@Viv, Well the problem with only cancelling abbies and ice wyrms, and blocking two other tasks, your expected value of slayer points goes negative. So for you, since you just said you had like 13k slayer points, this might be worth while. But My optimal task list does go under three goals/assumptions. 1. least amount of time to 200m all skills 2. money making takes 0 time 3. E(slayer points) must be positive. The reason for the third condition is that if I assume you have slayer points then it would be optimal to cancel everything, but black demons. I assume because he enjoys those monster. I have been told that Telmo isn't too concerned with efficiency, but since I have never spoken to him I don't really want to assume either of those as fact. My model says he will lose about 600 hours doing his task list, but he may very well be willing forgo those hours to do tasks he enjoys. One thing my model also doesn't take in to account is the time to get to each of the tasks. I can see that all of Telmo's tasks are all pretty easy to get to, while from my list tdogs, kalphites, and squahs are all relatively hard to get to.

Dags are a good task, but they are at the lower end of the "good" tasks. So if you had extra points I would suggest cancelling them or Tdogs. But I would wait until you are closer to your slayer xp goal, before you start spending lots of points, just in case you hit a horrible streak. Abbys, Gargs, and Nechs are all pretty bad tasks, in terms to time to 200m all skills. For profit and charms, abbies and nechs are pretty good. Abbies are the most frequently assigned task and they aren't good enough to "do," so to save slayer points it is best to block them. I have a feeling that gargs and nechs should be blocked as well, but according to my frequency data, they aren't assigned as much as the other 6 blocked tasks. Once I get more frequency data I will make sure to update the optimal block list. As for doing gargs and nechs, you could do both every so often for points. They will decrease the optimal function though. Nechs hurt less than gargs, so if you are planning on doing them for points, do Nechs over gargs. As for ice wyrms I think the reason they are to be left out is because they are only good for effigies and slayer xp. They are assigned so frequently that you will end up doing something like 180k of them over 185m slayer xp. So if you are to block them, you will get much more of the frequently assigned tasks that you still "do" which are better tasks. So when they are blocked they end up increasing the amount of black drags and demons... etc. that you do, thus maximizing the time function. Of course I could have bad data, so I have them listed at 160 kills per hour, is that fact? Because if that is dramatically more then they may be a worth while task. Also remember this is not a guide, the optimal task list is just something that can be produced from this model. People should think of it more as a tool for them to decide what tasks they want to do. I know the excel sheet is very messy to look at, but that is still because it's a beta. There are still some things that I want to change/add, so once I do that I will make it more user friendly. So if you are not rich enough to pass up whip drops, or just plan don't want to. You can certainly do abbies, it is not like you would be playing the game wrong. lol. This is because of how frequently they are assigned instead of doing 0 abbies, you will have to kill around 255k of them. That is 100k more than any other NPC. However with a drop rate of 1/512, that means you will get about 498 whips. At 1.2m each that is 597,600,000 gp. So since my model does not account for profit. Can you make 600m in 400 hours? 1.5m per hour? If not, then abbies are worth doing. That is one big reason, why my model is not a guide, but a tool. My "Optimal task list" may not be optimal for everyone, especially because it doesn't include a "fun factor." It is a video game do what you enjoy. There is no reason to listen to me.

Thanks guys, Another note about the task list. The expected value of slayer points each time you roll for a task is only about 1, so while this is statistically sustainable, in practice it won't work. You will have to do a few blue drag, jad, waterfiends... really any task that you cancel to get some extra points when you hit a bad luck streak and have to cancel several tasks in a row. This will inevitably happen, so if you plan on using this task list I would pick a few tasks that are cancelled that you enjoy doing. That way you will be prepared for when you see your slay points dipping. You don't want to get stuck doing a Mage task or something because you ran out of points.

