The Game of Thrones TV series - Season 4
Agreed, this episode was FAR superior to the last (few). And while I'm not one of those violently opposed to sex scenes(After all, the book was pretty graphic as well), the last few were mostly done without a lot of reason or purpose, so they really took up far too much screen time. You could easily have cut out the scene with Joffrey and all of the scenes of Littlefinger in the brothel. Speaking of Littlefinger, am I the only one who is disappointed with his screen adaption? While the actor does a good job, I feel like his script makes him a lot less subtle than he is in the books, down to the point where you can't really believe his role as this kind of master schemer.... I disagree, I think the Joffrey scene was worth it. The show has showed him as a doucebag so far, but you don't hate him in the show at this point nearly as much as you do reading the books. Really? I think the Sansa scene right before it was more than potent enough for that. Sure, the other scene was more disturbing in a way, but what he did to Sansa showed well enough what he is capable of, imo. And tbh, it made me resent him a lot more than the bedroom scene, if only because I am far more attached to Sansa than to Ros or the other girl.

Avatar: The Legend of Korra
Did you not see the epic final episodes of season 3? I like the series so far. I thought how the hell are they going to make nonbenders pose any threat at all but the chi-blockers seem powerful and dangerous. Same goes for the electric stick guys. Not sure why Korra prefers to fight with fire over water though. Well, you have to consider she is very rash, impatient, etc. She probably also wants to take out her enemys as quickly as possible. Fire is the most aggressive element and fits the best here (Which doesn't mean it's the best choice). I see it more as something to represent her personality rather than an objective reason.

What book are you currently reading?
Yeah I would definitely advise against reading books on a computer screen. A kindle is a different thing though. I have always been reluctant to buy one, but I got it as a present for my birthday, and it's definitely cool. Not a full replacement of books - I still love to have a real physical edition - but it is very comfortable to read and comfortable to get books as well - there are also a lot of offers for free or cheap books. Plus a kindle isn't that expensive really. Depends on how much you read if you consider it worth buying though.

Watched episode 4 now...A bit disappointed, the plot feels a little unbelievable here... episode 4 spoiler [hide]The "fight" with Amon didn't really make sense. First of all, why did they let Korra do this in the first place? Yeah, she may be stubborn and all, but it's not impossible to hold her back for one night, which is what I would do as a friend, when she's going to a duel with a guy where you have no idea at all if he's going to stick to the rules, and there's still the very likely chance of failure even if he does. Second, why did Amon do this? Okay, not wanting to harm her because it would set benders on him makes sense I guess, even if I still think he could have ransomed some concessions or something like that. But, if he's going to let her go away, why take the risk of going to the island at all? Just so he can tell Korra: "I have an evil masterplan, muahahaha?". Likewise, he couldn't have known if the other side wouldn't turn up with dozens of benders. This whole thing just seemed a litte bit too set up to be believable...[/hide]

Future Update Discussions
I got 25fps on maximum with Nvidia GeForce 555m on my laptop. Jagex just keeps upping the requirements. Nope, nothing to do with requirements. It's a flaw in the game engine that will be fixed with Optimus, according to Jagex.

The Game of Thrones TV series - Season 4
But Stannis already met Renly? And there was no peach? Unless they deviate a lot from the book, I doubt very much they'll meet again. Stannis didn't give him his ultimatum, which is when the peach speech happens. He did give his ultimatum. I reread it right now because I wasn't sure if I remembered it correctly, but it's definitely the peach scene(without the peach)

What book are you currently reading?
Hmm, I could recommend "the name of the wind" by patrick rothfuss(first book in a trilogy, third one is not published yet) or "the war of the flowers" by tad williams. If you're looking for dystopian novels, there are quite a bunch, though not really of the same style as e.g. the hunger games. There's of course the classics like 1984, Brave new world, etc; Stephen King has also written a few if you're into horror, e.g. the long walk or the running man, which also share the concept of a contest to the death with the hunger games.

