  1. Not sure if I like the Harrenhal development this episode...It's official now, Tywin Lannister is one of the biggest fools in Westeros.
  2. Regarding a) I would say so, because if you say "why even bother, I'm determined anyway" is to let the thought of determinism determine you. It will make you apathetic. In any way, I think that for yourself, you have to act as if you have free choice regardless of determinism being true or not. If you don't do that, your life would most likely get pretty miserable. Regarding b) it's one of the reasons I am against a vengeance-based justice system. I believe in punishment to send a message and to uphold the law, not to punish the individual who did something wrong.
  3. Nope. They say the QBD will be released a week after, so it cannot possibly be required for the quest. Besides, it would quite increase the requirements for the quest cape...
  4. I'm sorry but I don't get the purpose of this post...
  5. Well, I'm far from a video making expert as well and until now only have worked with two programs, Sony Vegas(9&10) and Magix Video deluxe(17). They both need some time to get familiar with them, but I think that's the case for any serious editing program that wants to offer more than just the most basic options. Between the two programs, I've found that Sony Vegas was superior with video effects, Magix video had more&easier to access options with audio(Depending on what you want to do, you might want to do the audio in a specific audio editing program though). Overall, I would recommend Sony Vegas. Depending on what you want to do, you can just get trial versions for 30 days ;)

One thing I still wonder about though: Metalbenders are basically just earthbenders, except that they've had some training in using the little scraps of earth inside metal to bend that, right? Shouldn't they realize by now that it would be smarter to go with normal earthbending against an enemy who uses electricity?
  7. Wow -- when you put it that way, it really does make the entire exercise seem even more pointless than it already is ... Well, considering you have to sign up to members *before* June 1, I'm happy they did this announcement or I wouldn't be able to participate...
  8. Well, that's the way it's gonna be anyway from what I understand, so should be fine.
  9. Wasn't it one in 200k for a fair while now already?
  10. The trouble with balancing f2p is it would create an imbalance in the grand scheme of things because the 3 combat types cap off equipment-wise at totally different levels. What really needs to happen is to add remove gears from f2p so they all cap off at the same level region. Yeah exactly and I don't think they'll bother too much with looking at these caps.
  11. Do you get that often?
  12. Don't misunderstand me, I think F2P will get new aspects for combat as well. It only makes sense to make those changes across the board. However, don't expect a good balancing of the combat triangle. Just because P2P is balanced doesn't mean F2P is and what I mean is that Jagex isn't going to put much effort into F2P combat balancing.
  13. I don't think you have to worry about the system being only P2P, this is supposed to be whole rework not just a balance for the whole combat system. F2P will definitely be getting it, just probably not a beta to test it out beforehand. Just think of this as exactly like when Jagex did the graphical rework except for combat instead. Do you really think so? Graphical rework is quite a difference - it takes no work to make it f2p as well(Actuall it would be more work NOT to make it F2p) and it enhances the image of Runescape for new players. Unless it's absolutely unbalanced, a skewed combat system will not immediately chase off new players, and it would mean a lot more work to balance both f2p and p2p.
  14. Well, it's just some cultural thing. Dogs and Cats are usually pets in western society, so eating them would be frowned upon. It's not really different to table manners that differ from country to country etc.
  15. Nothing, obviously (If you believe eating meat is alright)
  16. ...Knowing Jagex, it could go either way. To me it sounds like: -Only members can apply -a small batch of those who registered early can start the beta on June 26 -the rest will be able to try the beta a bit after that. I doubt F2P is included, both from the wording and because this is Jagex...
  17. Just check the top 100 ranks of hunter and see how many bot names are on there... And yes, I'm aware that a bot name isn't enough evidence for it actually being a bot, and I'm not suggesting banning them because of that, but I'm just saying, it's not too unlikely that a fair number of those ARE actually bots...and that's the accounts with the highest experience in that skill in the whole game...
  18. Dangit! I only wanted to resubscribe to membership once I was done with exams...but I'd really like to participate in the beta...
  19. It took me around 15 hours - But that was with a flail, back when they were still maxed at 250 damage and with rather low levels as well. With blisterwood polearm, you'll probably be looking at half that time or even less.
  20. I'd still be worried if they're close enough to read this during normal traffic :P
  21. That's basically the example I covered above. Of course, if you just look at the event of you making this post it appears that you have free will. You had the possibility to argue argainst it further or not to, in order to prove your point. You made a decision, so it's free will, right? I don't think so. See, you made a decision. But why did you reach this particular decision? Because you are the person that you are, which in this exact situation would act as you did. Why are you this particular person? Because of all the experiences in the past, on which you had no influence(besides your own decision, but for every past decision you can again argument the same way). It's not easy to explain what I mean, so I hope you understood that  Basically, where is your free will supposed to come from? Every decision you make depends on your personality. Your personality is something you cannot control, except (seemingly) through your own decision, which however again are dependant on your personality.
  22. And you know...if they're close enough to read the bumper, I'd be worried anyway :P
  23. Well, for me "determined" includes chance. Obviously there's a lot of chance involved in our lives so the future is definitely unpredictable. Interesting, I have not yet heard that stance, but I can't say I understand it. Could you elaborate what you mean? I'll read that tomorrow - not quite awake enough for today :P
  24. At my school, some sites are censored for "education". Not kidding.
  25. He doesn't enjoy it. Or at least, he doesn't enjoy those kinds of killings he's done, I guess he's at least indifferent to normal combat. But he's driven towards his actions. In his own words "It's better to be cruel than to be weak"...
