"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
So my friend is in quite the pickle. Him and his girlfriend have been fighting this entire weekend. About shit i'm not 100% sure of. But as far as i could make out, she's been talking to this guy on whatsapp a lot. Like a lot. It's nothing weird, he was just asking her relationship advice. He's engaged to get married to a girl he's never met, and he wanted advice. Or something like that. Apparently my friend went through her phone, because he suspected something. He found their message log (this is how he knows about it). She sent him 3 pictures of herself. Again, nothing crazy, just pictures showing the guy her different hairstyles over the past few months. But either way, i personally find it quite inappropriate to do what she was doing while you're in a relationship. So last night we went out for a few drinks. My, my girlfriend, him and his girlfriend. She got a bit drunk and started talking to my girlfriend about her and her boyfriend. She was telling her about how she would never have the passion for him that she had for her ex. But he takes good care of her, and hes a good provider. And she loves that about him. She said something along the lines of "When we're in bed together the fact that he takes care of me so well turns me on. Security is a big thing to me". Something like that, i'm not 100% sure about what exactly she said. Now she's known to say and do a few stupid things when she's drunk. So i told my friend that personally i wouldn't react on it straight away, i'd "confront" her about what she said first. Try and find out exactly what's going on. But chances are that's how she really feels. In which case it's probably in his best interest to break up with her. She's not going to leave him, because he's a good provider. But he might have to live with knowing she's never going to love him the way he loves her. Or maybe, eventually, she might. But is he willing to take that sort of risk? What would you guys do in a situation like this? I left out a lot of detail, just because i don't know the story 100%, but this is more or less the gist.

Diablo III
Started up a HC Crusader yesterday. Just about done with Act 2, sitting at level 45. It's fun so far. Nothing special though. I assume once i start doing Torments the real challenge will start.

Few months ago there was huge buzz about the working/living conditions of the hard/manual labour workers. Builders specifically. Apparently the UN came in and told certain companies to change what was wrong, and if changes weren't made further steps would be taken (against them and against the country). Things went "better" for while, but soon as the focus was shifted only slightly, things went back to normal. There have been various threats to move/take away to WC, but there are some complications. As far as i know, unless it's taken away because of corruption, FIFA will have to compensate Qatar for the money they have spent so far. Being the richest country in the world, money obviously hasn't been a problem thus far, and they have been spending a lot building new facilities and improving old ones. If i remember correctly they were budgeting for ~$2b US. I'm not sure how much of that has already been spent, but i can assure you that it's more than FIFA can compensate for. And Qatar will most likely do whatever they have to, and pay who ever they have to, in order to keep the WC here. There's still 6 years to go, but with every day that goes by more money is spent and taking away the WC becomes more and more impossible. I'm pretty sure many of the people involved know that. So either they find some sort of corruption claim (which won't be hard at all) or they suffer in silence. It's sad. Living standards for lower-paid workers are really bad. We actually had a "labour camp" (that's what they're referred to here) down the road from us. I wouldn't let my dog spend a night there. And the employees really can't do anything about it either. Even on their ~$300 a month salary, they're earning more than they would back in their home countries. On top of that, with the sponsorship program here, if you anger the wrong people your VISA gets canceled and you're on the next flight out of here. Either you become a [bleep] to feed your family, forget you have any values, become crab shit but at least make some decent money. Or you could raise your voice and be on the next flight out of here. I'm not sure i remember this correctly, but 2 or 3 months ago 2 British-Nepali guys went missing for raising there voices about human rights. I'm probably a bit over-dramatic, but this is pretty much how i hear things and how i've seen things.