Some people might know that I have been working on a spreadsheet that works as a model for slayer, so you can make decisions about what tasks you want to do. This is the newest version. It isn't really a guide, just a tool for you to use to make decisions about what tasks you want to do. http://www.mediafire.com/?ulotax3wsmxxrxq I have tried to work on what the optimal task list would be and I have made some progress. My ranking system used to be an indexing formula created by a friend of mine, but I have since change that. I now use the simple formula of (skilling hours - hours slaying) This further breaks down to (hours saved from effigies + hours saved from charms + hours saved from prayer) - (Hours spent slaying) The task list that maximizes this function will be the optimal task list, in terms of getting 200m all skills in the least amount of time. Based on that formula, the best score I have received is -414.64 hours. This basically means that you will only spend 414.64 hours actually slaying. Even those over this 185m slaying xp it will take you 3596.32 hours to maxed, the time saved from all of the effigies, charms, and bonecrusher, will make up for 3181 hours of skilling, thus you only spend 414.64 of those 3596.32 actually slaying. Anomilies in the task list that I notice: - Ice strikewryms, they seem to be a quite popular task, so it seems a little odd that it would be optimal to block them. Though they don't have great charm drop rates, they provide no prayer xp, they do have decent effigies, but since they are assigned so often it is better to block them. So I was wrong, but one can hope. Tezz has reached 2.3b xp and has gone back dungeoneering and fletching after his brief stint with magic. He should get 200m dungeon in the next few days. Then we will see if he plans to go all the way with fming and fletcing or if he plans to working on something else. This isn't really the place to post this, but for the first maxed skiller. Magnus (pure kq pax) after maxing cooking and dungeon, he is going through thieving at a pretty quick rate. If he merchants he certainly has the best chance at being the first maxed skiller. though he has a LONG way to go.

While he was the first to get 200m xp in any skill. I think people knew that xp the cap would either be 200m or 214,748,364.7 People knew that Jagex used 32 bit and the largest number 32 bit can store is 2,147,483,647, which people confirmed with max cash way before Neo got 200m fletching. And since xp in stored in tenths you have to divide 2,147,483,647 by ten to get the max xp that can be stored. Obviously jagex manually reduced the cap to 200m just for cleanliness sake. On another note obviously jagex had to change the way xp was stored as players approached 2,147,483,647 total xp. So they could certainly raise the max xp cap in individual skills. Riot in Fally.

Tezz has stopped 5.5m short of 200m dungeon and done 260k mage xp. I am a genius if: he is saving that 5.5m worth of tokens and is going to burst rock lobs for 200m sum and go for a record day with 78m worth of sum and 5.5m worth of tokens. I am a [wagon] if: he just played a few rounds of castlewars power barraging.

Suomi has reached 50m HP today after a 1.7m slayer day. He should get another 2 skills over 50m relatively soon with range and herblore. Foot gained xp in literally every skill today. He did some slayer, used effigies, did some dungeoneering, and did that new farming D&D for a few hours. Gaining a solid 3m in the process. Telmo did a 3m hunter day. Tg has moved to Herblore after maxing crafting and is going quick. Elias is switching back and forth between Herb and prayer. Gaining about 500k herb and 7m prayer. Tezz is 12m from maxing Dungeon, he must be close with the saved tokens. However, he didn't gain any dungeon xp today, but he did get 5m Fming xp.

Tg maxed crafting yesterday I think and has now started in on herblore it looks like. He has also done some smithing. I think he will be the next to enter the top15. Sumoi is still cracking out slayer, around 1m today, but he hasn't used any of the effigies, so either he had an unlucky day or we could expect another 300-400k slayer xp real quickly. Telmo has reached 60m hunter and is still going strong. Elvis just dumped a bunch of effigies getting 1m RC xp. Drumgun has been fishing for almost a month now. He could also be doing some SW, but it is hard to know since he won't be gaining any combat xp if he is. I did a quick calc and he has probably earned around 50m-80m gp from fishing depending on whether he buys the living minerals or mines them him self. That is over about 16.4m fishing xp, so even if he does the next 150m fishing xp there he will make around 600m+ so that certainly won't get him 200m prayer depending on what he has banked. This is all speculating that he is actually fishing rocktails and not something else. I think he is also fletching broad bolts which, last I checked, profit slightly, so that could be a few more million gp. So I am not sure what to expect from him, but either at the end of this year or summer at the earliest. I hope to see him pull out another record. Foot is currently on a staggering 34m hunter weekly record. More impressive is the fact that this is also his monthly record right now, so he is on track to crush the monthly record if he continues at pace. Aasiwat has been doing some herb, smithing, and the usual farming runs. The king of 100m skills could get another 3 relatively quickly with prayer, herb, and summoning, depending on what his plans for the future are.

I figured as much. Tezz will probably spend all that and then some on bursts and summoning seconds, but he will make a decent amount back if he sells most of his yaks, unis, and any extra titans that he doesn't need to use while chinning. Then he will have to tackle some money making to get enough for prayer and the other buyables. Maybe he will range TD/frosts instead of chinning.

