  1. Probably should hold off on effigies until higher level due to the lamps being worth so much more exp at 85+ Edit Also crafting combination runes is roughly 35-40 k exp/hr as well (steam runes I believe)
  2. This is the problem. I don't in any way shape or form see playing efficiently as a detriment to how much I enjoy playing the game. Saying that 90% of efficient training methods are boring and mindless is 1) a made up statistic and 2) only true for certain individuals, with only yourself being identified thus far as one of them. I don't get upset seeing someone do something inefficient, I simply think "I hope their having fun while they waste their time". And in game I don't address anyone unless addressed first. And how does one measure who is the better player if not by exp rates, gp/hr rates etc? Certainly it can't be who has the most fun, because that is subjective and also isn't dependant on the game. Getting drunk and DGing is certainly going to net me more fun than someone who is sober DGing, but that doesn't make me a better player than him. Sadly for this game grinding=playing, so being a better grinder=being a better player. What posters in H&A are asking for the worst methods? None of them. No one goes into H&A looking to find the 3rd best method of doing something, they want the best. And as said before if they want to know what's the most fun they wont/shouldn't post because no one can tell them what they will have fun with.
  3. Alternatively don't seek to train it. Just use peng points/lamps on it.
  4. Given herbs take 1.5 hours to grow, allowing for about 6 runs a day. Profit for 4 snaps 1 torstol should average about 300-350 k per run profit with a scroll of life and jujus. If you have a scroll of cleansing you can tack on an additional ~50 k per run from making only the snapdragons into unf pots. So ~400 k profit per run 6 runs a day will net you about 2.4 mil a day. Not quite enough to cover your seed expenses but at ~4.5 k exp/run you'll tack on another 27 k exp a day or 189 k exp for that week while cutting your expenses (if you use the profit to cover losses from tree seeds) down to 700 k per day, which is easily made up through anything you can do for money making. To further up your rates I believe only vinesweeper and livid farm are your additional options outside of allotment farming for watermelons. Both are about 30 k exp/hr. I don't do allotments so I don't have exp/run for those. Cheers.
  5. The answer to that depends entirely on how you value your time and what you consider to be decent money. If you would rather know aproximate gp/hr or kills/hr figures it would be easier to answer.
  6. Wow, lots of replys. On the topic of the H&A section I'm not endorsing the people who troll with efficient advise. Im advocating for those of us who get trolled and lumped in with them for posting efficient advise. At the mod posts earlier (mobile phone ftw) yes H&A should be open to a variety of advice. It should also be a place where better advice is valued over worse advice. When piece of advice A is given and piece of advice B, which is better, is posted and piece of advice A is defended as if it were in fact better when its been proven that it isn't then it is trolling. If A is defended as being more fun then fine, the discussion is over but the idea that all advice should be held as equally valuable is just silly. For instance the fastest way to get money is RWT but that advice should never be given in a money making advice thread. Hyperbole yes but it makes my point. Again, there are people who troll and when asked where can I cut yews will say go kill frosts. But those of us who list all the locations and then note that killing frosts to buy yews after with the cash shouldn't be trolled for providing an efficient alternative in addition to the answer to his question.
  7. Then do it, you have the best of both worlds. @levon, minor quibling here but fastest =/= most efficient. Creating demon thrones would in theory be great exp/hr for construction, but the cost:benefit ratio is rediculously low and thus inefficient. Edit My goal for this dicussion is for both sides to understand each other so that we can avoid these stupid conflicts. Meaning hopefully once it is understood that we are striving for efficiency for the purpose of helping people that we wont be insulted for telling people how to utilize what we've learned. So we can avoid appearing to insult peoples intelligence and they can cease seeing us as elitist jerks. We all play this game for fun, and playing efficiently can either be fun or save you time so you can spend it doing things that are fun.
  8. At pulli, again you have the definition of efficiency wrong. A persons inability to use the most efficient methods does not mean that the methods they can do are the most efficient. Classic example is brett favres throwing mechanic. Nothing about it is proper in terms of efficient movement from a sports performance stand point, but he saw great success with it (and had fun), he would however been even better had he been trained to throw correctly. We arent calling them a moron, if someone wants to use an SGS that's their choice. If they want to believe that there arent better cheaper alternatives for spec weapons, healing, and doing the most damage that makes them wrong. If someone doesn't want to use a fury because of the pricetag again that is their choice. If they want to prioritze which upgrades are worth getting in order and they get bandos tassets before a fury then they made the wrong choice. Again someones choices =/= the person. Just because you're making a choice that isn't smart and we tell you so doesn't mean we are calling you dumb. It means you are either A) misinformed/underinformed or B) you don't care.