That is just sickening. :\ Seriously, never visiting your area if kids can go about committing manslaughter on reckless charges and get nothing more then a slap. tbh I don't know why anyone would visit any middle eastern country. Because they have an extremely rich and interesting culture? Because the roots of three of the most prominent religions in the world trade back to the area? Because people might want to further the understanding of a region that has had immense impacts on the Western world in the past 50+ years, because of our habit of imperialism? That's a really awful way to dismiss an entire culture. Replying to these posts a bit late, i've been lazy to type something up. But Qatar isn't a tourist country. Anyone that comes here for holiday hoping to have a rich and fulfilling experience is a complete and utter moron. On top of that, the weather is terrible 90% of the year, the roads are overpopulated and it can take you anywhere from 5 minutes to half an hour to travel 5 kilometers. There's a clear and distinct discrimination in terms of race and class. Indians (this includes Pakistani, Sri Lankan, Bangladeshi, etc) are 3rd class citizens. This is the same for Filipinos, Malaysians, Chinese, Koreans, etc. Basically If you're Saudi, Qatari, Emirati, Palestinian and Lebanese you're alright. White people for the most part are alright too. Anything else and you're trash. You can be in the exact same profession as an Arab/White, but you're going to get at least 50% less paycheck. Many companies will try to employ Indians exclusively because they can pay them less. I remember when my mom quit her job a few weeks ago, the guy that replaces her was offered half her salary, half her perks, and his job-responsibilities were increased. My Mom and my girlfriend's mom were in the exact same positions in sister-companies. My mom's paycheck was just over twice as much. Most Qataris have different rules/laws that apply to them too. Many of these laws even appear on paper. There's clear favoritism. There's absolutely no reason for people to come here for anything other than business. Most people who decide to live here usually earn double or triple than they would in their home countries. And most people are fully aware of what they'll have to give up. This is pretty much just a pit-stop for most people anyway. Work here for 5 or 10 years, make bank, don't have to pay taxes, retire early. That said, 2022 is going to be an interesting experience. Not only for the people living here, but the people planning on visiting. I can't see much changing by then.

Today...
Heard a gut-wrenching story today. Apparently last week some time, there was a rather bad car accident near where my girlfriend lives. An 18 year old was speeding in his Land Cruiser and crashed into a stationary car parked on the side of the road. This specific part of the road has a 80km/h limit, but they're saying he was going well over 140km/h. Anyway, the car parked on the side of the road had 5 people in it, and 1 person still getting in. The Toyota crashed into it, the girl still getting in was flung away from the car as it exploded on impact. The girl survived, with serious injuries. The 5 occupants all burnt to death. The fire was of such intensity that all 5 occupants were dead within minutes and burnt so badly they had to be identified by dental records. The 18 year old who caused the accident got away with minor injuries. The kid that caused the accident is a local, and if the past has been any indication, he's going to get away with nothing more than a slap on the wrist assuming he's from the right family. I think the fact that the victims were Filipino also makes it "less of a serious incident" because i doubt their embassy is going to fight too hard. It's kind of sickening.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Do you like yourself? Give me 5 things you like about yourself? Sorry if this reply seems harsh/stupid, but it sounds to me like you might have some psychological problems and that you need to learn to love yourself first.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
That's not really a good reason to want a girlfriend. And to be honest if you ever find yourself saying "i want a girlfriend" then you should already know that you're not "ready" for a girlfriend. It's not the kind of thing you should actively find yourself looking for. It's something that should just happen naturally. That's why they call it "falling in love" and not "planning in love". No one plans to fall, it's something that happens unexpectedly. This should be your philosophy with relationships as well. Chances are, with your current mindset, if you do find a girlfriend or someone with girlfriend potential, you're going to drive her away with your seemingly needy attitude.

I saw a grown man piss himself last night... We were at a beach party. Looooooooooot of drunk people. Guy to girl ratio was about 5:1. But that's how most "event" are here anyway. But yeah... we were sitting at our table having a good time. We hear some commotion behind us. We turn around only to see a girl knee a guy right in the money. He dropped to his knees. Then we realised his jeans started turning a darker shade of blue. It was absolutely hilarious. Apparently he was drunk, walked up to some random girl and tried to grab her ass. Was quite entertaining.