Certainately were a few that people knew about but didnt know they were the best. e.g. pines Edit: We discovered C2 pretty much as soon as it became possible to fish that fast, c2 fishing was no good when dung was released Figure out how to solo Bandos 30 times in an hour and bam, effigies as fast as crawlers with profit.

People don't seem to understand that the calc is for any possibility. All combinations of maxed and unmaxed skills. So what would be the time left if a player had 200m all skills except for fletching and magic? does that mean that they suddenly have 200m all skills because fletching and mage are 0 time spent? No. Thus the calc needs to have the max fletching xp/h while only doing fletching, the same for mage, smithing, fming... and all of the other skills that you get "free" xp in. Thai also needs to know how much fletching/mage/ whatever xp you can get per hour of doing another skill at full speed. So if you already have 200m WCing and you still need 100m fletching xp, people are saying do it during hunter. This may be a theoretical possibly (yes, no one will ever use it, but that is not the point.) But say you have 150m hunter xp already. That 50m hunter might not be enough time to get another 100m fletching xp. This is why Thai needs the fletching xp/h while Hunting so that the calc can check if you have enough hunter xp left to max fletching with out doing it by its self. If that 50m hunter is not enough then we go back to the original scenario where you need to do some fletching by its self. This is how it works currently with WCing, he couldn't include the other skills as possibilities because he doesn't know the fletching xp/h while doing those skills. The calc is built to handle any and all scenarios. People stop talking unless you have look through the functions in the calculator to understand how it actually works. If you just looked and read that the xp/h of fletching was 1m, you are helping no one and making your self look foolish. However getting the correct xp/h is some Thai and I certainly will accept any and all help with, but if you don't understand how the calculator works stop trying to correct Thai on it. He built it, he knows.

things wrong in that spreadsheet: Magic Xp rate is infinite because you do NOT need to waste time training Magic, not 400k. Cooking Xp rate is 720k, not 700k. Construction Xp rate is 800k, not 750k. Prayer Xp rate is 950k, not 1000k. Fletch Xp rate is infinite because you do NOT need to waste time training Fletch, not 1000k. The sheet is designed to work with any combination of stats, thus people with 200m wcing will not get free fletching xp, so the fletching xp/h is needed. If however you have enough time to get 200m fletching before maxing WCing the function will know that and you will do 0 hours of fletching. The same holds true for magic, so those two rates are needed. As for the other xp/h's you can squabble over that.

I agree with Suomi and Telmomarques, but I don't agree at all with Drumgun. He has so much disadvantages, most notably Slayer, and more importantly he has said multiple times that he doesn't plan at all on getting 200m in all skills. I would probably Elias in 3rd (who nobody seems to talk about, despite langer constantly pointing him out as an underrated player), or maybe Tezz. I think suomi, telmo, and Elias are good picks. Frankly I still think Aasiwat will do it too even though he says he won't, nothing wrong with a little blind hope. He is in great position to do it, he has a 100m lead on Jd and he can still get 150m prayer and 150m herb quickly if he has the cash; also dungeon if it comes out with an update to make him enjoy it. As for Tezz I think he has a pretty good shot at it, but we will know more once we see what he does after 200m dungeon which will be in about 10m xp assuming he has points saved from level 120. I'd like to see him chin range and barrage the rest of his charms. But it has not been mentioned what kind of cash pile he is sitting on, but if he has a ton of cash he is sitting on a "quick" 1bil xp. Dapledo is also moving up with thieving probably going for 100m which seems to be a goal of his, like his other skills all at 70m.

Just curious what is the xp/h at Rocktails including banking? About 42k/h realistically? Just trying to get a feeling at what rate our resident sleeping giant is getting cash. Should should give us a good idea of when he will do a buyable. I suspect that he will do prayer first because of his "200ms in a row" goal this would seem logical. Also it is the most expensive of the three, so raising the lesser amounts for firemaking and crafting after might seem easier. However, he could certainly see it as going from cheapest to most expensive. This is also all just conjecture and long winded at this point. So please answer my first question.