  9. People bring their rapiers for Nex's adds. They bring a maul for actually attacking Nex.
  10. So the question is does giving up soul split for the "minor" dip you get while flashing justify the small boost you get from piety and the big boost you get from eagle eye/rigour. Probably very subjective to how good you are at avoiding damage. And of course for bosses where you would leave turmoil on the whole time for the full boost to take effect that's not an issue.
  11. This is efficiencyscape, if you want fun go try skydiving on crack. Just because we tell you you bought a worthless weapon doesn't make us trolls, trolling is providing blatant misinformation or arguments for the sole purpose of getting a rise out of someone. We could care less if you are upset by the fact that your godsword is a piece of cabbage, we are simply providing the best information possible. Sell your godsword regardless of how much you like it. If you're so strapped for cash that you had to break your bank for it you're better off with the cheaper better alternative which can be used to make you more money/train faster and buying a godsword for aesthetic purposes once money is no longer an issue. Also, berserker ring comes before buying a fury. Much better to use your time dungeoneering with herb runs every 1.5 hours. Do snapdragons, the average profit per run better than toadflax hands down. Get a scroll of life and cleansing in that order so that you can maximise profits (seeds back and making snap unf pots for an extra ~50 k/run). If you're doing coal and maples its more like 2-3 mil a week pending luck with seeds. Putting in 1.35 mil will take you 7 days exactly so put your starting money in at midnight on friday night and restock/build up your rep again every saturday from then on.
  12. I doubt you were told to sod off, more likely you were repeatedly asking for floors that no keyers could do because they had already done them. Hang out in the clan chat while doing your c1 rushes through F25, then do C6 small/med to 30. By the time you finish that you should have seen an advertisement for floors 30-35 large, and since it doesn't matter which order you do them in leave your solo floors and go join them. After that finish C1ing all your remaining floors. Lather rinse repeat. I get my floors 30+ done every time with DGS and im the same level as you...
  13. Sag body is only really worth it if you're dps and have a hex bound. Otherwise the plate allows for much better protection from all three with prot/deflect mage. I haven't heard anything about using normal prayers for hexing, but piet is definitely not[/] "just as good" as turmoil. Not only do you lose soul split which makes food much less of a bother but the boost turmoil gives to str over piety's boost alone makes it better... Unhooding isn't an issue, i sometimes do it if I've got food/full prayer and a team mate is about to die from being piled and I don't have a bn. And the times where you want to keep the hood will save more than enough time to justify keeping it even if you unhood often.
  14. Real World Trading would be the fastest. /endsarcasm Mobile phone ftw so I can't see your stats if they are in your sig. Nexing would be the best MHing gp/hr on average (over 10 mil an hour last time I checked...) combine that with flipping, herb runs when your nex team isn't on and frosties and you'll have it in no time.
  15. Define properly pl0x. Herb runs between slayer tasks guarantees that you are making money even while using piety/turmoil with zero prayer bonus. Not to mention herb runs are fun! ;)
  16. If they are the cheapest gp/exp then sure, make them. If not then no, it would be better to do the cheapest gp/exp potion and then buy your super sets once you get to making extremes because the finished potion is less then the ingredients.
  17. Rule of thumb. Take whatever golvellius says and do the exact opposite and you have good advice. Not sure if anyone still has links to grimy's spreadsheets since the AoW thread got trashed. Either way just calc the gp/exp yourself. Takes like 10 seconds. Also for future reference the search bar up top will let you avoid posting a topic that already has your same question.
  18. No...just no. At level 65 your best options are Red Salamanders, Penguins, and the Falconry if you have a boncrusher and can utilize mousekeys to drop. All three of these are out dated as soon as you hit level 70 where you should switch to common Jadinkos in Herblore Habitat. After that follow the guide in the AoW as to the best leveling strategies.
  19. When I was doing grenwall hunting (been 6 months so i don't know the prices of grenwall spikes atm) scentless pots were the difference between 1.2 mil per hour profit and 1.7 mil per hour, taking the capture rate from~ 35-40% to about 65-70%. Probably the only place where they are worth using.
  20. Just check grimys spreadsheets in the AoW, it has the %return for each option for workers. As of right now maples are number one, coal is number two. And 10 on maples isn't worse than 9 due to the increase price in maple logs bringing in double per week than the crushed nests.
  21. Don't make the supers you're going to make into extremes unless they are the cheapest gp/exp, otherwise its better (cheaper) to buy them once you're making extremes.
  22. Mining, farming, scentless if you have a fetish for grenwall hunting (3 of them will last exactly one fruit bat), and woodcutting is ok if you do teaks.
  23. Whip on controlled to max stats is slower than using a d scim for str first and then also using a d scim for training attack second and defense third. In other words never train with a whip on controlled.
  24. Nope At max stats you will get a+ 26 boost. This boost "refreshes" every 15 seconds. So you can effectively brew without losing stats if you time it correctly. After the 5 minutes is up the entire boost is gone and you get refunded the 500 lp you lost when you first drank the dose.