What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?
Started playing some BO2 again this week. I haven't played "seriously" in about 2 and a half months. Thought i'd be terrible, but i actually did good right off the bat. Had a 32-2 game yesterday, with the enemy team only getting 25 kills total (iirc). It was kind of funny. Total massacre. Got put into a game where someone on the enemy team was already 17 - 0 with a Vsat and Escort Drone in the air, i think their team had ~30 kills and mine had something pitiful like 10. Managed to put the team on my back, went 38 - 4 or something, pulled out the win. The guy that was 17 - 0 ended with 40 - 14 or something. He sent me the nastiest rage message i have ever received, haha.

I know it's only been 2 days, but i'm starting to get used to the e-cigarette a bit more now. I watched a few videos on YouTube on how to make a few simple adjustments to it, to improve the experience. Must say it worked out quite well. Hopefully now i can start thinking about seriously quit smoking.

18- Wheeler was driving at like a steady jogging speed cause it's a pretty busy round-about at that time of the day, the road isn't in the best condition, and the lanes are pretty narrow. So he couldn't really have been driving much faster than he was, luckily. As far as i could tell, the driver of the Bentley tried entering the round-about ahead of the truck, but realised there was a car on the inside lane of the truck (3-lane round-about) and had to stop immediately, but stopped right in the path of the 18-wheeler. So yeah, it was pretty much entirely his fault. Stuff like this happens more often than one would think, but most drivers in this country are either from India or countries in that region. So they try to apply their way of driving there, on the roads here. And it just doesn't work. I've seen some of the Indian driving instructors teach their students to cut people off, turn into a lane when there's a car speeding down the road, etc. It's hilarious.

Today...
Bought an E-Cigarette today. It's uhhh... not exactly what i expected. It tastes the same on exhale, but not on inhale. Normally cigarettes would give me a slight throat burn when i inhale, which is probably the part i enjoy most about smoking. The E-Cig lacks that sensation. It kind of feels like smoking a mini Shisha. I'll get used it it eventually though. 1 Step closer to a healthier lifestyle. Also took my car in for a minor service this morning. On my drive back home i saw an 18-Wheeler T-bone a brand new Bentley. It still had it's temporary tags on and it was coming from the direction of the Bentley service station. It was at a very low speed because it was at the entry of a round-about, but the Bentley was pretty much wrecked. The driver of the car was on his way to deliver it to the new owner's house. I felt really bad for him, because he's probably going to lose his job over this, but at the same time it was kind of funny to see his reaction when he got out of the car.

Diablo III
T6 is already pretty easy on Console, for some of the classes. Actually, i think the only class which struggles a bit is Monk, but even with the right build it's doable. Just not as efficiently. My WD is probably still the easiest. I picked up a pair of Hexing Pants the yesterday and now when i'm fully buffed i go up to 1450k DPS with 11m Toughness and 14.5k Regen. I am still running a Pet build, and it's doing even better than it did before. The Dog crits for around 60m, the Fettishes crit for 10m, and i'm not sure what the Gargantuan crits for. Soon as i manage to pick up a SMK i'll be taking out the Gargantuan and replacing it with Big Bad VooDoo. I feel like the Gargantuan isn't worth it in T6. It's a really fun build though. Very little risk of dying as long as i stay mobile. I tried Jade build, but i coudn't make it work for me. I am probably doing something wrong, but my pet build just seems to do so much better. I started playing on my Barb a few days ago too. Managed to finish off my IK Leapquake build. It's probably the only build on console (at the moment) that's really worth using in higher Torments. I tried doing something with Raekor and IK, but it was honestly just terrible compared. I just need to find some better weapons and i'll be set. I also need to figure out whether it's better for me to use DW or a 2H for this build.

Diablo III
Console is 2.0.6. Old gen (which is what i'm on) has lower mob density though. I managed to do a T6 without dying yesterday (first time i really attempted it) with that build and it did pretty alright. I think i managed to do it in 13 minutes. It's slow compared to PC, but lower mob density so i run around looking for mobs a lot. I was pretty happy with that since none of my other builds get close to T6 except for the Crusader. But i have to admit the Gargantuan is pretty weak. Dies a lot. Fetishes die often too, but with the passive that summons them, you hardly notice when one or two of them die. On the Guardian though, my dog was maybe 1 or 2 hits away from dying as well. So i can understand where you;re coming from for sure. Right now i'm working on my Monk a bit. Managed to get Inna top and bottom, Raiment of the Storm Chest, Legs, Shoulders and Gloves all within the last ~3 hours. So much luck. Need the boots now, then i want to get a Thundergod's Vigor, SOJ, and Eye of the Storm. I think i'll have a decent Monk then.

