our Solar System is 100,000 AU's across, making it 14, 959, 800, 000, 000 Km across, that is 14,959 Trillion Kilometres. 1 Lightyear is (3*10^5)*60*60*24*365.25 = 9.467 Trillion Km. 14,959/9.467 = 1,580 Lighyears. so 1900 isn't a bad effort! Antares However is a mere 980 Million Km across. Its diameter is therefore a measly 0.0000655% the diameter of our Solar System. And to whoever said that the universe has been expanding at the speed of light for 14.5 Billion years is actually wrong. No-one really knows how fast the universe is expanding. We can measure the recessional speed of Galaxies by observing their Doppler Shift, and hence the expansion of the Universe to some degree, because this is related to their Red Shift, but because both of these employ the use of the Hubble Constant, of which no-one has a precise value, we don't know exactly how fast the Universe is expanding. We also don't know whether that rate of expansion is increasing or decreasing, because we do not yet know whether we are in a linear, open or closed Universe. If the amount of matter in the Universe is large, it would make sense that after the big bang, the universe would expand for a while, but then begin to contract under its own gravity, to a single point again. However, if the matter in the Universe was not sufficient to bring about a collapse, the universe would continue expanding forever, with the rate of expansion increasing, an open universe. We don't yet know the density of the universe. We think it is not very dense because it is, for the most part, transparent. However, new evidence and research into Galaxies that have solar systems and planets rotating around the galaxies core far faster than they should be, given the distance from the core, is beginning to bring about theories of WIMP's - Weakly Interacting Massive Particles. These massive particles may make up a tremendous amount of the Universe's mass, but as we have not yet discovered any hard evidence for their existance, we just on't know, the evidnce just doesn't add up. The likelihood is that we will never know. As the author of this post has said, Earth is infathomably small compared to the scale of the Universe. There could exist many dimensions that we just don't know about, that affect any number of factors. We are an insignificant speck on Mother Nature's greatest masterpiece, and just as on speck of paint of a canvas cannot possibly view the whole picture, it is likely that we will never view the Universe in its entirety. Thanks to anyone who read this to the end :P
  7. I thought doing that for money was illegal in most parts...
  8. PM it to me!!!
  9. Ah, biting them is old-fashioned (and hard!) I have never bitten my nails, I prefer to get one corner of them when they get to a decent length, and kinda, pick at it with another nail until you get a bit you can get hold of, and then rip it off. It produces a much better and cleaner finish! Its only painful when you get it wrong and rip it too short, then you just gotta avoid lemon juice and orange juice for about a week, or it hurts like hell!
  10. Recently questions have been flooding into the General forum again. Last time this was due to not enough forum users visiting the Help and Advice forum. A solution to this may be having certain users being given a legend status, i.e. their name in a colour, and having those people designated as 'Helpers' If a person needs a question answering urgently, they can PM any helper that is online to get a quick response. Helpers would be selected by Admins as being trustworthy players who have a decent knowledge of the game.
  11. Click on your magic page, and there is a new teleport, right at the beginning, called 'Home teleport'. Click it and see what happens \
  12. Adam007 isn't a Mod, he is a member of TET which is completely different. Could someone enlighten me as to what teamspeak actually is? Is it not just like chat?
  13. Aha! Right, the key fits the hatch in the middle of the workshop. No idea what to do now though :P Going to fly kite, be back later.
  14. Right, go to the place in Elemental Workshop quest, in Seers Village where you go through the odd looking wall. Go down the steps and then follow the code. You get a key but i have no idea what to do with it.
  15. I Kinda liked the orange writing, but I'm glad they have had a rethink on the 'run' option.
  16. The scholars of the Digsite have been cataloguing their library and have stumbled upon another book talking about the strange machinery found underneath Seers' Village. Unable to decipher the technical nature of the book, the scholars invite anyone with experience of this elemental workshop to take up the challenge themselves. Will you follow in the steps of the great metallurgist Vitruvius? Dare you try to rediscover his lost arts, or will you suffer the same fate as his apprentice? New armour and new ways to treat your Elemental ore are on offer to those brave enough to think out this new chapter of history... In other news... In response to feedback from players over the last week, we've adjusted the new interfaces to make them easier to use. In particular, the Run button has been moved to the bottom of the Options interface so that it's more convenient to click. The buttons have also been redesigned to make it more obvious exactly where you can click to toggle them. The stats interface has returned to its old yellow colour since people were having trouble reading the orange version. We've also fixed the bug whereby you could no longer get defence xp while autocasting magic spells. You can now operate teleportation jewellery while you're wearing it! Just right-click on the item and choose the new Operate option. Do bear in mind that you'll have to click through the same "where would you like to go?" options as before, so it won't make it any easier for you to evade pkers. The clickable areas on the spinning wheel interface have been enlarged to make them easier to use.
  17. A complete waste of some perfectly good server space
  18. 670
  19. Don't recognise your name but I see your siggy a lot. 8/10
  20. ROFLMAO!! THAT sir, has just won a place on the 'Top Rated Video's' section of my iPod!
  21. Yup, I have abnormally large and wide fingers, earning me the nickname of 'Spoonfingers' at school. My feet have also been compared to boats as they are pretty big (size 14), and so I am also sometimes refferred to as the Boaty Spoon.
  22. Maturity at a premium :? May I ask if you are P2P or F2P? If you are F2P, then what difference could your quitting possiblymake to Jagex? For goodness sake people, stop with the childish whining. Jagex don't bother updating their graphics - you moan. Jagex do update their graphics - you moan louder. To be honest, anyone that has posted on this topic saying 'OMG, I hate jagex, this update is the worst update ever!', if you have even the smallest urge to quit over this update, please do so, the game will be better without you.
  23. Only recently to be honest, when I surpassed combat level 100.
  24. The examples you gave are completely different circumstances to the one given by the author of this post. By hanging yourself and getting hit by a train, does not endanger the life of anybody else. Driving at 120mph whilst under the influence of drugs, I'm afraid, does.
