  1. no, but time is :P
  2. same reason why someone would spend thousand of hours on a game. not sure what the big deal is, it's basically the same thing.
  3. I thought you couldn't buy agility lamps anymore
  4. Still catching up on the posts in this thread, so I apologize if someone answered this for you already. Defense and your dps skills contribute to your combat power differently. The DPS skills are more important than defense, so they need to be increased by a coefficient in order to balance out. I'm not sure if 1.3 is the correct one, but it's better than what we used before. By that, do you mean that attack levels for example are more "potent" than defense levels? Someone with 99 1 1 would have an advantage over someone with 1 1 99? And is this for pre- or post-EoC?
  5. So-- what's the status on all of your resolutions? :)
  6. This really shouldn't be that shocking. They have a very strong track record of overselling and delaying updates.
  7. Between college and post-grad life, I've never met someone who still plays RS. Dozens of people I know have played RS at some point (usually around 2005), but they quit playing in favor of other games like WoW. Nobody ever has anything good to say about RS either, lol
  8. Nobody's denying that it was unbalanced. However, I am arguing that despite how unbalanced it is, people are making mountains out of molehills regarding the impact it had on the game. I've yet to hear a logical argument as to specifically why NMZ was bad for the game.
  9. Anyone who plays League of Legends is probably going to be like, "WTF is this shit" when they see the RS3 combat system lol
  10. Chronozon is not a 1x1 sized monster and blood runes don't spawn with him. Chinning still works in NMZ though.
  11. According to Jagex, they were unaware of how people were training magic in NMZ. They didn't care about the fact that people were able to profitably AFK for 160K magic xp/hour, but they drew the line at obtaining those rates w/ free runes on the bosses which were not meant to provide free runes. So in other words, either the Jmods are a lot dumber than we thought they were, or they're just playing dumb because it's easier than admitting that the poll results were ultimately irrelevant.
  12. Lol I'll have 99 range banked soon from it :D Though I think p pots are crashing now from the update, which sucks because I just spent 10M on prayer potions earlier in the week lol. Oh well, nothing that a couple weeks of MTK can't fix :D
  13. Completely and wholeheartedly agree... Still not gonna start from utter scratch and train my account all the way back up after investing my time in my RS3 account, and I have a feeling that this is the only reason a lot of players stuck with RS3... Maybe I'm just a weirdo, but I enjoyed training an OSRS account from scratch. If I didn't genuinely enjoy questing for barrows gloves, or trying to get a fire cape with shitty stats and gear, or figuring out how to overcome the various challenges of a fresh economy along the way, then I wouldn't have played. It wasn't until after I finished all the quests and got all the equipment I wanted that I realized: the only thing left for me to enjoy was PvP. And I couldn't PvP enjoyably without having 90+ str/mage/range. But the process of hitting those goals is a lot less enjoyable than the process of questing or the process of completing the fight caves. The process is so unenjoyable, in fact, that I would rather not play at all than subject myself to doing something I don't enjoy for hundreds of hours. As much as I love oldschool PvP, sadly I don't love it enough to justify the massive investment required to achieve it. But I have a feeling (especially on these forums) that I'm in the minority when I say that RS is about the journey not the destination. :P
  14. And they are receiving a complete overhaul of the wilderness. Sometimes I wonder why they bother asking for feedback in RS3 when they seem to only adjust in OSRS (major). Must swap moolah... Ironically, right after I posted that, they decided to nerf NMZ which means I probably won't be playing RSOS anymore since I have neither the time nor the patience to train magic "traditionally." :P Other than that, though, I still stand by my point and can't really see any aspects of RS3 which are superior to OSRS. Not even the aspect where Magic can be trained much faster, which is good when you don't have the time nor the patience to do it traditionally? Or did you mean that this is the only aspect of RS3 you find superior to OSRS? Comparing magic (and training) in RS3 to OSRS is comparing apples to oranges in my case. I already have 99 magic in RS3 and I have no incentive to train anything in RS3. If I was level 1 magic in RS3 and it was free and AFK to get 1M magic xp/hour, I still wouldn't train it because I would be wasting my time. There's no reason for me to train magic in RS3, but in OSRS there is a reason for me to train magic (for PvP). I would love to have 99 range, 99 mage, 99 strength, and 45 defense in OSRS because it would allow me to have the most fun doing what I enjoy the most in RS: PvP. However, considering I no longer possess the time nor the patience to achieve that goal, that simply means that I will not be playing OSRS for any reason except to keep my kingdom at 100% approval. The NMZ nerf added a massive amount of time needed to hit that goal, and that is time which I do not possess. So therefore I have basically abandoned that goal because it's definitely not in by best interest to prioritize RS time over RL time. Hope that makes sense.

  16. NMZ mage just got updated-- it no longer provides free runes. Guess I'll just slip back into retirement now since I have neither the time nor the patience to train magic traditionally :P
  17. I can't really think of many ways in which RS3 is superior to OSRS, with the exception of irrelevant things like graphics. The OSRS community seems much more happy and grateful, the Jmods are much more respected and transparent, the updates are consistently well-received, there's plenty of exciting content to look forward to every month without delays, the game is more social and interactive, and everybody has different goals (as opposed to everybody just trying to max and PvM).
  18. Do you have any pics of this awful, awful armor? >_>
  19. No way, Jose. It would've taken 20 hours to go from 61-70 range with knives. With chins, it only took 2 hours. Not sure what ranged lvl is needed to out-DPS smoke barrage. With medium fuse it shouldn't be very high. I didn't realize medium is better than short when I did that trip.
  20. To whom it may concern... At 74-76 magic, a 1 hour (3 ovl trip) with someone else luring: +663,191 NMZ points +161,586 Magic XP +107,836 HP XP -162k GP for luring/boosting -10.5 prayer potions (4) Smoke barrage, protect from melee only, +101 magic attack, +14 prayer At 61-66 range, a 1 hour (3 ovl trip) with someone else luring.* +233,987 NMZ points +203,381 Ranged XP +67,636 HP XP -162k GP for luring/boosting -22.75 prayer potions (4) -1,292 red chinchompas 157.42xp/chin Short fuse, protect from melee and eagle eye, +103 range attack (void), +10 prayer *The lurer was really bad at luring. AFK'd very often and didn't know how to lure properly, so these figures could be much higher.
  21. Worst case scenario, you can always train it the oldschool way! (i.e. alching) That would be the 3rd time having to get 99 mage the oldschool way. No way, Jose :P
  22. collected MTK prematurely to see how many chins I could afford. still had like 2M in the coffers. next collection date is may 29th. previous withdrawal: http://forum.tip.it/topic/317670-old-school-rs-screenshots-videos-and-sounds/page-32?do=findComment&comment=5468672 bought 30k red chins w/ this season's collection money. I think I need around 60k reds for 61-99 range, plus ranger boots because I don't like training combat w/o the best possible gear because I'm weird. so in may I can probably buy the remaining chins and possibly ranger boots too. we'll see. my only concern right now is that something will happen to NMZ in the mean time. still training mage to 99 slowly as I continue to save up for 99 ranged. I'm still worried that if I don't train mage to 99 now, I'll never have the opportunity to hit that goal so conveniently again.
  23. been semi-active recently. finally got around to picking up a rune defender to max out my rune pure gear. got full ranged void too. going to see if 99 ranged is in my budget yet. if not I'll just keep training mage for free and do ranged later as MTK keeps accumulating.