I liked more comments than you. Even reached my quota for the day. Anyway... Saw my girlfriend last night for the first time in ~3 weeks. Picked her up from the airport. Apparently she had in interesting experience on the plane. Iranian guy next to her cracked open a bottle on Jack (illegal to do that on a plane), drank half the bottle, put it under her seat while she was sleeping. Air hostess saw the bottle, confronted her. She was confused about what exactly was going on, she explained she had no idea who's it was, or where it came from but judging from the stench of bourbon coming from her right, she's going to guess it was him. He tried pinning it on her, saying she opened it and offered him some, etc. Long story short, he got escorted off the plane (he was on a connecting flight) so i guess he's in some trouble. Haven't done much else the past week. Ever since getting back from my exams i've been glued to the xbox. It's fun relaxing a bit. Next week it's back to studying though.

Got RoS last week, been working on finishing my WD build. Finally managed to do it today. Dog, Gargantuan, and Fetish Army with Tall Man's Finger and Zuni Set bonus. The DPS is just stupidly insane.

Today...
Back home. Felt good sleeping in my own bed. When i got home i pretty much said put my bags down, picked up the package waiting for me on the pool table, went up to my room, opened the package (D3 RoS), popped it in, didn't move from my couch for ~5 hours. Life's good right now. Gonna take a few days off, then back to studying (yay).

I always thought it's because they didn't want to hire people who would always be looking for better opportunities that they're actually qualified for and will most likely leave in a couple months. I think people who are "over-qualified" for a job often get turned down because they're more likely to get bored of the job faster than someone that meets the requirements "perfectly". And if you get bored of a job because you're over-qualified and not challenged enough, you're more likely to look for something else, thus creating unnecessary turn-over. So in a way, from an employers point of view, it's better not to employ someone who's over-qualified.

Passed with 89%. Satisfied. ~30 hours left in Greece. Time to unwind a bit. EDIT: Kind of a shitty feeling knowing that the 5 i passed were all the easy ones. Question bank for the 5 i took totaled at ~2500 questions. Next session will be ~4200 and the one after that ~4300. Only have about a week to rest, then it's back to the grind.

Today...
Been 10 days of the most intense studying i've done, probably in my life. Averaging 1100 questions a day (about 9 - 11 hours work depending on subject). Tomorrow will finally be my last exam for 2 months. Hopefully i can make it 5 out of 5. Pretty much exhausted by now. Can't wait to get back home, sleep in my own bed, watch the sun set at a "normal" time, and play some xbox. D3 RoS is waiting.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Doesn't matter. The fact still remains that you're not there right now. You'll see. You'll go out on a date with her, maybe two. She'll realise she didn't feel anything. She'll move on. You'll feel like shit. I don't know if you ever watched the episode of How i met your Mother where Ted was thinking about breaking up with Zoey, but then he got "breakup-goggles" which is similar to "beer-goggles". That's what she's having right now.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Erm... sorry to be the one to break it to you but chances are her feelings aren't genuine. It's probably just because you're in a different country, so it's safe for her to express emotions to someone because if you reject her there won't be any of that awkwardness. So yeah.... If i were you i'd tell her to go [bleep] herself. Cause chances are, the moment you tell her you're coming back her feeling will magically disappear. I got the same shit from girls in South Africa when i moved from SA to Qatar. I got the same shit from girls in Qatar when i moved back to SA for a year. I got the same shit again when i moved back to Qatar. And i got the same shit when i moved back from the US to Qatar. Girls who were just friends suddenly trip over their own feet to tell you how much they like you. Or you could be stupid and fall for it, then a few months from now you can post here about how i was right.