Well, I don't know about the spirits giving the power directly to him, but what he said did make sense. The other theory would make sense as well. But I definitely think there is some connection between Amon and the Avatar and it's not just something like him simply being a bit better at chi-bending or something like that.

Rate the previous poster's song!
I don't like it when vocals are extremely drawn out, but apart from that it's a beatiful song and she has an amazing voice - 9/10 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIT6vdjsqsc

The Game of Thrones TV series - Season 4
Ep 4 spoiler You'll get an explanation of sorts in the next episode (If not, the one after that). [spoiler=Book spoiler]Doesn't that happen after Renly's death, though? Either way, there was little to no explanation of it in the TV series. In the book Stannis wanted Storm's End back from the remnants of Renly's supporters with as little bloodshed as possible, here it just seems like Stannis says "Alright, take her to the middle of the ocean, she'll know what to do" :-k It seems like they're assuming that most of their viewers have finished A Clash of Kings by this point, so they aren't bothering to explain any of it. Still, good special effects  [hide] Unless I'm mistaken(been a while since I've read the books), Melisandre summons such a shadow twice. Once to kill Renly, once to end the siege of storm's end. Only...this should be the one that kills renly...yet the scene is the one for conquering storm's end? Wonder why they did this, especially cause anyone who hasn't read the books probably has no clue why she had to go to that cave to birth that demon... [/hide]

The Game of Thrones TV series - Season 4
I don't think that works very well though - you can do it in a book, but on TV...the constant switching between POVs where very few actually happens is getting annoying...plus it leaves out some important aspects while showing others that wouldn't be as important...

The Game of Thrones TV series - Season 4
Yeah, it's obvious that this has to happen in some respect....but they could at least make the episodes last the full hour again, imo, and there is also some stuff they could easily cut. E.g. that Joffrey in his bedroom scene - was that really necessary?

The Game of Thrones TV series - Season 4
Is it just me or do these episodes seem to be a lot shorter(Not just in actual time, but in terms of what happens). I feel like I could sum it up in a few sentences without leaving out anything important...

Security question
Keylogger that also makes a screenshot whenever you click. Since the other 9 numbers always show, you can deduce the pin. At least, that's what I can think of, no idea if this is the actual method used. But he said they deleted it, which shouldn't be possible in less than 72 hours...

Avatar: The Legend of Korra
Did episode 3 only air yesterday? Bit confused as it seems like I haven't watched this for quite a while yet only missed one episode? And yes, Amon is WAY scarier than Ozai. I can only say I'm really happy with the way this series is going, with darker tones and a more serious plot that also makes the villains more than just villains. Aang only found out HOW to take someone's powers away when he was in spirit form while on the Lion Turtle. This brings up an extremely controversy on how Amon is able to. Especially regarding it being an Avatar only ability. IMHO. I think he's just blocking their Chi for a long time. [They are Chi blockers :P]. Though, I don't know how the show will progress now. Considering Korra is on the run from Amon and his gang. I think it's more than just long chi blocking. Amon said he got these powers from the spirits, and there is some sense in that. Usually, it's the avatar that's the bond between normal world and spirit world. It would be quite likely he gets his powers from the spirits. If Amon indeed has such powers, that makes his claim that he got it from the spirits not unlikely. The avatar also is supposed to bring balance to world, and again Amon kind of has a point - there is quite the obvious disparity between benders and non-benders. Now, I don't see how Korra was supposed to do something against this, so I'm not too sure about this "the avatar has failed the world, so the spirits gave me this power", but on the other hand she's been pretty secluded and enjoyed all the advantages that her special status gave her. That doesn't exactly make her the ideal person to resolve those issues. I'm not quite sure what to think about this Amon. On one hand he seems to be quite serious about his powers and I think there's more to this than just some trick...but on the other hand I don't see why the spirits would choose him as an "avatar replacement"
