You make fair points. I also think that Jagex puts the "skill" label on too many things that could be side activities, or exploratory experiences, but I've grown to acknowledge that sometimes, putting the "skill" label on something extends the lifespan of the activity, albeit artificially. That works well for Jagex, but it's what adds on the grinding element of the game. They have, however, slightly redeemed themselves with extra training options that reduce the grind, but it's neither the perfect solution, nor the topic at hand.

Combat cape[Topic is no longer necessary]
No, not really. I've grown to accept that there are things, both in life and in runescape, that I will never accomplish. However, that does not mean I require that others dumb down things for me, out of selfishness.

Runescape Papercrafts
I always liked your pixel work, but this is completely unexpected. And awesome.

Combat cape[Topic is no longer necessary]
Cool stuff bro. I put one hundred times the effort in the game, and I get an emote and a different cape. The completionist cape is for completionists. If you want a cape with the same stats with none of the effort, go play on a private server.

That's completely wrong. A person exposed to the same experience for longer periods of time will have more knowledge, and therefore be more qualified to talk about it. If I played runescape for 10 minutes, killed some goblins, and wrote an article saying that it sucks, would I have any credit or merit? No, because I did not play the game long enough to write an informed article about it. Is it my opinion? Yes. If my opinion worth listening to? No.

Combat cape[Topic is no longer necessary]
This. I think that the OP just wants a cape with similar stats without the skill grind, because he doesn't like it. Tsk tsk, what an egotistical sugestion. The benefits of achieving maxed combat are enough, we don't need a trophy (which we already have, in the form of "lvl 138" next to our name). Maxed combat is the best moneymaker in game, why would we need extra rewards?

Bring more pots, and some prayer gear if you deem necessary.

What's the first thing you do (did) when you get (got) members?
I can't remember, it was too long ago... And that notion saddens me deeply.

Of course you don't. But if your opinion is based on biased experiences, you might as well not write an entire article based on it. That is, if you don't want to get yelled at by the guys who actually experienced the subject enough to form a coherent opinion on it.

Unafraid to bot
You are looking it the wrong way. The completionist cape has combat stats, yes, but that's not where it goes wrong. It should also give skilling boosts, due to requiring non-combat skills to obtain. I'll leave the "skilling boosts" to your fabulous imagination.

rapier or cls at bandos
Tieszen's data begs to differ. EDIT: In a moderately large team (say, 5 elements), wouldn't the maul be a better option?

dragon claws?
They randomly reduce stats of your opponent. Its not really important.

POH Benefits?
Teleport hub, prayer altar, barrow repairs, costume/cape/pet safekeeping.

RuneScape 90 Day Membership Card - On Sale!
To enjoy previously released content? Believe it or not, the majority of runescape players hasn't completed even half of the game yet. Also, considering some players are free to play (hence why they are buying the card in the first place), they never had access to the content you oh so much like to complain about. Which isn't what this thread is about.

barbarian fishing question
As an alternative, I do believe that fishing in c2 dungeons is faster exp/h, and doesn't require you to spend money on runes.

barrows armour
Effectiveness does not decrease. You can fix them whenever you like, but I prefer not letting them reach 25%, since then they could break during combat and that wouldn't be very good.

Don't know if you noticed, but "would have" does not apply in this situation.

I'll take that as an apology. Good, this was a fruitless discussion.

I don't see how him being an author has anything to do with it. Apparently, he needs you to "defend" his poor argument.

I was merely stating that no matter how polished, a turd never becomes a diamond. Now, I'm not saying his article is in any way related to a turd, Amethyst_Gem said it for me. I never said I was giving him any kind of criticism. Again, just pointing out how weak his argument was.
-
Tip.It Times - 8th May 2011
So, what exactly was my insult? Amethyst_Gem said the article was trash, and the writer used a poor rebuttal. I only pointed out how flawed his rebuttal was.
-
Tip.It Times - 8th May 2011
Are you implying that only those who write articles can criticize article writers? Because if so, your logic isn't very sound.
-
Tip.It Times - 8th May 2011
No, I would not care to write an article. :-)