Elias just flew through 20m prayer xp and is now level 120. It seemed as though he was going to do that with herb for a bit, but then he moved on to prayer, so I suspect he is waiting for supplies to buy for 120 herb, but that is just a hunch. I think foot could become a contender in the distant future seeing as he comes up with, or at least demos, a lot of the optimal training methods, but I suppose it all has to do with what his goals are. Suomi is still slaying away working on another 1m+ day. He also beat chilly's monthly slayer record by 2m and he didn't have 400+ effigies saved up. Pretty impressive. Also his 8m weekly record is probably pretty close to max for a week with out saving up points/effiges. Tezz is still fletching/fming while waiting for teams at dugeon. And Telmo is closing in on 50m hunter.

Tezz is also training FMing and that will block the cook/fm combo. He doesn't have any slayer left to do so he could not get any effigies maxing out range/mage, if he plans to chin range and do rock lobs for mage and the rest of summoning. But depending on how he plans to get the rest of the charms for sum he might get more effigies.

Mini update: Elias is still powering through construction, he is up to 132m. He has Thieving maxed though, so it will be interesting to see if he stops soon to leave room for effigies from slayer. Tg, one of the soon to be top15, is closing in on 200m crafting. Tezz is almost 100m firemaking and posting some big gains in Dungeon. Suomi posted a huge 1.4m slayer day, about 500k from 100m strength. Telmo is going all out of Hunter, just got 31m. Skiller703 is still working on 200m fletching, 6.8m away, He is also still hunting effigies. Dapledo, after getting 279xp from 100m cons, he moved on to thieving to get another skill over 70m, which seems to a goal of his.

He mostly follows Vex's effigy slayer list that vex posted in his effigyscape thread, but sumoi also does other tasks that he "feels like doing." So those tasks are probably some combination of profit, effigies, and slayer points. He probably doesn't worry too much about charms since he will have a lot of melee xp left are 200m slayer. Those task lists numbers were grossly inaccurate. The NPCs were correct for the most part with the maximum lists. But the optimal list was far off. I have made several changes to the model since then and have had some help from people over on Aasiwat's forums with the data. So far I have 103 of Viv's tasks and 198 of Elessar's task with no blocks, but this sample size is still too small to accurately predict the probability of assignment. My formulas for calculating the expected number of each NPC killed are solid, but the problem comes down to the data. Since I don't play, I can't test my self and that means I rely on others so the going is slow. As of now there isn't much I can do. I will edit the look of the model and make it user friendly so that people wondering about what tasks they want to do can play around with it, but the out put numbers will still be scaled quite far off until the probability of assignment becomes more accurate through larger samples. I dont understand the no blocking why not still cancel just record the tasks u cancel it wouldnt be any different then doing the task then getting new 1 afterword to just figure out the frequency of getting tasks assigned or w/e just write down each slayer monster kuradel can assign u and write the number +1 everytime she assigns that task weather u cancel it or not so she assigns ice strykes put 1 next to it she assigns that again but a 2 next to it and erase the 1 regardless of if u do it or not You can cancel tasks. You just can't have anything blocked or not unlocked through quests or points. This makes it so every one of the 30 tasks has the chance to be assigned. Now if you had a bunch of slayer points saved up you could get the frequencies by just cancelling every task assigned to you and recording the number times you were assigned each mob. There is no need to actually do the tasks to get the frequencies, you just can't have anything blocked. However, I am pretty sure that no one would want to just waste their slayer points, so you could always do what Viv so graciously did for us, by only doing the tasks you want to and cancelling everything else. Record all of the tasks whether you do or cancel them and that will still get the frequencies just fine.

So I got new info on Kalphites and I corrected some other information and have recalculated all of the optimal slayer lists. So here they are again. I hope he saves as many as possible because I want to see massive gains. That's always the most fun. He'd have to do Crafting, Summoning ---- what else has he maxed besides Agility/RC? I can never remember what each guy has done except the most impressive ones... First off he is using his effigies as he gets them. How do you think he got 700k slayer xp, 140k WCing xp, 185k Fming xp, 300k Farming, 200k RC, and 175k Con xp in less than 4 hours? It seems that he saves up about a days worth and then just dumps them all at once at the end of the day to not waste time during the tasks. He has to use the effigies on crafting and Farming, other than that he uses the effigies on the slower skills except for herb/con because he is broke. He doesn't have RC maxed. He currently has 8 200ms with Mage, Cooking, Fletching, Fishing, Smithing, Mining, Agility and Dungeon.
