  1. They're still 700k/hr. Plus prices might rise with less runes coming in through training...

    Done. Same

I'm happy to have this sort of "filler" episode. TLA had a fair share of them as well, and I think they were quite valuable in advancing the characters, something that LOK so far was missing a bit, imo.
  4. I just watched the trailer...and it's just cut together from the cinematic one, basically just some scenes of fighting against the troll jumbled together. No explanation whatsoever, nothing that tells you why this game is good, nothing that builds up a connection to the viewer and over far too quickly. Seriously, this is a *horrible* trailer. It's really, really bad. And now they're paying money to put this on Tv channels >.< TO be fair, thats what the WOW commericals are like. Nothing like the game. *chuck norris* etc. No, the WOW commercials are different. They manage to be decent commercials. They use action stars to market their game as being cool and tough. They show players being proud of their characters. I believe they show actual game footage, but that's besides the point. Hmm that might be part of why I'm not convinced by this trailer. I still think they could have done a way better job though. As said, I'm not complaining about the rs ad being unlike the game. I'm just saying that, imo, it's a really bad commercial that will make few people visit the site. Sigh. Are you always missing the point? They don't show actual gameplay (I'm one of the top fury warriors in the world...I would know) They use famous people and humor and the catchphrase "whats your game" to try and draw people in WOW. No showing raids, no showing PVP. It's not me missing the point, it's you. There's also no need to get aggressive about it. So, once again: The rs ad is a bad commercial (imo). The wow one is at least mediocre. Whether or not it shows gameplay is secondary, I just mentioned it because it's actually more like the game than runescape, at least the graphics are shown...but once again, this is secondary.

  6. Do you really think so? The ad is just some pieces of combat jumbled together, which don't even really make sense to the viewer unless they know the original trailer (e.g. scene of ozan looking behind him, terrified - next thing we see is the Raptor attacking, so you'd assume he is the danger, yet it's actually the troll that you don't really see throughout the whole ad. I have no problem with the trailer being cinematic - but imo, it's just plain bad. Scenes cut together in a way that they seem to have almost no connection. You're right, all the ad has to do is to get people to the site - but will it do that? If you saw such an ad on the tv, would you visit the site? Especially considering that, unlike banner ads on the internet, it's not just a mouseclick away, but viewers have to remember the ad and find it interesting enough to visit the site possibly hours after they've seen the ad. I doubt this trailer can pull that off more than a few lucky times...

Eh, I don't think so. Just because they have it better than elsewhere doesn't mean they're selfish for protesting. Imo, in a country's own interest, it should focus heavily on education (especially if you're in a western country where you can only compete through knowledge, not through cheap production). Debt obviously is a problem, but there would be far better places to save the money.

  9. Well I don't know what it's like in the UK, but here in germany there are literally dozens of MMOs that have ads running on the TV. The first one may have interested people, but (at least for me personally) with all of them running so often, you don't really take them seriously anymore and sure as hell are not interested enough to check it out. And tbh, the Runescape trailer is pretty weak. It has nothing to do with the game(which doesn't *have* to be bad and isn't unusual), but at the same time it by far doesn't use the potential of cinematic trailers to make this game feel epic. I doubt this advert is going to do much.

I'd like to take a second to point out that they (Quebec) have the lowest tuition fees in the country by far. They are like 66% of the fees here (we have the most expensive University here, but I don't go to that one). No sympathy for them whatsoever. Waaa, we will have to pay more than 2 grand a semester! Boo [bleep]ing hoo. Everyone else in Canada is closer to 3.5 Here in 'Murrica we don't pay off our student loans until we're 10 years from death. And then we start on our mortgage payments. 3.5 grand? Wow  ...We pay only 0.5 here(maybe a bit more in dollars)...and that's in one of 16 federal provinces, it's free in the rest of them.
  11. The problem has been fixed for the majority of people, but that doesn't mean that everyone who's still suffering from it has a bad computer. It's still absolutely possible for the same problem to exist on a smaller scale. It would actually be rather surprising if they managed to root that out for all computers at the same time.
  12. That really sounds quite bad; have you tried speeding your computer up in any way? I cleared a few GB of space on my laptop and it ran it a bit faster, prior to this update :L Also, turn off textures, they destroy fps I play on safemode/lowest settings for everything. So that shouldn't be the issue. I'll clean up my laptop a bit but I used to play just fine before the bot nuke, so I would think it was in correlation with the fps issue. Like I said, I definitely have seen some improvement which I am happy about, I just wish it would stop randomly white out on me and the other issues I've ran into. Hopefully with more engine improvements, my fps rate should continue to go up. Don't play on safe mode. It's the worst setting of them all, only to be used if all else fails. If you meant software, you should still try out OpenGL and directX, it's definitely possible that they run better.
  13. I thought that as well. God, I hope not. I've read two different things - Once, that this is not Optimus and just some performance fix and the other time, that this is optimus, but that optimus itself is merely performance fix and providing a base for future anti-bot measures. So in both cases, there are definitely still some anti-bot measures to come, hopefully in the near future from the sounds of it.
  14. The bloom problem is not related to this update however. Or at least, the problem has existed before that - The game can crash if you turn bloom on with AA enabled.
  15. "displayfps" into developers console open the developer console with the ~ key and enter displayfps, like ambler said.
  16. Previous to the update: 10-15 fps on min settings, around 4 on maxed Now: 50 fps on min settings, 30 on maxed  Runescape in HD looks amazing :D

So anyone not agreeing with you is a blind fanboy? Yeah right  Sure, the first time(s) Ty lee had the advantage of surprise. But after that, she didn't, and she still fared fairly well. While she would probably lose to benders of the like of those you named, it would be far from an easy fight. And those were top-notch benders. Korra isn't. She hasn't grown into her role yet. You can call her "idiot with average bending skills" - while it's hyperbole and excludes that she is rather just inexperienced still has some truth. Yes, Korra's bending isn't good. Yes, she could have used better strategies. But you know, considering the world is currently quite stable, it would make for a very boring story if Korra could just breeze through all her enemies because there is no one serious to face her. As for the weak story: Care to explain why it is weak in your eyes? The only real argument I've noticed is that it's not about the fate of the world unlike TLA, and you said I was taking you out of context on that. As for the exaggeration: What exactly would happen if Ozai won? He would've conquered the rest of the world (which wasn't that much left). He would have put benders into prison to work for him. He would generally be your typical oppressor. But apart from that? A lot of people already were under his thumb. Sure it wasn't great for them, but in terms of the actual consequences, they were not *that* big - the general life and society was still intact. If all benders lose their power, society will change drastically. There would be no more power stations, a lot of the inventions people got used to would be worthless. A lot of people would try to revolt, try to gain power. There would be most likely no functioning government. Everything in this world adheres to the fact that you have benders. Removing bending would cause utter chaos. Edit: Just as an example, imagine if we suddenly had no more electric power. Everything that relied on electricity is now useless. Do you realize what would happen? Within weeks, if not days, governments would unable to do something against the chaos. The world of Avatar is similarly dependant on bending (Though not just as extremely as we are on electricity)
  18. INTJ, do very regularly talk in FC and CC, but not that much. Not efficient No trolling.
  19. The court ruling is justified...but useless. As you said, this problem has to be tackled by reforming the old system instead of frantically trying to keep it in place.

Yep, that's a weak story. Went from saving the world to fighting nutjob extremists. Kind of a huge jump in significance. Maybe it's just me. So it's a "weak story" because the immediate destruction of the world isn't at hand? Wow lol - If that's the measure you put to stories, you can't really like a lot of them. Not everything always has to be about the fate of the world, you know. Often those stories without those elements are actually better, because they don't rely on all that fortune-telling and frequent deux-ex-machine kind of events. Besides, if the equalists are successful, it will still be a huge shock for the entire society, possibly more drastic than being conquered by the firenation. As for the chi-bending vs. normal bending - Ty lee was superior in most of the fights in TLA, and she was just one, against benders that were FAR more skilled than Korra.
  21. Hmmm okay, seems like my perspective might be more skewed than I thought. Oh well.
  22. Because you're assuming that Ros is insignificant? It sounds like HBO is turning that character into something more than an extra which could mean all her scenes mean something, as part of her character development. Even without that... Scene with Ros and Littlefinger - remind the TV viewers how ruthless Littlefinger can get Scene with Ros and Joffrey - show just how brutal Sansa's future will be when she gets married to him and that it's not just a front for the rest of the city (pure evil, nothing inside) Scene with Viserys and Dorya - gives some backstory on dragons Scene with Stannis and the Red Lady - gets her pregnant leading to the assassination Scene with Theon and Captain's daughter - some backstory on the culture of the Ironborn They don't make sense because there's a little bit of nudity? Meh. Except that we don't really need 1 and 2. Everyone should've grasped how Littlefinger is by the time that scene rolled around (especially as he is a lot simpler than portrayed in the books, imo) and we know Joffrey is cruel from various scenes (Having sansa being beaten, almost stripping her in front of the entire court, almost killing mycah if nymeria hadn't averted that etc.). I understand the show has to be less subtle and obviously has to cater to those who haven't read the books, but I can't really imagine how someone could enjoy this show if they need that much guidance(e.g. haven't realized until that scene how much of a monster joffrey is)
  23. Like the one with Littlefinger watching the two prostitutes. Yes, you expect there to be sex scenes, there were tons in the books, but when you introduce two characters for the sole purpose of having sex scenes (Including Ros) when you have 600 minutes to tell a story that was 8-900 pages, your priorities are probably a bit skewed. Again, you're looking at this from a reader's perspective Sex scenes are cheaper than building sets for a lot of those short outdoor scenes in those 900 pages. Maybe you haven't realized it yet, but they cut out battles and scenes with dragons and wolves because they cost a lot to make. Especially the CGI involved. This holds true for some of the sex scenes - those that actually advance the story in a meaningful way. E.g. ros has been used to establish how certain characters are, such as theon or pycelle. On the other hand you have scenes like Ros in Littlefinger's brothel or the one with joffrey, where you already have established characters and nothing important happens either. Why include those? The time spent filming them could have been better spent elsewhere.
  24. I think they just aren't used to watching these type of shows from HBO or Showtime. Dexter, the Wire, Sopranos, etc. are great shows with sex scenes. It's not about sex scenes >.> It's about wasting screen time...the sex scenes are just the most prominent part of that
  25. I'm not "hating" on sex scenes. I dislike those sex scenes that are mostly useless to the show apart from showing off boobs, because they clog up screen time...and GOT has precious few of that for all that happens in the story already. Yes, the books had plenty of those, even some that might not have been "needed" - but a book can afford that. A series that has only 600 minutes to go through all the complicated story etc. can't really, not without losing some quality "useful" sex scenes: Dany+Drogo(all of them I think), Cersei+Jaime, those with theon and also Ros+Pycelle Useless: A big portion of those with littlefinger(One might have been needed to explain what's up between him and catelyn, but at the same time I feel like it also skewed this character portrait. The others were downright useless). The joffrey scene as well, him dealing with sansa would work just as well on it's own.
